Defect. Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2008 Chrysler 300 vehicles manufactured May 31, 2007, to May 12, 2008, Dodge Magnum vehicles manufactured May 23, 2007, to May 12, 2008, Dodge Charger vehicles manufactured May 24, 2007, to May 12, 2008, Jeep Commander vehicles manufactured April 3, 2007, to May 12, 2008, and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured March 21, 2007, to May 12, 2008. In the affected vehicles, the ignition key (FOBIK) may not return to the "ON" position after being rotated to the "START" position, instead sticking between the two positions. Potentially, while the vehicle is being driven, the ignition may inadvertently move through the "RUN" position to the "ACCESSORY" or "OFF" ignition position, turning off the engine.

Risk. If the ignition stays between "START" and "ON" positions it could cause loss of certain electrical functions. If the ignition key inadvertently moves into the "OFF" or "ACCESSORY" position, the engine will turn off, which will then depower various key safety systems including but not limited to air bags, power steering, and power braking. Loss of functionality of these systems may increase the risk of crash and/or increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ignition switch and key FOBs, free of charge. The recall began August 19, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is P57.

Defect. Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2005-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured February 11, 2004, through March 9, 2010; and 2006-2010 Jeep Commander vehicles manufactured January 31, 2005, through March 10, 2010. A transfer case electrical failure may result in an unintentional shifting of the transfer case into the neutral position.

Risk. If the vehicle shifts into neutral, it may roll away increasing the risk of a crash or personal injury.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will reflash the final drive controller which governs the transfer case, with new software, free of charge. The recall began on August 15, 2013. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753. Chrysler's recall campaign number is N23.

Defect. ROCK KRAWLER IS RECALLING 44 PERFORMANCE SUSPENSION SYSTEMS SOLD AS AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT FOR USE ON THE VEHICLE LISTED ABOVE. THESE SUSPENSION SYSTEMS WERE PRODUCED WITH GRADE 2 CARRIAGE BOLTS INSTEAD OF THE PROPER GRADE 5 CARRIAGE BOLTS. THE IMPROPER GRADE 2 CARRIAGE BOLTS COULD EXPERIENCE A LOSS OF CLAMPING FORCE FOR THE BOTTOM STRUT FORK.

Risk. THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE A LOSS OF EFFECTIVE LIFT AND LOWERING OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLE, POSSIBLY CREATING THE DRIVER TO PANIC WHICH COULD POSSIBLY LEAD TO A VEHICLE CRASH.

Remedy. ROCK KRAWLER WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND PROVIDE A FREE REMEDY. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 15. 2008. ALL THE AFFECTED UNTITS HAVE BEEN REMEDIED. OWNERS MAY CONTACT ROCK KRAWLER AT 1-518-270-9822.

Defect. CHRYSLER IS RECALLING 1,338 MY 2008 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND COMMANDER VEHICLES. THE FRONT CONTROL MODULE MAY HAVE BEEN INCORRECTLY MANUFACTURED.

Defect. ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS IN A CERTAIN LOT MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED FROM GRAY IRON INSTEAD OF DUCTILE IRON AS DESIGNED AND COULD FRACTURE WITHOUT WARNING.

Risk. THIS WOULD INCREASE THE VEHICLE'S STOPPING DISTANCE AND COULD CAUSE A CRASH.

The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While stopped in traffic, the vehicle stalled with the engine oil warning light illuminated. The contact parked, turned off, and then restarted the vehicle. Additionally, the windshield wipers intermittently activated while driving. 5.7L Hemi Engine fire. The primary cause was a wire harness retention clip failure that allows the starter wiring harness to lay on the steering column. As it turns, it cuts into the harness and provides battery voltage to the steering column. In my case, there was a power steering fluid leak combined with the electrified steering assembly started a fire. Any similar combustible fluid would have the same result. It may be a potential recall that should be investigated. VIN 8C244809. Incident occurred on 1-28-26. I have video footage of the issue if needed.

Driver's steering wheel airbag malfunctioned and deployed unexpectedly while backing into a parking space. Safety of passengers through potential of bodily injury and car crash due to lack of sight and sudden explosion/deployment of airbag while car is actively being driven could have been causedby this malfunction. Various incidents of this safety issue have been reported, but no recalls have been officiated yet for this specific year and model. Vehicle has not inspected yet, it just occurred this morning. Insurance was notified, but said it needed to be inspected by a mechanic or dealership. Airbag light came on today for the first time while driving home and then airbag malfunctioned/deployed while parking.

When driving it will randomly shift into 4th gear very hard and stay in 4th until you turn it off. It will happen at any speed and be fine for months or do have the issues consistently for long period of time then stop. It happens with no pattern or related reasons.

Dear Sirs: Two months ago I went to the local Jeep Dealer (Taraborelli, in Bariloche, Argentina) asking for 4 incomplete recalls. Two were completed but, in particular the number 57, the local dealer informed me that they asked MOPAR for spare parts (CDBOH113 -680050499AA- and CBTTP578AA and CBTTP57LAA) without any response from MOPAR. To my surprise the recalls appear now as "completed"! The dealer received my complaint and asked me to report the problem. They are waiting for the spare parts to complete recall repairing. What I'm expected to do about this problem?. Original recals were N11, N23, P57 and P73, those related with software were resolved but for P57 they required spare parts to MOPAR it is very important affecting the driving. Ignition switch sticking in on position. Making electrical type sound and a burrrr sound. Called Jeep corporate and told not on recall list.I See recall for 2008 jeep grand Cherokee for this exact issue but they say not for Laredo.

My Wireless Ignition Node is showing a failure. Key Fob not recognized and displays unknown key warning. Leading to the failure, the key would get stuck in the start position and I had to manually return the key to the on position. The front calipers had also recently been replaced when my mechanic noticed it was defective. All of these incidents occured before I was aware there were any recalls on the vehicle, but now that I am aware; all of the incidents leading up to the WIN failure make more sense. I brought my concerns to the dealer and they were of no help in resolving my issue. My mechanic, in his best opinion, also believes these issues should be considered under the recall for the Ignition system relating to the recall.

My 2008 jeep grand cheroke has caught on fire multiple times & started smoking. The rpms would always jump High and one day I went to go leave and it went real high causing it to accelerate on its own and went I went to go try to stop it my breaks failed and emergency brake would not work.

While driving down the interstate at approximately 75mph to 80 mph, the driver side air bag curtain deployed with no warning or indication. There was no impact or bump in the road to cause vibration or a false signal to trigger the activation of the air curtain. I was simply driving the vehicle as normal when it deployed. When the airbags deployed, it caused me to swerve due to fear of the load noise, physical impact of air curtain, and visual interference. Fortunately, there was no traffic in the adjacent lanes, and I was able to get to the shoulder of the interstate. After I assessed the situation and calmed my nerves I navigated to my destination under the risk of visual impedance on the driver side. Emergency services was not contacted. The vehicle was not inspected by a professional however it was discussed with certified mechanics. In addition, I contacted the manufacturer in which they responded with..."There are no recalls for this vehicle, the vehicle is 16 years old with over 150K miles therefore they will do nothing. Regardless of the mileage and vehicle age, this should NOT have happened as there was no cause for it to happen. Luckily no additional damage took place or any major injury or fatality.

The interior lights like dashboard/radio/a.c lights flicker while I'm driving. Its seems like some kind of short cause my the bulb on my right tail light seems to go out a lot more than any other light. When im parked and any door gets opened the dome lights flicker on and off even when I have it to be off when when the doors open. Also my headlights look like moist of some sort, dont see any cracks for that to happen. Due to the moisture or maybe not even related to it but the headlights dont even look like theyre on

At approximately 12:05 pm on Monday, 6/12/23, I was making a right turn into a parking spot in front of Golden1 Credit Union, at 1040 E. Cypress Avenue. I was halfway into the turn when my driver's airbag deployed, striking me in the stomach and right hand and forearm. Despite being startled by the loud explosion, I managed to finish parking without hitting either the vehicle next to me or the curb. Approximately 1-2 minutes later, there was a second explosion from the airbag that sprayed small particles at me, again striking my right forearm. The incident left three superficial burn marks on my hand and arm. (I did not photograph them until this moment; only one mark is still visible.) My first thought when the airbag deployed was that I had been shot, as I heard a loud bang, smelled what I thought was gunpowder, and felt pain in my arm and stomach. I happened to be on a phone call with my spouse when it occurred (via hands-free stereo Bluetooth), so he heard the explosion followed by my shriek, and he also heard the second explosion. I had the vehicle towed to my trusted mechanics at Advanced Automotive. My service advisor was curious whether my vehicle (which I purchased used, in 2020) had been part of a safety recall in the past. The jeep goes into limp mode and gets stuck in 2 gear I have replaced the shifter solenoid and still happens I have read about this happing to the same jeep from 2005-2010 model and this is a safety issue that need to be recalled immediately. I was driving on the highway and the jeep shifted into 2nd gear mind I was going the speed limit of 65 and it went down to 30 MPH and it almost caused a pike up on the interstate.

Traveling at 55mph on Rt. 264 W. in Virginia Beach, VA the right rear tire "exploded" with no warning whatsoever and sent my vehicle out of control coming very close to impacting vehicles on either side. I regained partial control and got the vehicle onto the shoulder. My family was shaken but o.k. State Police arrived. Upon inspection there was very little left of the tire (I will upload pics). Vehicle was brought to "Discount Tire" where close inspection of the remaining tires showed steel belt protruding from the front right tire. I was amazed. The vehicle had recently passed state inspection and was well within wear limits. I paid to have the (2) obviously failed tires replaced and asked Goodyear Customer Service to pay to replace the remaining (2) - all were bought as a set from Walmart. Goodyear Customer Service refused and now I must pay for the work as no one in their right minds would drive around on the remaining (2).. There's a 50/50 chance they would fail as well! It is my understanding these are not their "top of the line tires", but I must ask when it comes to safety what possible difference can that make? We depend on our government to properly test such basic safety related items that can cause death and damage in a moment to any family. I hope the NHTSA will/does thoroughly investigate all Goodyear tires, but especially these sold primarily at Walmart if I understood correctly. The ignition turns its self off when your driving down the road. It starts back up when you turn the fob, but you have to slow down to a very slow speed before the transmission will engage and this is very dangerous when it happens in heavy traffic.

I have not owner this vehicle for very long but while driving the engine will tune off! The engine isnt stalling it straight tunes off at low speeds or high speeds. It will tune off while accelerating almost like its miss firing. Most time the vehicle will recover on it own but ultimately will tune off. This is important becuase it dose this while on the highway, in traffic and it unsafe not to mention scary.

I have owned this Jeep since approximately 2010 and is in great condition. This has been a great vehicle and has recently began to give us these issues. 1. Something is definitely wrong with the electrical system. It is available for inspection upon request. 2. Temperature gauge not reading, drivers side rear tail light and front passenger side marker lights do not work. Directional and brake light functions work only. Partial illumination on instrument panel, driver side window switch intermittently works, windshield washer intermittently works, defogger / vent function partially working, 1 horn working and vehicle reliability is the safety issue. 3. My mechanic looked at it and is was NOT surprised about all the issues at once. He mentioned the TIPM having issues as many other of his customers having the same issues. 4. My vehicle has not been inspected by anyone else but my mechanic. 5. There were engine light warning lamps that suddenly came on when the lights started to not work, then the other issues followed. Since this is an electrical issue, the vehicle has a possibility of shutting down while driving, as has happened to others.

The air bag deployed without the vehicle being in an accident. I was traveling on I80 heading East at 70mph when the airbag deployed. I have not taken it to a dealer, I can't afford the repair bill at this time. No one other than family has inspected the vehicle. It is not an insurance issue. There was no warning that the airbag was going to go off. However there is now a light on in my dash. I do not know what caused the malfunction. I was in the vehicle alone thankfully. It was the passenger side airbag. I have contacted Jeep and they are not accepting any responsibility. They declined the claim as they put it in like 2 hours via e-mail.

Electrical issues on a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee purchased June 2020. Car keeps cutting off. The ignition key seem to be sticking between the ON and START position. Constantly having to pull onto the side of the rode or having to hurry and put my hazard lights on because car cuts off. Gas pedal system failed. Sluggish acceleration when turning into traffic doesn't go past 20mph it stuck causing cars to swerve. Slow acceleration up bridges barely get up it without traffic backing up. Stop signs cars almost rear ended me truck wont move. Also crossing rail road tracks. THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE BATTERY, STARTER, AND ENGINE OIL WERE REPLACED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHCILE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MIELAGE WAS 113,000.

THE SUNROOF DRAIN DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY CAUSING WATER TO POUR OUT OF THE CENTER CEILING MAP LIGHTS,THE GARAGE DOOR CONTROL PANEL, THE DRIVER SIDE COLUMN, AND THE HANDLE TO GET INTO THE VEHICLE. THIS CAUSES A MAJOR DISTRACTION WHILE DRIVING AND ALSO CAN CAUSE SEVERE ELECTRICAL DAMAGE, WATER DAMAGE TO THE INTERIOR AND MOLD/MILDEW BUILD UP. .

I HAVE TWO 2008 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE'S. RECENTLY I BECAME AWARE OF THE FCA GROUP P57 RECALL WHICH IS AN UPDATED IGNITION CYLINDER AND WIRELESS MODULE AFTER ASKING AROUND MY CIRCLE ABOUT MY TWO VEHICLES STALLING. MOST RECENTLY MY WIFE AND CHILD WHERE DRIVING AT 110KPH DRIVING STRAIGHT WHEN HER GC SHUT OFF. SHE SAFELY PULLED TO THE SIDE BUT THIS IS EXTREMELY UNNERVING. MY GC HAS ALSO TURNED OFF, BUT MINE HAS BEEN AT LOWER SPEEDS OR WHEN IDLING. MY VIN IS [XXX] HER VIN IS [XXX] MY LOCAL DEALER HAS SAID THERE IS NO OUSTTANDING RECALL AND THAT P57 DOES NOT APPLY TO EITHER OF MY VINS. \THIS IS CONFUSING SINCE MY EXISTING IGNITION CYLINDERS ARE THE SAME AS THOSE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL AND THE NEW PART REQUIRES A PUSH-TO-TURN (MINE DO NOT HAVE THIS NOW). I RECEIVED A NOTICED BUT WAS TOLD MY BIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED WITHIN THE RECALL NOTICE. THE IGNITION KEY (FOBIK) DOES NOT RETURN TO "ON" POSITION SOMETIMES AFTER BEEN ROTATED TO THE "START" POSITION, INSTEAD STICKING BETWEEN THE TWO POSITION.

SMOKE COMING OUT OF HOOD WHILE DRIVING. PULLED INTO FIRE STATION IN MILFORD, MI AND SMOKE WAS GETTING HEAVIER. FIREMEN ASSISTED AND SAID LESS THAN A MINUTE ENTIRE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WOULD HAVE BEEN ON FIRE. WIRE CONNECTED TO ALTERNATOR WAS "SHORTING" AND SPARKS WERE MELTING CABLE WRAPPING AND PLASTIC ENGINE COVER. FIRE DEPARTMENT HAS REPORT

THE KEY FOB GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND PUT IN PARK. IF YOU SHAKE THE SHIFTER WHEN IT'S IN PARK WITH YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE KEY TURNED TO AS FAR AS IT WILL GO BEFORE TURNING THE CAR ON IT WILL USUALLY COME OUT AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS AND CYCLES OF THIS PROCESS. YESTERDAY, FOR THE FIRST TIME, IT WAS LOCKED IN THE IGNITION AND WOULDN'T TURN THE VEHICLE ON. I DON'T KNOW THAT THIS SENSOR ISSUE IS RELATED, BUT THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR IS ALWAYS ON EVEN WHEN THE TIRE PRESSURE IS FILLED TO RECOMMENDED LEVELS.

THE IGNITION WON'T TURN TO ON WHEN I PUT THE FOB IN THE IGNITION. THERE WAS A RECALL # P57 BUT IT SEEMS THAT MY VIN # DOESN'T FALL UNDER THIS RECALL. WHO CAN I SPEAK WITH REGARDING THIS? THANK YOU. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14V567000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.

DASH STARTED FLASHING AND BEEPING AND LOST POWER. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED HOME THAT COST$471.30. TALKED TO MOPAR THEY GAVE ME DEALERSHIP INFORMATION SAID THEY COULD GET ME A TOW AND LOANER CAR. I CALLED JEEP DEALERSHIP IN RAPID CITY, SD THEY SAID THEY "WONT COME GET IT OR GIVE ME A LOANER CAR BUT THE BRING IT BY ANYTIME THIS WEAK BECAUSE THEY USUALLY ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING."SO NOW IM AND HOUR AWAY WITH NO WAY TO WORK AND NO WAY TO GET JEEP TO RAPID BECAUSE OF FIRST TOW BILL.. THE MALFUNCTIONING PART HAS BEEN RECALLED ON MY 2008 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE.

WHEN FILLING UP MY JEEP WITH GAS THE FILLER NECK OVER FLOWS EVERY SINGLE TIME AND I HEARD THE COUNTERPARTS ON THE DODGE DURANGO IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND THERE IS A RECALL ON THEM FIXING THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A HUGE ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD AND SINCE OTHER JEEP OWNERS I KNOW WITH THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE.

JEEP OCCASIONALLY STALLS ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE GOING OVER 60 MPH. IT CAN'T BE RESTARTED WHILE IN NEUTRAL. MUST PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND PUT IT IN PARK. IT STARTS IMMEDIATELY ONCE IN PARK. IT HAS HAPPENED 6 TIMES OVER THE LAST 18 MONTHS. NO ERROR CODES. DEALER CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM.

WHILE DRIVING THE CAR, IT WILL COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN EVEN WHEN GOING 65 MPH ON A HIGHWAY. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES ON BOTH LOCAL ROADS AND HIGHWAY. I WILL HAVE TO COAST OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURN THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION AND THEN RESTART THE CAR. IT IS VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM NUMBER 08V059000 BUT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED. MECHANICS CANNOT FIND ISSUE.

THE ENGINE IS STALLING SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING IN HIGHWAY. ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS SHUT DOWNS AFTER THIS OCCURS. OTHER GRAND CHEROKEE HAVE RECEIVED RECALLS FOR THE SAME ISSUE (CONTROL MODULES) BUT NOT FOR MY VIN NUMBER. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE.
