Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Ram 1500 and 2014-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with 3.0L Diesel engines. The crankshaft position sensor tone wheel may delaminate, causing the engine to lose its ability to synchronize the fuel injector pulses and cam shaft timing, possibly resulting in an engine stall.

Risk. An engine stall can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will update the powertrain control module software to maintain vehicle propulsion, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed August 3, 2023. Some owner notification letters were mailed October 31, 2023. The remaining owner notification letters will be mailed at a future date, anticipated July 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 66A. This recall is an expansion of recall 20V-475.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and 2014-2019 Ram 1500 vehicles equipped with 3.0L diesel engines. A high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) failure may introduce internal debris into the fuel system, potentially resulting in fuel starvation.

Risk. Fuel starvation may result in an unexpected loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the HPFP, and inspect and replace, if necessary, additional fuel system components, free of charge. Interim notification letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed July 21, 2022. Owner notification letters for were mailed for Jeep Grand Cherokee owners starting January 11, 2024. Owner notification letters for Ram 1500 owners were mailed March 7, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLS's number for this recall is Z46.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with the 3.0L EcoDiesel engines. The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler may crack and allow pre-heated vaporized coolant to enter the EGR system. This mixture may combust inside the intake manifold.

Risk. Combustion in the intake manifold can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy. FCA US LLC will notify owners, and dealers will replace the EGR cooler, free of charge. Dealers will also inspect and, as necessary, replace the intake manifold. Parts are not currently available. Owners were mailed an interim notification on December 21, 2021. A second notification will be mailed when parts are available, currently expected to be around March 11, 2021. The recall began March 11, 2021. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Ram 1500 and 2014-2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with 3.0L diesel engines. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

Risk. If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the software, and perform a software flash on the engine or powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began June 4, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Note: Owners are advised to stop using cruise control until the software update has been performed. In the event that cruise control cannot be disengaged while driving, owners should firmly and steadily apply the brakes and shift the transmission to neutral, placing the vehicle in park once it has stopped.

Defect. Accessible Technologies, Inc. (ATI) is recalling certain ProCharger Superchargers, model numbers AB037A-100, AB037A-100P, and A037A-100B, sold for installation on 2012-2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 and SRT vehicles. The supercharger mounting bracket may contact and damage the ABS line, possibly resulting in a brake fluid leak.

Risk. A brake fluid leak may lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. ATI will notify owners and will replace the supercharger brackets, free of charge. The recall began on December 12, 2017. Owners may contact ATI customer service at 1-913-338-2886.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2012-2014 Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 vehicles manufactured February 15, 2011, to November 27, 2014, and 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured July 16, 2012, to December 22, 2015. The affected vehicles, equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a monostable gear selector, may not adequately warn the driver when driver's door is opened and the vehicle is not in PARK, allowing them to exit the vehicle while the vehicle is still in gear.

Risk. Drivers thinking that their vehicle's transmission is in the PARK position may be struck by the vehicle and injured if they attempt to get out of the vehicle while the engine is running and the parking brake is not engaged.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle software to mitigate the risk of vehicle rollaway, free of charge. The recall began on June 24, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S27. Note: On October 19, 2016 Chrysler identified some previously repaired vehicles did not receive the complete software updates. Chrysler will renotify the affected owners, and dealers will update the software again.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles manufactured December 9, 2015, to January 14, 2016. In the affected vehicles, the left front brake caliper may crack due to being made from an incorrect material.

Risk. A cracked brake caliper may lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle and increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the front left brake caliper and depending on its casting date, replace it, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on May 12, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S16.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles manufactured June 12, 2015, to June 20, 2015. The affected vehicles may be equipped with rear lower control arms that may have been incorrectly heat treated. This may cause the rear lower control arm to fracture.

Risk. If the rear lower control arm fractures it may result in a change in ride height, loss of rear end stability, and reduced braking capabilities, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and if necessary replace the lower control arms, free of charge. The recall began July 29, 2015. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500, 2015 Chrysler 200, Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and Dodge Challenger, 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, and Dodge Durango, and 2013-2015 Dodge Viper vehicles. The affected vehicles are equipped with radios that have software vulnerabilities that can allow third-party access to certain networked vehicle control systems.

Risk. Exploitation of the software vulnerability may result in unauthorized remote modification and control of certain vehicle systems, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify and mail affected owners a USB drive that includes a software update that eliminates the vulnerability, free of charge. Optionally, owners may download the update to their own USB drive from http://www.driveuconnect.com/software-update/ or take their vehicle to a Chrysler dealer for immediate installation. In an effort to mitigate the effects of this security vulnerability, Chrysler has had the wireless service provider close the open cellular connection to the vehicle that provided unauthorized access to the vehicle network. This measure may not have been implemented on all vehicles and does not address access by other means that will be remedied by the software update. The recall began on August 25, 2015. My jeep turned off while i was driving at 50 mph, it was throwing code P016F the fuel Pump went bad on it on 10/17/2026 i called Stelllantis and opened a case, the case # is 98439560 the fuel pump failed they refused to honor the Z46 recall on the fuel pump again. the recall was done on 9/3/2024

The issue I am reporting involves the Active Head Restraint system on my vehicle. I have been victim to the inadvertent deployment of this system not once, not twice, but three times now... In February of 2024 the driver and passenger headrests were replaced under the x88 warranty extension. As far as I know, those were the original headrests that had been replaced after they inadvertently deployed (fortunately, while no one was in the seat). Here we are, only 2.5 years later and one of the NEW headrests has failed in the same way! Once again, we were fortunate that no one was in the vehicle when it happened. My issues are these: -I am a disabled veteran with neck issues, and appear to be driving a vehicle where the head rest is a ticking time bomb. -The faulty headrests were replaced, but apparently with headrests equally faulty. -I can not afford to get rid of my vehicle, I can not in good conscience sell my vehicle at fair market value knowing it is defective, so I am stuck. -The x88 warranty extension is past the 10 years since the original headrests were put in service...but I am now dealing with a 2.5 year old headrest that has failed... -What happens if my headrest deploys while I'm driving down the road..? With my underlying medical issues, what would that do to me? Will it cause me to wreck? Will my loss of control of my vehicle impact another family on the road? WHY WAS A KNOWN FAULTY COMPONENT NOT REPLACED WITH A REENGINEERED COMPONENT THAT REMEDIED THE UNDERLYING

The driver side active head restraint deployed with zero warning and without any external forces upon the vehicle. This is now the second front row head restraint to deploy in this manner. The passenger side deployed while our teenage daughter was sitting in the car which was stationary at the time. She suffered a head and neck injury due to this malfunction. Stellantis replaced that one and “Promised” to replace the driver side but did not follow thru on that.

The contact owned a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while her son was driving approximately 65 MPH on a curvy highway road, the vehicle started skidding to the right and crashed into a barrier, causing the vehicle to slide to the left and to strike another barrier. The air bags did not deploy. The driver sustained injuries to the neck, back, and right shoulder, requiring medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed and deemed a total loss. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.

The contact rented a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH or higher, the steering wheel shook violently. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the front left tie rod, brake assembly, gear shifter, tires, and several electrical components required replacement or repair. As instructed, the vehicle was returned to the rental business. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000. The VIN was not available.

My jeep diesel had the software update for the crankshaft sensor tone ring, but the tone ring failed, and my car is stuck in limp mode. Is the replacement of the tone ring covered under the original recall,or do I have to pay for the repair?

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 45 MPH, there was a loud pop before the front passenger’s side headrest unexpectedly deployed. The dealer was contacted and confirmed the passenger’s side headrest failure. The manufacturer was contacted by phone and certified mail and made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

The contact owned a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while her son was driving approximately 40-45 MPH, the electronic control warning light illuminated before the failure. The contact pulled over and turned off the vehicle; however, the vehicle independently restarted. The contact exited the vehicle shortly afterwards, and the vehicle suddenly caught on fire. The fire department extinguished the fire. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Complaint Number: 20V699000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The manufacturer was contacted by email and phone and opened a claim. The claim was declined. The investigator had taken photos. The contact was informed that the mileage had been exceeded. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

The tire pressure monitor system, the egr cooler. I had to change the egr the thermostat twice the engine the radiator the water pump and two oxygen sensors. The egr cooler is not recalled for my year but my truck was doin the same thing. The car still has a burning oil smell when the heat is on and the air don’t work

Recall 20V-475 / 23V-411 software patch was performed, but the underlying magnetic tone wheel defect has now physically failed, causing an active crankshaft position sensor error and stall hazard. While traveling 60mph the car stalled and went into limp mode with no prior warning. The vehicle has been diagnosed at a repair shop as a fault with the crankshaft position sensor performance which was apart of a pervious recall listed above. The vehicle has not been inspected by any others at this time as its not safe to drive and do not want out of pocket cost to do so.

I own a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit 4x4 with the 3.0L EcoDiesel, with approximately 113,170 miles. The vehicle has experienced multiple intermittent episodes of “Service Electronic Throttle Control.” During the most recent episode, the vehicle briefly jerked/lurched forward and then experienced a significant loss of engine power/boost. I scanned the vehicle and found DTC P0336 (Crankshaft Position Sensor A Performance, intermittent). Clearing the code temporarily restored normal operation, but the fault later returned. During the most recent recurrence, the engine also cranked noticeably longer than normal before starting. FCA previously issued safety recall W79 concerning loss of crankshaft-position signal on these vehicles. The recall involved a software update intended to maintain engine operation using the camshaft signal if the crankshaft signal is lost. FCA also lists warranty extension X95 concerning the 3.0L diesel crankshaft tone wheel. FCA technical documentation identifies P0336 as a possible symptom associated with crankshaft tone-wheel magnetic material failure. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by a dealer or independent shop to confirm the physical cause. I have stopped driving it because I am concerned that an intermittent crankshaft-position problem could result in unexpected loss of motive power, engine stalling, or inability to restart. The Active Head Restraint (AHR) deployed without a collision while I was slowing to a traffic signal. My vehicle was travelling approximately 5-7mph and slowing to a traffic signal when the Active Head Rest deployed, launching my head and trunk forward to the steering wheel. The Jeep Service Representative informed me that this is a well-known issue and the NHTSA closed the investigation without ordering a recall. (PE19014, opened 2019) The failure mechanism is reported to be mechanical as the AHR relies on a plastic bracket holding a metal rod that connects to hooks meant to trigger only in a rear-end crash, and that plastic simply fails under prolonged tension over time with no warning signs beforehand.

My power lift gate closed unexpectedly and at a pace faster than usual. The lift gate came down on my head and compressed my neck. I have not tried the power lift gate again for fear of it breaking and not being able to be closed. The power lift gate has been sticking shut and not opening some times.

I was driving home on the freeway from picking my kids up from school and all the sudden there was a loud crashing noise and my head was slammed forward and when I looked back to calm down my kids, I see that the headrest had just snapped and pushed forward, slamming me in the head

The passenger seat belt does not retract. Also my passenger head rest just came out 1 day.

Car was parked. When I returned the passenger head rest had popped. No accident.

While driving home from the gym with my daughter in the front passenger seat, we were traveling less than 40 mph under normal driving conditions. Without warning, I heard a very loud pop/bang from inside the vehicle. We had not been in a collision, had not hit anything, and nothing had struck the vehicle. I immediately looked over and saw my daughter crouched down in her seat holding her neck. At first, I could not determine what had happened. I then noticed that the front passenger-side Active Head Restraint (AHR)/headrest had suddenly deployed or come apart and had struck her from behind. There were no warning lights, messages, alerts, or other symptoms before the incident. The deployment occurred suddenly and without any apparent event that should have triggered this safety system. My daughter sustained a neck injury as a result of the unexpected deployment and was taken to the hospital for evaluation and treatment. She was placed in a neck brace and had to wear it for approximately one week. The incident also created a safety risk while the vehicle was in motion. The sudden loud bang and my daughter's immediate reaction occurred without warning while I was driving, and I initially did not know whether something had struck the vehicle or what had happened to her. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by a dealer, manufacturer, insurance representative, police, or independent service center. This car has broke down on me 3xs bc of the faulty pump relay. At the car wash with my children, at work, and home this vehicle has left me stranded. Now up to $1600 in repairs all while my car is broke down AGAIN for the 3rd time

Part of the headrest assembly fractured suddenly causing the headrest to burst while I was sitting in the passenger seat. i was immediately sore from my shoulders up. there were no warning lights or recalls on my vehicle at the time.

The Jeep case involves a 2015 Grand Cherokee Overland with both front seat belts requiring replacement under Jeep's 15-year seat belt warranty extension. My car started jumping after purchssing it in November 2025 used. The gear would feel like it was slipping. In March 2026 I parked my car turned it off let off the brake and it rolled. I have used the emergency brake since then. The gas gauge is off. The miles and gauge do not line up correctly and I was advised fuel pump may be off. It will drink gas up within a few miles. Check engine light came on without warning. Took it to check it out said oil sensor. He said replace it soon as you can still driveable. The employee said he had never seen these codes populate. He asked if i had smelled any transmission fluid burning. I said no. No leaks nothing. Had the car for 7 months. The check engine came on as I was driving to work the other morning, and when I got back in the car to head home for the night, my car wouldn't start at all. I have a failed High Pressure Fuel Pump system. I used my own OBD-II code reader, and got back code P0087. This issue is connected to the FCA Z46 recall issued in June 2022. The previous owner/dealership performed the service for this specific recall in May 2024 and was marked as complete. I became the current owner of this Jeep in October 2024, just 5 months after the recall was completed. I have personally driven this vehicle for only 20,000 miles since I took over ownership, which means that the new replacement parts covered under the Z46 recall failed at no more than 25,000 miles. This part is stated to last 100,000+ miles. Not 20-25k miles. However, Mopar states that recall parts are only covered for two years after the recall was completed. This puts the expiration for the 2 year part coverage at May 2026. It is currently June 2026. Just one month out of recall part warranty, and both Mopar and my local FCA approved dealership are refusing to honor the warranty and fix this issue for me for free, covered by the terms of the recall. No check engine lights prior to this, car started to make a noise pulled over to check it out as I was merging over low oil pressure showed and coolant level over temperature, gear then dropped to neutral, managed to pull over without any accidents car then shut off, oil leaked, it makes a horrible engine noise when starting, had to tow it back. only had the car a year maintenance was up to date.

While driving, engine immediately shuts off. Dash, radio, lights, etc. all function as normal. Dash cluster shows an error message, saying to shift into Park. After parking vehicle on shoulder, engine turns over but does not restart after several attempts. After awhile, engine finally restarts. No error codes or messages are displayed. Scanning with an OBD device shows no stored or pending error codes. Vehicle now operates normally. This has happened twice in the span of two weeks, and never previously.

Despite having the EGR replaced under recall the unit still exploded while driving on wed 4 Mar 2026. Fluids were leaking and had indicated issues with the electric shifter. The local dealerships states the egr cooler needs replaced, coolant tank, DPF and oil change (despite just being done the Saturday before). Refusing to acknowledge any connection to previous recall or associated damages. Contacted FCA customer support and ignored my concerns and said just pay the dealer the $6000+.

2/24/26 around 10:45am CST the passenger seat headrest exploded/combusted with a very loud popping noise while driving the car 40 mph on a smooth surface road. Luckily nobody was sitting in the passenger seat. I don't want to drive my car as now I'm afraid this will happen to the driver's seat headrest.

Oil levels were normal and maintenance records are available. No warning of low oil pressure or overheating occurred prior to failure. Independent service center and inspector confirmed internal mechanical failure. Engine failure created risk of sudden loss of power while driving. This appears consistent with documented Pentastar 3.6L valvetrain/lifter issues reported by other owners. Concern is potential for sudden engine malfunction and safety risk due to power loss.
