Passenger seat headrest popped open. It could have been harmful if we were in the car when it happened. There was no warning. We have owned the Jeep since 2017. We do not adjust the headrests. There has been no wear and tear since we purchased, so no reason this should have broken on its own.

2015 jeep grand cherokees going into neutral on occasion while driving at speeds above 45mph. I brought my truck to jeep and expressed my concern about this safety issue and my safety. I was informed by jeep there is nothing wrong with my jeep since no codes are showing. I asked to speak to the mechanic and the mechanic told me that there is not one problem with that jeep and the 8 gear transmission is the most stable. He then said you probably put the jeep in neutral while driving. I was completely frustrated with his response and said to him, do you think I would put my jeep in neutral while driving 55mph and risk my life and possibly someone elses? I left the dealership very upset as you can imagine. A few days later it happened again and I contacted the jeep dealer to let them know the issue. Never heard back from them. I was also given the email of my service manager. I sent him a video of what happened after the car went into neutral. I also sent him links that I found online about other jeep owners complaining of their jeep going into neutral while driving. I have not heard back from the dealership yet. My guess, jeep is trying to hide this known issue. When the jeep goes into neutral the check engine light goes on and you cannot put car back in drive you have to coast to side of road. Try doing that on a 3 lane highway. Very very dangerous! Please look into this issue 🙏. I bought the car from carmax and carmax said I could have jeep look into issue. The jeep repair ce

"Check shifter" seems to come on almost everyday. From what I've gathered about it it could shift out of gear while driving. Could be a sensor or harness issue that I was told by a mechanic. No incident yet. This should be recalled as it seems to be a common issue with this Jeep.

I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the front seat headrest popped out while I was driving at 35 miles per hour. My daughter was sitting there, and fortunately, no injuries occurred. This happened on the passenger side, but six months ago, it happened on the driver’s side as well, which I replaced with a used part for $200. This is definitely a dangerous defect and needs to be added to the recall list.

The headrest deployed on passenger side while driving. Max Dye of Salem, Illinois checked headrest in March and said it was covered under extended warranty and they ordered replacement. Informed today Oct 1st that they have the headrest at factory but won’t ship because hazardous materials and tomorrow Oct 2nd the warranty will expire anyway. Very Crooked Wanted to know if I would pay for everything they would ship. Max Dye needs to be brought up on charges. Very Crooked!

Passenger headrest exploded suddenly while driving on highway at highway speeds. Loud bang which made me swerve. No accident or incident preceded, it just exploded. if someone like my wife with neck problems was in the seat she could have been injured. I was told that Jeep has extended the warranty on this item and it appears this happens often. Had this happened to the drivers one I may have had an accident. I suggest they replace drivers headrests to stop an accident in the future.

I have owned this vehicle for 9 years and the vehicle has had an issue with the electronic fuel pump since I bought it. I would take pictures of the warning showing the error message. I have had the vehicle in the shop more than 10 times for the same symptoms and begged them to replace what the computer is saying was the problem. I have spent over $9,000 on repairs and I continue to get the same message, The check engine light is on continuously and every time I bring it in they say it is not that it is something else and they replace something not related. Then the recall came out for the High Pressure Fuel Pump which was apparently the issue for the entire time like the on board computer had been stating was the issue. I have replaced the Thermostat when there was no over heating issue, the alternator when there was no electrical issue, the Particulate filter because they said that was what was causing it to go into crawl mode which it still does periodically when it rains out. The recall was issued on 6/9/2022 and it is still not repaired. There is no telling what other internal damage was done over the 9 years of not replacing what was the issue the entire time.

Safety- driver knocked unconscious likely from hitting head on steering wheel. If the vehicle did not collapse the way that it did, major injuries or death would have occurred with the airbags failing to deploy. Reproduced- unsure Vehicle was collect and assessed by the insurance company. There were no warning lights prior to the accident.

On Saturday, August 31, I was traveling approximately 50 on a freeway overpass, when my head was hit/jutted forward, causing an immediate migraine. This caused me to hit the brakes a bit and veer a little. Upon stopping and inspecting, the headrest had come apart. After googling, I see there had been a serious issue with the “Active Headrest Restraint” on select Chrysler models. This matches my incident.

I got into my car and headed home from work. All of a sudden, my headrest popped apart and smacked me in the back of the head. I was not involved in any sort of accident. I was just driving. I pulled over and looked around because I didn’t understand what smacked me in the back of the head. I got out of my vehicle and looked at my seat. My head wrist had popped completely apart, and the clips that held it together were broken, disabling me from putting it back together so that I could drive safely and comfortably.

My 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland EcoDiesel (VIN# [XXX] ) had a catastrophic engine failure at 96k miles (400 miles from home) on a family trip Friday [XXX] leaving us stranded far from home for the second time in the last year (first time was for a turbo coolant line that failed requiring me to leave my car in California for 3+ weeks while parts were on back order). I still have an active AEM Warranty from the emissions recalls a few years back that's good until 120k miles, however previous inquiries have stated that this warranty doesn't cover the engine failure and was given a repair estimate in excess of $30k+. Premature engine failures have been a very common problem of this series of vehicle, it was involved in the AEM class-action lawsuit, and had numerous recalls that are related to the engine and engine components. Myself and the Lithia Jeep Dealership staff in Grants Pass, OR were all shocked when the warranty claim was denied for this replacement given the number of EcoDiesel failures they had seen. With the systemic premature failures of these engines, the AEM class-action lawsuit updates, extent of recalls that are related to the engine and engine components, I have been disappointed in how Chrysler/Jeep have handled this situation, leaving the burden of their design flaws on their customers. Currently is being held at Roger Williams Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram- Weatherford TX. I just want to get my recalls done first to go from there and then will get my Jeep fixed if the recall does not fix the problem. I have had it there since June and they have the part in just are refusing to put it on.

The HPFP (high pressure fuel pump) on this vehicle fails causing a fuel lapse and loss of power. I have taken it to two different dealers and they say the HPFP is on recall but not available. The vehicle was available for inspection but neither dealer performed this. When the HPFP fails the engine light comes on and the electronic throttle control light comes on. This started in September of 2023 and has repeated several times. The recall for the HPFP has been announced for quite awhile but nothing has been done about it.

While driving on the freeway, I heard a quiet noise but saw no warning messages on the dash. I decided to pull over and found the vehicle had shifted into neutral and lost power steering. The vehicle was towed to a AAA service center. They discovered that the safety recall W79 / NHTSA 20V-699 Diesel ECR cooler had been replaced but failed again, requiring a complete engine replacement. The recall was repaired in May 2022, and the part failed in July 2024, two months outside the warranty. The dealer where we bought the vehicle and had the recall serviced won't return my calls.

I have an appointment Monday at 9am at Toliver in Mineola, TX to have it looked at.

Passenger seatbelt will no longer retract as the guide seems to be cracked and broken. Because of this the broken piece is pinching the seat belt down not allowing it to work properly. Seat belt can be guided back in manually but not on its own the way it’s supposed to. Please consider issuing a recall as this is a very dangerous issue in case the vehicle is involved in an accident. Shops are charging $3300 + to fix this issue that seems be very common for this year make and model

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
