Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2011-2018 Jeep Wrangler right hand drive vehicles. The driver's seat belt buckle mounting strap may fracture and separate from the seat frame.

Risk. A separated or severed seat belt buckle strap will result in an inoperable seat belt, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Remedy. FCA US will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver's seat belt buckle, free of charge. Interim notices informing owners of the safety risk were mailed November 19, 2019. Owners will received a second letter and the recall began March 26, 2020. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is VA6.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2010 Dodge Ram 3500, Ram 4500/5500, 2010-2011 Dodge Dakota, 2010-2014 Dodge Challenger, 2010-2015 Dodge Challenger, Chrysler 300, and 2010-2016 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. Upon deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to explode.

Risk. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger's frontal air bag, the inflator could explode with metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants potentially resulting in serious injury or death.

Remedy. Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the recall repair is complete. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began February 4, 2019. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is V01.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2011-2016 Right Hand Drive Jeep Wrangler vehicles manufactured February 16, 2010, to May 2, 2016. The clockspring assembly may become contaminated with dust and cause the air bag circuit to fail.

Risk. Failure of the air bag circuit may prevent the driver's frontal air bag from deploying in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the clockspring, wheel back cover, and column shroud, free of charge. The recall began on August 11, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S40.

From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. Both ORC module and ABS modules have failed on a 10 year old vehicle. Separate issues that greatly impact the cars safety and Stellantis refuses to anything about it to fix issues that can hurt americans. Both modules unresponsive through testing and causing critical safety systems to be inoperable.

CAN NOT PURCHASE AN ABS CONTROL MODUAL

I have been waiting for a part that has been on back order for over 1 year! I live in Hawaii and i understand these things take time but over 1 year of waiting is ridiculous! I’m currently being told by my dealership that I’m waiting for an abs module that’s been on back order for a long time already. I need to know if there are alternatives options for parts? A loaner? What are my options at this point?!

The ABS module has gone bad and there is no replacement available. I am concerned that my car is now lacking these essential safety features and it seems like there are no plans to ever make this part again. I am not sure what I can do if this part does not exist anymore.

I purchased my 2015 Jeep Wrangler as a new vehicle in Missouri in 2015. The vehicle has been appropriately maintained with no major repairs and has approximately 17,251 miles. On the afternoon on [XXX], I cranked my vehicle and several warning lights came on. The check engine, ABS, traction control, and parking brake lights all illuminated. I took the vehicle to Advance Auto for an initial code scan and had error codes U1120 (lost wheel distance), U1110 (lost vehicle speed), and U0121 (lost communication system with ABS module). I dropped the vehicle off the next morning for further diagnostics at a local Meineke location. The scans at Meineke confirmed the same error codes with an electrical system assessment determining a complete ABS module failure. In addition to the ABS module failing, the speedometer and odometer were also not working. Unfortunately, I discovered that Stellantis is no longer manufacturing the part and a significant backlog of when and if the part may ever become available again. This has resulted in an increased cost to repair since new parts are hard to find and very expensive, third-party parts are also hard to find, and companies that could repair and refurbish the part were no longer doing so due to challenges in getting the right parts for refurbishment. On [XXX] a new part was located in South Carolina, and the ABS module was replaced the next day. The total cost to repair was $3,140. This seems like straight price gouging given the cost to repair

The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the ABS, BRAKE, and traction control warning lights illuminated, and the cruise control became inoperable. Abs module has been bad now for over 1 years, I was 541 on waiting list with only 2 available nationwide, now still being told not available and "it's okay to drive without it" by the dealership, so no anti lock brakes, no cruise control, no traction control, this module is now over 1400 dollars to install but not available, hmmm part was 200 bucks before all the 2015 jeep wranglers start to experience the same issue and MOPAR wont make the part , it should be a recall before a driver or other road users get KILLED, this is being reported all over the USA, seems like all 2015 modules are the problem, (should have recalled the plastic abs oil cooler that is placed inside of engine block PLASTIC doesn't withstand heat, but I repaired that to a tune of 1800 bucks) then ABS module out jeep dealer put me on the list for part but not able to say if ever the module will be available, I checked Amazon they have them but was instructed not to use the product on my jeep that it would hurt other components on vehicle, PLEASE MAKE MOPAR make and install these faulty abs module, don't let them force the public to drive without safety features mandated in 2012 on all vehicles to have anti lock brakes, thanks for your attention, still waiting for over a year plus for a OEM part so my wife can safely drive the long distances she is required to do , this recall is way over due 😉

My ABS Module has failed with under 12,000 miles on a 2015 Jeep Wrangler JK. This is a known issue with the replacement module either unavailable or, what used to cost a few hundred dollars, now costing a few thousand dollars. Why is a car manufacturer permitted to produce a defective part critical to stopping a vehicle and then be rewarded handsomely for a repair to the issue it created? Many Jeep owners I have encountered are choosing not to repair their vehicles and are on the road in vehicles without antilock brakes. Surely this is a significant safety issue that should be remedied at the manufacturer’s expense.

I purchased this 2015 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon new and have maintained and serviced it regularly. At approximately 75,000–80,000 miles, the engine began developing a ticking noise from the passenger/right cylinder head area. The problem progressively worsened. At approximately 100,000 miles, repairs were performed involving the right-side cylinder head and camshaft because of camshaft/valvetrain wear and a persistent cylinder #2 misfire. The right-side cylinder head/camshaft area has required repair more than once. Rocker arms were also replaced, but the underlying problem continued. The vehicle now has approximately 150,000 miles. The engine recently shut down and developed a loud mechanical noise. Upon inspection, significant wear/damage was again found involving the right-side exhaust camshaft/valvetrain, and there are concerns involving the timing chain/tensioning system. A failure of these components while driving could cause sudden engine shutdown or loss of power, creating a safety risk. The vehicle has also developed electrical/safety-related problems. The airbag warning light is illuminated, and the steering-wheel controls and steering-wheel illumination are not functioning. The vehicle was involved in an accident in 2019; however, the engine ticking condition was already present before that accident, although it was less noticeable at that time. Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the odometer and Carfax report listed the mileage at 119,293; however, the mileage on the title was 124,544. The police was contacted.

I am filing this complaint regarding my 2015 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Sahara and a failure of the vehicle’s ABS module. The ABS module has failed, leaving the vehicle with a malfunctioning anti-lock braking system and related safety features. My greater concern is that the replacement ABS module is reportedly no longer being manufactured or made readily available. This leaves owners with very limited options to repair a critical safety system, including relying on used or refurbished components of uncertain reliability. The ABS system is an important safety component of the vehicle, and the inability to obtain a new replacement module creates a significant safety and consumer issue for owners of these vehicles. A vehicle that is otherwise mechanically serviceable should not effectively become unrepairable because a manufacturer-discontinued electronic component for a critical braking system is no longer available. I am asking NHTSA to investigate whether the lack of availability of replacement ABS modules for the Jeep Wrangler JK presents a safety concern and whether the manufacturer should be required to provide an appropriate remedy or continued access to replacement parts.

In October 2025, the Anti-lock Breaking System (ABS) Brake, traction control, downhill control indicators all illuminated. This also impacts cruise control and acceleration from a stopped position. My repair technician placed an order for the necessary ABS control module with MOPAR. The expected delivery date was August 2026. In August 2026, MOPAR informed them the part was on a nationwide back order with no ETR for resolution. I placed an order for the ABS Module in August 2026, with a suggested date of delivery in two weeks. MOPAR has advised us today 18 August 26, there is no ETR for this critical component to be available. Anti-lock brakes are federally mandated in all vehicles 2012 and beyond. Not having this module disables multiple required safety components in the vehicle not just ABS and puts the consumer, other drivers at risk.

I am contacting you to report a serious safety and parts availability issue involving my 2015 Jeep Rubicon. Jeep is no longer making the ABS module for my vehicle available and I have been unable to obtain a replacement module anywhere else. This has been an ongoing issue for several years now. The ABS system is an important safety component, and without a functioning ABS module, the vehicle can not be driven safely. What is particularly concerning is that Jeep has effectively left owners with no reasonable way to repair this critical safety system. This is not a consmetic or convenience related part. I was driving our 2015 Jeep Wrangler on the highway probably going around 60MPH and had a deer run in front of her and had to brake suddenly. The jeep skidded and fish taled slightly before coming to a complete stop and I avoided hitting the deer. The ABS system did not work. Ironically, the ABS and Traction Control lights had come on occasionally but would then go off. It's hit or miss whether these lights come on when you start the vehicle. We took the jeep to Barnes Automotive in Westminster Maryland and they diagnosed that the ABS module (Part 68259556AE) was bad and needed to be replaced. They said they tested it by clearing the error, but then after driving it around town, the error would appear again. They informed me that there is a national shortage of the part and they estimated there is a 90 day backorder. I can't wait 3 months to not drive the vehicle so they let me know just to be aware the vehicle will be ok to drive but to know that it doesn't have ABS if I need to make any sudden stops. Sounds like a very common issue with Jeep Wranglers.

I have a C2200 diagnostic code for an internal fault on my ABS module. This is on a national backorder, and the Jeep dealership told me there in no current ETA. Therefore, I have been driving around with no ABS. Sometimes the transmission will surge or bog down causing erratic behaviors on the road which nearly led to me rear ending someone. I worry what will happen if I am ever forced to slam on the brakes in an emergency, but unfortunately, I have no choice but to continue driving it.

Abs, brake, and traction control lights on. A jeep dealership was able to discern that the abs module is the cause and that part is on back order for months. In the meantime my vehicle is unfixable even if I were to find a used part from a donor vehicle.

The dealer was made aware of the recall but informed the contact that parts were not yet available. Incident: On the morning of July 14, 2026, (rush hour), I was driving my 2015 Jeep (VIN [XXX]; approximately 28,000 miles) southbound on Interstate 75 toward Miami International Airport. I was traveling at approximately 75 mph when several dashboard warning lights suddenly illuminated: •Brake warning •ABS •Sway bar •Stability control •Transmission The Jeep speed dropped dramatically while the engine rpm increased sharply. The sudden deceleration caused a near pileup among the vehicles behind me, but no collision occurred. Aftermath: After the abrupt slowdown, the speedometer displayed no reading. To protect the engine, I continued operating the Jeep at 3 to 3500 rpm max, and an estimated speed of 20–25 mph. I was able to exit Interstate 75 a few miles from the initial incident and eventually reached Park 'N Fly near MIA Airport. Dealer Findings: Upon trip return on XXX, I took the Jeep to Bomnin Chrysler-Jeep (invoice XXX). The dealer advised me that: •The Jeep's ABS had failed. •The reduced-speed condition was a built-in "protective" feature known as “limp mode.” •The failed ABS module, part number 68259556, is reportedly a common issue in Jeep JK models. •Stellantis no longer manufactures with part. As a result, the Jeep became inoperable for normal use and had to be transported approximately 150 miles from XXX to my residence. Safety Concern and Requested Action: I was fortunate that the road was dry and that no semi-truck was immediately behind me. The passenger vehicles

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to accelerate into a higher gear and went into LIMP Mode. The ABS warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel and was also illuminated prior to the failure. The vehicle was driven back to the residence. A few days later, the vehicle operated normally, but the failure recurred after being driven several times. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer, where a technician diagnosed the vehicle's ABS module failure. The contact was informed that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired out of pocket. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 81,000.

About a year ago my dashboard lit-up with a variety of ABS warning lights. My diagnostic module indicated a failure of the ABS module. I paid over $1400 for the part from Mopar and am still waiting with no guaranteed delivery date. Mopar calls the part a "special order," but should be part of the standard parts repair inventory. The braking has become unreliable (or "mushy") with extreme swerving on sudden breaking. Evidently, this is a wide-spread problem being experienced by many Jeep owners. I contend that there should be a safety recall before there is a serious accident or class-action.

A variety of warning light came on my display in September 2025 indicating a failure of the anti-lock braking module. I paid $1137.01 with Mopar Genuine Parts only to find that the part is on "universal back order." That was almost a year ago! It doesn't seem "usual and customary" to charge for a part before it is shipped. Also, driving the car in this condition poses a significant safety risk for which there appears to be no resolution. Aftermarket parts are not available or have poor customer reviews.

Lifters ticking noise causing damage to cam shafts.

ABS control module failure on a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. I can not find a new, use or rebuilt replacement. The earliest appointment that I can get at the local dealership is July 30, 2026. I went to a local independent repair shop. They verified the ABS control module failure but also can not find a new, use or rebuilt replacement. This happened to my daughter on her 2016 Jeep Wrangler about a year ago and my son on his 2016 Dodge Ram pickup. It took my son two years to find a replacement part. My daughter got tired of waiting and traded in her Jeep. Three failures in the same family can’t be a coincidence.

The anti-lock brake system (ABS) control module on my 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited failed, resulting in a C2200 internal ABS module fault. The failure disables the ABS, electronic stability control, and traction control safety systems. The failed component is available for inspection upon request. The initial symptoms were ABS, traction control, and stability control warning lights appearing intermittently. While driving, the vehicle experienced a loss of traction, a pulsating or pumping sensation in the brake pedal, and skidded easily upon heavy brake application. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, Jeep models were not included in the recall parameters. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed with electronic control unit (ECU), electronic stability control (ESC), traction control, and ABS failures. The vehicle was not repaired because the parts were on backorder. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 128,000.

I recently had the C2200 Code for ABS module failure. The fact there are no current parts available and there has been a waiting list for years is extremely troubling. I'm not sure how having a faulty ABS system is not an issue that warrants an investigation. There are a lot of Chrysler/Jeep vehicles on the road that are having to be driven in an unsafeanner due to not being able to repair the damaged parts. This is unacceptable.

I have a Bad ABS control module error code. Code C2200. The Module is not available to purchase. I had it back ordered for a year already till the dealer cancelled the order and refunded me the money. I am forced to drive my jeep this way. This needs to be addressed by the Jeep. Am the original owner of this 2015 Jeep Wrangler, which I purchased new. The vehicle has been properly maintained according to the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule. I have records documenting routine maintenance, including regular oil changes. At approximately 75,000 miles, I began hearing a persistent ticking noise from the engine. Because I was concerned that the noise could indicate a mechanical problem, I scheduled an inspection with an authorized Jeep dealership. The dealership diagnosed the vehicle with a failed rocker arm that caused damage to the exhaust camshaft. The dealership advised that the intake camshaft remained in good condition, indicating that the failure was isolated to the exhaust valvetrain at the time of diagnosis. This type of internal engine failure at approximately 80,000 miles was unexpected for a properly maintained vehicle. My concern is that if this condition is not diagnosed promptly, continued operation could result in further engine damage, loss of engine performance, engine misfire, or potential engine failure while the vehicle is being driven, creating a potential safety hazard. ABS module randomly fails. Affects abs and traction control systems.

CATASTROPHIC SAFETY COMPONENT FAILURE AND INCIDENT.The Antilock Brake System (ABS) Hydraulic / Electronic Control Module suffered an immediate, internal electronic failure, triggering active diagnostic trouble code C2200. This structural internal defect completely disabled the anti lock brakes, electronic stability control, and traction control systems simultaneously. This total system shutdown caused a severe, life threatening incident on a high speed highway in TEXAS. While driving with my children inside the vehicle, the brakes failed to respond normally during an essential braking event, resulting in a near-miss collision and nearly causing our JEEP to roll over due to the sudden loss of electronic stability and traction controls August 2024. The lack of basic safety infrastructure makes this vehicle completely unsafe to operate, posing an extreme risk to my family and other drivers on the road.The component failure and active code C2200 were officially inspected, reproduced, and confirmed by a factory authorized Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership workshop. However, the manufacturer (Chrysler/Mopar) has placed this critical safety component on an indefinite, long term engineering backlog. The dealership parts department formally verified a national backlog of over 436 unfilled consumer orders for this exact part, stating that many safety compromised owners have been left stranded without a repair for 1 to 2 years! I am submitting this complaint regarding a serious safety defect affecting my 2015 Jeep Wrangler. More than a year ago, the ABS module in my vehicle failed. Since that failure, the ABS warning light, brake warning light, and traction control warning light have remained illuminated. As a result, my vehicle no longer has functioning Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), traction control, electronic stability control functions, or cruise control. The loss of these safety systems significantly increases the risk of an accident, particularly during emergency braking situations, wet road conditions, loose gravel, or any circumstance where wheel lockup or loss of traction may occur. Without ABS, the wheels can lock during hard braking, increasing stopping distance and reducing steering control. Without traction control and stability control, the vehicle is more susceptible to skidding, fishtailing, and loss of control. I have contacted multiple Jeep dealerships seeking repairs. I have consistently been informed that the ABS module required to repair the vehicle is unavailable and has been on indefinite backorder. Dealership personnel have been unable to provide any estimated availability date or permanent repair solution. While researching this issue, I discovered that numerous Jeep Wrangler owners have reported the same ABS module failure. Some dealerships have confirmed that new replacement modules issued in 2023–2024 were defective or failed to program properly, and were later placed on engineering hold by Jeep corporate. In the meantime, affected owners have been forced to seek out unreliable salvaged units or third-party rebuilders at their own cost and risk. Abs module all ready replaced rear wheel speed censer and connector replaced wires abs goes off and the brakes sound Grinding noise and vehilcle shakes. Brakes and rotors are new. Chrysler is doing nothing about replacement abs modules. This is a safety hazard it has now happened a few times and we can’t find new modules. I purchased my 2015 Jeep Wrangler approximately a year and a half ago. At the time of purchase, the ABS, Traction Control, and Brake warning lights were illuminated on the dashboard. The dealership told me these lights were caused by a simple sensor issue that was on backorder and would be resolved later. About two weeks ago, while driving, my Jeep suddenly went into limp mode. I had two independent mechanics inspect the vehicle, and both confirmed that the diagnostic codes pointed to a failed ABS Module. I then contacted the dealership where I purchased the vehicle. They acknowledged that the ABS Module is still on backorder but claimed they did not believe the module was the issue, despite the diagnostic results from two separate mechanics. The ABS Module has now completely failed, and the vehicle is unsafe to drive. The ABS, Traction Control, and Brake systems are not functioning, and the Jeep cannot be operated normally. I am unable to drive my vehicle due to this safety‑critical failure. This appears to be a widespread issue with ABS Modules on this model year, and replacement parts are unavailable. I am submitting this report so NHTSA can investigate whether this ABS Module failure represents a broader safety defect that requires action.

Traction control, ABS, and brake light all illuminated, then on 5/3/2026 while driving the speedometer quit completely. Replaced all 4 wheel speed sensors to see if it would help and nothing changed.

I parked my car fully functioning with no lights on the dash board, after getting back in the car i had the abs light, brake light and stability light on. I checked the codes and i had a C2200 code.The ABS module is bad and the part has been back ordered since 2021 from Jeep/Stelantis. Now the part is discontinued and there is no solution at this time. These cars are driving on the road with no ABS or stability control because the manufacturer has not released a replacement part in over 5 years. This is a major saftey concern and there have already been multiple accidents attributed to this defect. Were not even asking for a free fix we just want our vehicles able to drive safely and there is no option to fix it. This problem is only getting worse as time goes on. This is a widespread issue with 2014-2018 wranglers.

On 4/09/26 my trac control/ ABS and BRAKE light illuminated on the dash and the hill descent assist flashes . When diagnosed at shop code C2200 was found. ( module internal failure). This is a known problem to stallantis who has had problems for several years now with this module. They now have an engineering hold on it with no plans of fixing the situation. This is a mandatory safety equipment and a national recall should be made, and they should have to fix their equipment. How is it safe or even legal to let this type of thing happen?

My ABS module failed on my Jeep wrangler. I have talked to multiple dealerships and every single dealership has stated that this is a known issue on Jeeps and the manufacturers are well aware that there are issues with them. The dealerships have also stated there is no current fix for the ABS modules except sending them out to people who claim they can rebuild them. The majority of companies that claim they can rebuild these modules are fraudulent. This is a major liability, not having proper breaking systems, especially on a vehicle prone to being more unstable on the road due to the nature of its design. I have been dealing with this for at least 4 years with no resolve. Dealerships that claim they can fix them charge outrageous prices. The manufacturers should be held accountable for this inherit design flaw on these vehicle vehicles and issue a recall instead of allowing vehicles braking systems to fail and then making the customers pay to fix them

A local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that the ABS module needed to be replaced; however, the part was on back order. The fuses were replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 107,000.

Additionally, the contact stated while making turns, the air bag warning light illuminated, and the vehicle made a beeping sound. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with the steering wheel clockspring failure. The contact was informed that the clockspring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V018000 (Air Bags); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

I purchased a used 2015 Jeep Wrangler from a dealership in New York. At the time of sale, the vehicle had an open urgent safety recall (19V-018) for a defective Takata passenger airbag inflator. This recall was never disclosed to me by the dealership prior to or at the time of purchase. The recall advisory was noted on the NYS inspection report conducted the same morning the vehicle was sold to me, but was not communicated to me in any way. I discovered the open recall after experiencing repeated mechanical failures following purchase. Four days after purchase the vehicle overheated and had to be towed — the coolant system was found to be completely empty. An independent licensed mechanic subsequently inspected the vehicle and stated on record that the mechanical defects appeared to be pre-existing conditions that existed prior to the sale. The vehicle currently has an unrepaired Takata airbag inflator which the manufacturer has identified as capable of exploding and sending metal fragments into the vehicle interior at high speed, risking serious injury or death to occupants. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The recall remains unrepaired. The dealership was contacted and a manager verbally acknowledged they did not disclose the known defect prior to sale.

The ABS Module needs to be replaced and the part isn't being made anymore.

2015 Jeeps have know issues with the TIPM and ABS module. There have been recalls for these on Dodges and other model jeeps. Something needs to be done to fix this. You can't even get a new ABS module for this jeep and haven't been able to for years. Please help us. This is a huge safety concern!!
