Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling various Dodge, Chrysler, and RAM vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V824-0103.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Risk. If the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury in the event of a fire.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began February 14, 2018. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles manufactured July 31, 2015, to April 18, 2016, 2016 Dodge Journey vehicles manufactured August 17, 2015, to January 29, 2016, and 2016 RAM ProMaster vehicles manufactured August 15, 2016, to April 15, 2016. The transmission pump may seize causing a loss of hydraulic pressure.

Risk. If the transmission loses hydraulic pressure, the vehicle may lose motive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the transmission pump, free of charge. The recall began on August 18, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S44.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country vehicles manufactured March 16, 2016, to March 17, 2016. The nuts on the third row seatbacks were incorrectly torqued and may become loose.

Risk. If the third row seatback becomes loose, it may separate from the seat frame, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will re-torque the third row seatback nuts, free of charge. The recall began on July 1, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S37.

Defect. FCA US LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Chrysler Town and Country, and 2014-2015 Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles manufactured August 16, 2014, to December 5, 2015. The windshield on the affected vehicles may have been installed using expired urethane primer, allowing the windshield to become displaced in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 212, "Windshield Mounting."

Risk. If the windshield dislodges during a crash, there is an increased risk of occupant injury.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the windshield, free of charge. The recall began March 4, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S02.

Defect. Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2016 Chrysler Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles manufactured August 19, 2015 to August 27, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the bolts that attach the hood striker may loosen and, as a result, the hood may open unexpectedly while driving.

Risk. If the hood opens while driving, the driver's vision may be obstructed, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will install new hood striker bolts with the proper torque, free of charge. The recall began on October 22, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler's customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's recall number is R53.

While driving my 2016 Chrysler Town & Country around 45mph in active traffic, the vehicle suffered a sudden, catastrophic, and complete loss of motor power. The engine remained running, but the transmission completely lost all hydraulic pressure, leaving me unable to accelerate and leaving me completely stranded in a highly dangerous situation. I am a mother of four children who were inside the vehicle, and this sudden stalling created an imminent crash hazard and an extreme risk to my family's safety.The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealership, Lithia Chrysler in [XXX], for a formal diagnostic check under Chrysler Corporate Case #XXX. The dealership's certified master technician pulled an electronic computer scan and confirmed an active P08 fluid pressure fault code. The dealer physically verified that the primary transaxle oil pump failed, which caused extensive consequential damage, filling the transmission fluid with heavy metal shrapnel and a burnt smell. The dealer explicitly documented that the entire transmission assembly requires a complete replacement due to this internal destruction.This mechanical failure sequence, the component involved, and the life-threatening safety symptoms perfectly mirror NHTSA Campaign 16V-461 (Manufacturer Safety Recall S44) for the transaxle oil pump. Was just informed my transmission pump needs to be replaced after hearing an odd humming noise when acceleration occurred. I looked online and saw this was a recall for similar vehicles. Mine did not come up, but it mirrors the same issues that were part of the recall.

I have this vehicle and the drivers side sliding door has locked up completely. I will not unlock or open manually or electrically. I had it in for a diagnostic at a certified body shop in Devils Lake, ND 58301. They say it is the locking mechanism or actuator. I have recently been informed that Chrysler has extended the warranty for thi part to 15 years or 150K. But my vehicle does not show up as having a recall for this. Gear skipping, engine loosing power

While driving down the road, 30mph, driver side head rest deployed, hitting me in the back of the head.

Inadvertent passenger side head rest deployment while driving with no collisions.

The transmission vehicle just stopped in the road. Causing road blockage and stranded passengers in the with out cell service. Vehicle has been looked at and this same problem that is listed for the recall but this vin isn't listed in the recall.

I am submitting this letter to formally express my serious concern and dissatisfaction regarding a safety issue that occurred and that, under only slightly different circumstances, could have resulted in a far more dangerous outcome. The situation I experienced was not only unacceptable but indicative of a potential systemic failure that warrants immediate investigation. The incident posed a clear risk to my safety and the safety of others. It is deeply troubling that such a failure was able to occur at all, and even more troubling that—had the conditions been marginally different—it could have led to severe injury or worse. This is precisely the type of preventable hazard that NHTSA exists to identify and address before it results in tragedy. I am requesting that NHTSA review this matter thoroughly, determine whether similar incidents have been reported, and take appropriate action to ensure that this issue is corrected. Consumers should not be placed in harm’s way due to defects or oversights that compromise the safe operation of a vehicle or its components. This experience has left me with significant concerns about the reliability and safety of the system involved. I urge NHTSA to treat this as a serious complaint and to investigate promptly so that no one else is put at risk.

Transmission pump failure leading to sudden power loss. This is a known problem with 2015-16 Chrysler Town & Country's and there is a recall out for it (Chrysler:S44, NHTSA: 16V461000). However my VIN does not appear in the recall registry, despite being manufactured right in the middle of the specified manufacturing time span for the defect. Because of this I was never sent any information on the recall as the company doesn't think my vehicle was affected. I disagree and think their database is incorrect. My vehicle manufacture date is Nov 15, and the recall span for my model of vehicle is Jul 15-Apr 16. I would like someone to verify and explain to me why my vehicle, which has this problem, isn't included in the recall.

The contact had to manually slam the rear sliding doors for the doors to latch securely. After the Chrysler dealer in Glendale CA completed Recall S44 – Transmission Oil Pump on my 2016 Chrysler Town & Country in October 3 2025, the transmission began to malfunction and eventually stopped shifting completely. The dealer drained the transmission fluid, removed both front axles, removed all transmission components, and replaced the transmission oil pump, seals, bolts, and torque converter as required by the recall. The transmission is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: The vehicle became unsafe to drive when the transmission began shifting erratically and then failed to shift at all, causing sudden loss of acceleration in traffic and posing a risk to myself and others. Diagnostic Codes: Before the recall, the vehicle had code P06DE (Engine Oil Pressure Control). Chrysler has a documented TSB for P06DE requiring a PCM software update, but the dealer did not perform this update during the recall. After the recall, the vehicle developed new code P0760 (Shift Solenoid C Malfunction), which was not present prior to the recall and appeared only after the transmission was reassembled. Inspection and Confirmation: The dealer confirmed P0760 but refused further inspection or repair, stating it was “not related,” despite the failure occurring immediately after major recall-related transmission work. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer. The failure is reproducible: the transmission will not shift. Reason for Complaint: This failure happened

I have had two 2016 Town & Country’s both of which have the same issue of the automatic high beam occasionally not turning off for oncoming vehicles. I have in fact been pulled over because they failed to turn off for a Michigan state police officer. The problem occurs most when on a large divided highway such as an interstate or in curves. This has been an issue ongoing with both of them and the sensor has been since discontinued by Chrysler so I can’t try replacing it anymore however the fact that both of mine have done this indicates to me that this is a larger problem.

The contact was provided DTC: P0128 with DTC Severity of 2 of 3. The contact was informed that the thermostat and transmission needed to be replaced. The contact stated that only the thermostat was being replaced. The dealer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not associated with any recall. The contact referenced an unknown recall with a similar failure description, but the VIN was not associated with the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 133,000.

My 2016 T & C was parked on an incline when about 5 minutes after I exited the vehicle, it began to roll backwards. Van was in park and off. It rolled back and hit a church sign which stopped it from going over a steep bank and into traffic on Route 29 near Gretna, Va. Extensive damage to sign as well as probably total loss of my van. This happened on 10/2/2025 at 11:00 AM

Issue 1) Side slide door on driver side won't open. I could not get my child out and had to crawl across. Won't unlock, won't open manually, won't open electronically, won't unlock with fab. Issue 2) driver window has failed 3 times now. Like clock work every 2 and a half to 3 years it goes out.

I have owned 2 chrysler town and countrys over the past 9 years, a 2010 and a 2016. The rear sliding door has locked up and doesn't allow the door to open. It happened to the 2010 so I decided to get a newer one and now the same thing has happened to the 2016. The 2016 also has a driver window problem where the regularactor breaks and has to be replaced. I have replaced it 4 times in the past year. My son is a mechanic and has urged me not to buy chrysler, but I was loyal so I still have it. I am seriously considering a brand change now due to the annoyance and the safety aspect. I transport my family alot and this problem is putting a big damper on things. I have also researched this on the internet and it seems to be a common problem. Can I ask why there isn't a recall on these issues? Thanks you for your time.
