Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles. A malfunction in the antilock-brake system (ABS) module may incorrectly illuminate the brake lights and disable the ABS and electronic stability control (ESC). In addition, the vehicle operator may be able to start and shift out of Park without the brake pedal being applied.

Risk. A vehicle that can be started and shifted out of Park without applying the brake pedal can result in a vehicle rollaway. Disabled ABS and ESC systems can reduce vehicle handling and control in certain driving situations. Brake lights that incorrectly illuminate can fail to properly indicate the driver's intention to following traffic. Any of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the integrated pressure transducer and update the ABS module software, as necessary free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 16, 2025. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is 94B. This recall replaces previous recall number 22V-426. Vehicles previously remedied under 22V-426 will need to have the new remedy completed.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles. A malfunction in the antilock-brake system (ABS) module may illuminate the brake lights, and allow the vehicle to start and shift out of Park without the brake pedal being applied.

The remedy includes updated HCU/ABS module software that prevents the HCU/ABS module from falsely reading pressure in the primary circuit. FCA has decided to do a two-Phase Campaign remedy schedule. Phase 1 began November 17, 2022. Phase 2 begin date has not been determined yet. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed July 28, 2020. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2020 Jeep Gladiator and Jeep Cherokee, 2019-2020 Ram 1500 Pickup, Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler, and Jeep Renegade and 2019 Dodge Challenger vehicles equipped with 8.4" or 12" radio displays. A software error can cause the rearview camera image to remain displayed after the vehicle has been shifted out of reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rearview Mirrors."

Risk. The lingering rearview image can distract the driver, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler has notified owners, and dealers will update the radio display software, free of charge. Optionally, owners can choose to remotely update their software via an Over-The-Air (OTA) update available as of May 1, 2020. The recall began April 27, 2020. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is W30-W37.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles. The front differential may have been assembled with pinion gears that are insufficiently hardened, which can lead to the gear teeth wearing down. If both pinion gears have their teeth sufficiently worn off, torque power can not be transferred from the front wheels to the driveline, resulting in loss of power while driving and loss of the PARK function when stationary.

Risk. A sudden loss of power while driving or loss of the transmission PARK function can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front differential, free of charge. The recall began May 21, 2020. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is W22.

I am writing to formally escalate an ongoing and serious safety issue involving my 2019 Dodge Durango R/T, VIN [XXX], which was originally transported from Canada and is now registered in New York, United States. I have experienced repeated incidents involving sudden loss of engine power, multiple dashboard warning lights, and extensive ABS-related fault codes. Despite multiple visits to my local dealership and substantial diagnostic expenses, the underlying issue remains unresolved. My vehicle is now immobilized at my home, and I am being asked to incur additional expenses for further diagnosis and repairs without a clear explanation of the underlying failure or whether it may be related to an outstanding ABS recall. I am requesting a formal safety investigation, a review of my vehicle’s recall eligibility, and a resolution that does not leave me financially responsible for repeatedly diagnosing what may be a known safety-related defect. My air bags didn't deploy once I was in an accident

The driverside headrest has spontaneously deployed, it is due to an internal failure where a plastic retention bracket cracks. It is a known issue for earlier model years, but 2019 has been left out of the warranty extension (2018 is the end of the current coverage period). This is the same headrest design/part that is covered for repair in earlier years, and is an $1,100 replacement. We would like this repair to be considered for the warranty coverage as it is the same issue being acknowleged and addressed for earlier model years.

The vehicle fails to start reliably. I have made all the necessary repairs in an attempt to have the car to start reliably. I have replaced items that the average owner would think are normal wear-and-tear items around the starting system. I have also replaced items that the average owner would not think would wear out and need replacing. All of this work was done out of pocket. A warranty or recall covered none of the work. Yet the car still does not start reliably. I believe this is a safety issue because it could lead to the vehicle losing power on the road and leaving occupants stranded. This is not a normal issue. This must be a manufacturer's issue. Producing and selling a vehicle that has known electrical and fueling problems. Also, Dodge, the manufacture clames the ZF 850RE-based 8-speed automatic has fluid for the life of the vehicle. Dodge claims that the transmission fluid in this transmission does not need to be changed and/or serviced. More information about this ZF 850RE-based 8-speed automatic transmission claim by Dodge would be helpful.

The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while the vehicle was turned off, the vehicle independently started, and the contact was alerted by the audible sound coming from the horn. The contact exited the residence and became aware that the windshield wipers and interior and exterior lights were flashing. The contact stated that the key fob was used to lock and unlock the vehicle, but the horn and wiper blades continued to activate. The contact opened the hood and disabled the horn fuse, which turned off the horn. The contact’s wife was able to start the vehicle after 30 minutes. The exterior lights turned off, but the interior lights remained illuminated. The vehicle was left to run, and after several minutes, the wiper blades stopped. The contact disconnected the battery for all the functions to stop. The battery was reconnected, and the vehicle failed to start. The contact stated that after three attempts, the vehicle failed to start; however, the interior lights failed to turn off. The battery was disconnected and reconnected, and the vehicle started without further issues. The contact stated that several messages were displayed, including the engine and electronic stability control warnings. The engine warning light turned off, but the electronic stability control warning light remained illuminated. The contact had not driven the vehicle since the failure occurred. The driver and passenger front seat seat belts do not retract. They hang loose when on and if the windows are open will even loosen up more when wind catches them. This is an extreme safety concern if an accident were to happen the seat belt would not hold us in place.

Headrest Explosion in my driveway parked. Its confirmed by my dealer and its in their possession while I have a rental. No accident had occurred and dealer inspected and no accident had been detected. No indication that this would have happened previously. Im in fear of my safety and have 2 special needs children that rides in my vehicle regularly. The dealership is wanting for me the client to pay $1500 and refuse to comply with "good faith". My agent stated they would try to do on "goodfaith" but days later stated I have to pay regardless of the company malfunction. This could've happened while driving with me or my children. Im just glad that it happened while parked. It was stated to me if this doesnt get done or rather replaced this can be a safety issue. Please if you may share my formal complaint with Dodge or whomever. I have filed a formal complaint as well with Dodge and it has been escalated to case management with a case #.

The rear taligate track light for brakes is not working. Some of the lights are out when braking

My vehicle has had a recall since November 2024 For the HCU/ABS module that falsely reads pressure in the primary circuit may illuminate the brake lights (up to 4.5 mph), disable the ABS and Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and allow the vehicle to start and shift out of park without the brake pedal being depressed. Well back in November 2025 i had to pay for towing twice and have it in service because the ABS Stop and Start module went out and i had to repalce the battery out of pocket and then not even 7 months to the date i went out and tried to get in my durango and it wouldnt start so i replace the battery and the ABS light came back on and the vehcle shut down and i couldnt get it started back.

My 2019 Dodge Durango R/T began experiencing drivetrain and warning system issues after collision/body repairs were completed by a repair facility. The original repair work involved suspension/body-related repairs and did not originally include documented transfer case or internal drivetrain damage. At the time I picked the vehicle up from the repair facility, the tire pressure monitoring system warning light was already illuminated. I notified the repair facility and was told to drive the vehicle for approximately 10 minutes and the warning would clear itself. I have video documentation related to this interaction. After the repairs, additional problems began appearing including: * Service AWD warning * Traction control warning indicators * Ongoing drivetrain concerns * Diagnosis involving transfer case/internal damage and burnt fluid The vehicle was later reported to have transfer case clutch failure and internal drivetrain-related issues despite the original repair scope not documenting drivetrain damage. My concern is that the post-repair warnings and drivetrain symptoms may indicate improper inspection, repair, reassembly, fluid servicing, calibration, or unresolved damage related to the repair process. The vehicle has been inspected by the repair facility and diagnostic information was later provided identifying drivetrain/transfer case issues.

The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for a recall repair for NHTSA Campaign Number 24V838000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); according to the contact, the vehicle was partially repaired but was being charged for the hydraulic control unit which the contact believes is part of the recall repair; however the dealer stated it was separate from the recall but needed to be replaced due to a failure. The contact stated that according to the dealer the malfunctioning piece for the ABS and ESC were replaced. The contact believes that the parts were only cleaned out and not replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.

At 37008 miles my coolant started to leak and it overheated, when taking to a mechanic they replaced the coolant and tubes and advised that it was rubbing on the hose, so they replaced the hoses and put in new coolant fluid and said it was all addressed, not even a week later, it started to overheat again even though it has all new hoses and they wrapped the hoses so it doesn't wear and cause the leak again and it still happened.

At 30,000 had one blown head gasket and a few thousand miles later another blown head gasket. Regular maintenance and oil changes have been done and maintenance. Then last year my cam Shalf had to be replaced and now again a head gasket again. Several cylinders are missing firing. When I took in and they replaced the cam Shalf, I took it saw it said cylinder 5 was missing firing , now it’s showing cylinder 3 with all my lights on my dash on again and the car has 110,000 miles on it.

I had a safety recall for the ABS brake module which was taken in. I was told twice one time the part they did not know when it would arrive. I kept calling. It was very hard to get a hold of the dealership Chrysler Dodge ram country and Fort Stockton, Texas. Called again last Friday conveniently. The part had been incorrectly ordered and that day it was available. They were going to have a tech repair it that day. I told them to give me a call because I would be working out of town. They did not call but they took my vehicle to my employer and left it there and left the keys with the coworker. Call them back on Monday because now I had the auto start light on and still the traction light on. Explain to them that if it could have been part of the ABS module they had supposedly replaced. They tried to convince me that it did not. So needless to say I had to replace a vacuum pump which is in the process but as the gentleman that was going to repair that took a look at the ABS module which was old. No signs of anything being new or even any of the components being removed. No signs of it being touched. I googled the part number on the abs module which came up as a recall item. So the original part was still in my vehicle which was the original part that had a recall. The item was never replaced as they had told me which could have led to a major hazard or possibly even death of myself, family, or even another vehicle causing an accident. Brakes pump when used; vehicle stalls when shifting into higher gears.

First, very hard time trying to file a complaint with Dodge, they make it hard to find info. To make it short, I have a Dodge Durango RT, only 83,000 miles. The vehicle would not start, and was smoking out the back. Was hoping it was something simple brought it to my mechanic. Turns out there was an oil leak, manifold leak and the starter died. I had to tow my car. Called the Dodge company, and they flat out said they could NOT HELP me and would not do an escalation because I didn't bring it to a Dodge Dealer but "who knew" I would have all these problems, thought it could be something simple and $2200 later. They were so rude, unhelpful and just horrible service. Keep repeating they would not help me or even have a conversation? The sad part is I really love this vehicle. There needs to be an investigation to see if other customers are having these problems because then it's a manufacturing issue. I know they are a huge company and I just a person to them. But I need to know if this is an ongoing problem??? This is not the normal failure on a vehicle, again maybe this was a factory engine problem while being built.

Took vehicle in for cooling issues, leaking coolant. Garage did courtesy inspection and determined oil cooler failure had caused catastrophic damage to the engine, requiring replacement. Mechanic informed me this particular shop deals with this issue 3-5 times every week, with about one per month requiring full engine replacement. The engine is the 3.6L V6 Pentastar, which is standard in Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Plymouth vehicles and this is a defect known to the manufacturer. My mechanic informed me that both Dodge and the current manufacturer of the engine had tried and failed to correct the problem, because it is an actual design flaw. Caused in part, by the oil cooler being constructed of plastic and mounted at the top of the engine, it is subject to heat and warping which causes the failure. . Mechanic said this is typical around 100k miles. My Durango has 108k, 6k out of the warranty I bought for $4,500 at the dealership, just shy of 3 years ago. This is a known defect. Why is there no recall or remedy for a consumer now facing a $17,000 engine replacement on a $30,000 used vehicle? Dodge knows this is a problem, what is a consumer’s recourse for trusting they make quality vehicles when this presents a major safety issues to anyone with the 3.6L? My dealership never notified me of this issue, nor did the manufacturer. At least a heads up to change to an aftermarket metal oil cooler, to avoid catastrophic loss? This is wrong.

Oil cooler failure .I am concerned because my mechanic says this is a common problem with this type of motor. Why isn't it recall.

The rear race track light and license plate lights failed to work due to a faulty gasket or seal on the light. Faulty in the manufacturing process and now to repair this issue is $1500 or more. The vehicle can not be inspected and used do to the lights not working.

Last year I notice water in my tail lights. I removed the bolt to help drain the water. Part of my tail lights is now burned out. Now at 77,000+ my start/stop light came on, then the check engine. Scan code was P0304. Misfire on cylinder 4. I changed ignition coil 4, set of spark plugs. It was still misfiring on 4. I had spark plugs on 4 changed. This still did not fix it. The person who changed the spark plugs let me know my lifter/cam was bad. I scheduled with Dodge and they diagnosed it with a blown head gasket. The service rep said the blown head gasket was my fault, however after asking the mechanic said there was no code for over heating or any of that, just the misfire.

We were notified of a recall in Nov 2024 with a first quarter of 2025 fix. We are now 1 year later and still no fix, clearly a safety issue and I cannot trade in or sell legally without the fix. I am stuck with a vehicle with known safety issues and Chrysler is being allowed to just ignore it.

Twice this year this has happened. I was driving to work when suddenly the lights on the dash came on and the car started over heating. There was a ton of engine coolant under the car. Took the car to get repaired. They said the coolant lines rub against something under the car and caused a hole. They said it was a defect in the way the car is designed and there is nothing to hold up the coolant lines running to the rear of the vehicle. They told us we needed to contact dodge and file a claim. We did and heard nothing back from them. Fast forward 6 months and it happens again. Car is currently at a dodge dealership. Same issue. Filed another complaint and claim with them. Its been 3 weeks. 0 response. Car is still at the dealership.

I was driving my vehicle and the engine light came on and the car started overheating. I had to immediately pull over. There was fluid underneath my Vehicle again. This occurred twice in 6 months. The engine coolant lines have a whole in them. This is the 2nd repair for the same issue in 6 months. The Vehicle has been sitting for over 3 weeks at dodge. They have not answered or responded to our claims. The Vehicle poses a safety risk as it instantly overheats and you lose power. The coolant lines under the Vehicle are not secured at all and rub against other parts under the vehicle.

Electronic power steering locks the wheel while turning. Have to use excessive force to get it out of the stuck position. I have went through several forums trying to figure out why this happens there are many other customers experiencing the same problem. There is no power steering pump to replace so this could be an absolute danger to anyone driving a Durango with this problem or others around them.

3 Years of a recall with no remedy by the manufacturer. Repeated inquiries with the same answer. Electronic Stability Control, Cruise Control, and Keyless Entry all disabled. Check Engine Light on continuously. Brake lights stay on for extended periods of time.

Water is entering the rear tail light assembly and dimming the tail light. The OEM seal has failed. I took this problem to my Dodge dealer, and they informed me that even with a Mopar extended warranty, they will not replace the tail light assembly because it is considered a "Bulb". That's a $2000.00 blub!

The State Attorney General was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The manufacturer was contacted, but the call disconnected. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.

Water gets inside the rear tail light and the lights burn out the same with the side rear lights

The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shut off without warning. The vehicle was restarted; however, occasionally the vehicle was slow to restart or failed to restart. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V813000 (Electrical System). The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined the TIPM had caused the failure. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed on the highway, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to pull over safely, and two hours later after several attempts, the vehicle restarted. The contact thought the failure was related to the fuel and added to the vehicle. There was half a tank of fuel in the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

Water collects in the racing tail light which leads to electrical issues or some parts or all of the light going out.

The rear marker lights which are LED have shorted and are now inoperative. So at night I no longer have any rear running lights. Also the license plate lights are out. Dealer charged me $254.00 to diagnose the failed complaint and and found that the rear racetrack light and passenger rear corner light needs replaced. The estimate of repair is $254.00 for diagnosis and $2746.26 for rear race track light and pas rear corner light assembly. The dealer who is familiar with problem contacted Fiat Chrysler Automobiles with reference #931238452 looking for customer assistance with repair and dealer was told that Chrysler customer assistance would only contribute $712.85 with tax and no assistance for the $254.00 diagnosis fee. SO total out of my pocket would be $2447.08. I have read that a class action suit is underway do to the enormous amount of failures on 2017-2025 vehicles.

The rear light bar (race track bar) does not illuminate. Seems to be a common issue among Durango's. My rear light visibility is low now due to it being out for night driving. It also failed the two license plate lights to work which is required by MN Statute (law). I could be pulled over and issued a citation due to the issue.

The rear LED tail light assembly does not function. There appears to be moisture causing the LED lights to not function. Vehicle was recently serviced and was quoted $1800 for repairing the assembly. I'm concerned from a safety perspective as the tail lights will not be visible when driving at night. In addition, I see a lot of Dodge Durangos on the road where the rear tail light assembly has dimming or missing lighting, which leads me to believe there may be a design flaw.

I was driving home and felt steering wheel shake while on curved road, brakes felt like they wanted to lock up, then everything on dash lighted up looked like a shortage. My foot was still on the gas pedal then car just slowed down by itself. I had to steer vehicle to side of road. I did not panic, I was fearful something could’ve happened if I would’ve had other vehicles behind or even oncoming traffic. My vehicle is available for inspections upon request. Took my vehicle to a dodge dealership for inspection and I was advised of a recall on my vehicle. Unfortunately, I was advised by the dodge dealership that no remedy was yet available for my vehicle. I also contacted the manufacturer and they advised me the same as dealership, maybe during the first quarter of 2025 there could be a remedy. The manufacturer stated they would prioritize my case but no specific date could be given. I was given an option for a rental and due to my circumstances I would not be able to afford a rental. (I have to continue payments on my loan & vehicle insurance.) I purchased the vehicle from Dyer Chevrolet Vero Beach, I did reach out (on 3/31/2025) and asked them why was vehicle sold if there was a stop sale. Salesperson “ Cameron Andrews” stated “stop sale was not in effect at time of purchase [XXX] and it came out after the fact”. The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Durango. The contact stated while driving at 70 MPH, the rear spoiler detached from the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact merged to the side of the road as the third brake light wire started hitting the rear glass window. The contact opened the gate, placed the wire back in the gate, and kept driving. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where the contact was informed that a new spoiler was needed. The vehicle was not repaired for the most recent failure. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

I recently ran into the issue with "Water Infilitration" in my RaceTrack strip on my Durango. I checked into it and it seems like there are thousands with this exact same issue and it is a manufacturing issue with the seals or gaskets. I've o my had my vehicle for four years and the whole racetrack LED strip needs replaced and costs thousands of dollars. There is no active recall but this seems to be a wide issueand concern among many Durango owners. I feel as this should be replaced at the manufactures expense due to faulty equipment. The tail lights work but the main LEDS in the lighting is out and also the license plate light that is controlled by the same lighting is out as well. This is not only my concern but a HUGe safety risk and financial burden for owners and operators of the vehicle. I'm taking it to be inspected at the dealership tomorrow and if legal action needs to be taken so be it. I've also documents pictures and a video from literal stand still water within the component of my racetrack lights.

Started receiving an auto start error message on the dash. Then after long drives vehicle would not start up without a jump. Went to test battery and it failed while connected to vehicle. I bought a new battery, I installed it, and then tested it and failed the test. I then checked the old battery (not connected) and it past. Which means there a parasitic battery drain. I then changed the engine off and the headlight delay settings to 0, and tested the connected battery and it passed. So the delay settings for the engine off and headlight delay is causing a parasitic battery drain in the 2019 dodge durango.

The whole center section of lighting, located on the tailgate (liftgate) is burned out, including the license plate illumination. Apparently water gets into the "racetrack light" which I learned is what Dodge calls this center section of lighting. I have noticed there is a significant amount of water inside this section of lighting, and now it intermittently does not work. More times than not, it is completely out. As I did some research about this issue, I found that it is common for all of the 2014- 2024 Durangos.

The rear race track light assembly lights went out. I know there is a known issue with this light assembly.

On the morning of 10/09/2024, I started my 2019 Dodge Durango and exited the vehicle, after 2 minutes the entire interior of the vehicle was engulfed in flames. The drivers side seat warmer appears to have malfunctioned causing the vehicle to set of fire, including glass break, paint peeling and interior burning

Backup camera stayed on when car was in Drive, Park, and Neutral. Backup camera also stayed on after I turned vehicle off and opened door. The infotainment system usually turns off once car is parked off and door has been opened. This was very distracting when driving down the road. The rear tail light assembly that is mounted on the tailgate (it is often referred to as a "racetrack" light) filled with water and quit working while the vehicle was under warranty. It apparently fails due to a defective seal between the lens and the housing. The light assembly was replaced under warranty and lasted approximately 1 year before leaking and filling with water again. This time it was not covered by warranty. I drained the water, but one of the license plate lights no longer illuminates. It is impossible to change just a bulb. To repair this light requires replacement of the entire assembly at a cost of approximately $2,000. Driving the vehicle with an unilluminated license plate subjects me to being stopped by law enforcement and issued a citation. This is not an isolated incident as I see countless Dodge Durangos, including many that are used by law enforcement, with the same problem.

I was driving down the freeway going about 70 on a trip with my 2 small kids. We were about 2.5 hours from home when the check engine light came on and was orange. Within minutes, while I was safely trying to get off of the freeway, it turned red and was blinking. I had to slow down to under 40 to get it to go back to orange while I tried to find a place to pull over and figure out what to do, creating a dangerous situation for myself and other drivers. The car only had 40,000 miles, is regularly serviced, and there were no previous issues with any of the warning lights. Took to the first repair shop and they said it was likely the coolant pipes and they have seen it in Durangos because of the way the car is assembled. They recommended that I bring it to the dealership because they didn't want to void my warranty. Dealership confirmed it was "large leak coming from back of engine. upon further inspection leak is coming from rear heater coolant pipes. replaced coolant pipes and found coolant leaks from rear heater hoses. replaced rear heater hoses" The issue with the heater hoses having to be replaced is that the car is assembled so that it has to be completely lifted and split in 2 to be able to do the work. Because of the position of the hoses, there are parts of the frame of the car that rub against those hoses and pipes creating damage and leaks, and there is no easy way to repair the damage that is caused by manufacturer positioning.
