2019 Jeep Wrangler

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The wiring harness for the rearview camera and the center brake light may short circuit, which can disable the rearview camera image and center brake light. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 111, "Rear Visibility" and 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Risk. A rearview camera image that does not display decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, a center brake light that fails to illuminate can fail to indicate to other drivers that the vehicle is slowing down, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers replaced the harness for the center brake light and rearview camera and/or the spare tire carrier/harness assembly, as necessary, free of charge. All vehicles were repaired by January 15, 2024. Owner notification letters were mailed September 26, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Jeep Gladiator and 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The instrument panel cluster may experience an internal short circuit and fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Controls and Displays."

Risk. An instrument panel that fails to display critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the instrument panel cluster, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed between October 3, 2024, and January 23, 2025. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is 30B.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2023 Jeep Wrangler, and 2020-2023 Jeep Gladiator vehicles equipped with manual transmissions. The clutch pressure plate may overheat and fracture.

Risk. Overheated clutch components may increase the risk of a fire. Additionally, damage to other nearby components can result in debris falling onto the road or a loss of drive, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the clutch assembly and update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed from November 16, 2023 through July 25, 2024. Owners may contact (FCA US, LLC) customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US LLC's number for this recall is 19A. This recall expands and replaces previous recall 21V-028. Vehicles previously repaired under recall 21V-028 will need to have the new remedy completed.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2021 Jeep Wrangler and 2020-2021 Jeep Gladiator vehicles equipped with manual transmissions. The clutch pressure plate may overheat and fracture.

Risk. Overheated clutch components may increase the risk of a fire. Additionally, damage to other nearby components can result in debris falling onto the road or a loss of drive, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. FCA US LLC will notify owners, and dealers will add software to reduce engine torque capability when clutch assembly temperatures rise to a level that may damage the inner pressure plate, free of charge." FCA has ordered a stop sale for the affected vehicles as of February 25, 2021. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 4, 2021.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2019 Jeep Wrangler and Ram 2500, 2019-2020 Ram 1500 and 2020 Jeep Gladiator vehicles. In the event of a crash, a front seat belt retractor may not properly slow the occupant's forward movement after locking.

Risk. In the event of a crash, if the front seat belts fail to lock, there is an increased risk of injury.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front seat belt retractors, free of charge. The recall began November 12, 2020. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is W67.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2020 Jeep Gladiator and Jeep Cherokee, 2019-2020 Ram 1500 Pickup, Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler, and Jeep Renegade and 2019 Dodge Challenger vehicles equipped with 8.4" or 12" radio displays. A software error can cause the rearview camera image to remain displayed after the vehicle has been shifted out of reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rearview Mirrors."

Risk. The lingering rearview image can distract the driver, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler has notified owners, and dealers will update the radio display software, free of charge. Optionally, owners can choose to remotely update their software via an Over-The-Air (OTA) update available as of May 1, 2020. The recall began April 27, 2020. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is W30-W37.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Jeep Wrangler and 2020 Gladiator vehicles equipped with manual transmissions. The clutch pressure plate may overheat and fracture.

Risk. The overheated clutch components may increase the risk of a fire. Additionally, damage to other nearby components can result in debris falling onto the road or a loss of drive, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will reroute a wire harness and inspect the clutch system, and replace components as needed. The recall began April 30, 2020. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is W12.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2019 Jeep Wrangler and 2019 Ram 1500 vehicles. These vehicles have improperly machined steering column stub shafts that may break, possibly causing the steering wheel to detach from the steering column.

Risk. If the steering wheel detaches from the steering column, the driver may lose control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the steering column, replacing it, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began April 5, 2019. Owners may contact FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is V29.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The front track bar brackets may be improperly welded, which can cause the bracket to separate from the frame, reducing steering capability.

Risk. An unexpected reduction in steering ability, can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and repair the track bar bracket welds, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin November 17, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is UA5.

The left front brake line has failed and needed replacement on 2 occasions. The brake line gets a restriction that causes the vehicle to veer to the right under braking. It also is causing uneven rotor and caliper ware resulting in a high pitched squeal under load.

While driving my 2019 Jeep Wrangler, the vehicle suffered a major electronic/CAN-network failure. Service Shifter, ABS and ESC warnings appeared, the wipers activated on their own, controls malfunctioned, and power-steering assistance failed while the vehicle was moving, making it extremely difficult to steer. My two young children were in the vehicle. Jeep dealer diagnostics showed widespread communication faults involving steering, ABS/brake, transmission and other control modules. The dealer replaced the power-steering assembly and RF Hub, but the problem remains. On the first drive after repair, the ABS and ESC warnings repeatedly flashed on and off at highway speed. Interior lights are also flickering. I am concerned another network failure could again disable steering assistance or compromise ABS/braking-related safety systems and cause loss of vehicle control or a crash.

Vehicle went into dealer for diagnostic, update PCM for hill start assist and cruise control failure. Dealer identified pcm update was not done when clutch recall performed. Instrument cluster update was pushed as well. Instrument cluster bricked. headlight indicator only functioning light on cluster. All gauges and information screen are dark. no functionality. Car has been sitting at the dealership since July 1, 2026 waiting on a replacement instrument cluster.

2019 Jeep Wrangler JLU experienced intermittent CAN-C communication failure. Vehicle has repeatedly experienced simultaneous loss of multiple electronic systems. On September 7th 2026, while driving, vehicle unexpectedly lost electric power steering, windshield wipers activated without command, ABS/TPMS/ESC warning lights illuminated, and vehicle subsequently would not shift into gear after stopping at a traffic light. Hazard lights would not activate. After shutting vehicle off, vehicle would not enter ACC or restart normally. Opening driver’s door unexpectedly caused vehicle to enter ACC. Manipulating the CAN-bus wiring/STAR connector behind the glove box has historically temporarily restored normal operation. Vehicle has previously required repair to this wiring/connector, and the failure has recurred. This has been occurring for at least 3 years and since 60,000 miles. This presents a significant safety hazard because steering assistance, shifting/propulsion, and signaling were simultaneously affected while driving. It is a known Chrysler issue (FCA STAR Case S2108000146) and should be recalled as there is a CLEAR and present danger with this ongoing issue.

The IPC Cluster completely blank. Unsafe to operate vehicle, as speed was unknown, unable to read fuel gauges, and unable to see any warning lights. Experienced the exact problem noted in Recall Campaign 30B/NHTSA 24-V 652 for jeeps with the 3.5 inch cluster layout, and my VIN is not listed on the recall list.

Getting the well know Jeep "Death Wobble". Was advised by Carvana when I bought this vehicle that it had an open recall for this exact issue (Manufacturer Recall Number CDJR XF1) due to the Steering Damper having air in it. However, when I contacted a Jeep dealership to get it fixed, I was told there is no recall for the Steering Damper for my specific vehicle. When I look it up on NHTSA, there isn't a recall listed on here either. Whenever I hit transitions in the pavement while driving above 50mph, I get the death wobble on the front of the vehicle. I have not yet had it repaired, but I plan to do so regardless of whether a recall exists. This is clearly an affected vehicle that was wrongly excluded from the manufacturer's recall for the Steering Damper on vehicles manufactured prior to August 11, 2020. My vehicle was manufactured in April 2019, so it is definitely in the correct date range, and with the exact same issue of others that were recalled. The only reason I have not crashed is because I've taken EVOC classes (for driving firetrucks and ambulances), and I am able to control it when it does happen. There were approximately 65k miles on the vehicle when I bought it, and there is about 72k miles now. It has been happening since I bought it in December 2025 from Carvana.

The IPC Cluster stopped working and the screen is completely blank. It is unsafe to drive since I don’t know how fast I’m going, how much gas is in the tank, and inability to see any warning lights. The recall for this is Recall Campaign 30B/NHTSA 24-V 652 for jeeps with the 3.5 inch cluster layout, which I have but my VIN is not listed on the recall list. It should be!

Check engine, ABS, Service Shifter suddenly pops up and the steering was hard to turn almost had an accident

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the instrument panel was blank. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed with instrument cluster failure. The contact was informed that the instrument cluster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was awaiting the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000 (Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was unknown.

The 3.5-inch Instrument Panel Cluster went completely black while operating the vehicle, causing a total loss of speedometer and critical safety indicators (violating FMVSS 101). Concurrently, the engine computer limited vehicle performance to 3,000 RPM (limp mode). The vehicle exhibits the exact failure mode detailed in NHTSA Campaign 24V-652 (Jeep Recall 30B), but the manufacturer has not yet added this VIN to the recall population.

ABS pump and module combination is making brake calipers to not released. It’s been two times in 6 months my brakes are used up and calipers locked. Jeep knows this issue across its brand of vehicles but not called for a recall. Parts are also in back order that says lot of vehicles has issues. Confirmed with local dealership.

VEHICLE & INCIDENT: 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL 2.0L Turbo. While climbing an extended grade on Hwy 87, vehicle experienced a sudden sluggish throttle anomaly and rapid coolant temperature spike from ~215F to 255F under load. Vehicle was pulled off and shut down within ~20 seconds. SUSPECTED FAILURE MODE & UNDERHOOD FIRE: Upon opening the hood, pressurized coolant had sprayed across the engine bay from a split in the smaller rubber hose branch of the engine coolant outlet assembly (Mopar PN 68280797AC). The hose split longitudinally ~13mm with the center ~32mm from the hose end. The vehicle is equipped with a Baja Designs T-Fitting to replace 68280784A The hot, pressurized coolant sprayed directly onto the exposed, center section of the turbocharger between the compressor and turbine sections and on the turbine section itself. The coolant is suspected to have flash-ignited on contact with the turbo, creating an active under hood fire that began spreading to the hood insulation liner. The fire was successfully doused roadside with water, preventing a total vehicle burn-down. No other fuel sources were noted and the lines to the turbocharger were intact and did not show evidence of a leak. SAFETY CONCERN / HAZARD FOR NHTSA: 1. FIRE HAZARD: Pressurized factory coolant hoses and plastic junctions on the 2.0T GMET4 are routed in close proximity to the unshielded turbine housing. The vehicle is experiencing severe, premature galvanic corrosion on the doors, hinges, and hood due to a documented factory defect where aluminum panels press directly against steel hinges without proper isolation (acknowledged by the manufacturer in TSB 31-001-24).This is a critical structural and safety hazard covered under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 206, which regulates door locks and door retention components. The advanced sub-surface corrosion is causing the metal surrounding the door hinges to degrade and oxidize, causing the paint to blister, bubble, and flake off. Over time, this structural failure poses an imminent safety risk of causing the door hinges to seize or bind, potentially jamming the doors shut during an emergency and trapping occupants inside the vehicle. Furthermore, the degradation of these hinge components creates a severe risk of the doors failing and opening unexpectedly while the vehicle is in motion at highway speeds.The manufacturer is refusing to address this structural defect because the vehicle passed its 5-year calendar warranty window, ignoring the fact that this sub-surface chemical reaction takes years to visibly manifest. This defect requires a formal safety investigation and an expanded recall to protect drivers from door-retention failures.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. While the contact's daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, the heated steering wheel feature was enabled; however, the heated steering wheel feature failed to function as intended. In addition, the contact became aware of a burning odor. The contact deactivated the heated steering wheel feature. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with interior melting of the steering wheel. The contact was informed that the steering wheel and the steering wheel housing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the parts were ordered. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not associated with a recall related to the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline and report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 71,663.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power and stalled, and the vehicle went into LIMP Mode. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The driver was able to safely move the vehicle to the side of the road. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the ABS module had failed. The local dealer was contacted and advised that the replacement part was on backorder and referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that the replacement part was not available. The failure mileage was approximately 68,482.

The front left (drivers side) caliper stuck and the the brake line needs replaced. The caliper sticking was causing extreme heat that could have caused a fire as well as brake failure. The repair shop confirmed that the parts need replaced. No warning messages were ever appear. Additionally, the left brake line from Mopar is not available and there are almost a 1000 on back order. The Jeep is not drivable and no parts available for the foreseeable future to fix the problem.

Instrument panel cluster has malfunctioned. Spedometer, tachometer, odometer, fuel guage, oil temperature, tire pressuer, and several other dashboard displays both analog and digital are not functional. The instruments on the dashboard have gone blank and do not provide a reading when the car is powered on. As a consequence of the instrument panel cluster failure, I am unable to see my exact speed, potential vehicle warning indications, and fuel levels while operating the vehicle putting the safety of myself and others at risk. The vehichle has a history of dealership and mechanic inspections. No warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms were evident prior to the failure of the instrument panel cluster.

Instrument panel cluster failing making it difficult to determine mph, fuel in vehicle, mileage, etc. panel was flashing and blacking out while driving creating a distraction, photos could not be obtained during worst of incident because actively driving.

There was a recall done on the clutch system back in 2023 and now the same problem has occurred, and I have to replace my entire clutch system.

Instrument panel cluster failure in my 2019 jeep wrangler unlimted sport. instrument panel cluster +9 Stellantis (Jeep) recalled certain 2019 Jeep Wranglers (Campaign 24V-652 or Recall #30B) because their 3.5-inch instrument panel clusters can short-circuit and go completely dark. This causes you to lose your speedometer and critical warning lights, increasing crash risks. Dealers replacement . Thing is none of all 4 are honoring this recall. Im having the same issues as this recall. FCA, NHTSA, CHRYSLER/JEEP, STELLANTIS. ALL 4 i have called even made a complaint and all i get is so rry cant help you cause my vin number is not on the recall yet having the same recall issues.
