2025 Honda Accord

I was driving steadily on the freeway in slow moving traffic at 20-30 miles and had a lot of distance between me and the car in front. There was a sudden jolt and it appeared the vehicle was attempting to brake unexpectedly. If my foot had not been on the accelerator, I believe the vehicle could have come to a sudden, complete stop, potentially causing the vehicle behind me to rear end my car. Several months, before this incident, the Collision Mitigation Braking System and Lane Assist warning alerts would sound while I was driving on the freeway. This happened at two separate times. The sudden alarms are startling, and I cannot safely read the dashboard messages while driving. I am forced to slow down or pull over to check what is wrong, creating additional safety risks. I have a scheduled appointment with the Dealer this weekend due to the sudden braking however, I've brought this issue up with the service department in the past with the warning lights and they don't seem to have a definitive answer as to what is causing it. I have less than 20,000 miles on this vehicle.

I am reporting multiple recurring safety concerns involving my 2025 Honda Accord, including apparent electronic parking brake malfunctions, Auto Brake Hold failures, electrical system warnings, violent engine restarts, and a possible battery or charging-system defect. While stopped in traffic, particularly when the Auto Idle Stop system shuts off and restarts the engine, my vehicle sometimes experiences an unusually violent shaking or jerking motion. In XXX, the driver assistance and safety systems on my 2025 Honda Accord SE began failing repeatedly. While driving, warning messages would appear for the collision mitigation braking system, lane keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams, and these systems would become unavailable. This happened multiple times over XXX and XXX . I took the vehicle to Hugh White Honda in [XXX], four to five times for this problem. The dealer replaced the forward-facing camera twice under warranty, but the warnings and system failures continued after each repair. The dealer was never able to identify or fix the underlying cause. I filed a complaint with American Honda on XXX (case XXX). Because the safety systems on a nearly new vehicle could not be repaired, I traded the vehicle in on XXX, with approximately 17,000 miles. No crash or injuries occurred, but the vehicle repeatedly lost the use of its collision avoidance and lane keeping safety systems in normal driving, and the manufacturer could not repair the defect. When driving at any speed, the steering will feel like it sticks or jerk when making small adjustments.

While vehicle was parked and turned off, the wiring underneath the passenger seat caught fire. The fire damaged the seat, wiring, flooring, and mats.

I contacted Bay Ridge Honda in [XXX], on XXX, to request a recall repair appointment. I was told the necessary parts were unavailable. I contacted the dealership again on XXX, and received the same response. As of XXX, 62 days have passed since my first request, and the recall remains incomplete. I was at a stoplight waiting to turn left. I got the green arrow light so I proceeded to follow the vehicle in front of me who also turned left, I was not following close to the vehicle and the vehicle in front of me did not brake. Then my cars automatic emergency brake engaged in the middle of the intersection while tuening left and casued the cars behind to crash and my back to be injured. I am very upset as this has happened on 2 other occasions where I did not track the mileage or insections. I called the dealer where I purchased the vehicle, Mungenast Honda in St Louis MO. They have yet to schedule me a service appointment, but I did ask for one.

My steering gearbox is making a clicking and popping noise...when I turn the wheel to the left or right I hear the clicking noise...when I drive slowly and turn my wheel the clicking noise continues

On August 29, 2026, I took my 2025 Honda Accord to Norris Honda for a persistent rotten-egg/sulfur-type odor. I paid $407.67 for a filter replacement and odor treatment, but the odor persisted. I returned the vehicle on September 9, 2026, at 5,640 miles. The odor was particularly noticeable while driving with the air conditioning operating. My adult daughter independently noticed the odor. There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages. On September 15, a Norris Honda technician reported detecting a different “moldy odor” when opening the vehicle before it was started. Norris Honda subsequently reported that the right sunroof drain was clogged and had overflowed, allowing water into the passenger compartment. This incidence occurred twice, one year apart, under the same driving and weather conditions and on exactly the same route. On XXX, after departing [XXX], we were driving north on [XXX] near [XXX], with the adaptive cruise control set to 70 mph. Suddenly the dashboard displayed the warning, “Some driver assist systems cannot operate: Clear area shown,” and the Honda emblem indicator illuminated. Following the vehicle’s instructions, we stopped and cleaned the Honda emblem by wiping and rinsing it, but the warning remained. After we continued driving north on [XXX] for approximately three to four hours, the warning cleared without further action. The weather was clear and sunny. An identical incident occurred one year earlier, on XXX, along the same section of northbound [XXX] and under the same driving and weather conditions. Accord was also set to 70 mph with adaptive cruise control engaged. That warning again cleared on its own after a few hours. In addition, while driving in the left lane on XXX with adaptive cruise control engaged, Accord braked aggressively while passing semi-trucks traveling in the right lane, even though there were no vehicles ahead. The contact's son owns a 2025 Honda Accord. The owner stated that while coming to a stop, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to stop. No warning light was illuminated. The owner fully lifted the foot from the brake pedal and forcefully depressed the brake pedal while attempting to stop the vehicle. The contact's son also stated that the air bags did not deploy during the crash. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer informed the contact that the failure could be duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by telephone, and the contact was corresponding with a case manager via email. A case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000.

Recurring steering/front-end clicking/tapping noise occurs when turning the steering wheel left or right, including while the vehicle is stationary and at low speed. I first noticed the steering clicking noise at approximately 1,500 miles but initially overlooked it. The issue was previously confirmed by an authorized Honda dealer. In September 2025, the technician documented that the noise was easily duplicated while driving or stationary, used diagnostic equipment to locate it, identified the clicking/tapping as coming from the EPS steering rack assembly, and replaced the EPS rack under warranty. The panel computer says "the system updates failed, please see dealer", however the dealership has assisted with the panel and advise the problem needs to remedied by Honda directly. Having the issue presnt can infer with the function and safety of the vehicle's computing system

The vehicle was being driven in the rain on August 27, 2026, at approximately 8:30pm, when the power steering, power breaking, and all other electronic modules needed to safely operate the vehicle were loss. NHTSA Recall 24V-744 currently covers 2023-2025 Civics and CV-Rs but not Accords.

- The steering system appears to be malfunctioning. The steering wheel becomes sticky or feels like it catches while turning, and there is a clunking and grinding noise when the steering wheel is turned. The problem has been experienced while operating the vehicle and needs to be inspected and diagnosed by a qualified service center. -Not yet.The vehicle has not yet been inspected regarding this specific issue. -There were no warning lamps or messages displayed, if applicable. The symptoms include sticky or catching steering, along with clunking and grinding noises when turning. The symptoms first appeared recently and occur while turning the steering wheel.

The contact owns a 2025 Honda Accord. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V366000 (Tires); however, the part to complete the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Automatic braking has engaged at least 3 times in the last year when there was no car nearby or obstacle in the road. This has happened on city streets at speeds of approx 30-45mph. If this sudden braking happened at freeway speeds it's highly likely I would be rear ended. I have not taken it to dealer as I expect that they will say what they typically do ...nothing is wrong. Granted it is difficult to reproduce the phantom braking for them to observe the issue. The alarm sounded and the large red "Brake" light came on on the dash. 8.12.26 incident was in a lane adjacent to traffic cones but I was nowhere near hitting them.

The vehicle's infotainment system displays an OTA software update error message on every startup. Honda dealerships are unable to address this issue without further intervention and software updates from Honda corporate. Dealer has stated that this issue may interfere with reliable over-the-air software updates, including any potential safety-related updates delivered through this OTA system.

When turning the steering wheel at low speeds or when not moving, creaking and popping noise can be heard coming from the lower front end of the vehicle. I was told by Honda service that there is a known issue and that Honda was working on a remedy for the problem.

Have received notification many months ago that my car has a recall on the tire repair kit. Have been told it’s been back ordered for months. Have called multiple dealerships and being told the same thing. This is a safety issue and unacceptable at this point.

In May 2025, I received an error message upon vehicle start up which states “Software update is not available. Please see your dealer.” This error has continued to appear each time the vehicle is started. When I took it to my dealer in May 2025, they told me that there was nothing they could do and that Honda had to put out an over the air software update to fix the issue. I have asked about this during subsequent dealer visits and each time they say the same thing. The issue has not been fixed nearly 14 months now.

I was driving an interstate freeway with my cruise on set to 75mph while passing a truck, both the truck and I were in are respective lanes and neither of us was straddling the lane divider. Suddenly the orange brake light came on the dash and the car braked hard without any input from me. The braking was so hard it pushed me forward twice and caused my seat belt to lockup.

This nearly caused myself to get into a severe rear-end collision. [In-person Service Visit #1 -XXX– Paramus, NJ]: On this date, I brought the car to Paramus Honda, and was advised that their service department “has never heard of any vehicle made by Honda, phantom breaking”. Upon my insistence that this happened and that experiencing such made me feel unsafe and nervous to drive the vehicle. The service department advised me to ensure that both the rear and front sensors on the vehicle were free and clear of any type of debris. I did so and have ensured to always be of the sensors moving forward. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle unintendedly pulled towards the right or the left, depending on the last direction the steering wheel was turned. No warning light was illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that while driving in rainy weather, the vehicle hydroplaned. The vehicle was taken to the same local dealer on several occasions, where an alignment was performed and the steering rack was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.

Dashboard shows that there is a problem with the adaptive cruise control system, lane keeping assist system, road departure mitigation system, and automatic high beams. Message occurs intermittently, usually lasting a few seconds, and goes away. Can happen while driving or while parked. Usually occurs a handful or times per day. Seems to happen more frequently when engine bay is warmed up. This is a safety issue because it suddenly and unexpectedly disables the advanced driver assistance systems. For example, while driving on the highway, cruise control and lane keeping assistance will turn off suddenly, forcing the driver to intervene with all of these systems at once. This also has other implications, like automatic emergency braking not functioning correctly to help prevent an accident. Vehicle has been brought to various Honda dealers a total of three times. A case has been opened with American Honda Motor Co, but no solution to the problem has been found.

I purchased this vehicle at 0 miles in July 2025 from Honda Accord in Pensacola Florida. I reported in July 2025 that there was a noise and I was unhappy with the vehicle and would like to exchange the vehicle within the 30 days months later, the noise got louder, and I took it in to see what the problem was I was told there was no issue that this is the loud start noise when you first crank the car up I then proceed to advise them that there’s clicking under my steering wheel. I brought the vehicle back in to Honda of Pensacola they checked it and said that this was a steering box issue that had been a recall on most of the Honda Civic. I brought it back in and a tech looked at it, diagnosed it and said that it was a clock spring. They fix the clock spring and said that should fix the problem. Unfortunately, the north continue and got louder. I brought the vehicle back in and they said that they had to fix the steering box and that it was fixed and would not have any more issues. A month later, May 2026 the noise reappeared and I took it back to Honda. They are now saying they know that it is a safety issue it is diagnosed that it is the gear steering box once again, but there is no resolution to fix it. My car have been Nyos wrong three times and the issue is still not fixed. From the beginning, I was misled and told that they would have in place for me about exchanging the vehicle never happened never try to reach out or anything at this time I’m paying for a vehicle they

1. Loss of left rear wheel while driving. The vehicle is with the insurance and may be available for inspection. 2. Loss of control on a tollway with speed limit 75 mph as the wheel came off while driving, involving the vehicle collapsing on the rear left side and air bags on the left side being deployed. It could have lead to a fatal incident involving many vehicles. 3. Not yet. 4. It was inspected by the police and has currently been released from the tow yard to the insurance. 5. No warnings at all.

While driving on the Florida Turnpike Friday 05/15/2026, sunroof spontaniously shattered. It was a clear day and no cars around me. I have paid to get it fixed but I believe this is a saftey issue and should be recalled and money spent reimbursed..

The steering on the '25 Hybrid Sport L is a little loose? Even small movements make the car drift, and it's hard to keep it straight. the feels like the car won’t track straight. The Lane keep assist does not work like the 10th gen. It’s like a ping pong bouncing off the lines. Who’s experiencing this as well.

2025 Honda Accord Hybrid experiences a severe, loud knocking noise when turning the steering wheel while stationary or at low speeds. The dealership attempted to grease the components but the mechanical knock remains. This is a known EPS/steering rack defect on the 11th generation Accord and poses a steering failure/binding safety risk at highway speeds.

I was driving on the interstate heading to work and suddenly heard an intense loud pop like a gunshot. My sunroof shattered right on top of me and all over the inside of my car. Thankfully I was able to safely pull off to the shoulder but it could've caused a serious incident.

I was driving down the highway, and the dash started to flash a message about the vehicle being unsafe to drive, stop driving immediately, call dealer. I was able to stop and then turn left across traffic with limited power; and continued to make my way back to work thinking I could probably get to my parking lot. The dash continued to display warning lights, starting with brake failure, then parking brake failure, and then the whole series of possible failures. I continued to drive about one mile. I shut the power off an powered up twice thinking that might reset the sensors; but they continued to fail. As I continued to drive there was limited power to the throttle, and I eventually coasted through a red light and into my work parking lot where the vehicle shut down entirely, and eventually fully locked up (couldn't start or event put in neutral to push). I had the vehicle towed to back to the dealer, and they diagnosed the problem as a failed transmission cooler. Of note, I had purchased the vehicle brand new less than 3 weeks before this incident and the vehicle had less than 600 total miles on it. There were no prior signs of trouble or warning lights.

I was driving on the freeway, no contact, I was taking a slight turn left and then my car buckled I lost full control of the car for a moment and the I gained it back but the whole steering wheel was misaligned.

The right-hand-side rear seat belt buckle has been under the seat ever since the vehicle was purchased in November 2024. I did not notice it at first. Recently, when I started dropping my daughter off at school, I noticed it. I tried pulling the buckle up, but it's completely stuck under the seat. I asked a local mechanic to pull it out. He gave me an estimate of $1000 because it requires disassembling the seat to remove the buckle. Now, I avoid using the vehicle to drop off my daughter. When I have to use the vehicle, I use the left-side buckle with the right-side strap. This is completely the manufacturer's incompetence and neglect toward passenger safety.

The moonroof is available for immediate inspection. Rudolph Honda in El Paso, Texas, refused to inspect it despite the severity of the incident. The glass shattered directly above my head while driving, creating an extreme risk of a major crash, permanent eye injury, or even death. This is not an isolated event—there are numerous reported cases of this vehicle’s moonroof spontaneously breaking. A third‑party autoglass specialist contracted by the dealership inspected the damage and confirmed an internal failure. The vehicle provided no warnings, alerts, or signs of any kind before the failure occurred.

Around 20,000 miles my car began having faint metallic clanking/clicking sounds turning left and recoiling back to the left under 15 miles an hour and while parked. My lane mitigation, see dealer light turned on for 5 minutes while backing in to a spot then turned off. No issues steering just noise. Glad I am not deaf and I know better because it was a very easy and quiet noise to ignore or miss. My steering is fine now but does not steer as thin and smoothly as before— not like any Honda steering I’ve encountered or when I first bough the car. Feels more stiff now but very drivable on the highway Although repaired under warranty, there are hundreds of Facebook, Reddit, and even NHSTA complaints of steering rack issues for 11th gen accords that have fallen on deaf ears. I am fortunate to have my problem fixed in a relatively quick manner and helpful Honda staff. I am concerned because I hear people complaining this problem coming back after 4-10k miles later. This is a major safety issue in the principle of it all. It is ridiculous that Type Rs and Acuras can get recalled steering racks but not Accord hybrid owners, some waiting 0-5 years for a steering rack recall while owners having to change them out like clockwork on their own dime outside of 36/36k. This is costing people money in tire degradation that Honda doesn't cover, mental stress, and it tarnishes the name of Honda if they don’t actively work to fix their mistake. NHTSA should have a duty to put pressure on Honda

The steering has been 'sticky' or 'notchy' since the vehicle was a few months old. With lane keeping off, driving in a straight line, when I perform a small steering input, it feels like the steering wheel is locked...when I push harder, it begins to act normally again. NHTSA recall 24V744 actually describes the symptom much better than I can. I have had the vehicle now 9 months and every time this happens, my heart skips a beat. I have complained to the dealer once, they burned half tank of fuel and told me 'its fine'. Next time I brought it for service, I complained again...because it is a safety issue...They said they would have to charge me to look at it...on a 9mo old vehicle. I'm scared to drive this vehicle because when will the steering completely fail and the car will crash?

At the time of the incident, the vehicle was being driven under normal conditions, below the speed limit, on an empty road. The driver suddenly experienced a loss of control, the vehicle became unresponsive, veered out of its lane, and did not respond to steering correction. The vehicle ultimately collided with an electric pole and was declared a total loss. At the time of the crash, no recall or warning had been issued. We reported the incident to Honda on October 23, 2025 (Case #[XXX]), describing the loss of control and unresponsiveness. However, no mention was made of any potential defect or safety concern. In January 2026, we received a recall notice stating that if the ICM CPU resets while the vehicle is in operation, it may cause loss of drive power and increase the risk of a crash. This description closely matches what occurred during our accident. We also informed the dealership, Scott Honda (Vineland, NJ), but our concerns were not investigated. When I rotate my steering I hear a weird sound from the steering. It feels like steering rack issue. It happens during drive as well as when parked. I think this can cause a massive safety problem if steering rack fails while driving. There are no warnings in the car. The problem appeared in mid 2025 and have continued since.
