2015 Ford F-350 SD

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2019 Lincoln MKC, Mustang, F-350 SD, F-250 SD, F-450 SD, 2015-2017 Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, 2015-2018 Edge, Transit Connect, 2016-2019 F-550 SD, Transit, 2017-2019 Econoline, and 2019 Ranger vehicles. The rearview camera may display a distorted, inverted, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse.

Risk. A rearview camera that displays an inverted, distorted, or blank image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 13, 2026. Ford owners will receive letters in phases, beginning January 2026 and June 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S89. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V270. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning September 8, 2025.

Defect. Icon Vehicle Dynamics, LLC (Icon) is recalling all 05-UP FSD 2.5 Centerline Stabilizer Kits with part number 65050. The kits were sold as an accessory for certain 2005-2021 Ford F-250 4X4 and F-350 4X4 pickup trucks. The foam ring inside the stabilizer "through shaft" may block the piston ports, possibly causing the steering to lock up.

Risk. If the steering locks, it can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Icon will notify owners, and dealers will install a new shock assembly with a revised foam ring and steel support disc, free of charge. The recall began December 21, 2020. Owners may contact Icon customer service at 1-951-689-4266.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2011-2015 Ford F-350, F-450, and F-550 trucks manufactured February 22, 2010, to January 30, 2015, and equipped with ambulance or fire engine preparation packages. The affected vehicles may detect an incorrect Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor (EGT) fault indicating that the vehicle is too hot, causing the engine management system to shut down the engine and prevent its immediate restart.

Risk. Engine shut down and a subsequent cool down period may delay medical treatment or assistance to those needing it, increasing their risk of injury.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will update the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software, free of charge. The recall began on April 22, 2015. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 15S09.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015 F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks manufactured September 13, 2013, through March 28, 2014, and equipped with 6.2L gasoline or 6.7L diesel engines and 6R140 transmissions. An error with the transmission control software may be such that while shifting from "Park" to "Drive" the vehicle may display "Drive" but possibly engage "Reverse" for 1.5 seconds before engaging "Drive." Therefore, the vehicles do not conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 102, "Transmission Shift Lever Sequence, Starter Interlock, and Transmission Braking Effect."

Risk. If the vehicle is in "Reverse" while the while the gear selection shows "Drive," unexpected movement could occur, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will update the transmission software, free of charge. The recall began on May 6, 2014. Owners may contact Fords customer service at 1-800-392-3673. Ford's number for this recall is 14C04.

On June 9, 2026, the vehicle received a PCM reprogramming under Ford Recall 21E01. Before the update, the transmission had no symptoms: no slipping, no warning lights, and no diagnostic trouble codes. Between June 9 and August 11, the vehicle accumulated 1,894 miles. On August 11, 2026, while driving about 60 mph, the vehicle suddenly downshifted from sixth to fifth gear without input. A clunk was felt, followed by complete loss of all gears. There were no warning lights, no diagnostic trouble codes, and no limp‑mode activation. The failure was sudden and total. A diesel shop retrieved the strategy values after the incident, which showed no recorded indication of transmission degradation prior to the PCM update. The failure occurred less than 2,000 miles after the PCM reprogramming. The vehicle was in factory‑stock condition. The incident raises concern that the updated PCM calibration may have affected torque calculation, shift coordination, or diagnostic monitoring, resulting in an uncommanded downshift and loss of all gears without protective response.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure and gave the contact the same information as the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

Odometer Fraud. The contact's spouse recently sold a 2015 Ford F-350; however, the spouse still had the vehicle in possession. The contact discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy after viewing the post online. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of the sale, the mileage was 650,000. Upon checking Facebook Marketplace, the mileage was 120,000.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where two modules were replaced, and the new modules were reprogrammed at the contact's expense; however, the failure reoccurred approximately two months later. The contact requested reimbursement from the manufacturer and sent supporting documents; however, the manufacturer denied reimbursement because the vehicle was previously repaired due to a rearview camera black image while the recall pertained to a blank image. The failure mileage was approximately 35,576.

What component or system failed? The Steering and Suspension system failed. Specifically, the front axle hubs, track bar, and U-joints failed, causing a violent loss of steering control known as "Death Wobble." These components are currently available for inspection; however, they were diagnosed as "FAILED" and requiring immediate replacement to make the vehicle safe to drive. How was safety put at risk? The failure caused violent, uncontrollable shaking of the steering wheel and front end at highway speeds. This resulted in a near-total loss of directional control, putting the driver and surrounding traffic at immediate risk of a collision. The defect made the vehicle impossible to steer safely above 45 MPH. Has the problem been confirmed? Yes. The failure was reproduced and confirmed by an independent certified service center, AutoNation Ford Gulf Freeway. Their inspection explicitly diagnosed the front axle hubs, track bar, and U-joints as "FAILED" and unsafe. The repair estimate to correct these safety defects totaled $6,128.09. Has the vehicle been inspected? Yes. It was inspected by AutoNation Ford Gulf Freeway (a certified Ford dealership) immediately following the incident. Were there warning symptoms? The symptoms (violent wobble) appeared immediately after purchasing the vehicle. My truck is been having a death wobble for years now. It's scary, I changed tires suspension and I still have the issue.

The touch screen interface is misaligned and occasionally not working at all. The misalignment means that to activate a button the driver must click somewhere else in the screen than the location where the button is displayed. This offset appears to change infrequently. This cause the driver to have to hunt for the location where the button responds and not pay attention to the road. If the wrong location is touched it may open random menus or start unintended functions, causing additional distractions and requiring multiple screen interactions. The car does not have physical buttons for most functions. On several occasions I found myself drifting out of lane due to this problem.

2015 Ford F350 6.7 liter Diesel Turbocharger with only 58,000 miles malfunctioned while accelerating on to freeway without any prior warning indicators or symptoms. Immediately engine acceleration was reduced drastically causing freeway cars to nearly rear end my vehicle and other cars swerving to avoid accident. A message showed up simultaneously while reduced acceleration occured on vehicle’s dash display indicating something to the effect “Reducing Acceleration” and a yellow check engine icon lit up on dash display. I limped the vehicle to the side of Freeway and shut engine off. Upon restarting engine discovered engine and turbo operated properly and was able to drive vehicle to a non-Ford Service Center to be repaired. The Technician could not find anything wrong with the operation of the engine-turbocharger and cleared the trouble code. Drove vehical for approximately 500 miles and the same reduced acceleration problem re-occurred while accelerating on to freeway. Pulled vehicle over to safe area, shut engine off, re-started engine, engine and turbocharger operated properly, drove home and then to Ford Dealership (check engine icon still lit). Discovered vehicle can not be smog tested with this intermittent problem due to check engine icon. My safety, my passengers safety, and others safety while driving on the freeway were put at high risk. The reduced acceleration problem does reoccur. Rear Camera intermittent failure. I was just notified of the recall, but I'm experiencing the issue. Ford doesn't want to authorize the repair under the recall, even though they sent the notice, and I'm having the problem.

Brake light failure. Appears that the brake lights were stuck in the illuminated position while the vehicle was not being used. I had to disconnect the batteries to disable the lights.

My truck started "The Death Wobble" a few years ago. I have replaced shocks, tires and ball joints. The problem recently became almost undriveable on the highway as any small bump at a legal (70 MPH) triggered 5 instances on a trip to and from a destination that was 70 miles away via the interstate. I have ordered additional parts based on internet research to try to fix this issue, however in my research it is clear the is a COMMON issue. Why is this allowed to continue?

The contact’s son purchased the 2015 Ford F-350; however, while attempting to sell the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 127,000 and at the time of attempted sale, it was discovered that the mileage was 389,000.

The contact stated when the vehicle was purchased from the dealer, the odometer and the odometer disclosure form indicated the mileage was 127,656. The contact stated that the Carfax report indicated that on February 27, 2023, the vehicle was serviced, and the odometer mileage reported at the time was 389,490. In addition, the Carfax report indicated that on April 25, 2024, the vehicle was serviced, and the odometer mileage reported at the time was 96,901. The dealer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue.

The back up camera on my F350 froze the image on the screen as I was backing up, and I didn’t realize that I had backed into my daughter’s car. I ripped my fender off and wedged my tires up underneath her CRV there was no warning and I didn’t realize there was a recall on it because I hadn’t gotten anything in the mail. I did it my own driveway so I didn’t call the police and I haven’t turned on insurance yet. I wanted to see what I needed to do

Severe death wobble with speeds over 50. Steering to left at that speed and vehicle shakes severely. Going interstate speed, vehicle almost comes off pavement and shakes all over. Brought in numerous times for issue and never rectified.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle drove over a bump in the roadway and started losing motive power. There was no warning light illuminated. Despite the failure, the contact was able to drive at a reduced speed back to the residence. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that the intercooler hose had cracked, causing the vehicle to lose motive power. The contact replaced the intercooler hoses and the MAP sensor. Upon investigation, the contact stated that the failure was a known issue. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired however, the contact stated that the turbocharger failed to operate as needed. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

While driving truck caught fire left side of engine and in a few hundred yards of getting stopped burning fuel was pouring from left side in the area of secondary fuel filter.

Put it into drive and it went in reverse at least twice now (I'm assuming that's the transmission control modular...?) Luckily we didn't hit anyone and it's happened at home or a drive thru....no...not yet....it says our truck isn't part of the recall the year had (had no idea there even was a recall for it until it had the issue, and trying to figure it out and someone told us about it the same day the issue occured).....there were no other indicators of prior issues or warnings to it happening....

Hello on 8/3/22 I was driving on the highway and as I was accelerating at around 50mph the steering wheel started to violently shake back and forth. I thought I was going to loose control and crash. I have never experienced this in a vehicle before. To date I have replaced most of the front components and within the past month, both front Tie rods left and right. Steering tie rod including steering gearbox tie rod were replaced. My tires have been replaced in July of 2022. Both front Hubs in 2023. I just had the tires rebalanced again two weeks ago to try anything. The ball joints in 2022 and the mechanic says all these parts above are ok and he cant diagnose anything to cause this death wobble which he experienced. I am now having another shop replace the front Track bar to see if that helps. In the past two years I have spent several thousand dollars on this trucks with front end parts and I still experience this steering shake and wobble. Two years ago at that time the truck was about seven years old, I took it to the ford dealer and they advised that they couldn't find anything and trucks "Do need maintenance" typical run around from ford. Can someone please help.

Failed CP4 design. $10000 to fix a known issue with a failed design that Gm had a class action lawsuit with.

Truck experienced death wobble at posted speed limit and steering could not be controlled until I could slow vehicle. Earlier the death wobble happened and took it to the ford dealer and the service reported nothing wrong. I replaced the tie rods steering damper installed new shocks and springs and cannot be corrected

I have experienced what is called the ford death wobble on multiple occasions however yesterday it happened 3 different times while traveling with my [XXX] nephew and elderly mother. It terrified both as it almost caused an accident yesterday. This is not acceptable to pay $53 thousand for a vehicle that you feel unsafe to drive! Had engine light on In 2019 .Nox sensor replaced under my 4year extended warranty. Truck had 103,000 miles 2021 had engine light on, Nox sensor fault, Calibration of Nox sensor preformed. Truck mileage 110,000 2024 engine light on. Nox sensor fault, Nox sensor replaced, My cost $1058.64 Truck mileage 113,945 So in four years and only 10,000 miles , I have had to install two of the same location , Nox sensors and one calibration. So in my vue, ford has an issue , with these parts and warranty. I would appreciate , if you would get back to me on the issue Sunrise Ford of north Hollywood seems to be on my side Technically the part in question has an issue,as do many other truck owners with same part.

Death wobble

My steering wheel is clicking and hard to turn all the sudden then my airbag light popped on, they recalled the 2016 year models for this problem but not the 2015

I was driving on the freeway today at approximately 70mph when I hit a slight bump. The front end began shaking violently forcing me to brake and slow to approximately 30mph before it stopped. I believe this type of incident is referred to as a "Death Wobble". Fortunately, I wasn't injured nor was anyone else and traffic was only moderately busy. I checked the front suspension and couldn't find any issues. The truck has 104,000 mi on it and is well maintained.

While driving on [XXX] from Tucson Arizona to Silver City New Mexico the passenger front side window exploded out into millions of pieces. weather was not hot or cold, driving conditions were good, traveling about 80 miles per hour. The death wobble if I’m on the highway it’ll start wobbling to the point of no control. I have replaced shocks and joints tires pretty much everything but it still does it. I looked it up and was told to report here.

Front end suspension has on several occasions began to violently shake. It appears that the driver side front wheel begins to bounce rapidly after hitting large or small defects within the road surface. This occurs only when driving on highway type roads where posted speeds typically exceed 55. (Texas has some posted speeds of 80 mph and I drive this area often) Numerous times during this occurrence I have had little to no control of my truck's direction of travel. The only solution to date that has worked is to slow down to a near stop while still in the middle of high speed traffic. When this "death wobble" occurs, I have zero control of my vehicle as far as steering is concerned. We no longer allow our children to ride in the truck with us as this has become a dangerous driving environment. Additionally the violence of this wobble aggravates an pre-existing medical issue within my neck and head. (Veteran with (2) TBI's and severe nerve damage in my neck) The dealership has confirmed the issue and suggested I replace the front suspension and my tires. (My tires still had 20K+ miles left on them) The vehicle has been taken to a dealer for the vast majority of it's service and maintenance. I have mentioned the "death wobble" on several occasions' and even agreed to have the entire front end suspension along with all four tires be replaced. This seemed to have fixed the issue in the short term, but it has returned with considerably more violent shaking than before. I asked the

I just had new breaks and rotors, shocks and some small front end parts replaced. Alignment also completed. While driving south on I-17 down from sunset point at 75 mph the speed limit, I went over a small bump or hole on the road and the death wobble started and violently began to wobnble from passenger side to driver side, or jumping or boucing 6" to 12". items in the door storage and on the dash where tossed about. I began pumping the breaks until the wobble stopped at about 35 mph. I have owned four f 350 one ton trucks with over 500,000 miles driven. this is the first time I have had this happen. I was asked by another f350 owner if I had ever had this happen before. I now know WHY IT IS CALLED THE DEATH WOBBLE. I cant believe I made it through this. There a BIG PROBLEM HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

When i hit a bump or pot hole the truck front end goes out of control at speeds of about 50 to 70 mostly making it shimmy out of control.i have replaced most everything on the front end at my cost and it still does it.what is scary is that you dont know when it is going to happen.this truck is a 350 ford super duty ford with 92464 miles.i understand there is a Defect on the front end of these trucks.this is a big truck to hold when it starts.Someone is going to get killed or kill someone else if they dont get this taken care of and im makeing notice of this problem.

I lost control of the vehicle on the highway due to a "Death Wobble" in the steering system. It threw me into the next lane and I was lucky to survive. This happened on an interstate highway at about 55 MPH. It included violent shaking in the steering after passing over a minor bump in the road and came without warning. Ford replaced the steering damper under warranty. I still get this condition but not as bad as the original. Ford tells me everything looks fine but I am totally uncomfortable with this situation.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-350. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the front end of the vehicle started shaking uncontrollably. The contact stated he was able to slow the vehicle down and safely drive the vehicle to his destination. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed with a failed steering stabilizer shock. The contact was informed that the stabilizer shock need replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.
