Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Focus and 2013-2016 Fusion vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall numbers 18V169 and 18V845. The clutch may fracture, resulting in damage to the transmission assembly and possibly a transmission fluid leak.

Risk. A transmission fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source such as hot engine or exhaust components can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Dealers will update the software, free of charge. Additionally, dealers will inspect Focus vehicles and replace the clutch assembly as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed August 5, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available. Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2018 Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles. The front brake hoses may rupture and leak brake fluid.

Risk. A brake fluid leak will increase brake pedal travel and extend the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the front brake hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 27, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 23S12.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2019 Escape, 2013-2018 C-Max, 2013-2016 Fusion, 2013-2021 Transit Connect, and 2015-2018 Edge vehicles. The bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission may degrade or detach.

Risk. A damaged or missing bushing may prevent the vehicle from shifting into the intended gear, and cause the vehicle to move in an unexpected direction. Additionally, the vehicle may roll after the driver selects the 'Park' position. Either scenario increases the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the under hood shift bushing and add a protective cap over the shift cable bushing, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters, informing owners of the safety risk, were mailed July 1, 2022. Remedy parts are expected to be available in 4th Quarter 2022. Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2014-2015 Fusion, Lincoln MKZ, and 2015 Mustang vehicles originally sold or ever registered, in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Hawaii. Exposure to certain environmental conditions, such as high temperatures, high humidity, and salt air can cause the brake pedal bumper to corrode and separate from the brake pedal.

Risk. A separated brake pedal bumper can cause the brake lights to illuminate continuously, causing confusion to other drivers and increasing the risk of a crash. On automatic transmission vehicles, a missing brake pedal bumper can allow the driver to shift the vehicle out of the "PARK" position without depressing the brake, allowing the vehicle to rollaway, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the brake pedal bumpers and clutch pedal bumpers, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed on March 4, 2022. Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2014-2015 Fiesta, 2014-2016 Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles sold, or ever registered in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Washington, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan), and the U.S. Virgin Islands. A component within the door latches may break making the doors difficult to latch and/or leading the driver or a passenger to believe a door is securely closed when, in fact, it is not.

Risk. A door that is not securely latched could open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and Ford or Lincoln dealers will replace the side door latches, free of charge. The recall began September 21, 2020. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 20S15.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ, 2015-2016 Ford Edge, and 2016 Lincoln MKX vehicles originally sold, or currently registered in Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Road salt or other contaminants may corrode the electric power steering gear motor attachment bolts.

Risk. If the bolts corrode, the steering gear motor may detach from the gear housing resulting in a loss of power steering assist, requiring a greater steering effort, especially at lower speeds, and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering gear motor bolts and apply a wax sealer. If any of the steering gear motor attachment bolts are broken or missing, a new steering gear will be installed in the vehicle. These repairs will be performed free of charge. Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015 Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles. In the event of a crash, heat from the deployment of a seat belt pretensioner may cause a front seat belt anchor cable to fail.

Risk. A failed seat belt anchor cable cannot properly restrain the front seat occupants, increasing their risk of injury.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will apply a protective coating to the seat belt cable, free of charge. The recall began September 9, 2019. The bushing that attaches the transmission shifter cable to the transmission may degrade over time and cause the bushing to detach from the transmission. The condition could allow the driver to move the shift lever to Park and remove the ignition key, while the transmission may not be in Park, with no warning message or audible chime.

Risk. If the vehicle is exited without the transmission being in Park and without the parking brake being applied, the vehicle may unexpectedly move, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the shifter cable bushing, free of charge. The recall began September 10, 2019. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. The bushing that attaches the transmission shifter cable to the transmission may degrade over time and cause the bushing to detach from the transmission. The condition could allow the driver to move the shift lever to Park and remove the ignition key, while the transmission may not be in Park, with no warning message or audible chime.

Risk. If the vehicle is exited without the transmission being in Park and without the parking brake being applied, the vehicle may unexpectedly move, increasing the risk of a crash.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Lincoln MKZ and Ford Fusion vehicles. The steering wheel retaining bolt may loosen allowing the steering wheel to detach while driving.

Risk. A steering wheel detachment can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering wheel bolt with a longer bolt, free of charge. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 18S08.

Year/Make/Model: 2015 Ford Fusion Engine Type: 1.5L EcoBoost 4-Cylinder Description of Safety Flaw and Incident: My vehicle is experiencing severe overheating and internal engine fluid loss due to the widely documented Ford EcoBoost coolant intrusion defect. The vehicle routinely runs hot, losing coolant rapidly with no external signs of a visible hose or radiator leak as well as failure of the brake lighting stop bumper and purge valve connecting to the gasline after fueling. This issue causes the vehicle to rapidly overheat while in motion, forcing sudden loss of engine power (limp mode) during highway driving. Car not properly cranking after fueling and brake light continuously being on even when brakes not being pressed. This unexpected drop in speed creates an immediate crash hazard for myself and surrounding traffic. Coolant entering the combustion chamber also fouls the spark plugs, causing severe engine stalling, rough idling, and misfires. I've spent several dollars fixing these malfunctions that have continuously persist. Ford Motor Company has historically been aware of this structural defect involving coolant leaking across the cylinder bore walls, yet failed to issue a comprehensive safety recall for 2015 models. I am filing this complaint to urge the NHTSA to open a formal defect investigation and mandate a safety recall, as this component failure leaves drivers stranded in hazardous traffic situations.

Recall 22S43 failed less than 5 months after completion, causing total vehicle immobilization in reverse on a live roadway.

The 2015 ford fusion are very known for this issue with coolant lost and more recently I was driving and a warning popped up saying my coolant was over temps so I pulled over and turned the car off next thing you know my coolant was gone and I just filled it up. To make it even worse my mechanic told me it’s a known issue and ford doesn’t even cover it because it isn’t a recall

I was involved in a serious rollover crash in which my vehicle rolled approximately two times. During the crash, I struck my head and suffered a deep laceration that required five stitches, along with a concussion. I also experienced numbness in my head for several days afterward. The crash caused extensive damage to my vehicle, which was ultimately determined to be a total loss. Multiple windows shattered, the windshield was severely damaged and pushed inward, and there was significant damage to the roof and body of the vehicle. Despite the severity of the rollover and the amount of damage to the vehicle, none of the airbags deployed at any point during the crash. I am concerned that the airbag system may not have functioned properly and that the lack of airbag deployment may have contributed to the severity of my injuries. As a result of the injuries I sustained, I have also been unable to return to work and have been placed on medical leave while I recover. This has affected both my ability to work and my day-to-day functioning following the crash.

When driving off and on the power steering will go out and different warning lights will come on including “hill parking assist is off”.

The contact safely pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the steering gear motor had failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 15V250000 (Steering) and 19V632000 (Steering). The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V250000 (Steering); however, the recall repair failed to prevent the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 177,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that there was an abnormal popping sound coming from the vehicle while pulling out of the driveway and driving approximately 10 MPH. The contact stated that the steering wheel seized and locked up. The power steering, Hill Assist, and brake warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the steering gear had failed and the bolts were corroded. I am reporting a potential safety defect involving an Evenflo Revolve360 child restraint. Manufacturer: Evenflo Product: Revolve360 Model: CS360212464 Manufactured: September 26, 2025 Purchased: XXX from Target The seat was used rear-facing by my [XXX] daughter, who weighs approximately 27 pounds. After only about four months of normal use, I discovered significant localized fraying/tearing of the harness webbing. I have photographs documenting the damage. The damage appears concentrated in a specific area of the harness webbing near where it passes through/contacts components of the seat. I do not see corresponding damage to the surrounding fabric, foam, plastic, metal structure, or other visible areas that would readily indicate an environmental cause. I contacted Evenflo and provided photographs. Evenflo stated that the damage “appears to be related to external environmental factors” and that the components contacting the strap are smooth and rounded. However, Evenflo did not identify what specific environmental factor caused the damage or what physical evidence supports that conclusion. Evenflo also advised that the seat could be used in booster mode if my child met the requirements. This is not an applicable solution because my daughter is only [XXX] old, [XXX] pounds, and still rear-facing. Rear view camera goes out or says not available.

BACK UP CAMERA GLITCHES OFF AND ON - WILL WORK AND THEN CUTS OFF WHILE BACKING UP REPEATLY - BLUE SCREEN

I have a coolant intrusion into the engine and blew my engine in the middle of driving down the highway. No signs, no warning. Lost control, ended up on side of road. Had husband pull it the rest of the way home.

IT FEEL AS IF THERE IS NO POWER STEERING. RAN CODE REPLACED THE Steering wheel angle sensor AND THAT DIDN’T SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I CANNOT STAIR THE STEERING WHEEL GETS LOCKED UP ..

Engine warning display came on with "cylinder over temperature" immediately after temperature gauge went from normal (slightly under 1/2 way) to "Hot" immediately. Shut off engine - opened hood, coolant was noticed on passenger side just below coolant bottle. After waiting a little bit the tempature on the gauge hadn't dropped any & the radiator was cool to the touch. The day before washer fluid was added, while there the other levels were checked after sitting all night, the coolant was showing within the marked operating zone. Ended up calling for a tow truck.

UNKNOWN: Left rear door latch is not working, door keeps open after trying to closed it. Safety issue is door opens by accident during driving!

I was driving down the road. And front wheels stopped working suddenly. It’s better that I was on streets. Otherwise I could have met with an accident. My mechanic told me that steering rack had gone. I never get any recall for that. I had driven 1400 miles till now.

My drivers side door would not latch due to what I assume is issue that was recalled on similar vehicles

I bought the 2015 ford fusion for my son as a graduation present as he headed off to college on his own. The car started misfiring upon cold start for about 5-10 seconds. Eventually the car started misfiring while driving. He frequently had to pull over on the side of the road while driving to make it to his destination. I had him take the car to a ford dealership to be inspected. To my surprise, Ford Parks of Wesley Chapel told me that the 2015 Ford Fusion 1.5L ecoboost has a known issue with coolant leaking into the engine causing misfiring and eventually engine failure. They offered no assistance in fixing the problem. They told me the cost to replace the engine was over 13,000.00.

The contact stated while reversing at an undisclosed speed, the failure recurred, causing the rear-end to strike a pole. The contact sustained a whiplash, and minor neck pain but did not seek medical assistance. The trunk of the vehicle sustained a dent. Upon looking up recall information on the Ford website, the contact became aware that the VIN was included in Customer Satisfaction Program Number: 25N17 (Rear-view Camera Replacement if Required after Dealer Evaluation). The dealer was contacted and scheduled a repair appointment; however, the trunk repair was not covered under the recall. The manufacturer was contacted and denied liability for collateral damage. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing excessive coolant consumption, causing the low coolant pressure warning light to illuminate prematurely. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with coolant intrusion in the combustion. The contact was informed that the head gasket or the engine needed to be replaced immediately to prevent further issues. Additionally, the contact was informed that the failure was due to a faulty engine design. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that although the model year was affected, the vehicle was not covered. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.

While driving, the car’s acceleration started to slow down an no matter how much I pressed the gas, it wouldn’t go. I was only able to do 5 miles an hour. It was a loud noise like it was reving up, but wasn’t going anywhere. There was no warning lights. I did not have any issues previously nor had any repairs made. I took it to the auto repair shop the same day and they had confirmed it was the transmission.
