2023 Ford F-350 SD

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, and 2022-2023 F-250 SD, F-350 SD, F-450 SD, F-550 SD, and F-600 SD vehicles. The windshield wiper arms may break, causing the wipers to fail.

Risk. Windshield wiper failure can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and replace the wiper arms, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 5, 2026. Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2026 F-150, 2022-2026 F-250 SD, F-350 SD, F-450 SD, F-550 SD, Maverick, 2024-2026 Ranger, 2023-2026 F-600 SD, 2022-2027 Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, and 2026 E-Transit vehicles. When towing a trailer, the integrated trailer module (ITRM) may lose communication with the vehicle, possibly causing a loss of brake and turn signal lights, or a loss of brake function. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, " Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Risk. Trailer lights or brakes that do not function can reduce the driver’s ability to control the trailer and decrease the trailers visibility to other road users, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. The integrated trailer module software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 25, 2026. Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Bronco, Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, F-250 SD, F-350 SD, F-450 SD, F-550 SD, 2021-2022 Lincoln Navigator, Mustang, F-150, and 2022 Expedition vehicles. The low-pressure fuel pump may fail, which can result in an engine stall while driving.

Risk. An engine stall increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the low pressure fuel pump on super duty vehicles and update the powertrain control module (PCM) software on all other affected vehicles, free of charge. Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Bronco, F-150, 2021-2024 Edge, 2022-2025 Escape, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F-600, 2022-2024 Expedition, 2022-2025 Transit, 2021-2023 Mach-E, 2024 Ranger, Mustang, 2021-2023 Lincoln Nautilus, 2022-2024 Navigator, and 2023-2024 Corsair vehicles. A software error may cause the rearview camera image to delay, freeze, or not display when the vehicle is in reverse.

Risk. A frozen or missing rearview camera image can reduce the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. The accessory protocol interface module (APIM) software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air update, free of charge. This will be a phased campaign, with the remedy becoming available in different phases based on model and model years. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed on June 26, 2025. Additional letters will be mailed once the final remedy is available on each phase. Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2023 Super Duty F-250 and F-350 vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 23V-507. The driver and front passenger windows may fail to detect an obstacle while closing and not reverse direction as intended.

Risk. A window that does not automatically reverse when an obstruction is encountered increases the risk of injury.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2023 F-Super Duty F-250, F-350, and F-450 vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 23V-573. The default rearview camera image may not be displayed when using the Pro Trailer Hitch Assist feature.

Risk. An incorrect rearview camera image can reduce the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy. Dealers will update the Advanced Drive Assistance System (ADAS) module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 4, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S17.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2023-2024 F-250, F-350, and F-450 vehicles. Water may enter the Tailgate Park Assist Sensor Interface Module (TPASIM) and cause the rearview camera image to display intermittently or appear blue or black.

Risk. A rearview camera image that does not display can decrease the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the tailgate top camera, wire harness, TPASIM module, and update the Image Processing Module A (IPMA) software, free of charge. Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2023 F-150 and Ford SD F250, F350, F450, F550, and F600 vehicles. The steering wheel clock spring may have an insufficient weld, causing a loss of electrical connection to the driver's frontal air bag.

Risk. A deactivated air bag will not deploy during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and replace the clock spring as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 3, 2024. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332.

Defect. Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2022-2023 Ford Super Duty F-350, F-450, F-550, and F-600 vehicles. The fasteners for the front wheel hub extender may be insufficiently tightened, which can result in the wheel and wheel extender detaching from the vehicle.

Risk. Wheel detachment can result in a loss of vehicle control and create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the repair has been performed. Dealers will inspect the front wheel hub extender retaining nuts. If the retaining nuts are loose, dealers will replace the wheel hub extender, retaining nuts, and hub assembly. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2023 Super Duty F250 and F350 vehicles equipped with single rear wheels and a 10.5-inch rear axle shaft. The left rear axle shaft may have been improperly heat-treated during manufacturing and may break.

Risk. A broken rear axle shaft can result in a loss of drive power or vehicle rollaway when the vehicle is placed in park. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect the left rear axle shaft date code and replace the axle shaft as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 17, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 23S49.

While on the interstate on Friday, the vehicle started violently shaking, and felt like I was driving on an egg-shaped tire. A Ford shop said the belt was separating from the driver’s side front tire, and they pulled it off and put the spare on. On Sunday, again on the interstate and maybe 100 miles later the shaking started again- but from the passenger side tire; and then I felt a catastrophic failure and loss of control of the vehicle. I was able to regain control and get the vehicle out of the travel lane. Tire debris was flung all over the road and caused substantial damage to the wheel well, liner, quarter panel, door and engine components. Physical examination reveals complete belt separation, and frayed steel is all over the tire. The tire is a Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT, size 285/75/R17. The vehicle had to be towed in and is currently in a collision center. The assessment of the tire is a catastrophic failure of the tire caused by belt separation. I called Cooper to report this manufacturer’s defect, and after 45 mins on hold I hung up; and submitted a written complaint via the Cooper website, and have received NO RESPONSE.

Vehicle randomly hesitates to shift (slip/flare), usually from 3-4 or 8-9 gears. It is sometimes accompanied by a clunk/slam before/after engaging the higher numbered gear. It seems to happen more often when the transmission is at/approaching normal operating temperature. The slip/flare has been becoming more frequent and is now randomly accompanied by the clunk/slam. I first noticed the slip/flare changing from gears 3-4. At that time the vehicle had 43,000mi on it.

I am hearing and feeling snaps coming from my vehicle steering. It feels like the steering column is not functioning correctly. I can feel the truck getting more sloppy turning and traveling differently than it did at 35,000 miles. Ford wants to charge me $185 to investigate and then they may take action. There is a recall on this problem, but my truck’s vin isn’t listed. I’m worried that it may come apart or cause an accident.

Overhead clearance lights leaking water when it rains.

All cameras went out on the F350 with a blue screen there’s a recall on this but my truck is not included and needs to be expanded.

The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-350 SD. The contact stated that the adaptive cruise control mode was inoperable. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving 50-55 MPH to the dealer, the contact noticed that the vehicle in front of the vehicle had stopped abruptly with no brake lights activated. The contact stated that upon depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact attempted to veer to the left to avoid the other vehicle, but the passenger's side front end crashed into the rear of the other vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the six air bags of the vehicle deployed, and there was blinding smoke in the vehicle. The contact was transported to the hospital by ambulance and was hospitalized for 7 days. The contact was then transferred to a rehabilitation facility, where he was currently receiving care. The contact sustained a broken right hand and toe. The contact also sustained breathing complications as the contact's underlying cardiac and pulmonary health issues were triggered. The other driver sustained unknown injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and could not be driven away from the scene. The front doors come open while driving down the road in cold weather. Multiple dealerships have to me to just deal with it. My children have to hold the doors shut while we are going down the road or I have to hold the driver's door shut while driving. There was a recall issued for certain 2023 F-350's regarding a door latch mechanism malfunction but apparently it doesn't apply to my pickup even though me doors don't stay shut while driving and multiple dealerships tell me there is nothing, they can do to fix it. When one of us gets hurt, falls off, or has a door hit by oncoming traffic, what am I supposed to do? The safety of my children does not matter to Ford motor company or their Montana dealerships. It happens regularly, not just once. Speed is not a factor, I can be driving 5 mph or 75 mph when it happens.

The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-350 SD. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that metal shavings were found inside the fuel system and that the fuel system needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the Insurance Company inspected the vehicle and found metal shavings inside the fuel tank. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.

This is a 2023 Ford F350 XLT vehicle. The low beam headlights do not put out sufficient light and are dangerous. I visited with the Ford dealership in Sunrise, Florida called Sawgrass Ford who told me that the previous owner changed the light source out to an LED light in an effort to gain more light. We both agreed that this did not help. In my research online it appears that this problem is limited to the XLT model. Apparently the Lariat, King Ranch, etc models have different headlights. There does not appear to be a recall on these headlights. I contacted Ford directly who advised me to go to a different dealer which won't help unless these are changed out. The vehicle currently has less than 35000 miles and is still under warranty.

While driving on a highway on two occasions my truck suddenly displayed low fuel pressure. I lost complete engine power. First occasion ford said was fuel control module. Second occurrence same thing was on [XXX] low fuel pressure signal and engine stopped working. Been in touch with fullerton ford in somerville where vehicle was subsequently towed to. Representative stated it is the low pressure fuel pump that is causing the intermittently loss of pressure. Almost got killed on the highway trying to get over to the shoulder with the sudden loss of engine power due to loss of fuel pressure. Vehicle still at dealer unknown if part has been replaced. Multiple electrical issues related to dashboard controls, video sensors, head unit. Controls powering down while driving, sensors throwing multiple error messages. All since 1,500 miles. Ford could not figure out what the issue was so they replaced the wiring harness. After 2 months in the shop I got my vehicle back. 2 weeks later I am getting the same error messages in the dash and has to go back into the shop for the same reason.

Front doors will not close and latch when it is cold outside. Multiple dealerships have told me there is nothing that they can do to fix this issue. Doors will come open while driving if they don't latch. I often have to use a ratchet strap to keep doors shut from the inside while driving in cold weather. Apparently, according to Ford, I am a stupid girl that should just live with this issue and wait for my kids to fall out of my pickup.

The audio system “glitched” and all of the speakers started screeching at maximum volume. I was unable to get this to stop outside of turning the vehicle off. It is so loud my ear were ringing for hours. This is loud enough it could definitely cause someone to wreck and impairs driving ability. I could also smell the electrical in the speakers getting hot and was fearful of an electrical fire. No warning lights. Not reproducible.
