Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles. A malfunction in the antilock-brake system (ABS) module may incorrectly illuminate the brake lights and disable the ABS and electronic stability control (ESC). In addition, the vehicle operator may be able to start and shift out of Park without the brake pedal being applied.

Risk. A vehicle that can be started and shifted out of Park without applying the brake pedal can result in a vehicle rollaway. Disabled ABS and ESC systems can reduce vehicle handling and control in certain driving situations. Brake lights that incorrectly illuminate can fail to properly indicate the driver's intention to following traffic. Any of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the integrated pressure transducer and update the ABS module software, as necessary free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 16, 2025. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is 94B. This recall replaces previous recall number 22V-426. Vehicles previously remedied under 22V-426 will need to have the new remedy completed.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Ram 1500 and 2014-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with 3.0L Diesel engines. The crankshaft position sensor tone wheel may delaminate, causing the engine to lose its ability to synchronize the fuel injector pulses and cam shaft timing, possibly resulting in an engine stall.

Risk. An engine stall can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will update the powertrain control module software to maintain vehicle propulsion, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed August 3, 2023. Some owner notification letters were mailed October 31, 2023. The remaining owner notification letters will be mailed at a future date, anticipated July 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and 2014-2019 Ram 1500 vehicles equipped with 3.0L diesel engines. A high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) failure may introduce internal debris into the fuel system, potentially resulting in fuel starvation.

Risk. Fuel starvation may result in an unexpected loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the HPFP, and inspect and replace, if necessary, additional fuel system components, free of charge. Interim notification letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed July 21, 2022. Owner notification letters for were mailed for Jeep Grand Cherokee owners starting January 11, 2024. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles. A malfunction in the antilock-brake system (ABS) module may illuminate the brake lights, and allow the vehicle to start and shift out of Park without the brake pedal being applied.

Risk. A vehicle that starts and shifts out of Park without applying the brake pedal can result in vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash without prior warning and/or injury to others outside of the vehicle.

Remedy. This recall is replaced by NHTSA recall number 24V838. Vehicles already repaired under this recall will need to have the new remedy completed. The remedy includes updated HCU/ABS module software that prevents the HCU/ABS module from falsely reading pressure in the primary circuit. FCA has decided to do a two-Phase Campaign remedy schedule. Phase 1 began November 17, 2022. Phase 2 begin date has not been determined yet. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed July 28, 2020. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with the 3.0L EcoDiesel engines. The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler may crack and allow pre-heated vaporized coolant to enter the EGR system. This mixture may combust inside the intake manifold.

Risk. Combustion in the intake manifold can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy. FCA US LLC will notify owners, and dealers will replace the EGR cooler, free of charge. Dealers will also inspect and, as necessary, replace the intake manifold. Parts are not currently available. Owners were mailed an interim notification on December 21, 2021. A second notification will be mailed when parts are available, currently expected to be around March 11, 2021. The recall began March 11, 2021. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2020 Jeep Gladiator and Jeep Cherokee, 2019-2020 Ram 1500 Pickup, Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler, and Jeep Renegade and 2019 Dodge Challenger vehicles equipped with 8.4" or 12" radio displays. A software error can cause the rearview camera image to remain displayed after the vehicle has been shifted out of reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rearview Mirrors."

Risk. The lingering rearview image can distract the driver, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler has notified owners, and dealers will update the radio display software, free of charge. Optionally, owners can choose to remotely update their software via an Over-The-Air (OTA) update available as of May 1, 2020. The recall began April 27, 2020. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles. The front differential may have been assembled with pinion gears that are insufficiently hardened, which can lead to the gear teeth wearing down. If both pinion gears have their teeth sufficiently worn off, torque power can not be transferred from the front wheels to the driveline, resulting in loss of power while driving and loss of the PARK function when stationary.

Risk. A sudden loss of power while driving or loss of the transmission PARK function can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front differential, free of charge. The recall began May 21, 2020. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is W22.

The dashboard screen is delaminating allowing it to malfunction and makes it difficult to connect phones or other equipment needed to operate the car safely. Jeep is saying it's not under warranty or official recall despite many others reporting the same issues online.

Service engine light came on and code read misfire. Tech said that ignition coil one needs replaced and it needed a tune up. They replaced all ignition coils, spark plugs and intake manifold gasket with tune up. Tech said that coolant looked low and checked the reservoir. He said there's a lot of chunks and dried out looking coolant in the reservoir. Recommended a coolant flush at the dealership. Tune up cost almost 1000 dollars. A few days later my teenage son was driving on the highway at 70 mph and out of nowhere a engine overheating warning flashed and the temperature went all the way up and then down and back and forth. My son had to try and get pulled off of the busy highway while overheating. Car was blowing out white smoke. He was stranded over an hour away from home. Had to have car towed. Was told by the mechanic the next day that the plastic oil cooler had cracked and the oil got into the coolant. Causing the engine to fail at only 104,807 miles! Cost for a new motor was 10,400! Shop said he just had the same thing happen on another vehicle with the same engine the week before mine! I had to pay out of pocket for the new engine. Obviously there's a safety defect in the plastic oil cooler causing several people to experience the same thing happening! There was no warning before the oil got into the coolant. We found a huge spillage in our driveway and it had a color of yellowish Brown. Took it to the dealership tech found oil and coolant were mixed together and coming out of the overflow tank. Because the oil in the coolant mixed together, it went through all the components in the engine and it is a total loss. The car does not work and it needs a new engine. Had another independent car shop. Look at the car in they agreed. We had no signs of warning of anything being wrong with the car. It ran fine. The temperature gauge remained normal and never overheated. I am reading about a class action lawsuit about this situation that happened to multiple Jeep Grand Cherokees. Since the dealership told us it's a total loss. If you wanted to fix it, it will cost us over $10,000. The mechanic told us that this is not drivable even if you try to drive the engine will 09lock up and you can get into a major accident or even cause one.

I recently was driving and my headlights went out, then smoke appeared on the passenger side of my car and immediately caught fire and my car was completely burned down.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly ran over an object, causing the vehicle to jerk hard to the left. The contact stated that the guard rail became lodged against the tire, causing the vehicle to turn in the opposite direction into oncoming traffic. The contact stated that the two passenger-side wheels swung, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and drove into a ravine. After the crash, the contact stated that the air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained injuries and was transported to a local emergency room. The contact sustained deep tissue contusions, a fractured sternum and tailbone, and fluid was found near the heart due to the contact striking the steering wheel during the crash. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a salvage yard. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

While operating the vehicle at a low speed, it has on multiple occasions decelerated, stopped, and displayed the message "Shift to P, then desired gear." This issue has been observed on both the highway during rush hour and on local streets. No diagnostic trouble codes are present when the system is scanned.

2019 Jeep grand Cherokee, noticed to have leaking water pump, engine showed no signs of overheating. Water pump and thermostat changed due to a small fluctuating of temp gauge but never over the half way mark. Took it in for diagnostics, which, after reading many reviews of ongoing issues with head gaskets in jeeps, even after Jeep said they remedy it in 2016, I asked for diagnostics done on my radiator and head gaskets to only see it was in fact leaking head gaskets. There was no signs other than a leaking water pump and small fluctuation when the water pump started to leak, but engine never read that it was overheating nor did oil temp. Seems to be an ongoing issue with the 3.6L engines that Jeep is still selling and a lot of people are paying for major engine repairs, at such lower mileages.

One day after driving the vehicle around town and after we parked it in the garage, we noticed a large pool of oil on the garage floor. After taking it to a service station, for inspection, we were told that the oil leak was caused by a cracked plastic oil cooler. We were told if we had not noticed the oil leak, the engine could have locked up and caused a serious accident. The next day we were going to take the vehicle on the highway for a trip. The service station said they have had multiple cracked plastic oil coolers come in for repairs on the same vehicle, year, make and model. There was no warning.

The contact stated after the dealer had performed the recall repair under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V838000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); the brakes started making an abnormal squealing sound while driving the same day, and it felt like a part underneath the vehicle was separating. I am reporting a safety concern involving my 2019 Jeep. The primary systems of concern include the Forward Collision Warning/Automatic Emergency Braking system, front camera/driver-assistance system, electrical/communication network, PCM/ECM communication system, transmission/driveability system, and related control modules or sensors. While driving, the Jeep’s forward collision system activated unexpectedly. The vehicle reacted as though it detected an imminent collision, even though there was no appropriate reason for the system to activate in that manner. This created a serious safety risk because unexpected activation of a collision-warning or braking-related system can cause sudden driver reaction, loss of control, or a rear-end collision with vehicles behind me. This incident did not occur in isolation. The vehicle had been brought to the selling/servicing dealership, Bill Luke Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Phoenix, Arizona, numerous times before and after the safety incident. Issues began as early as approximately 3,523 miles. Between 2019 and 2025, the vehicle was taken to the dealership more than 19 times for recurring mechanical, electrical, diagnostic, and safety-related concerns. However, the vehicle was inspected multiple times by Bill Luke Chrysler, including several visits before the forward collision incident. My concern is that these may not be isolated failures, but part of a broader electrical, communication, sensor, or control-module issue affecting multiple

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked with the vehicle off and occupied by the contact and her children, the headrest unexpectedly disengaged erroneously. The clips were fractured when the contact looked inside the air bag storage of the headrest. The contact sustained an injury to the back of her head and pain on the right side of the neck. The contact returned to the residence. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle experienced failure of the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), including illumination of ABS and traction control warning lights. The failure was confirmed by a dealership, which identified an internal ABS module failure and wheel speed sensor issues. These components are available for inspection upon request. This issue is associated with Safety Recall 94B, which addresses defects within the ABS system. At the time of failure, there was no remedy available under this recall. The failure impacted critical safety systems, including braking stability and traction control, creating a potential safety risk, particularly during braking or adverse driving conditions where ABS functionality is essential. The issue was reproduced and confirmed by an authorized dealership, which replaced the ABS module and related components after diagnostic testing. Prior to failure, warning indicators including ABS and traction control lights were present on the dashboard. A recall remedy for Safety Recall 94B was later released. However, despite the failure involving the same system identified in the recall, the manufacturer has denied that the repair is related, without providing a technical explanation. This raises concern regarding whether similar safety-related failures are being consistently identified and addressed.

I just had a recall repair for my ABS system which was electrical done to my 2019 jeep grand Cherokee. I drove off the lot with it but the next day it wouldn't start, I called the dealership back for an inspection but they stated I would have to pay for a diagnostic. I stated the code that came up when I hooked my OBD scanner up the code for my park, neutral, switch input circuit popped up. I told the dealership numerous times about the code but they are ignoring the code and saying it is my starter and batteries. Mind you I take it to this dealership all the time I never once heard them say I needed any of these things until now. So I told them I need a diagnostic on the electrical issue but once again they are brushing off the circuit code and jumping to the starter but stated I would have to pay $2,319 for a starter and see what comes up, which means spending money for something that is not the problem.

The air suspension / Quadra-Lift system on my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with approximately 87,000 miles has failed and is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle is becoming stuck in Off Road 1 ride height and will not reliably return to normal height. When I am able to get it to lower, it raises itself back into Off Road 1 again without command. I also observed that one wheel/corner of the vehicle was sitting higher than the others, indicating the suspension may be uneven or malfunctioning. This creates a serious safety risk because the vehicle height changes unexpectedly and remains in an elevated off-road mode not intended for normal road use. It can affect handling, steering stability, braking, visibility, headlight aim, tire wear, and rollover risk, especially at highway speeds or during emergency maneuvers. Uneven ride height from one side to another further increases the risk of loss of control. Prior to complete failure, symptoms included abnormal vehicle stance and the suspension not responding normally to ride height changes. Warning messages/lights: UNKNOWN at time of filing. The problem has not yet been confirmed by a dealer or independent repair facility, but online research shows many owners reporting similar Quadra-Lift air suspension failures around similar mileage. The front seatbelt latch on my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee will not latch or secure properly. The buckle fails to engage when inserted, leaving the seatbelt unusable. This creates a serious safety hazard because the occupant cannot be restrained while the vehicle is in motion. The issue occurs every time the seatbelt is used and has not resolved on its own.

Our office has received several notices for a recall on this vehicle regarding the Anti-lock Brake system module. The first notice was post marked 6/3/24 with recall code Z48/NHTSA 22V-426. The second notice was for a 94B/NHTSA 24V-838 recall postmarked 12-4-2024 and another employee took it in to a dealership on 2-12-2025 to be repaired. We have received two more notices, one in January 2026 and another in April 2026 with the same recall code. I called the dealership both times and they claimed both times, to not have parts for the recall. This is a federal vehicle used for public service work. We would like to get this resolved so that we do not have any safety issues in the workplace.
