Vehicle Safety Complaint – 2026 Dodge Durango I am reporting a recurring safety issue involving the driver’s seat belt in my 2026 Dodge Durango. The seat belt repeatedly becomes stuck/locked in the retractor and will not pull out far enough for me to buckle it. This has occurred more than once and has prevented me from being able to properly secure myself before driving the vehicle. I have attempted to allow the seat belt to fully retract and then slowly pull it back out, but the problem continues to occur. I am very concerned because this is the driver’s primary safety restraint, and when the seat belt becomes stuck, I cannot safely operate the vehicle. This vehicle is a 2026 model and should not be experiencing a recurring failure of such a critical safety component. I am requesting that this complaint be documented and investigated as a potential seat-belt retractor or restraint-system defect. I would also like to know whether similar complaints have been reported for this vehicle and whether any recall, investigation, technical service bulletin, or other corrective action applies. Backup camera is blurry making it difficult to see especially at night

I have numerous issues with this vehicle. Let’s begin with the AC not working. Additionally, there’s water leaking from the inside, coming from the passenger and driver sides. The front carpets have a foul odor. While we were driving from the service center, white smoke started coming through the driver’s side vents. When we make turns, we hear a creaking noise. We took it to the service center and got it back a week later, but they didn’t fix the problem. I just need to know what’s going on with my vehicle

The contact owns a 2026 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while driving 35 MPH, there was heavy white smoke coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact immediately pulled over and allowed the engine to cool down. The contact was able to continue driving the vehicle; however, the failure returned upon reaching arriving at the intended destination. The contact stated that there was an abnormal odor coming from the vehicle and the emergency services were contacted. When the Fire Department arrived on the scene, the smoke had ceased; however, the odor remained. The Fire Department inspected the vehicle and determined that the fire might have started due to a failure of the cooling hose. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.

The Lebra protection cover negates the safety features on Durangos with front radar. The radar protects the vehicle for collision avoidance, auto speed reduction, lane departure, and other safety features. There is a cutout in the LeBra cover which should permit the radar to function correctly but it does not. My vehicle displays a red light and beeps constantly with the cover installed. Without the cover there are no issues. I contacted Dodge Connect and they stated that this is a know problem with front end covers with radar safety options. They accessed my vehicle and checked the alignment etc. Which was correct. They then led me thru resetting the system to be sure that there was no “hard” error. There were no hard errors and nothing they did fixed the issue. They sent me the following which is printed on the Dodge Durango web site. >>>>Do not attach or install any accessories near the sensor, including transparent material or aftermarket grilles. Doing so will cause an ACC system failure or malfunction. Notice is states NEAR! I sent all the photos requested. They are: A picture of the cover installed, A picture of the front of the radar with the cover on, a picture of the malfunction caused by the cover and a video illustrating the malfunctioning safety issues caused, the serial number of the Lebra, two pictures of the vehicle without the cover installed. These photos can be expanded for a closeup view. I have sent all information and pictures requested by Cover Craft. I

The contact owns a 2026 Dodge Durango. While driving at an undisclosed speed in a rainstorm, the front window windshield wipers failed to wipe the windshield. The windshield wipers were replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. Additionally, the instrument panel failed to display an accurate fuel level. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who informed the contact that the failure was caused by an inoperable hood latch and electrical wiring that was damaged. The hood latch wiring was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that later, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was bucking and hesitating, and the instrument panel became inoperable. Additionally, after starting the vehicle, there was a whining sound coming from the engine while the transmission was shifting gears. The local dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. While driving uphill, the vehicle stalled with the message "BRAKES" displayed. The vehicle was restarted and later returned to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. After retrieving the vehicle, approximately 500 miles later, while driving on a back road and crossing a dangerous intersection, the vehicle suddenly stalled in the middle of the intersection with oncoming traffic approaching. The contact owns a 2026 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH on a desert highway, the vehicle made an abnormal sound. The contact started to lose control of the vehicle and managed to pull over to the shoulder of the highway; however, the front passenger's side tire detached from the vehicle in the process. The contact notified the manufacturer of the failure and requested roadside assistance. After the vehicle was impounded by the highway patrol, it was towed to the dealer. The vehicle remained in the dealer's possession and had yet to be diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

"Service Shifter" alert came on at about 2250 miles and engine light came on about 100 miles later . Dodge service at dealership looked at and could not determine issues, lights did not illuminate in their care. Picked up my car after service and both service shifter and engine lights came back on.

I put the car in reverse, and it accelerated uncontrollably, and the brake wouldn't work, and it hit another car Then, I put it in drive, and it accelerated uncontrollably again, and the brake wouldn't work again It was accelerating uncontrollably in both reverse and drive and the break wasn't working I got it stopped with the emergency parking brake There were warning lights and signals during this incident The safety risk was from the possibility of hitting someone or something The car was rented from enterprise and they have been informed, and we are waiting to hear about an inspection I have uploaded a picture of the key fob for the rented car The cruise control was acting up before, it accelerated uncontrolled, but was stopped when disengaged

My vehicle is only one month old. Bought brand new from the dealership. While I was driving down the road my sunroof spontaneity exploded. Nothing hit the sunroof, there was not prior crack or chip in it. I had the window closed but the cover open. It sounded like an explosion and then glass just rained down on top of me. Dealership is refusing to cover cost after spending almost $60,000 with them one month ago.

1) Major transmission failure, fluid leakage, and visible undercarriage corrosion on a newly leased car with under 3K miles on it. Additional: Losing vehicle function. Car would not shift into gear and would not move. Car is currently at the dealership in which it was leased. 2) Yes, huge safety concern. Losing vehicle function while traveling on a bridge—with limited ability to safely stop posed a serious risk to our safety and to others on the road. 3) Yes, problem has been confirmed by dealer. 4) The vehicle has not been inspected at this time by anyone other than the dealership in which it was leased. 5)While accelerating at approximately 30–35 mph, the vehicle began emitting a high-pitched whining noise, similar to sound of a remote-control toy car. The vehicle then started jerking back and forth during acceleration. Shortly after, the “Check Engine” light illuminated. We activated our hazard lights, reduced speed to approximately 10-20 mph, exited the bridge, and pulled into an emergency stopping area. There was no prior warning that there was a problem.

Taillights holding water/condensation and making lights go dark.

On march 18th 2026 my vehicle was sitting in the driveway and my back windshield exploded. The glass fell outwards and not inwards. There was no cracks or anything on windshield prior to this incident. There was no one around the vehicle at the time and our cameras did not show anyone throwing anything at the vehicle. The side it exploded on was facing the sun.
