Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2019 Lincoln MKC, Mustang, F-350 SD, F-250 SD, F-450 SD, 2015-2017 Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, 2015-2018 Edge, Transit Connect, 2016-2019 F-550 SD, Transit, 2017-2019 Econoline, and 2019 Ranger vehicles. The rearview camera may display a distorted, inverted, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse.

Risk. A rearview camera that displays an inverted, distorted, or blank image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 13, 2026. Ford owners will receive letters in phases, beginning January 2026 and June 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S89. Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017-2018 F-Super Duty F-250, F-350, and F-450 4x4 vehicles. A radial damper inside the driveshaft may move out of position over time, which can cause a driveshaft imbalance and result in a fracture.

Risk. A fractured driveshaft can cause a loss of drive power. Additionally, a vehicle rollaway could occur while parked if the parking brake is not engaged. Either of these scenarios increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the driveshaft, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 27, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S74.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017-2020 F-Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and 2017-2020 Lincoln Continental vehicles equipped with the 360-degree camera system. Degradation of the camera's anit-reflective lens coating can lead to a foggy or cloudy rearview camera image.

Risk. Lack of a clear rearview camera image can reduce the driver's visibility of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the rearview camera, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 14, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-800-1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S51.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017-2022 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty vehicles equipped with gasoline engines and aluminum driveshafts. Underbody heat and noise insulators may loosen and contact the aluminum driveshaft, which could damage the driveshaft and cause it to fracture.

Risk. A fractured driveshaft can cause a loss of drive power, or a loss of vehicle control if the driveshaft contacts the ground. Additionally, unintended movement could occur while parked if the parking brake is not engaged. Any of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and repair the driveshaft as necessary, and properly attach the underbody insulators, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 7, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S09.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018 F-150, 2018-2020 F-250, F-350, and 2019 Escape vehicles equipped with Continental tires. On the affected vehicles, it is possible that one or more tires were cured for too long during tire production.

Risk. Over cured tires may develop a break in the sidewall, resulting in sudden air loss or belt edge separation which could lead to tread/belt loss. Either condition can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the tires, and replace them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on March 27, 2021. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 21S10.

Defect. Icon Vehicle Dynamics, LLC (Icon) is recalling all 05-UP FSD 2.5 Centerline Stabilizer Kits with part number 65050. The kits were sold as an accessory for certain 2005-2021 Ford F-250 4X4 and F-350 4X4 pickup trucks. The foam ring inside the stabilizer "through shaft" may block the piston ports, possibly causing the steering to lock up.

Risk. If the steering locks, it can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Icon will notify owners, and dealers will install a new shock assembly with a revised foam ring and steel support disc, free of charge. The recall began December 21, 2020. Owners may contact Icon customer service at 1-951-689-4266.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017-2019 F-Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 SuperCrew Cab vehicles with carpet flooring. If a front seat belt pretensioner deploys as the result of a crash, the sparks may ignite materials such as carpeting or insulation within the B-pillar area.

Risk. A vehicle fire could result if materials ignite inside the vehicle.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will apply heat resistant tape to the carpet and its insulation, and modify the B-Pillar insulation as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin January 20, 2020. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 19S52.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Super Duty F-250, F-350, and F-450 trucks equipped with an electric tailgate latch release switch mounted in the tailgate handle. Water may enter the electrical wiring system and cause a short circuit, activating the switch and releasing the tailgate latches.

Risk. Unintended tailgate opening may allow unrestrained cargo to fall out of the truck bed and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will modify the tailgate/frame wiring harnesses by adding jumper pigtails to isolate the tailgate release control circuits and will install a new tailgate handle release switch, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin January 20, 2020. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 19S48.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018-2019 F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty trucks. The Daytime Running Lights (DRL) may not dim when the headlight switch is moved into the "On" position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Risk. DRL that cannot dim may reduce the visibility of other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Ford has notified owners, and dealers will reprogram the Body Control Module (BCM) software, free of charge. The recall began November 25, 2019. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 19C10.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2019 Ford F-150 and 2017-2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty, F-350 Super Duty, F-450 Super Duty, and F-550 Super Duty pick-up trucks equipped with an engine block heater and previously remedied under recall 18V894. During the previous repair, the block heater cable's splice connector may have been damaged.

Risk. A damaged cable could cause a resistive short, increasing the risk of overheated or melted wiring, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will disable the engine block heater from being used. When replacement cables become available, a second notice will be mailed and dealers will replace the engine block heater cord, free of charge. The recall began May 31, 2019. Tailgate opens while driving with out me pushing the button. Puts people at risk by stuff in back of the truck falling out on the highway. Second the side view cameras are blurry can’t see anything. Put the people on the side of the truck at risk of being hit.

I was traveling eastbound on highway 10 and around 10am near Gramercy Louisiana I was traveling approximately 70 mph and a slight wobble was felt in my steering wheel, I reduced my speed to about 60 mph to see if the wobble would go away. It was at this moment that the front passenger tire completely failed. I pulled my F350 to the side of the highway to access the situation. I have photos showing that the complete tread to the tire had separated from the belt for the full circumference of the tire. My truck had Cosmo LT285/70R17 installed by Lake Charles 2 Tire in the Spring/summer of 2024. I can confirm I had under 20,000 driven miles on the tires. The tire seperation , caused significant damage to my truck, ripping off the passenger side step, and damaging my fender. I believe it to be a catastrophic belt seperation .

I request that NHTSA investigate potential safety risks associated with the Bosch CP4 high-pressure fuel injection pump in the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine used in my 2018 Ford F-350 Super Duty. My truck has approximately 148,000 miles. I purchased it used and am concerned about potential catastrophic pump failure, sudden engine power loss, fuel-system contamination, and substantial repair costs. A CP4 pump failure can release metal debris into the fuel system, potentially damaging injectors, fuel rails, lines, and other components and requiring extensive repairs. Sudden engine power loss while driving or towing could create a serious safety hazard, particularly on highways. I understand that certain vehicles from Ford and other manufacturers have been subject to recalls or safety actions involving CP4 high-pressure fuel pumps. I ask NHTSA to determine whether those actions involve the same or substantially similar pump design and failure mechanism as the pump installed in my 2018 F-350. Please review available failure data for 2018 Ford F-350 trucks equipped with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel, evaluate the risks of fuel-system contamination and sudden power loss, and determine whether existing investigations or recalls should be expanded to include this model year or other affected vehicles. Going 60 to 70 miles per hour on I81 front end experienced uncontrollable wobbling not able to control truck had to slow down to stop vibrations. Occurred 3 times in a row almost rear ended by tractor trailer trucks as they could not tell we were having problems as we slowed down. Placing our flashing lights on was not enough notice to the large trucks

The contact stated that after parking the vehicle in the driveway of their residence, the DPF regeneration process activated and completed, and the vehicle was turned off. The contact exited the vehicle. Approximately 15 minutes later, the contact discovered flames coming from under the hood. The fire department responded and extinguished the fire. The cause of the fire was not determined. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 150,000.

Ford Motor Company deployed an over-the-air software update to my 2018 Ford F350 that corrupted the Body Control Module. The software error permanently locked the vehicle into a speed-restricted 'MyKey' safety mode, leaving me with an altered vehicle and no admin access to bypass it. Ford Corporate is refusing to fix the corrupted software deployment. I do not and never have had a second key and they are now saying I must purchase this and pay for my truck to be reset.

Our 2018 Ford F-350 Super Duty diesel with the 6.7L Power Stroke engine has a well-known, massive fuel system concern involving the Bosch CP4 high-pressure fuel pump. This pump failed and it sheds metal shavings throughout the entire fuel system. Repair cost $13k. Per other consumer and google results: The CP4 Fuel Pump Issue. The Defect: The Bosch CP4 pump is designed for European diesel fuel, which has more lubrication than American diesel. When it lacks sufficient lubrication, it can score itself and self-destruct. The Damage: Metal debris floods the fuel rails, lines, and injectors, requiring a complete replacement of the fuel system components.

My wife reported a strong smell fuel in the passenger compartment of my 2018 F350 6.7L Diesel vehicle while returning home from work. Upon inspection under the hood when power was turned on I discovered a strong stream of fuel from the filter cap.

My truck's tailgate has started opening on its own while driving, again. Previous recalls on this issue were performed when parts were available. This is a safety hazard to anyone behind me if anything falls out of the truck bed while driving. Today, 2/3/2026, it opened again. A bucket fell out of the truck bed. Fortunately no one was behind me. My truck is available for inspection. I have not contacted the dealer yet for their inspection/diagnosis. There are no warnings when this happens. It has forced me to strap the tailgate so it can't open unexpectedly.

Steering Effort Control Module failed. This is a known concern with these vehicles. Many Super Duty's have this happen. It is a very expensive repair. The steering effort changes, the vehicle becomes out of alignment and other things like cruise control, wipers, etc may fail as part of this issue.

The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The contact stated that the failure had occurred in Vancouver Island, Canada, where the vehicle remained for the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.

The car had not been driven and was only in use for about 20 minutes. Then, the check engine light came on. I was planning to take the next exit to investigate. About a minute after the check engine light came on, several other lights came on. They stopped about 20 seconds later. The car began to smoke and as I was pulling over, smoke began to enter the cab. When I pulled over, the car began was on fire. Highway patrol and Cal Fire arrived. Cal Fire put the fire out. It was a total loss. Highway 101 was shut down for a bit while the truck was on fire.

The panoramic vista sunroof began allowing air while driving. Then the mechanism began not working properly. This all resulted in the track breaking and caused the entire system to stop working. While driving on highway or freeways, the glass would open and could not be secured properly. Could have caused the glass to become a projectile object. Upon researching this issue, I found several complaints for the panoramic vista sunroof for Ford/Lincoln's from 2017 to 2019. TSB # 18-2374. We have a 2018. To be clear; this was a progressive issue that started in 2021 and simply thought it to be the windy conditions outside the vehicle. Then the issue became worse even after being regularly serviced and repaired. By 2024, the track broke completely. Resulting in a complete replacement.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-350. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that the transmission shifted hard into gear, and the vehicle was shaking erratically. Additionally, the engine overheated. No warning light was illuminated. Unknown component that failed. Suspicion, the fuel system located at the back of the fire wall on drivers side. The fire started in that location and was extremely hot and fast moving. The truck was fully engulfed within 1.5 minutes then burnt the attached 5th wheel trailer and contents. It was a total loss of 3 vehicles 2018 Ford F350, 2021 Dutchman Voltage 5th wheel trailer, and a 2013 Polaris RZR side by side UTV. All was reduced to rubble within 15 Min. Our safety and lives were at risk, we had 30-45 seconds from smelling and seeing smoke to flames. We were traveling on Interstate 15 at highway speeds and had to stop as safe as possible on the shoulder of the road. The vehicle has not been inspected as far as I know, the frame is all what is left. There were no warning lights and all gauges read normal,

The vehicle was then taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the steering dampener, the pitman arm, and the inner and outer drag links needed to be replaced; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to the death wobble. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the inner and outer drag link and pitman's arm were worn and that only the steering dampener replacement would be covered. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 76,000.

Sync screen has gone black on radio causing all blind spots to be invisible while parking a large vehicle. I was told by ford tech support this is a recall in certain year ford explorers but not in the F series trucks! I looked up the issue on many of ford forums and it is an unresolved issue. If the rear camera is a recall the image projecting device “SYNC Radio” which is a brain to truck should be as well I would imagine. The laborer and parts for the repair are costly to the company and I’m extremely concerned with how I was treated when this is a known issue with ford. I paid 62000 for a vehicle that now has a recall for a foggy camera but no recall for the device to visually see 360 degrees around vehicle. Suburban Ford of Waterford wants to charge me upwards around 1000.00 for parts and laborer to fix a KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE. All attempts to update have been completed and any ford provided reset and install options have been performed. Downloaded the 3.4 update onto thumb drive in the right format and just black screen of death it’s now been named in forums. They push it off as an update but the years being monitored have faulty APIM modules. Causing screens to have no image, sound, and HANDSFREE safety features. Please help me resolve this concern! The vehicle was repaired but the check engine warning light illuminated on the way back to the residence. The vehicle was taken back to the same local dealer where it was diagnosed that the exhaust system and catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,600.

Violent front end shimmy (death wobble) at highway speeds. Seems to be worsening. Happened in Interstate traffic near Atlanta Georgia. Extreme concern as I was among multiple vehicles with many behind me as well, all moving at highway speeds. I could not stop the problem until I had slowed to about 20 miles per hour.

Vehicle steering began shuddering violently while driving at around 50MPH. I had to slow to around 25MPH to get the shuddering to stop. It happened again around 50MPH any time I hit a bump or pothole. At this point the vehicle is unable to be driven at highway speeds.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver as well as it was no longer centered. The adaptive steering warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was diagnosed as the steering effort control module (SECM) was not communicating and the steering wheel needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in the Manufacturer's Communication Number due to the plant assembly location. A case was not opened with the manufacturer. The approximate failure mileage was 148,000.

I was changing lanes at 75 MPH on the interstate in Chicago and hit a bump in the road. The steering wheel and the truck started shaking violently (Death Wobble). The only way that I could get it to stop was to come to a complete stop. Luckily there wasn't a ton of traffic and I was able to change lanes easily. I was on my way home with 300 miles of travel left. This happened again 2 more times on the way home. I had to travel at a reduced rate of speed to try and keep the issue from happening again. Luckily I had just dropped of my 42ft 5th wheel camper. If this had happened while pulling my camper I don't think I would of been able to control the vehicle. I have ordered $1,000 of aftermarket and replacement parts to fix the issue . I will not drive the vehicle again until I have this repaired.

Ongoing problem originally reported 4/12/18, NHTSA ID 11084859. Originally reported failure of one aluminum wheel/valve stem causing loss of air pressure. Since then, all four outer aluminum wheels/valve stems have been subject to ongoing air loss. Ford has replaced all the valve stems because of air loss/leaking 3 times! They have also replaced all four outer aluminum wheels because of air loss/leaking. Truck is out of warranty now and I have had an independent tire seal leaking valve stems on multiple occasions and add air to tires frequently because of this ongoing SAFETY PROBLEM.

The contact diagnosed the vehicle and retrieved DTC Code: P24AF (Particulate Matter Sensor Circuit Range/Performance has been detected). The contact stated that the vehicle had previously received a recall repair regarding an ECM software upgrade related to DTC Code: P24AF. The contact stated he contacted the dealer and informed the dealer of the failure and the diagnostic code. The dealer advised the contact that the repair would not be covered under warranty. This issue is connected with the 6.7L diesel engine. When sitting and idling it starts to idle really fast and the exhaust has an odor and strong fumes. It did not use to do this. I took to my Ford dealership and they say it's normal and there is nothing wrong. I have talked with other people that own the Ford diesel and they have experienced the same issue and been told the same thing by their dealership. No warnings or anything come up when the vehicle does this. If you enter the vehicle and touch the brake or accelerator it will then idle back down.

Lost all Brake pressure, the Pedal went to the floor while driving. This could have lead to a serious injury or death while driving.

Experienced the "Death Wobble" multiple times while on vacation March and April 2023 while towing a 30 foot 5th wheel RV. When traveling interstate highways between 55 and 65 MPH we experienced extreme violent shaking of the front end whenever going over rough pavement. Immediate slowing to below 50 MPH ended the violent shaking. We do not tow the RV at speeds above 65 MPH. We reported the issue to Kendall Ford of Meridian, 250 East Overland Road, Meridian Idaho 83642, 208-888-4403 on April 24, 2023. Kendall Ford acknowledged the issue and we are "in line" for the parts that supposedly fix the issue. Once the parts arrive, Kendall Ford will schedule the repair.

Suspension and or steering goes into a violent shaking and vibrating motion that will stop only when hitting the brakes and or significantly slowing down. Safety of the driver, passengers, and others around may be significantly injured if loss of control should occur. There are numerous complaints to the NHTSA, and lawsuits regarding this exact issue, known as the "death wobble". There are no warnings to when this may occur, and usually starts with a bump in the road. This vehicle is available for inspection upon request.

Traveling on highway with no load and no passengers at the speed of 53 mph the trucks steering wheel began shaking violently when I hit a rough spot in the road. At this point I had to bring the vehicle to a complete stop in the middle of the highway. Motorists that where behind me were doing all they could do to stay clear of me and one driver actually waited to be sure everything was alright. This was my first experience since purchasing the vehicle new and the truck only has 25,600 miles on it , and now I'm scared to drive it. I am waiting on Ford to respond since calling them. This is very scary and dangerous and I feel lucky that no one was hurt, although I thought it was going brake my hands off while trying to hold on.

I have a 2018 F350 with about 60k miles, otherwise excellent condition. Problem started about 2 months ago (around Nov 2022) or about 1 month after the last shop maintenance visit. Description: Coming home from work with driving speed around 50-60 mph the front end started shaking strongly. Had to slow down quite a bit to get it under control or stop shaking. The incident has been repeated on other roads. The stimulus that starts it all is when some roughness of the road is encountered. This shaking has become violent at times and have had to take evasive maneuvering to avoid an accident or damage to the truck. No warning lamps have come on nor have any other indicators. The problem has progressed to where it may be unsafe to take it on the freeway for any trips. I do fear for my safety and have to be vigilant at all times. The dealer will be notified on 27 Jan 2023 so a record can be made. Have gone on-line to find out that over a thousand other similar reports are out there and video footage. I have seen this happen on other Ford chassis specifically the 2004 Thor motorhome built on a Ford F53 chassis.

DEATH WOBBLE IN FRONT SUSPENSION

Driving at normal highway speed while going over a bridge on highway 290 Worcester, mA the vehicle went over the metal plate that connects the bridge to the road, the front end of the vehicle started to shake. Slowly at first and quickly becoming uncontrollable. The vehicle would not stop violently shaking until I brought the truck to an almost complete stop on an extremely congested highway two days before Christmas at noon time. Many vehicles around me at the time swerved to avoid hitting me, just avoiding accidentally striking my almost completely stopped vehicle in the fast lane of the highway. My confidence in the vehicle has dropped to zero and will not allow my wife or two junior operators to drive that vehicle on the highway anymore until the vehicle problem has been corrected.
