Defect. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2026 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, and Tahoe, and GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles with four-wheel (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD), and certain 2015-2020 Suburban, Escalade, Escalade ESV, Yukon, Yukon XL, and Tahoe vehicles. A component missing from the drivetrain transfer case may cause the front and/or rear wheels to lock up without warning to the driver.

Risk. Front or rear wheel lockup increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the remedy is completed. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the transfer case assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 18, 2026. Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Yukon, and 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles equipped with a 5.3-liter engine, a 3.08-ratio rear axle and four-wheel drive. If a wheel-speed sensor fails, while the vehicle is traveling between 41 and 60 mph in four-wheel or automatic mode, the Electronic-Brake Control Module (EBCM) software may activate the driveline-protection system.

Risk. Unintended activation of the driveline-protection system will cause unintended braking on the wheel on the opposite side of the failed sensor, causing the vehicle to pull to one side unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.

Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Cadillac Escalade, 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, 2015-2018 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon vehicles. The amount of vacuum created by the vacuum pump may decrease over time.

Risk. As the vacuum level drops, the brake assist decreases, increasing braking effort, extending the distance required to stop the vehicle, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the Electronic Brake Control Module, free of charge. The recall began October 8, 2019. Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Sierra 1500 and Yukon, and Cadillac Escalade vehicles. Electric power steering (EPS) assist may be lost momentarily, followed by a sudden return of EPS assist.

Risk. If EPS assist is lost and then suddenly returns, the driver may have difficulty steering the vehicle, especially at low speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the EPS module software, free of charge. The recall began October 12, 2018. Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Buick Lacrosse and Chevrolet Spark EV, Caprice PPV and SS vehicles, 2014-2017 Buick Encore and Chevrolet Corvette, Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles, 2015-2016 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Tahoe, Trax, Suburban and Silverado 2500 and 3500 and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles, and 2015-2017 GMC Sierra HD 2500 and 3500 vehicles. While being previously remedied for recall 16V-651, the affected vehicles may not have received the complete software update necessary to remedy the recall condition. Without the update, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test. During this test, deployment of the frontal air bags and the seat belt pretensioners would not occur in the event of a crash.

Risk. A failure of the front air bags or seat belt pretensioners to deploy in the event of a crash necessitating deployment increases the risk of injury to the driver and front passenger.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will reflash the SDM software. Vehicles that have had a previous air bag deployment will have the SDM replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on August 4, 2017. Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks manufactured January 24, 2014, to February 26, 2014, 2015 Chevrolet Suburban vehicles manufactured February 12, 2014 and Chevrolet Tahoe vehicles manufactured February 6, 2014, to February 13, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the ignition lock actuator may bind, making turning the key difficult or causing the ignition to get stuck in the "Start" position.

Risk. If stuck in the "Start" position, the ignition may suddenly snap back into the "Accessory" position, causing a loss of engine, steering, and braking power, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. If the vehicle is in a crash, the air bags may not deploy, increasing the risk of occupant injury.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ignition lock housing, free of charge. The recall began on November 20, 2015. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 15573.

Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra, and Yukon XL vehicles, equipped with electric power steering (EPS). Due to a problem with the EPS module, the affected vehicles may experience a sudden loss of power steering assist during vehicle operation.

Risk. An unexpected loss of power steering increases the risk of a crash.

Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chevrolet Suburban, Suburban LTZ, Tahoe, Tahoe LTZ, GMC Yukon, and Yukon XL Denali vehicles manufactured on May 13, 2014. The affected vehicles were assembled with a roof rail air bags (RRAB) that were not reinforced at the points were the bags contact the hardware used to attach the roof carrier.

Risk. During deployment, the RRAB may be punctured or torn by the roof carrier hardware, reducing its performance and increasing the risk of occupant injury in the event of a crash.

Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra vehicles, and model year 2015 GMC Yukon and Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe vehicles. In the affected vehicles, an electrical signal short may cause the transfer case to shift to neutral without the driver's input.

Risk. If the transfer case switches to neutral while the vehicle is parked and the parking brake is not in use, the vehicle may roll away increasing the risk of injury to bystanders. If the transfer case switches to neutral while the vehicle is being driven, the vehicle would lose drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will re-program the software in the transfer case control module, free of charge. The recall began in early August 2014. Defect. General Motors LLC (GM ) is recalling certain model year 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Light Duty Regular Cab, Double Cab, and Crew Cab 1500 series and model year 2015 Suburban and Tahoe; GMC model year 2014 Sierra Regular Cab, Double Cab, and Crew Cab 1500 Series and model year 2015 Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles equipped with a 6-Speed Automatic Transmission (feature code MYC). The subject vehicles may have a transmission oil cooler line that is not securely seated in the fitting.

Risk. If the line is not securely seated and transmission oil leaks from the fitting, the oil could contact a hot surface and cause a vehicle fire.

This has almost caused us to get in an accident several times now. While driving and taking a curve or while gradually turning, the power steering failed. The steering wheel was extremely difficult to turn, and my wife could barely turn it. The message “Steering Assist Reduced – Drive with Care” was displayed. When we pulled over and turned off the engine, and then later re-started the Suburban, the power steering worked again. The dealer conducted a diagnostic on it and could not find the problem at first. They later said the Power Steering Gear needed to be replaced. This is a very dangerous problem.

I experienced a serious brake failure in my 2015 Chevrolet Suburban with 112,500 miles that nearly resulted in a collision. After approximately 90 minutes of driving, I pulled into a parking lot and attempted to stop. Without warning lights or prior symptoms, the brake pedal suddenly became extremely hard to press, and the vehicle nearly failed to stop. I had to stomp on the brake pedal to stop. The same dangerous condition occurred while reversing into a parking space. This created a serious risk of injury to myself and others. The problem appeared primarily at low speeds. After sitting for several hours, the brakes seemed normal again. This intermittent failure is especially dangerous because it occurs without warning. A GM dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed: "Vacuum pump has failed internally causing a stiff pedal at times when pumping brakes. Pump can't build vacuum fast enough to keep up with demand to fill brake booster." The failed component is available for inspection. I discovered GM Special Coverage N182202780 addresses this vacuum pump failure. However, GM refused assistance because my vehicle exceeded the 10-year coverage period, despite having only 112,500 miles. In approximately 2020, I had a GM braking safety recall performed. The dealership reprogrammed the vehicle and installed a thicker brake pedal pad rather than replacing the vacuum pump. 2024 Suburban bought brand new. Service Transmission Warning lights up. Been to the dealership shop about this 4 times now. They replaced the TCM with kit, seals, & tranmission fluid. Problem occurred again 200 miles later. Dealership just stringing us along without actually fixing it!

Door slam caused side impact airbags to deploy

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that while driving and taking a curve, the vehicle failed to turn as needed. The contact stated that the steering wheel was extremely difficult to turn. The contact stated that the message “Steering Assist Reduced – Drive with Care” was displayed. The dealer was contacted, and a diagnostic test was pending. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

When coming to a stop or backing from my inclined driveway the foot brake requires a hard push because it seems to lock up. I couldn't stop when braking. The problem is recurring. It has not been inspected for this recurring problem and no lights or warning signal appears on the dashboard.

Fuel line leak caused by design flaw in which line plastic fuel feed line (GM part #84200271) is installed too close to the undercarriage, causing it to rub against the frame due to vibration and wear a pinhole. This is known by gm in service bulletin Service Bulletin 17-NA-304. This is a fuel leak, that can causes significant fire danger to people, property, and nature. Eventually putting first responders at risk. Also the environmental risk of continuous leaking fuel. Luckily, I could smell it before anything bad happened. But if GM knows about this issue, it’s big enough they should do something about it and so should the NHTSA.

When our new mechanic was checking over the car, he and his other mechanic both noticed that there was an increased brake pedal effort even though the brakes were in ok condition. Every time I’ve had the car serviced I have them check the brakes because they feel off. The car stops and the brakes check out with previous mechanics but something doesn’t feel right. Our new mechanic then gave me a recall bulletin from GM N192268490 and said he thinks our car is experiencing this issue. The recall was attached to our VIN when the mechanic pulled it up but when we called the dealer and checked the NHTSA website, my VIN number was apparently not part of the recall. I am writing to state that I believe my car may be experiencing the issue stated in the recall bulletin as per my mechanic’s findings. Attached is a copy of the recall bulletin given to us by our mechanic. Please advise.

Pulling off from a stop sign on a hill, the car wouldn't accelerate and rolled back hitting a pedestrian and then jerked forward aggressively burning rubber on the tires. I smell the transmission burning. Luckily the lady didn't want to press charges.

While driving at highway speeds my vehicle lost steering the radio and the hvac turned off. I had abs and brake lights on the dash as well as a service stabilitrac message. The vehicle completely shutoff and I almost had an auto accident. I have not taken it anywhere as I’m to afraid to drive it for fear of having an accident.

When driving down the road, all gauges drop to 0, car continues to drive. When I pull over and try to turn the car off it turns everything off except the engine. I can’t put it into gear or restart the car. Battery has to be unplugged to get it to turn off. All lights will start flash across the dash. The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. No warning light was illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road and had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic, who determined that the transmission had overheated and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 167,000.

Replaced lifters 1,3,5,7 and added automatic fuel mgmt system bypass chip after the vehicle went into limp mode ON THE HIGHWAY. Ran for less than 2000 miles and those same lifters failed a second time and had to be replaced AGAIN. The last incident occurred after about 200 miles and had engine failure, limp mode with multiple sensor failures in the middle of the road in the dark. Limited ability to move it safely off the road.

On at or about November 1, 2025, I experienced a sudden loss of power steering. I was backing up in a parking and experienced a complete power steering failure. Since that date, it has failed multiple times. There was a recall on the EPS Module in 2015. I have contacted a dealer, they could not find a recall for any power steering issues, when there clearly has been. If there has been a recall for the steering of the same model and make and year, and is clearly a SAFETY ISSUE, this recall in 2015 should cover my vehicle also. I was under the assumption that my vehicle was low on power steering fluid. Proceed to look for power steering pump to check fluid level, no reservoir! Start to investigate, find out I have an Electric Power Assist Motor, and an electric module that can not be replaced when it fails, the entire assembly has to be replaced, no way to replace fluid! I’m in the process of getting an estimate of repair as of 11/25/ 2025. There was no indication of any kind, of possibly failure! There is no data stored in the computer indicating any failure, electrical or otherwise!

The braking system on my 2015 Chevy Suburban LTZ failed at slow speeds in a parking lot. I have replicated the issue in both forward and reverse. My family's safety was put at risk in that while backing up out of a parking spot the brakes failed completely and I had to push extremely hard on the brake to get the vehicle to stop. That same behavior occurred while pulling forward into a parking spot, almost hitting the car in front of me. I took the vehicle into a Chevrolet dealer today indicating the symptoms and they said there was no recall attached to my VIN. The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and hauling a boat, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted into second gear. The contact stated that the drive mode indicator light flashed red, and the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had occurred while driving downhill, and the contact pulled over to the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with transmission failure. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 116,816.

Transmission failed causing to replace do to the system on CHEVY motor changing from 8 cylinder to 4 cylinder and a thermostat on a transmission line.

The contact owns 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that while inspecting the vehicle, the contact saw rust on the frame and saw horizontal lines that became progressively worse over time. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that wax could be added to the rust spot and that the repair would be out-of-pocket because the failure was not under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: 19-NA-255 (Wax Coating on Frame Peeling, Metal Shows Corrosion/Rusting); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 114,481.

If I pull up to a parking spot and I’m slowly creeping into the spot, say at a popular supermarket, and slowing down the brake pedal stiffens up and it’s almost impossible to press. I feel like my truck may not stop. If I’m on a slight incline and in a line behind another vehicle, I’ve noticed the brake pedal stiffens up then as well. Awhile ago I thought there was a recall for this for my truck and it was something about the vacuum in the brake pedal. This is a super problem. I have five kids and we are on the road a lot. This has been happening a lot but most recently would be today.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that while attempting to have the vehicle inspected, it was discovered that the catalytic converter was missing, the wires were cut, and a pipe was inserted to muffle the noise. The contact was told that the check engine warning light was turned off and the carbon monoxide was not being cleaned, and that fumes were entering the cabin of the vehicle. The contact also discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy on the vehicle. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the mileage was 131,000 and at the time of the inspection, it was discovered that the mileage was approximately 231,000.

The transmission was acting weird and felt like it was revving up and down while going 20-30 mph. After turning into my neighborhood there was a loud clunck like some dropped off the truck and it completely fell out of gear and just rolled to a stop. Shifted it into park, turned the truck off and back on and put it back in drive it went into gear and allowed me to drive to my house but still acted like it was about to drop out of gear completely again. My neighbor has a 2015 Silverado and 2017 Tahoe and both transmissions did the same thing and had to be replaced, all between 100-125k miles. The contact stated that when the vehicle reached 55 MPH, the vehicle dead stopped, and she was thrust forward, and on the second occasion, she sustained a head injury from hitting her head on the steering wheel. Medical attention was not needed. Additionally, on the second occasion, the vehicle began overheating, and the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was codes P0700, P0741, and P0796 populated, and the TCM, torque converter clutch circuit, pressure control solenoid C, and transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel became stiff, and the vehicle lost automotive power. The check engine, seat belt, stabili-trak, and ABS warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was occasionally towed and taken to the same local dealer on several occasions, where it was diagnosed; however, the failure was not yet determined. The transmission, fuel pump, battery, alternator, and unknown wiring were replaced at the consumer's expense; however, the failure persisted. In addition, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V586000 (Steering); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 117,000.

Often the brake pedal becomes very hard to push and braking is extremely hindered. There is a recall for this issue that has been done but the vehicle is experiencing the exact same problem again. Dealership says that the vehicle time has expired for anything to be done again. Recall was performed only 5 years ago.

I have a 2015 Chevy Suburban with a 5.3L v8 motor. At 123,067 miles I lost the lifters in the number 7 cylinder due to the Active Fuel Management (AFM) system. This is an ongoing issue with Chevy motors from2014 to 2021. There is currently a Class Action Law Suite. I am hoping the NHTSA will issue a recall. This repaid cost me $4,000.00 to repair.

First, Side Detection System warning light would come on, then all dashboard gauges would fail and go to position as if the car war turned off, doors and windows would not unlock or open, series of warning messages would pop up as if all systems were malfunctioning. Car would still drive but if you turn the engine off all electrical systems would stay on for a extended period of time. Vehicle would not start, even with a jump start. After sitting for 12 hours, would start again and repeat shutdown after running for about 3-5 minutes.

When the air temperature is in the single digits the seat belt buckles do not latch or unlatch when pulled on. I thought my seat belt was latch no warning sounds indicating that it was not latch, but when i went to reach for something on my dash it unbuckled. When temperature is above 9F degrees buckles work fine. Both driver and passager side seat belt buckles do not work properly when it is cold out. Just wondering if others have brought this up.

Driving down the interstate and the vehicles transmission just stopped working. The D on the dashboard started blinking and would not keep moving. When attempting to accelerate the vehicle’s engine just revved would not move. It was dangerous and no warning prior to this issue.

Vehicle was slipping and losing power. Vehicle was loosing power every time I slowed down on a traffic light and/or stop signs. Vehicle was taken to a local shop and it was determined that vehicle had serious transmission issues. Vehicle was then taken to Richard K Chevrolet. Their report (attached here) states “Found code for pressure control solenoid stuck on. Found large metal debris in fluid. Found transmission suffered mass internal failure. Recommend replacement”. Chevrolet will not take any responsibility for this massive failure and I ended up having to pay $5,500 to fix the issue (documents attached). I’m looking for Chevrolet to reimburse my expenses given that a vehicle just a bit over 100,000 miles underwent such a massive failure. My number is [XXX] . The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated while driving at 10 MPH and making a right turn to enter a parking lot, the vehicle behind failed to see the contact's turning signal and brake lights therefore did not slow down resulting in the contact being rear-ended. As a result, the vehicle was pushed by the impact of the rear end and crashed into a utility pole where it came to a stop. A police report was filed. There was no medical attention required. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot where it was pending another tow to a collision center. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 114,000.

While driving approximately 70 miles an hour and trying to switch lanes, we got a stabilitrack warning and the car shut off for a second and then came back on. the weather was nice and there was no snow or any other adverse conditions. This happened a couple more times on the ride and then when we tried to turn into a parking spot it shut off completely and we had to restart it. We turned stabilitrack off and the car was ok for a couple of short drives. Then driving late at late and we passed another car the same thing happened. Then when we tried to turn our brights on we got the same message. Then we got a brake assist message and then we got a collision alert. The headlights were flickering the rest of the drive and we couldnt use our brights. We had our 4 children in the car and it was shutting down at high speeds and very scary. I looked up our vin and it said that the recalls had been worked on but I dont remember this being done. This has never happended before this. our car would be available for inspection if needed.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power, with an abnormal clicking sound coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the hydraulic lifters needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then towed to the residence. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the hydraulic lifters needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 91,800.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that upon coming to a complete stop, he observed that the brake pedal briefly depressed all the way to the floorboard. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The contact stated that the failure only occurred upon coming to a complete stop. The power assist brake warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V645000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 126,000.

When driving through city traffic basically stop and go the brake pedal gets very hard and the car does not stop as smooth or almost not at all. It gets very dangerous.

Continuous "Trailer Brake System" alarm makes the vehicle undrivable due to to distraction

Clanking, stalling , wouldn’t go into gear. Had to have the truck flatbed to AAMCO. Was told transmission. Call Chevy during issue’s and told vehicle was not part of recall. Transmission had to be replaced.

TRANSMISSION GAVE OUT WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY YES NO LIGHTS TILL IT JUST STOPPED IN HIGHWAY

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and turned off without the key in the ignition, her daughter bumped into the gear shift selector and inadvertently shifted the vehicle into reverse. As a result, the vehicle began to roll, coming to a complete stop after colliding with another parked vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. A police report was not filed, and injuries were reported. The contact reported bruising sustained while attempting to stop the vehicle but had not sought medical treatment. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH and attempting to make a left or right turn, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent but has been recurred more frequently at slow speeds. The vehicle was not able to be restarted. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer however, no failure was found. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred, and the local dealer was not able to duplicate the failure. The local dealer suggested that the battery needed to be replaced. The battery was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and remained with the independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure with the NHTSA Manufacturer Communication Number: N212333901 (Loss of Power Steering Assist). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

Vehicle lost power steering turning a tight left into a parking space at a low speed on 5/18/2024. A second later, the engine and all electrical in the vehicle went dead. The steering locked and nothing electrical in the vehicle was functional. Based on the online information and comments found, this is a significant problem with the 2015 Suburban. The GMC recall number is 14743. The recall was for replacement of the power steering assist motor kit. When I look up my vehicle on the recall listing there are no recalls for my vehicle. There is an obvious problem which is effecting these vehicles and dealers shouldn't question the safety implications of steering and engine failure while the vehicle is moving.

The # 7 cylinder valve lifter in the 2015 Suburban engine fails when accelerating in certain situations. This has happened to this vehicle twice at and expense of rebuilding the engine. The in both cases the vehicle was accelerating into fast moving traffic. When the lifter fails the engine loses power and no longer accelerates which requires swerving out of traffic, back to the shoulder to not get rear-ended by on-coming traffic. The problem was confirmed and the service provided indicated that this was a significant issue with this particular engine. Basically, it happens to many of these vehicles. The engine has been rebuilt twice while I have owned it. When the lifter fails the check engine light comes on. These failures occurred on September 24, 2021 and again on September 9, 2023.

In 2022, the transmission experienced a complete failure and required replacement. Unfortunately, the vehicle is now encountering the same issues once more. From various forums, it appears that these issues are prevalent with the 2015 Suburban, including the need for AC condenser replacements. Having had to address both problems, it's clear these repairs are quite expensive for a family vehicle, especially considering regular maintenance.

The transmission has failed several times during driving with no check engine light or maintenance required light appearing. I get monthly reports saying that the engine does not have any problems. My safety and others safety were put at risk because any time during driving the engine can lose power and you will no longer be able to accelerate. This could be dangerous on roads and especially highways if you are traveling at fast speeds and cannot get out the way of others possibly causing an accident. I have recently taken my vehicle to a car mechanic shop and they say this is a common issue in the transmission of similar makes and models around this year. There were no previous warning lamps or messages from the vehicle or the monthly diagnostic reports I receive monthly. The problem started occurring before 150,000 miles.

It started with a glitch with the radio/navigation system flashing back and forth and not working. The cooling fan on the vehicle would run for about 10 minutes. The blind spot warning would blink on and off and there was no one else on the road. Then two days later the check engine light came on for about 5 days. Then three days later there was a loss of battery power and the indication light came on stating the car was in battery save mode. Then two days later the power steering system was lost on the highway and all the warning lights on the dash were flashing. The car stalled and refused to start. The tow truck driver tried to jump the vehicle with a battery pack that would jump a diesel and he only got enough power to put the car in neutral.

Chevy transmissions for the following years of 2015-2019 have has extensive problems. They include hard shifting, break down, and full blown blowing up on consumers. This has cause consumers to fork out on average $6000 to have a transmission replacement. The transmission started shifting hard in second gear and also whines at higher RPMs. The code it’s throwing is a Torque Converter Clutch issue. We were put in danger because it almost stalled on the highway. It has been inspected by a mechanic. There were no warnings prior to the failure.
