Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2007-2011 Ranger, 2006-2012 Fusion, Lincoln Zephyr, Lincoln MKZ, 2006-2011 Mercury Milan, 2007-2010 Ford Edge, and Lincoln MKX vehicles. The driver's side air bag inflator may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.

Risk. An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver-side airbag inflator or module with an alternate one, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 9, 2021 for the passenger side, and November 14, 2022 for the driver side. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the driver and passenger air bag module, and replace either the module or the inflator, if necessary, free of charge. Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain air bag inflator and/or module replacement service parts that may have been used as part of a collision repair. The parts include certain driver-side air bag inflators and/or modules, designed to fit 2005-2014 Ford Mustang and Mustang GT500. It also includes certain passenger-side air bag inflators and/or modules designed to fit 2005-2014 Ford Mustang, 2010-2012 Lincoln MKZ, 2010-2012 Ford Fusion, 2010-2011 Mercury Milan, 2007-2011 Ford Ranger, and 2007-2010 Lincoln MKX vehicles. Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2006-2010 Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, Lincoln Zephyr and MKZ vehicles. The valves within the ABS Hydraulic Control Units (HCU) may react with brake fluids containing specific corrosion preventative additives. This reaction may cause the valves to not close properly.

Risk. If the valves do not properly close, additional brake pedal travel may be required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will flush the brake system with DOT 4 fluid and install a new brake fluid reservoir cap. In addition, the HCU will be tested to detect a possible stuck valve condition, replacing the HCU as necessary. All services will be performed free of charge. The recall began April 1, 2021. Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2010 Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan and 2010-2012 Lincoln MKZ vehicles that previously received a replacement passenger air bag under recall 16V-384, 17V-024 or 18V-046. In the event of a crash requiring deployment of the passenger air bag, the bracket that secures the air bag inflator to the module housing may deform, allowing the gas that inflates the air bag to leak out.

Risk. If the air bag does not inflate as intended, there is an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2010-2011 Ford Fusion vehicles manufactured July 21, 2008, to March 4, 2011, and 2010-2011 Mercury Milan vehicles manufactured July 23, 2008, to December 10, 2010. The affected vehicles have fuel vapor canisters whose purge valves may not operate properly resulting in abnormal pressure changes in the fuel tank.

Risk. The pressure changes may cause the tank to crack and leak fuel. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle powertrain control modules and inspect the vehicle for any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for this issue and perform a leak test on the Canister Purge Valve (CPV). The fuel tank will be inspected for cracks. The CPV and fuel tank will be replaced as necessary. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2016. Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain all weather driver side accessory floor mats sold for use in model year 2006-2011 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, 2006 Lincoln Zephyr, and 2007-2011 Lincoln MKZ vehicles manufactured November 9, 2007, through October 31, 2010. The affected floor mats may move and possibly interfere with the accelerator pedal.

Risk. The floor mat could shift such that it could interfere with the accelerator pedal, preventing its return to an idle position, which could result in unintended vehicle speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will install new replacement mats, free of charge. The recall began in July 2014. Owners may contact Ford's customer service at 1-800-392-3673. NOTE: Vehicles built after October 31, 2010, while potentially equipped with the same floor mats, are equipped with a Brake Over Accelerator (BOA) feature that prevents simultaneous accelerator and brake application, allowing the vehicle to be safely stopped by pressing firmly and steadily on the brake pedal.

Defect. FORD IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010-2011 FORD FUSION AND MERCURY MILAN VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 17 INCH STEEL WHEELS AND BUILT FROM APRIL 1, 2009, THROUGH APRIL 30, 2009, AND FROM DECEMBER 1, 2009, THROUGH NOVEMBER 13, 2010. THE WHEEL STUDS MAY FRACTURE, POTENTIALLY CAUSING A WHEEL TO SEPARATE.

Risk. WHILE DRIVING, MULTIPLE STUD FRACTURES COULD OCCUR AT THE WHEEL LOCATION, AND THE OPERATOR MAY EXPERIENCE VEHICLE VIBRATION AND/OR WHEEL SEPARATION, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) received a petition on December 22, 2025, requesting a defect investigation into the hydraulic control unit (HCU) for the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) on the MY 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the ABS warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that an independent mechanic replaced the ABS sensors; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 5-10 MPH, the brake pedal went to the floorboard while depressing the brake pedal, causing the stopping distance to be significantly extended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with ABS pump failure, which resulted in the rear calipers freezing. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone. The failure mileage was approximately 175,000.

Electronic power steering

My brakes felt mushy for a couple days. Next day br a ke fluid dash light came on. brake fluid was so low couldn't see it. Went to autozone bought brake fluid .dot 3 per internet. We have had multiple issues with the ABS and HCU since we bought this car used a couple years ago. We've replaced the ABS Module and HCU and had Ford reprogram it and are still having issues. The brakes go out fully and I went through a red light. The ABS and Traction control and check brake system lights come on. We've spent a couple thousand dollars trying to fix this issue. The brakes have gone out before this incident as well around 95k miles and intermittently since. If needed, contact for invoices.

The 2010 Ford fusion has 2584 complaints the second highest from 2010 to 2014; mine has been giving me intermittent issues for 3 years now and some times there is no error code and inspection cannot find anything wrong- but for 2010 year their has been none even though those years are the same generation car. Thats not fair stopping at 2011-the 2010 is the same car with the same issue-issue a recall; people are getting these expensive repairs and the issue comes back sometimes!!! Steering wheel will not turn. Tried to reset but that did not work. Mechanic diagnosed it as a power steering rack failure. Steering rack needs to be replaced.

I was rear ended while parked at a stop light, the force of the impact drove me into the vehicle in front of me. During the accident my seatbelt pretensioner failed to work at the same time my sun visor unexpectedly dropped down swung towards me and my head struck the edge of the visor which made a gash in my forehead down in between my eyes, there was blood visibly running down my nose at the scene of the accident. I went to the ER afterwards to seek medical attention. 3 days after the accident i suffered a seizure, i have no prior seizures before this incident. Since the accident i’ve continued to have headaches, signs of short term memory loss, and having trouble finding words sometimes.

My car was rear ended in an accident somebody ran into the back of my car while i was stopped/parked at a stop light.. the impact was so hard that i crashed into another vehicle that was in front of me. I was wearing a seatbelt at the time but somehow still hit my head on the steering wheel and suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury because the seatbelt didn’t secure me and the airbags didn’t deploy.

We were made aware of Recall 11V574000 by our automotive shop, which applies to lugs/nuts/bolts on 2010 Ford Fusions, but only starting with manufacturer dates April 2009. This vehicle is dated February 2009, but we have replaced lugs/nuts/bolts at least 6 times in the past 5 years, clearly having the same problem. It has been an expensive, constantly reoccurring problem.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2010 Ford Fusion. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. While attempting to trade the vehicle, the contact was informed that the odometer had been rolled back, as indicated on the Carfax Report. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 86,785. It was discovered that the mileage was 125,121. The initial Carfax Report had no indication of odometer fraud. The North Carolina Department of Transportation was contacted, and a complaint was filed.

My 2010 Ford Fusion has been having issues with the ABS system/module showing the fault code, Service Advance Track System. After checking the recalls on this issue, I learned that Ford did have a recall for this make/model, recall # 19S54, BUT only from cars out of a certain plant during a certain time. I was told by the local Ford dealer as well as Ford Motor Co. that my vehicle was not included even though a recall was released on the same make, model, and year Fusion. I was told by the local Ford dealership that I was free to make a service appointment for the issue. I feel like this is a known issue that Ford is aware of and is using any means necessary to avoid taking the proper responsibility to service a vehicle under a recall for the exact same issue.

All the sudden, the power steering stopped working as I was backing out of my parking spot at the grocery store. Luckily, I stopped before anything bad happened. I literally couldn't turn the steering wheel at all. I put the car in park, turned it off and turned it back on a couple of times and it started working. This happened maybe 3 or 4 times over maybe 2-4 months or so. It finally happened one day when my husband was with me so he was able to see what I had been talking about. We made it back home and he got online and after doing some research, apparently a LOT of people have had this same problem. Apparently, it's something called the "power steering assist module" which is very expensive. I'm disabled and live on a very limited budget. {not much more than it costs just to buy the part to fix the car}

The brakes went almost completely out- having to push the pedal all the way to the floor. All ABS and braking lights illuminated in the dash. There is limited stopping power. The car has become undriveable, even after replacing the HCU and abs system. The dealership has been unable to reprogram the brakes. This exact issue falls under recall 19s54, but Ford claims my problem does not meet the requirements- despite my vehicle having been assembled at the same facility (Hermosilla) and within the same date range as the recalled vehicles. I have receipts and documents to show all attempts at fixing the issue.

The power steering has failed and the rack and pinion needs replacement. Altho there was a recall they will not honor me to fix Bec they said it was over mileage. Ford claims no recall but my Hydralic:antilock/traction control/electronic limited slip control unit/module. My petal is sinking. Did an ABS bleed and problem continues. Could this part be in my car and I just haven’t got a recall

I am reporting a serious safety defect in my vehicle. While driving, the power steering suddenly failed without any warning, resulting in complete loss of steering control. At the same time, the brake warning light, ABS light, and traction control light illuminated, suggesting possible failure of critical braking and stability systems. This incident placed my safety and the safety of others at immediate risk, as the vehicle could not be steered properly and essential safety features may have been disabled. The problem persists, as the vehicle continues to have no functioning power steering and the warning lights remain on. The defective components are available for inspection, and the issue has been reproduced consistently since the initial failure. Given the severity of this malfunction and the danger it poses, I am requesting that a recall be issued to address this defect.

Unintended acceleration event. Entered vehicle, put my foot on the brake, cranked it, held in that position while seatbelting. Engine had a VERY loud revving sound. Within seconds vehicle moving backwards on its own. Foot still on the brake, had not touched gas pedal, had not touched gear shifter, and was still sitting straight forward with my foot on the brake and confirmed gear shifter in park. The car quickly accelerated backwards faster and brake pedal had no effect on stopping or slowing vehicle. Went approx. 30’ across parking lot and only stopped because we hit truck parked behind us. Quickly turned off engine and removed keys. Shifter still shows Park. Careful driver. No history of accidents. I found there were several thousand reported events of unintended acceleration (Ford vehicles 2002 to 2010). Ford tried to explain many as driver error or floor mat touching the gas pedal. My mat was clipped down, as designed, with no all-weather mat on top of them, and my foot did not leave the brake pedal. AI says revving as described is "classic behavior of failing Electronic Throttle Body on 2010 Fords", "Surging without touching the pedal and known defect are extremely common". Says if "Worn or failing shifter linkage/bushings vibration form high revving could make it slip into Reverse". Ford has a 19S54 recall for AntiLock Brake Systems (not notified), where "A normally closed valve may be stuck open, which may result in extended brake pedal travel". Ford reports on similar

When Applying Brakes the Brake Pedal application of Foot Pressure Travels to the Floor before Slowing the Vehicle. Can the Manufacturer Repair this Safety Problem emmediately ?

So this has happened three times in the span of a year. When applying the brakes the brake pedal it would go to the floor and several dash lights would come on(service advance trac, wrench light, abs light and parking brake light). As this would happen, we would pull off as safely and quickly as possible and shut the car off. But once we start the car again, everything is fine. When this situation happens, there is a very very high possibility of hitting someone. With doing research and talking to a local mechanic. It is doing the exact same thing as the Safety Recall 19S54 Certain 2006-2010 Model Year Fusion/Milan/MKZ/Zephyr Vehicles Equipped with Anti-brakes. HCU failure. But running my VIN it does not show it being recalled but my vehicle is a 2010 Fusion hybrid.

Was driving down parkway when came up on my exit it was hard to make the turn to even go up. The exit ramp the power steering light and the advanced track light and brake system. Light all came on flashing across the message screen one after another. Thank god I was able to get vehicle pulled over to shoulder and had it towed home. Also needs airbags replaced due to recall! I have contacted two local Ford dealers trying to get an appointment. Also messaged one through their website. On the phone calls I was placed on hold until the phone to shut off. Tried to call back and they just said please hold and put me right back on hold and I’ve never received a message back.

On [XXX] when leaving a shopping center parking lot, the brake system suddenly failed. I was able to press hard on the foot brake to stop the vehicle near the middle of the intersection. I pulled over to a parking space and replicated the issue. The car was towed to West 40 Auto Care on 284 Montvue Lane in Frederick, MD. Today, they told me they could not fix the issue. I made an appointment with the Ford Motor Company on 1 Waverly Drive for 9/15. I drove the car home slowly (about 1 mile) with the emergency lights on and going about 10 mph. Pressing hard on the foot brake will slowly stop the car. ABS icon and Service Advance Trac appear on the dashboard. Yesterday, the brake and wrench lights were also on. The footbrake does not go all the way to the floor. This issue is of course dangerous and might have caused an issue if I had to brake suddenly on a busy road at a higher speed. ABS control module valves stuck open and or closed. Leading to no brakes/ brake pressure. Same issue and part that was recalled on 2006-2009.5 models. Issue has been inspected by Ford dealership in Tigard Oregon (Landmark Ford/Lincoln). Part was removed and sent to a 3rd party shop to be rebuilt per Landmark Ford and was unable to do so. There was 2 or 3 dash lights that came on along with no brakes. The issue first happened [XXX]. Dealership told me they had another vehicle in the shop at the same time with the same issue. Luckily the issue presented itself the morning of [XXX] as my wife was attempting to back out of her parking spot. She was able to pull the e-brake before the car got away from her. The power steering has failed. The dashboard showed these two phrases "Service Advancetrac" - yellow "Service power steering now" - red When that happened the first time the dealership was able to fix it under the customer satisfaction program by providing a module software update. But the issue happened again and I believe it is related to the 15V340 recall. I would like that to be investigated.

There is a recall date on this car dating back 2021. I bought this car in 2024. The recall problems was never addressed or fixed. This had created an electrical error in the car, given no airbags, and windows do not roll, nor does it give accurate reads on tire pressure. Unbeknownst of all this, a tire popped nearly cause me to wreck on I-5 early 2024. I have documentation supporting the sale of the car, the replacement of tires, oil changes, repairs & towing incurred all on behalf of this car. I would not have bought it knowing there was a recall that was not addressed. This car is a rebuilt title that has been in accidents.

Car was checked for recall 15S34 and incorrectly determined to not have a problem. This recall deals with the gas tank cracking open. This car will pool gas on the ground under the car. Ford says since this was previously looked at, even if the determination was false, they will not take any action or help with it. Please assist - this is a known problem and should be repaired under the recall.

Hydrologic control and abs unit failed. Ford addressed the issue but did NOT include ever vin that was affected. Almost got into an accident and crashed when my brakes completely failed from a defective part. The problem has been confirmed by a independent service, no warning light or messages. Many other people with this issue that were not covered by the lackluster recall.

The steering wheel locks up. It happens when you make a sharp turn or when you turn on air conditioning a few minutes later steering locks. There has been a recall why wasn’t Ford Fusion included. If it was can I still get if repaired.

I have a 2010 Ford Fusion. Two days ago I was backing out of the parking lot and I had to brake hard to avoid a fast moving car zooming past behind me. After that I noticed the brake was very mushy and I have to press the brake almost to the floor to get the car to stop. I did some research on the internet and found out it was a common problem with Ford fusion between 2006 and 2010 and there is a safety recall 19S54 for the 2006-2010 Ford Fusion. Ford also has an internal Customer Satisfaction program 21N11 that covers the repair of the said issue. However, the recall only covers cars manufactured between February 22, 2006 through July 15, 2009 and my car was manufactured in Dec 2009 and was not included on the recall list. Obviously the problem was not fixed for Ford Fusion manufactured after the 7/15/2009. I have seen many similar complaints on the net and some have indicated that they have filed NHSTA complaints for the same issue. I contacted Ford and see if they will fix the problem with my car as a goodwill gesture even though my car was not on the recall list. They absolutely refused to take responsibility. I think it is a serious, serious safety issue for the driving public and Ford should be told to extend the 19S54 recall cut off date to cover any vehicle that experienced this ABS/HCU braking problem and fix this manufacturing defect.
