The car has no accidents but the air bag light and start/stop unavailable light turned on
Center tail light has completely failed. it is still broken at the time of reporting. a majority of the rear lighting no longer works. I have not taken it to a dealership, but it is clearly not working. there is significant water build up in the tail light which is apparently a known issue. no inspection has been done. no warnings or messages. Water has been in the tail light for about 3 months. Lamp stopped illuminating 4/1/2024
Leaking coolant lines above transmission.
When pumping fuel at gas station pump shuts off . Will not accept gas.
I have moisture inside my right rear tail light assemble located on my lift gate. About 1/3 of the LED's do not light up currently. I have been to the dealership and contacted chrysler customer care. I have spent about an hour total on 2 phone calls to only be told there is nothing they can do about it.This is clearly a manufacturing defect and a common problem with Dodge Durango's, bcause I see too many with the same problem that I have and its always the center of the lift gate and the right side tail light. See attached photos fof conditiuon.
The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while the vehicle was turned on, whether parked or driving at various speeds, on several occasions, the brake lights remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the ABS sensor control and Hydraulic Control Unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 21,000.
I had a car accident on 1/29/24 .Regarding to my car damages . Airbags did not deploy during the accident.I believe my speed was 29-35 mph typically airbags deploy when the crash is the equivalent of an impact into a rigid wall at 10-12 mph.is anything we can do here please? Wasn’t my fault another car moved on the red light during intersection and mine was green and hit my car . I went to ER & i did a MRI and my doctor said I have serious issues with my back & neck now & I’ll need several surgeries , Thanks and have a great day!
Both rear license plate lights are out as well as racetrack taillight on hatch has water in it. This is a known defect that is all over the web. I am going to engage dealer but car is 5 years old now. Really should be recalled as it is a danger and a super expensive repair as the entire raceway has to be replaced.
The race track lighting on the vehicle which is the back lights has a factory defect and fills with water from rain and shorts out. Now my lights do not work and can also cause my brake lights and other lights to fail or cause an electrical fire. God forbid. This is a known problem but dodge has not made it a recall yet and should. The part is 1200 without installation.
When my family and I were making an hour long drive to a hotel for the weekend, the check engine light came on briefly, and went off. On the way home, it came on once more and vehicle lost power and i thought it was going to stall but then it was fine. I thought it was from the cold weather but a few days later, the light came on and stayed on. I got P0001 & P000A codes on a reader. It's unsafe in frigid temps to have the risk of vehicle stalling because of this issue & this isn't the 1st computer/sensor/electrical issue I've had with it since I bought it certified new. I think there are multiple computer issues with this model year and just want to make others aware. There is also a recall with the brake system in this vehicle.
My LED lighting on the lift-gate started to spot out and had condensation in the light do to the seal not being properly sealed and letting water get into the light and burning out the LED bulbs. Now my whole running lift-gate LED is out and this is very harmful for myself and other drivers on the road do to possibly being rear ended at anytime. This problem is not covered under warranty. This is unacceptable for a LED lighting system allowing water in the system to burn out the LED lighting system. Every time it rains/snows, car wash water should not be getting into the light.
The car seat base was not secure to the seat after installing. We installed the car seat rear facing to bring home our expecting newborn and noticed how much the base moved around not only side to side but up and down. I did reach out to the company Maxi Cosi and they stated that the movement was perfectly normal. Even after the video of the base moving. We returned the car seat to Walmart and showed them the video of the base and Maxi Cosi’s response. Walmart approved the return and placed the car seat in damaged goods so that another expecting parent didn’t buy it.
I have moisture and water leaking into my racetrack light bar on my back lift gate I only have 28,000 miles on it I believe there should be a recall on this issue
The whole rear "racetrack" LED light on the lift gate fills with water and goes out. This is a VERY common and known problem by dodge/Mopar and they will not do anything to fix it. It is a $2000 out of pocket fix and that is asinine! It significantly reduces visibility from the rear of the vehicle while traveling at night.
I HAVE A 2019 DODGE DURANGO Which has a faulty brake light that stays on. after doing some extensive research there was a recall on the durango. (Recall 21A, NHTSA 23E-019) This recall is for defective Hydraulic Control Unit. Now the recall letter issues a suspected range on the units based on the Julian date of Manufacturing. for this recall is numbers 8166-9106. my unit is8355. The dealerships and Dodge have been making it difficult for me to have replaced because my VIN is not listed for this recall, but its clear it should based on the recall letter that provides the exact range of faulty units that mine falls inline with. I have attached some pics of the recall letter and of my hydraulic unit. any help will be appreciated
Water continually builds up in the middle part of the tail lights. This is now making the lights in my tail lights go out. These are lights that can't be replaced without replacing the entire piece. I see this often on Dodge Durangos of my model and it's definitely an issue. I still cannot find out how water is getting in and it will continue to make more of my taillight go out.
Goodyear examined my Durango on October 4th 2023. Examination results reported a flawed electromechanical steering gearbox. Price to repair including parts, upwards of 4,000 dollars. I have a prepaid warranty covering repairs and parts. Parts availability from the Chrysler corporation are the issue. The dealership Orange Park Chrysler Jeep Dodge was informed AND examined the vehicle themselves. They related to me the "part isn't available". I returned to the Goodyear dealership. Their response is the same. Neither factory nor aftermarket steering gearbox are available for purchase. Therein lies the reason for this report from me. I've written emails to Chrysler (stellantis) customer service 3 times. The 3rd time being today October 16th. They responded once shortly after the October 4th email. Since then quiet as a church mouse. So far the steering gearbox just pops and makes grinding noises. I'm 67 years old and existing on disability payments. I can't get the parts. I still owe 32,000 plus (9650 for warranty coverage). So I CAN'T get rid of it. If it fails while being driven, State Farm won't cover the damages because I KNEW the vehicle was needing repairs and continued to drive it. I'm FORCED to drive it because of parts UNAVAILABLE by Chrysler or the aftermarket. I can't afford a rental car for what appears to be an EXTENDED period of time. I can't attach the 3 emails here. However the emails WILL be retained for future reference. Any assistance you may provide would be g
Cooling system hose blew from a faulty clamp rubbing a hole in it. There’s a TON of reports of this same problem with the same model/year. All antifreeze leaked out and overheated engine.
The vent tube leading to the transmission came disconnected and sucked up water into my transmission. Leading to the transmission to not have any power. My son and I were in the the car trying to go up the hill when it lost power and started rolling backwards down the hill into traffic with the gas pedal to the floor. The mechanic at dodge said he has no idea how the vent tube was able to suck up that much water into the transmission. There was no lights that came on about the vent tube until it was too late and even then the check engine light would go on and off every time the car was turned off. The car is un drivable and currently at JT Dodge land in Columbia SC. I have notified my Insurance to see if this is something that would be covered l.
Water intrusion through tail lamp assembly causes water to pool in tail lamps and burn out rear lights, back up camera, and possible fire if not repaired. There are forums on the web dedicated to this problem.
Vehicle was parked, orange red fluid was seen leaking from the vehicle in a large puddle. Dealership mechanic that found the failure as a factory install clamp that was placed too close to 2 rear coolant lines tube causing a hole in each line almost emptying the coolant all over the ground.
While driving 70 mph on the highway, the car gave a light that stated, "power steering unavailable" and in fact, I had no power steering. I had to really muscle the car to get it to turn at all. If this had happened while I was turning a corner, it could have been the cause of an accident. Obviously driving a car with no power steering is dangerous in and of itself, not to mention it happening out of the blue while driving at highway speeds. There was no prior warning to the light coming on. This is a car with just over 40k miles on it and is a used Dodge certified car. We had to wait several weeks for an appointment at our local Dodge dealership at which time they confirmed the steering rack is defective. The part was at least 60 days out, indicating to me that this is an issue with other vehicles as well. Fast forward to last week and we were informed the part was in and we could have the car back by the end of this week. However, yesterday (5/10/2023) we received a call that the part that was delivered to the dealership was also defective. They got the part installed, but could not get the computer to recognize it. Currently we do not have a timeline on when a new, hopefully not defective, part will be delivered. We are lucky because we have MOPAR care on the vehicle and it will cover the cost of the repair and they will reimburse us for the use of the rental car, although the rental car is inadequate compared to the car that I purchased.
The contact’s fiancé owns a 2019 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while his fiancé was driving at an undisclosed speed, the Adaptive Cruise Control was set to an undisclosed speed; the contact’s fiancé, depressed the brake pedal however, the cruise control remained active. The contact then stated that his fiancé had to apply added pressure to the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed by the dealer that an unknown recall repair was recently performed on the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 64,300.
I took my car into Fairfield Dodge (Fairfield Texas). I have taken my car in about 3 times already. The first two was to do test on it. I can be driving my car and smell Gas as if I stepped in it. the smell makes me sick. I can park my car and the smell is just ask bad on the outside as it is in the inside. the car dealership said oh we have found the problem. They had my car for 1mth and 2 days and changed the fuel take and canaster, oh that is it. They said it is fixed " WRONG. " I smell the same smell, and just as strong as I did when I took it in. So, I called, and they told me oh well we can set you up to bring it in so we can check it out. They DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. I only have like 57,000 miles on my car and if this is a ongoing thing I think these falls under a LEMON LAW, I bought this car new. This is very dangerous I would like to get answers on my car and not have to leave it for a month or so just to have the same thing happen again and again. It is so bad if someone was to throw a cigarette down in the parkin lot it might caught on fire. I hope I can get answers before taking it in and getting no answers. I took my car in to have the 2nd row passenger seat belt buckle repaired last year 2022 and again this year the a seat belt buckle has to be replace. The car has only 32,700 mile and I am told by the dealership that the motor mounts are leaking and need to be replaced.
The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, an unknown fluid was seen leaking from the vehicle and running down the driveway. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic that found the failure as a factory install clamp that was placed too close to a tube causing a hole. The vehicle was not repaired as the vehicle was awaiting a tow to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised that the vehicle be taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis. The failure mileage was 62,180.
The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that water entered the taillight assemblies, causing the taillights to become inoperable. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
I bought this vehicle in Sept 2019 drove off the lot with it brand new and the headlights and whole dash lights went out when I hit a bump. For the next two years, the car kept having electrical problems when it rained or the vehicle was washed but the Virginia dealership could never duplicate the problem. I moved to Indiana where these problems continued. Finally, an Indianapolis dealer discovered my antenna gasket was bad and water had been leaking in from it running to the dash causing all the electrical issues. This was found in 2021. Dodge has recently bought my vehicle back as a lemon but in the paperwork only said it had radio problems. This is not true. It had much more and I'm guessing all the vehicles made with mine may also have a bad/faulty antenna gasket I doubt Dodge did a recall on.
Coolant leak, due to water pump failure , has 61000 miles There are other older models that already have extended warranties for same issues This should apply to newer models as this issue persists
The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Durango. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, he accidentally touched the gear shifter which shifted the vehicle into neutral(N). Once the contact noticed the failure, he shifted the vehicle back into drive(D) without applying the brake pedal. The contact then received a notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V426000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulics) which he linked to the failure. The contact called the dealer and made an appointment; however, the contact was informed upon arrival that the notification was sent by accident and that the VIN was not under recall. 2019 dodge Durango R/T Gasket fails and allows water to get into track light and left and right rear corner light.. Dodge knows about the issues across many years but does not issue a recall or own liability to the problem which leaves customer footing the bill
2019 Dodge Durango Rear Center Liftgate Tail Light Assembly Lift Gate Back Up Light Lamp OEM#68453659AA. Water pools into the rear lights from poor gaskets and has caused my rear lights to go on and off, LED light has burned out due to the water pooling into the electrics. I have seen 100's of reports on the internet on this issue and don't understand why no recall is in place. I believe this is a severe risk to other drivers and myself, especially when driving at night, fog, or rain. I have almost been rear ended a few times and also pulled over by the police multiple times on the issue.
Water is entering my tail light without a crack or hole anywhere.
The interior door handle (driver side) has some kind of plastic coating on which began to peel back from the handle. It was very sharp and cut my hand.
Racetrack lighting seems to be defective and water has entered and lighting has stopped working and has become a problem driving without it.
When attempting to start and the push button is pressed, the vehicle stutters for up to 5 seconds before turning over. This is happening intermittently, but will always turn over. Vehicle has been taken to the dealership on 2 occasions (10/28/22 @ 56.5K miles and 12/09/22 @ 56.7K miles) where they were able to duplicate the start crank issue, but there isn't a code appearing to provide an area to troubleshoot. It was also communicated that the service technician researched several service bulletins and was not able to find any information on the happenings. Because there isnt a "failure" we have been told that the vehicle needs to fail in order to have this fixed. We have less than 58K miles on this vehicle. This has been happening since September 2022
From my understanding, I went to several different mechanics who all said the same thing. 2019 and maybe older years, the way the truck was made, the coolant hose runs all the way from the resovoir to the back of the truck which is causing a metal pipe and the coolant hose to touch and when the metal pipe gets hot, it’s eating at the hose cause a significant leakage under the truck. And the hose is behind the vent under the truck which means pieces would need to get removed from the truck in order to get to the hose.

Upon making slow turn I experiance a rapid unintended acceleration. Engine raced to about 4000 RPM. In order to get vehicle under control brakes were applied to maximum and vehicle was shifted into neutral which caused engine to throttle higher but driver was able to turn off vehicle and safely come to a stop. After restarting vehicle throttle reurned to normal functioning. I was lucky there were no other vehicles around or a wreck would have happened. I do not know if this related to recall 22V426000. `Dodge dealeership advised that there currenlly is no fix for this recall. If this incident is related to the recall Dodge needs to find a fix ASAP.+

Purchased my used 2019 Durango at the end of June 2022. Everything was fine, then after a month and a half the vehicle starts to act up. Had the "Service Electronic Stability Control" warning come on several times. "Stop/Start Unavailable, Service System" warning come on four or five times. Then, sitting at a stop light, the engine shut down and wouldn't turn on and a warning saying my "Hood Is Open" popped up. Put vehicle in Park. Tried again, same warning, third time was a charm it finally started. Took it to dealer, they say after a 'recall' fix is sent out, some of these problems (they say are related) will go away. Meanwhile, I'm paying for a vehicle that sits in my driveway while I drive one of my other vehicles. I can't drive a vehicle that may suddenly 'shut down' with my family in it. Vehicle only has 17, 900 miles on it too.
Rear taillight assembly gets filled with water over time. LED lights fail as water rises. Some drivers report it causes the rear view camera to short out but I have not experienced this. Yet.
The service shifter light comes on, the windshield wipers come on by themselves, the cruise control wont work when the message is on. This happens on ALOT of Chrysler vehicles!! The Durango wont shift into drive when the message is on. It also happens when the durango is being driven. The message appears everytime I turn my durango on.
My car has 7000 miles on it and the brake light is stuck on thanks to a faulty reading in the ABS system. This also causes the car to think someone is in the car because the brake pedal is being pressed. It is illegal to operate a car without the brake lights working properly not to mention unsafe. My car has been setting in the driveway for over 3 months and Chrysler is in no hurry to repair it. The ABS module part has a superseded part number so they obviously have addressed the faulty part. I paid a lot for a car that has become a driveway accessory. How long can they drag their feet? They are losing repeat customers.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
