Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Odyssey vehicles. Water may enter into the rearview camera, which can cause the rearview camera image to fail to display when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk. A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the rearview camera, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 24, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Defect. The front passenger seat weight sensor may crack and short circuit, which can cause the air bags to deploy unintentionally during a crash.

Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2022 Odyssey vehicles. A software programming error can cause the side and side curtain air bags to deploy unexpectedly.

Risk. Air bags that deploy unexpectedly can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy. Dealers will reprogram the supplemental restraint system (SRS) electronic control unit (ECU) software or replace the ECU, as necessary, free of charge. Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Acura TLX, 2016-2020 Acura MDX, 2016 and 2018-2019 Pilot, 2017 and 2019 Ridgeline, and 2018-2019 Odyssey vehicles. Due to a manufacturing error, the connecting rod bearing in the engine may wear and seize, damaging the engine.

Risk. A damaged engine may run improperly or stall while driving, increasing the risk of a fire, crash, or injury.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and repair, or replace the engine as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed March 28, 2024. 2016-2017 Acura MDX owner letters were mailed November 1, 2024. 2016-2020 Acura MDX owner letters are expected to be mailed in mid-December 2024. Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2023 Odyssey, 2019-2022 Pilot, and 2019-2023 Passport vehicles. Due to a faulty Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) communication coaxial cable connector, the rearview camera image may not appear on the display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk. A rearview camera that does not display an image can reduce the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the MOST cable harness and install a straightening cover over the vehicle cable connector, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 24, 2023. Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017-2020 CR-V, 2018-2019 Accord and Accord Hybrid, 2018-2020 Odyssey, 2019 Insight, and 2019-2020 Acura RDX vehicles. A manufacturing issue with the front seat belts may cause the seat belt buckle channel to interfere with the release button, preventing the seat belt buckle from latching.

Risk. An unlatched seat belt cannot properly restrain the seat occupant during a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the driver and front passenger seat belt buckle release buttons or the buckle assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Acura MDX, MDX Sport Hybrid, RDX, TLX, Honda Accord, Civic Hatchback, Insight, 2019 Acura ILX, Honda Accord Hybrid, Civic Coupe, Civic Coupe Si, Civic Sedan, Civic Sedan Si, Civic Type R, Fit, HR-V, Odyssey, Passport, Pilot and Ridgeline, and 2018-2019 CR-V vehicles. The low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.

Risk. Fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed May 18, 2021. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Note: This recall is an expansion of recall 20V-314.

Defect. Braun Corporation (Braun) is recalling certain 2018-2021 Braun-modified Honda Odyssey vehicles. The fuel tank assembly installed by Braun may be susceptible to the fuel tank overfilling into the charcoal canister. If the charcoal canister fills with a sufficient amount of fuel, fuel may leak out.

Risk. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire.

Remedy. Braun will notify owners, and dealers will inspect vehicles. If evidence of a fuel leak is present, a new fuel tank assembly and a new Honda charcoal canister will be installed, free of charge. The recall began February 22, 2021. Owners may contact Braun customer service at 1-800-488-0359.

Defect. Honda (America Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Odyssey vehicles. Water may enter the outer door handle cables for the sliding doors. If this occurs, the outer door handle cables may freeze in cold temperatures, preventing the front and rear sliding door latches from securely latching.

Risk. A power sliding door that fails to latch may open while moving, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy. Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the power sliding door outer handle cables, free of charge. The recall began September 23, 2020. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is A88.

I own a 2019 Honda Odyssey EX with approximately 117,000 miles. While driving the vehicle from the roadway into a church parking lot, the driver's-side rear coil spring completely broke. There was no collision or accident involved. The failure occurred during normal driving as the vehicle entered the parking lot. The snap was very loud. I have never previously experienced a broken coil spring on a vehicle. The failure involved a major rear suspension component and occurred while the vehicle was in motion. A broken coil spring could potentially affect vehicle stability and ride height, damage other suspension components or the tire, or create a hazard if a portion of the broken spring were to become detached. I am reporting this because I am concerned that a rear coil spring would completely fracture during normal use at approximately 117,000 miles. I have since learned of other reported rear coil spring failures involving 2018–2019 Honda Odysseys, including reports of driver's-side and passenger-side rear springs breaking while the vehicles were being driven. I request that NHTSA document this failure and consider whether there is a broader safety issue involving the rear coil springs on this generation of Honda Odyssey. My name is [XXX], we bought a brand new 2019 Honda Odyssey Elite, we have had problems with this vehicle since day one. They have lied and covered up the issues with this vehicle starting with the infotainment center, transmission slippage, fuel pump and the front camera has been overheating giving us the message that it is overheating and all the lights come on. They have stalled us on these issues and now the extended warranty is up and we want something done about this. We have babied this vehicle the entire time since new and it seems like one problem after another, at this point we are very disappointed from the way we are being treated from Honda. The latest is the front sensor on the front mirror that pops up all the lights on the dash, no one seems to be able to duplicate the problem, now they are on all the time and conveniently the extra extended warranty we bought have since expired, there was a lot of recalls on this vehicle and no one ever seems to be able to send us the recall letters. We really thin the mirror sensor and the transmission are definitely safety issues especially when the mirror shuts all the safety off. The transmission shifts hard at times and we pray that Honda will step up to the plate and do the right thing and fix the other recall issues on this same vehicle as well. We have other Honda vehicles that we have not had any issues with, we just can't understand why we are being treated in this manner, we just want the vehicle fixed. INFORMATION

By August 1, 2026, the check-engine light was on in my 2019 Honda Odyssey. I reported that the light was steady and the van was running normally, with no noticeable drivability problems. On August 31, 2026, at 141,126 miles, an authorized Honda dealer recorded DTC P0430, performed an air/fuel test, documented that the fuel injectors failed, and recommended replacing them. The dealer noted that failed injectors can cause P0430. The injector-specific parts-and-labor estimate is $1,849.06. No injector repair or post-repair test is documented yet. There was no crash, fire, injury, fatality, or police report. Honda Service Bulletin 21-010 provides a 10-year/150,000-mile injector warranty extension for certain 2018-2019 Odysseys. For P0430, it directs an air/fuel test and injector replacement if the test fails. Honda says this vehicle's VIN is ineligible despite the dealer's matching diagnostic pathway and offered 50% goodwill. This bulletin is a warranty extension, not a recall. I ask NHTSA to examine whether the eligible VIN population adequately captures 2019 Odysseys with this documented failure pattern. The attached evidence summary identifies 27 public NHTSA complaints that report injector or matching-code concerns together with VIN-based coverage exclusion; those are owner allegations, not confirmed failure rates. My wife was driving our young daughters and the vehicle had multiple warning lights come on. then several messages stated transmission drive unavailable. then the vehicle stopped moving and stalled in a busy street. it would re-start but was idling at 3000rpm. however it would not move from where it died. it had to be towed to the Honda dealer. It was a very dangerous situation because it went from a check engine light to a dead vehicle in 30 seconds. very unsafe!

Faulty fuel injectors. Causes code P0219A

Vehicle began to misfire on cylinder 3. As the issue continued more cylinders stared to misfire. Next was number 6, then 2 increased up the engine. Air fuel ratio was 1.6. Assuming it was fuel/air/electrical in nature, the spark plugs, and fuel injector were changed and air intake and upper valves were cleaned of carbon build up. All gaskets replaced by new. Discovered and replaced a bad egr valve. Last codes that the car displayed before towing to dealer were many misfire codes and 2 engine/transmission communication errors. Dealer shop discovered air fuel ratio of 1.35 and checked all work before. Discovered fuel pooling and some shiny areas in the engine from scoping it. Decided that if was a bad engine with internal failure and transmission. Quoted me $17000 (about the same value as the vehicle if it was jn very good condition) for a new engine and transmission or $6800 for a used engine alone at risk of replacing transmission as well assuming communication errors do not go way or transmission fails further. I have called honda corporate my reference # 16624114. I requested goodwill repair due to recalls and class action lawsuits related to connecting rods in engines of similar cars and model years. And transmissions recalls for similar cars and model years. Goodwill is unlikely but pending.

When attempting to accelerate after completing a stop, there was no response from the vehicle when the accelerator was pressed for 2-3 seconds, then the vehicle suddenly lurched violently forward and hit the rear end of a vehicle in front causing severe damage to the cars.

Multipurpose camera on the Honda safety sensing system has failed. There are no warnings for blind spots or lane assists. My daughter will be driving this car. Confirmed by a service center with a diagnostic completed. No warning signs prior to failure. It failed on 8/30/2026

The sliding doors on the Honda Odyssey aren't latching; when trying to close them, they refuse.

In January 2026, my 2019 Honda Odyssey (approximately 110,000 miles) suddenly began displaying multiple simultaneous warning messages on the dashboard, including Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Lane Keeping Assist Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, Auto High-Beam Problem, and a Brake System warning light. These warnings do not clear and are present every time the vehicle is started. As a result, the following safety systems are completely disabled: Forward collision avoidance / automatic emergency braking — the vehicle no longer detects or warns of potential frontal collisions Auto high-beam headlights — no longer switch automatically Adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist — inoperable Road departure mitigation — inoperable In addition to disabling these safety systems, the persistent warning messages significantly obstruct the main instrument cluster display, making it difficult to see basic driving information including speed, fuel level, and odometer/mileage. This is a serious distraction and visibility concern in itself, separate from the loss of the safety systems. I have not yet had the vehicle professionally diagnosed, but based on extensive research into this issue — including reviewing the NHTSA complaint database — this appears to be a widespread and well-documented defect affecting 2018-2020 Honda Odyssey vehicles. My 2019 Honda Odyssey has a recurring and dangerous hesitation-to-accelerate defect that began within a few weeks of purchase and has continued for approximately one year, occurring roughly once every 5 times I drive the vehicle. The failure occurs when accelerating from a stop or slow speed, most critically when crossing traffic — for example, turning left across an oncoming lane or pulling out into a road with an approaching vehicle. When I press the accelerator pedal, the vehicle fails to respond for approximately 2-3 seconds. The pedal feels unresponsive during this delay. The transmission then suddenly engages and the vehicle accelerates abruptly and rapidly. This has created several genuinely dangerous situations. On multiple occasions, while attempting to cross traffic or complete a left turn, the vehicle did not move as expected while another vehicle was approaching, leaving me exposed in the roadway during the delay before the sudden acceleration occurred. These were not near-miss "in my head" moments — an approaching vehicle was close enough that the delay put me at direct risk of a collision. I brought this to my Honda dealer for inspection. The dealer was unable to reproduce the issue during their test drive and found no diagnostic trouble codes. The vehicle was returned to me with no repair performed. I have researched this issue and found it to be widely reported among other 2018-2020 Honda Odyssey owners, with symptoms matching mine almost exactly — hesitation

Front camera failure causing all system errors to not work to include lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, auto high beam.

The rear latch on the passenger sliding door has stopped latching. The part seems rusted out, and the door doesn't stay closed. It actually slid open a few inches while we were driving. The door does not stay latched. Our daughter was sitting next to the door and was afraid of falling out.

2019 Honda Odyssey Ex : Sensing camera located behind front windshield failed and stopped working and giving bunch of error messages. Cruise Control and other saftey features operated with help of this camera stopped working. The part number is 36160-THR-A11-M1

The vehicle’s front camera/Honda Sensing system has failed, causing multiple safety features to become unavailable simultaneously, including forward collision warning, collision mitigation braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and related systems. The failure produces multiple warning messages and disables safety systems that the vehicle was equipped and marketed with. This is a recurring issue reported by other Honda owners and is currently the subject of a proposed class action lawsuit, Jones et al. v. American Honda Motor Co., Inc., Case No. [XXX]. The lawsuit alleges a defective front camera system affecting 2018–2025 Honda vehicles, including the Odyssey. I believe this constitutes a safety defect because the failure can occur unexpectedly and simultaneously disables multiple driver-assistance and collision-avoidance safety systems. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue and require Honda to issue a safety recall and provide a free repair. Emissions system code popping up. Car smells of fasoline

​The multipurpose windshield camera module in my 2019 Honda Odyssey experiences an internal electronic/power failure (Diagnostic Trouble Code U3000-49) while driving. This failure triggers a cascade of warning lights across the dashboard, instantly and without warning disabling the entire Honda Sensing driver-assist suite—including Collision Mitigation Braking (CMBS), Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Auto High Beams.

For about 3-4 years now we have had issues with either the accelerator and/or possibly the transmission. We are not exactly sure which because our dealer claims they can never recreate the issue which is hard to believe since the issue happens to us most times the car is driven. The complaint that we have is intermittent delayed/no acceleration when accelerator is pressed, followed by sudden surge/punch forward after releasing and pressing accelerator again. What makes it particularly frightening is when it happens and the car is exposed to other perpendicular traffic that may not have to stop. No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem occur or accompany the issue in question. The vehicle has only been looked at by our Honda Dealership.

Rear view multipurpose camera failed

Ton of warning messages displayed related to ADAS systems not working. Took car to the dealership and was told the multicamera system failed. Messages almost identical to what's reported here and apparently many other Honda owners are reporting the same problem.
