2023 Honda Accord

Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023 Honda Accord, Accord Hybrid, and 2024 HR-V, Pilot, and Acura Integra vehicles. The driver's seat cushion frame may not have been tightened properly, which can result in a loose seat. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 207, "Seating Systems."

Risk. A loose driver's seat may not adequately restrain the driver during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the driver's seat cushion frame, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 10, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are ONC, KND, BNE and ZNF. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning February 5, 2026. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 24V859.

Risk. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and replace the high-pressure fuel pump as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed February 20, 2025. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is PJW.

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2013-2023 Honda Accord, Civic Coupe, Civic Sedan, Civic Hatchback, Civic Type R, CR-V, HR-V, Ridgeline, Odyssey, Acura ILX, MDX, MDX Hybrid, RDX, RLX, TLX, 2019-2022 Honda Insight, Passport, 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid, 2018-2019 Honda Clarity PHEV, Fit, and 2015-2020 Honda Accord Hybrid, Pilot, Acura NSX vehicles. The fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.

Risk. Fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the fuel pump module, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 6, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are KGC and KGD. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall numbers 21V-215 and 20V-314.

Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Accord and HR-V vehicles. The front seat belt pretensioners may be missing the rivet that secures the quick connector and wire plate. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection," 209, "Seat Belt Assembles," and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

Risk. A seat belt pretensioner missing a rivet will not properly restrain the occupant, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and replace the seat belt pretensioner assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 8, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are MG7 and NG5.

Sticky and unresponsive steering accompanied by loud clicking in the steering rack and gear box.

The contact owns a 2023 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, smoke started coming from underneath the front driver’s side seat. The contact looked down and became aware that the front driver’s side seat belt anchor had caught fire. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle had been involved in a crash prior to the fire, and the front passenger’s side of the vehicle had crashed into rear left door of another vehicle. No injuries were sustained, and no medical attention was needed. The contact exited the vehicle and contacted the local Fire Department. The Fire Department arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

The contact's fiancée owns a 2023 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the rear tires showed severe inner wear and damage due to a misalignment, requiring three sets of rear tires to be replaced within a year. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who notified the manufacturer of the failure; however, the technical engineer denied assistance. The dealer informed the contact that the lower control arms needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the tire repair kit bottle cap detached while inflating a tire. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V366000 (Tires); which was associated with the tire repair kit failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.

I own a 2023 Honda Accord Touring Hybrid. At approximately 42,000 miles, all of the warning lights illuminated while driving. The warnings included Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Parking Collision Warning, and multiple other system alerts. At the same time, I experienced a loss of electric power steering assist, increased steering resistance, and clicking/popping noises coming from the steering rack. The Honda dealer diagnosed the vehicle with a failed Electric Power Steering (EPS) steering rack and quoted nearly $5,000 for the repair. A critical steering component should not fail at such low mileage. This is a serious safety concern because the failure affects the driver's ability to safely control the vehicle. Similar steering components have been recalled on other Honda models, but the 2023 Honda Accord has not been included. I believe this defect should be investigated before it results in crashes or injuries.

While driving my 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid, the vehicle suddenly displayed multiple warning messages, including a Check Engine Light, and immediately entered limp mode. Engine power was significantly reduced, making it difficult to accelerate and safely keep up with surrounding traffic. This unexpected loss of power created a potential safety hazard because the vehicle could not respond normally to throttle input. The vehicle was diagnosed by an authorized Honda dealership. The dealer confirmed Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P2101 and determined that the throttle body assembly had failed. The throttle body assembly and gasket were replaced, and a software update was also performed before the vehicle could be safely driven again. I paid approximately $670.34 for the repair at the Honda dealership. After researching this issue, I found reports from other owners of recent Honda Accord Hybrid vehicles experiencing similar P2101 throttle body failures resulting in limp mode. I am submitting this complaint because an unexpected throttle body failure that causes a vehicle to enter limp mode while driving may present a safety risk, especially if it occurs in traffic or during highway driving. I believe this issue should be reviewed to determine whether it affects additional vehicles.

The car has continually asked to to be updated through the driver control center screen. IT states that this is a dealer update and must be brought in to have this done. Until this update is completed the above systems will not work. I have brought the car in for the lat 25k miles 4 oil changes and have been told each time that it has been fixed. It still has not been fixed, and the dealer is telling me there is nothing they can do. This is definitely a safety issue as these important systems are not working.

Before the collision, while turning left from a complete stop, the steering wheel suddenly became extremely stiff and would not turn normally. There were no dashboard warning lights (no EPS, brake, or hybrid warnings). The steering problem occurred before impact and contributed to the head-on collision.

Component/System: Integrated Control Module (ICM) CPU — software defect identified under NHTSA Recall 25V-785 (Honda Recall TN2). The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: While driving on a California highway, I attempted to accelerate to pass another vehicle and the car failed to accelerate normally — it did not respond with expected drive power. This is consistent with the recall defect, which states the ICM CPU can reset while the vehicle is in operation, causing the vehicle to lose drive power and increasing the risk of a crash. This occurred at highway speed with other vehicles present, creating an immediate danger. Dealer Confirmation: I have visited an authorized Honda dealership twice regarding this recall — once upon receiving the recall notification in November 2025, and again in January 2026 during a scheduled oil change. On both occasions, the dealer confirmed the recall was on file for my vehicle but stated they did not have the software or equipment available to perform the remedy. The repair has not been completed as of the date of this complaint, June 26, 2026 — more than seven months after the recall was issued. Inspections by Other Parties: The vehicle has not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or other outside parties in connection with this issue. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the failure. My family was out of town, when the fire occurred. However, the neighbors were home and their home also sustained some damage. My home was a total loss. On June 16, 2026 I received a call while out of town that my home was on fire and it was a total loss. Statements from the neighbors and fire marshal were that the garage was on fire and then spread to the rest of the home. The only thing in the garage that could have started the fire was my Hybrid vehicle.

System Update Error TT04

Driver seat began to rock. Observing underneath, bolt with a t40 wide flat head fell out of the bracket that attaches the seat cushion frame to the seat frame.

The rearview mirror fell off while driving

My car started blinking the Check engine light when I am going 40-50 mph. Got the vehicle scanned and the code showed “misfire cylinder 4” so i replaced the spark plugs and the coil on cylinder 4. Vehicle ran fine for about 3 weeks. Same issue happened again. I did research and found that alot of honda vehicles with the 1.5 turbo has had head gasket issues. I took it to a mechanic and got it diagnosed. There was no coolant when they checked as well as put the camera down cylinder 4 and seen fluids in the cylinder

I have had my vehicle in the dealer on 4 or 5 occasions, where the issue persisted, where the steering wheel made a clicking noise. I was able to duplicate the issue for the dealer a few times, and they were unable to fix it. The dealer replaced the master cylinder, the steering rack was adjusted, and still the issue persists. After many trips to the dealer, I got sick and tired and got into an argument with the dealer, and the dealer refused to work on my car any longer. I am stuck now with a steering issue that appears to be affecting a lot of other and they refuse to help me get it fixed.

My 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid with only 16,000 miles on it has been having an intermittent steering problem for approx 2 months. I have seen this same issue reported by other 2023 Accord owners. When making a sharp turn, parking, etc. I hear a sort of clicking/tapping sound that seems to be coming from the front/steering rack of the car. Almost sounds like a gear needs lubricating. I reported this to my service technician today when my car was in for normal maintenance and they could not reproduce the issue. Based on other complaints, this is a manufacturer defect and needs to be recalled for my car. Thank you for your review of this.

EPS Steering rack assembly and gear box is making noises. Car was inspected by a licensed Honda repair center on 4/23/26 and was told that that this assembly will need to be replaced at a $4,900.00 estimate. This could put our family at risk if the steering or gear box fails during use. Vehicle has just over 50k miles. According to Honda's own "Tech Line Summary Article", dated 3/20/26, this is a known problem and effecting thousands of vehicles with no permanent solution.

I took my car in because the electric parking brake warning appeared while driving. I also looked it up and saw many others were having this issue. So basically Honda charged me for something that’s an ongoing Honda issue and passed it off as a glitch and cleared the codes. Clearly Honda needs to recall the 2023 accord because this isn’t safe and clearing the code isn’t taking care of the problem. Furthermore charging me for diagnosing this is completely wrong knowing this is not a problem only I am having. Honda needs a recall before there are serious accidents.

The contact stated that after the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V785000 (Electrical System), the message "Updates Unavailable - TCN2 - Have Checked by Dealer" remained displayed. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who was unable to repair the vehicle and informed the contact that the manufacturer was aware of the failure and was currently seeking a fix to correct the failure. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 12,000.

OTA system keeps failing and needed to go to dealer every other week. The radio freezes and glitches. Yes I’ve been to dealer 3 times in the last 6 months about this issues.
