Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Dodge Durango vehicles. The rear spoiler may not be aligned properly with the roof, possibly resulting in damage to the spoiler during liftgate use.

Risk. A damaged rear spoiler may detach and create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and replace or repair the spoiler and align the liftgate as necessary, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed September 10, 2026. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 61D. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov on August 20, 2026. Vehicles in this recall were previously recalled under 21V842 or 23V115. Vehicles repaired under the prior recalls will need the new repair completed.

The radio software may prevent the rearview image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk. A rearview camera image that does not display decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will update the radio software or the software will be OTA, "Over-The-Air," free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning July 9, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's numbers for this recall are 66B and 79B.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022 Dodge Durango and Ram 2500 and 3500 vehicles. Due to a software malfunction, the ABS control module may disable the electronic stability control system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems."

Risk. Driving with a disabled electronic stability control system can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will update the ABS control module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning July 11, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 55B.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022 Dodge Charger and Durango vehicles. The shifter assembly was not properly heat-treated, which can prevent the shifter from properly engaging in the "drive" position.

Risk. An improperly engaged shifter assembly may slip out of the "drive" position, resulting in a sudden loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the shifter assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 17, 2023. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall ZB3.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Dodge Durango and 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. The steering gear rack bar may have been insufficiently hardened during manufacturing, possibly allowing it to bind within the steering rack, and resulting in difficulty steering or a loss of steering control.

Risk. Difficulty steering, or a loss of steering control, can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the steering gear assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 12, 2022. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-852-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is Z18.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019-2022 Ram 2500 and 2021-2022 Dodge Durango vehicles, and 2019-2022 3500 cab chassis with GVWR less than 10,000 lbs. The ABS control module software may prevent the electronic stability control (ESC) malfunction indicator light from illuminating during certain conditions. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems."

Risk. An ESC malfunction indicator light that fails to illuminate during an electronic stability control problem can increase the risk of a crash.

I had my radio recall done on my car. However, I had to have my radio replaced under warranty after the software recalls were applied on my old radio. The new radio never had the software recalls installed. I took my radio into the dealer to have my radio updated with the recalls. I had been having intermittent issues with the backup camera not working at times which was one of the recalls my radio did not have installed. The radio is up to date now but I am bearing financial responsibility. I've been in contact with Chrysler over the phone and eventually over email where they are saying they are denying my recall reimbursement because they are considering it a warranty issue and not a recall issue. Reimbursement amount I am seeking is $891.17 that I was charged by the dealer. I have the receipt if needed. The dealer told me there was nothing on their end of things they could do.

The contact owns a 2022 Dodge Durango. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V528000 (STRUCTURE); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Daytime driving lights on drivers side went out and passenger is still on that is the lights yhat run in the daytime and when I took it to the dealership I was told they was aware of the situation but they said they was not responsible for it, but it also comes on at night with my head lights, and my local police said to me if the light is on the vehicle it must work, so this shoukd be considered a safety issue the drl can't just be replaced the whole headlight assembly has to be chaged which is 1000.00 why should all the people be reasonable for replacement of a design flaw and also us being responable a safety situation by state and federal guidelines.

My 22 Durango r/t makes a noise when the air conditioner is on they already replaced the water pump and air compressor

The rear spoiler detached on I-40 East bound and flew into traffic. This occurred on 9/25/2026. I have contacted my local dealership multiple times and they have informed me that a permanent fix is not available and the part is on back order. I am requesting that the replacement be ordered, installed, and properly inspected free of charge. Dodge is very lucky injury didn’t occur.

Taillight is retaining water and causing my taillights to go out. This is a very well known issue as the dealer was aware of this issue with a lot of Durangos. The dealer offered no repair as there’s not be a recall and the warranty on my Durango is up. My rear hatch/lift gate is also off and rubbing near the bottom causing the paint to be worn and now beginning to rust. There’s are definitely a quality issue with Dodge as there’s many other Durango’s affected by this.

Vehicle Headlight with built in DRL and Ambiant Turn signal with only 7779 miles on the dashboard, purchased brand new in 2023

I own a 2022 Dodge Durango. During normal loading and unloading of cargo with the liftgate open, I have sustained three separate lacerations to my forearm and wrist from the exposed, sharp inside corners of the rear taillight assemblies. The injuries have occurred on both the driver-side and passenger-side taillights during ordinary use of the cargo area. Each incident resulted from simply reaching into or removing items from the rear cargo area. The taillight corners are extremely sharp and are positioned where a person’s arms naturally pass while using the cargo area. The cuts were severe enough to leave permanent scars, and I have photographs documenting the injuries. After experiencing these injuries, I found that other Dodge Durango owners have reported similar lacerations from the same taillight design. Based on my experience and these other reports, I believe the rear taillight assemblies present an unreasonable risk of laceration during normal, foreseeable use of the vehicle. I am submitting this complaint so NHTSA can evaluate whether this design presents a safety defect and determine whether further investigation is warranted.

Replaced batteries, and power steering went out, it put my vehicle out of alignment... I tried getting an alignment at local Firestone. Told me they could not connect to the angle sensors and that I need to get a new rack and pinion

The contact stated that during a routine maintenance appointment, the mechanic discovered that the rear license plate light had become inoperable due to moisture and corrosion. The contact was informed that the rear racing track lighting assembly, which included the rear brake lights, needed to be replaced. The rear racing track lighting assembly was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 31,000.

My vehicle is a 2022 Dodge Durango, and suddenly, about a month ago, the driverside day-time running light stopped working. This seemed strange because it's an LED light and they generally last the majority of the vehicle's life, but certainly longer than four years. Then I started to notice other Durangos locally with the same problem, all with the driver's side daytime running light only. I've checked multiple online forums as well and confirmed that this is a widespread problem. I contacted the FCA hotline to report this problem and to see if Dodge had either addressed this problem or would be willing to. Each time the representative denied having a single complaint about this problem, which I knew to be false after the second time, because I knew there was at least one, MINE from the first report. This repair cost over $1600, and is still not done because the headlight assembly for the driver's side is on back order. Yes, the driver-side headlight assembly is on back order, but not the passenger-side one. When asked why the passenger side is not on backorder, but the driver-side one is, I was told it's because there seems to be a widespread problem with the ones that came on the vehicle from the factory, and replacing them has caused a backorder. To add insult to injury, Dodge's own warranty does not cover this problem, and neither do their expensive extended warranties, because the problem is considered to be a "sealed beam", not the headlight assembly itself, even thoug

2022 Dodge Duranago I bought last March of 2025, certified preowned with 26,700 miles. As of today March 21 2026 there was water build up in the rear racetrack light. Upon starting the car the lights began flickering and the entire racetrack bar die with no light illumination at all. I could clearly see water build up in the bottom right hand corner of the light as well as water condensation on the lower left corner of the light. Many other Durango owners reported having the same issue with the dealerships not covering this.

Multiple reports on every forum on the Day Time Running Lights both Driver and Passenger side going out on 2020 to current Dodge Durangos with less than 20,000 on most at time of complaint. It cannot be repaired, only replaced with new headlight assembly at $1200 each. I have owned three (3) Dodge Durangos. #1 2020 Dodge Durango GT Driver side DRL went out at 5500miles. It was totaled in a MVC before it could be repaired under warranty. #2 2021 Dodge Durango GT. Driver side DRL went out at 7600 miles. Dodge made an offer on it during the Covid shortage and we took the offer. #3. Current vehicle is a 2022 Dodge Durango GT Plus. Driver side DRL went out at 62,000 miles. Dodge warranty will not cover the replacement.

The Driver's side daytime running light white LED strip is inoperable. After internet research this complaint is very common and similar to the tail "racetrack" light recall. Because daytime running increases visibility of vehicles on the road, this is safety related. I have since observed several late year model Durangos with this exact fault. Stelantis/Dodge/Chrysler will not warranty the fault and the corrective action is to remove and replace the entire headlamp assembly at an estimated cost of $2k parts and labor.

Radio screens keep going bad causing the backup camera to not work until after a power cycle of the screen takes place. Sometimes a power cycle is not possible and the screen take a minute or two to turn on. I have had multiple radios in our car do this. I was told at the dealership that Stellantis admits they have a design flaw which causes the radio to overheat and melt the components in the radio unit. This is a series safety concern, not only because of the backup camera not displaying but a possible fire hazard if components are over heating.

I was driving slowly in heavy rain and pulled up to a red light behind another vehicle. Just as I was almost fully stopped, my car suddenly accelerated on its own and struck the vehicle in front of me. The car is equipped with an automatic braking system that should apply the brakes when there is an obstacle. Instead, not only did it fail to brake, it accelerated fully. If the car in front of us had not stopped us, we would have entered a very busy intersection, where we could have been seriously injured and might have hurt others. We were about to enter the freeway, and if this had happened there, the outcome could have been catastrophic. There were no warning lights or alerts of any kind. It happened completely out of the blue. We had the car towed to the dealer in Santa Barbara, where no problem was found. We then took it to the dealer in Thousand Oaks, where we purchased it, and again no problem was found. The vehicle’s black box was checked, but because the car was traveling under 5 mph at the time, nothing was recorded. We contacted Chrysler and reported the issue. So far, no action has been taken, and for the past week they have not even returned our calls. The incident occurred on [XXX]. We cannot drive this car. We also cannot sell it, because we cannot knowingly expose someone else to such a life-threatening risk. Since the problem has not been identified and fixed, it could happen again. The contact stated that while approaching the vehicle after it was remotely started, the contact discovered that both headlights had failed to function as needed. I don't understand this vehicle is still fairly new and my daytime running light on the driver side stop working for some reason and I don't understand I also noticed all the lighting system in the rear all has water in it now I'm worried is all the lighting in this car going to go bad because I see it in a lot of cars out here on the road. I tried everything in the settings I've tried everything

1-Driver side LED inside the headlight burnt out doesn't work anymore can't replace LED in the headlight must replace the unit. Vehicle can be ready on request 2-the safety of me and my family are at risk of crashing or going off the road at night time because the lighting of the LED light doesn't put out a bright light of the road and objects in front of my vehicle like the other side that works 3- the dealer said there is no recall so they can't do nothing. 4- the police said if it don't get fixed soon I would start getting tickets for a blown out headlight but the headlight bulbs work 5- no messages or warning came on the dash this problem began June 1,2025 I looked at reviews of this happening to many 2022,2023,2024 dodge durango's and the front end and fender has to come off the vehicle to get to the headlight unit screws witch leads to over a thousand dollars for parts and labor this is a safety problem and a malfunction that I hope it don't lead to someone getting hurt or killed because of dodge not taking responsibility for a malfunction part. Vehicle will not shift into drive. This issue is similar to the ZB3 problem. Improperly heat treated shifter parts failed and will not allow the transmission to shift into drive.

DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS ON DRIVER'S SIDE INOP. DUE TO LED STRIPS IN HEADLAMPS NOT WORKING. SOMEONE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME FROM A SIDE ROAD, ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL OF YEARS FROM DODGE. THERE ARE NO WARNING LAMPS OR ANY SYMPTOMS. I NOTICED IT WHEN I PARKED IN FRONT OF A STORE AND NOTICED IN THE REFLECTION IN THE GLASS THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE DRL NOT WORKING AND REMEMBERED SOMEONE PULLING OUT IN FRONT OF ME EARLIER THAT DAY AND WONDERED IF THIS MAY HAVE BEEN THE REASON FOR THIS. THERE NEEDS TO BE A BETTER BULB REPLACEMENT REQUIREMENT FROM THE GOVERNMENT TO KEEP MANUFACTURERS FROM REQUIRING A WHOLE $1200 HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY (PLUS LABOR) JUST BECAUSE A COUPLE OF LED STRIPS STOPPED WORKING. IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM SINCE THERE ARE MANY FORUMS ABOUT OTHERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH ONLY THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLAMP DRL'S GOING OUT.

Vehicle Sudden Unintended Acceleration – Safety Complaint Vehicle: 2022 Dodge Durango Weather: Rain Situation: The vehicle was at an almost complete stop at a red light and in a 5 feet distance from the car in front. Without pressing the accelerator, the car suddenly surged forward at significant force and hit the vehicle in front of us. There was no driver input on the accelerator. The incident appeared to be caused by an electronic or computer malfunction, possibly related to moisture from the rain. This could have resulted in serious injury or death if another vehicle had not been in front of us to stop the acceleration. Please investigate this issue, as it represents a major safety risk.

Driver’s side daytime running light ceased working permanently. This creates a safety issue due to its role in conjunction with the headlights.

Vehicle engine shut off while driving approximately 50mph. No prior issues or warning lamps. The failure happened without any warning. I had over half a tank of fuel at the time of the stall. Loss of engine propulsion is extremely dangerous as I was in rush hour traffic on a major highway in Houston, TX. Luckily the stall occurred at an exit and I was able to safely get to a area to pull over. Dash read out said I needed to be in park to start the engine. Engine started without issue and I finished my drive home.

My driver side front LED turn signal has failed after 42,890 miles. My safety and others safety is affected as my drivers side front LED turn signal is no longer functioning which makes it hard for others to know I’m turning left. The turn signal has stopped functioning on Monday, Aug 25th 2025 resulting in it not functioning since. Warning light shows on dashboard in “stored messages” on instrument cluster (pics and video of both can be provided). The vehicle has not been inspected by the dealership or anyone else yet. The vehicle is scheduled to go into the shop late September for brakes (will have them look at code for led turn signal being out). Reading over my extended warranty from the manufacturer and asking a representative; they informed me that the replacement of a headlight assembly was not covered under warranty, but gave no proper explanation why. Only that it’s not listed under covered parts; yet covered parts does state a “concealed headlamp module.”

The vehicle suffers some type of known issue that is causing a driver's side daytime running light failure. From all the research I have done and forums I have read, this is ALWAYS the driver's side failure. The manufacturer can offer no solution to this when questioned about it other than offering up a complete headlight assembly at over 2000 dollars. The LED lighting that fails is non replaceable and non repairable. Having this failure on the driver's side can cause immediate threats in low visibility situations that could lead oncoming traffic to believe the passenger side that continues to always work is actually the driver's side. This causes in my opinion a threat of head on collision in low visibility such as dense fog like i have in my area daily.

While enroute to a priority call our officer experienced a catastrophic engine failure. Said vehicle was in the day before for brakes, and our mechanic always does PM to include a check of coolant fluid level, oil and windshield washer fluid, and car was fine. Vehicle overheated, and shut down shortly after, taking officer out of service and leaving call without an police unit to respond. For personal vehicles this creates a risk of car failure, but for emergency responders it is a much higher safety risk based on the nature of our calls we are responding to. At one point last year i had 4 cars all down at once for same issue. I spoke with Dodge dealer who said this is a very common issue. I tried to file a complaint with Stellantis which was not helpful.

The issue also happens to other Mopar vehicles with LED DRL strips. Component has been inspected by dealer only. Has not gone up the chain. No other warning lamps or messages were displayed. Vehicle passed all internal tests before dealer computer scan.

Uconnect box requires service

Driver side DRL malfunction and impacts visibility at night. No warning/error codes. Starter Relay causing no crank/Fuel pump failure causing me to stall out in the middle of a intersection

My Durango has been in and out the shop since May. It was the fuel pump and everything connected to it which is a pain in the rear. Also the design of the taillight should be assessed as well. It’s very pricy to fix when it gets the water and dark spots in it . All of us aren’t blessed with a house with a garage.

I am writing to formally request assistance regarding a persistent and unresolved issue with my vehicle’s Uconnect system, which has now escalated into a serious safety concern. I purchased my vehicle in April 2022. Within two weeks, I began receiving an error message stating: “Uconnect Box requires service. Please visit an authorized dealer.” Since then, I have brought the vehicle to Cutter Dodge Honolulu on multiple occasions, beginning on June 1, 2022, to address this issue. Each time, I was informed that the error was due to a pending software update and that no immediate fix was available. Despite repeated service visits, including 6/30/22, 8/18/22, 11/22/22, 6/13/23, 9/1/23, 10/25/23, 12/14/23, 2/1/24, 10/3/24, and most recently on 5/22/25, the issue has never been resolved. I consistently reported the Uconnect error, and each time, I was reassured that an update would eventually be released. I trusted the expertise of the dealership and continued to follow their guidance, despite the inconvenience and growing frustration. On [XXX], during a routine oil change and inspection, the situation worsened significantly. My entire radio system and associated safety features, including lane change alerts and front braking warnings, ceased functioning. I was referred to another location, where a technician (Mark from Store #45473) informed me that the entire radio system needed replacement. However, I was told that my warranty had expired, by only 77 miles, and that I would need

I have a daytime running light that went out on the driver-side front. It is an LED light designed to last for 30,000-50,000 hours. I have an estimate of more than $1,700 by Port Lavaca Dodge in PL, TX to replace the light from the dealer. I also purchased an extended warranty but it specifically excludes bulbs. I have also seen at least 2 other Dodge Durangos in our small town with the same bulb out. I have also looked at the complaints on the internet to see that this is not a secluded issue but a real problem. On 6/14/2025, I received a warning ticket #[XXX], from Texas DPS for this defect. The transmission dropped after being stopped at a stop light and lightly accelerating. When this happened the vehicle dropped to neutral. After pulling over it did go into first gear but that’s it. When in reverse it moves a foot then goes back in to neutral.

Car having trouble starting, turns over with a long crank then doesn’t start. Cranks on the second time

Fuel System- Had the Durango 1 month spent 50k. At least 50% of the vehicle attempted starts fail. The second attempt the vehicle starts every time. Started researching this, this is very common on the newer Durango's as well as the older ones. I have a huge fear of being stranded and the cost associated with that. I had it looked at the dealer I bought it from and they could not replicate the problem, however when I got into leave it did it the first try. While driving on the highway, the engine overheating light came on, the car seemed to be losing power, and I pulled over and was then towed to the dealership. My safety was put at risk as I could have been hit as the car was slowing down in fast traffic; it also was extremely cold (about 5 degrees F) while I waited for the tow truck. The tow truck driver noted that I had lost coolant fluid due to a large puddle beneath the car. The dealership reported that the aluminum coolant line had rubbed against the transmission cooler and had broken through, causing a loss of fluid. The dealership replaced the coolant line and also stated that they cut an extra piece of aluminum and wrapped it around the coolant line to reinforce that line and stop it from rubbing through by rubbing against the transmission cooler. I stated that this seemed like a design defect but the dealership responded that these things just happen. I note that there appears to be a similar recall in 2022 Durango Hellcats for the coolant line being subjected to abrasion from rubbing on the serpentine belt. The dealership did not return the parts to me; I do not know whether they provided them to the manufacturer for inspection.

From manufacturing dodge put a clamp on a rubber hose that goes to the transmission heater. That clamped rubbed a hole into the metal antifreeze line above it. My car started over heating on a busy road. Luckily I was able to pull off without being hit. Dodge doesn’t wanna do anything about it but it’s a known issue for the Durango’s. But dodge won’t recall the issue. Instead their wanting to charge people anywhere from 2k up to 6k depending what state you live it. The issue is known to occur around 50k miles to around 65k miles

The part number is not listed specifically on extended warranty and my car doesn’t have bulbs so the whole headlight assembly has to be replaced and dealer won’t input it as concealed headlight module keep using part number and this is 2nd time having issue. the first time it was covered under warranty and now they don’t want to and it was same issue

Daytime running light out on driver side. I researched this on internet and just about every Dodge Durango owner is experiencing same.

Vehicle has a long crank time. Vehicle will not start after approximately 10 seconds. The vehicle will start on the second try. There is a strong smell of fuel after that. I have taken the vehicle in multiple times with the dealership saying nothing is wrong or they can’t duplicate the problem. I have showed the dealership videos of it happening and feel that they are not taking it seriously. The problem is getting worse and I fear that one day either I will be stranded or the vehicle will shut off while I’m am driving it.

The owner would have removed the whole bumper to replace the whole light fixture. This can damage the car even more if the owner is not a properly trained mechanic. Also reviewing forums online and I see a lot of 2021 up new dodge Durango model are having the same issue and it's costing the owner $1000 plus to repair it at the dealership.
