Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2019 Lincoln MKC, Mustang, F-350 SD, F-250 SD, F-450 SD, 2015-2017 Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, 2015-2018 Edge, Transit Connect, 2016-2019 F-550 SD, Transit, 2017-2019 Econoline, and 2019 Ranger vehicles. The rearview camera may display a distorted, inverted, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse.

Risk. A rearview camera that displays an inverted, distorted, or blank image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 13, 2026. Ford owners will receive letters in phases, beginning January 2026 and June 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S89. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V270. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning September 8, 2025.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2016 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 vehicles. Dust may accumulate in the steering wheel clock spring, causing a disconnection in the electrical connection resulting in the driver's air bag not deploying as intended.

Risk. A disconnected driver's air bag can result in it not deploying, as intended, during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the steering wheel clock spring, free of charge. Remedy parts are expected to become available in the 3rd Quarter of 2023. An interim notification letter informing owners of the safety risk was mailed on July 6, 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed July 10, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S35.

Defect. Icon Vehicle Dynamics, LLC (Icon) is recalling all 05-UP FSD 2.5 Centerline Stabilizer Kits with part number 65050. The kits were sold as an accessory for certain 2005-2021 Ford F-250 4X4 and F-350 4X4 pickup trucks. The foam ring inside the stabilizer "through shaft" may block the piston ports, possibly causing the steering to lock up.

Risk. If the steering locks, it can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Icon will notify owners, and dealers will install a new shock assembly with a revised foam ring and steel support disc, free of charge. The recall began December 21, 2020. Owners may contact Icon customer service at 1-951-689-4266.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2016 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 trucks manufactured April 5, 2016, to April 11, 2016. The tires installed during assembly of the affected vehicles may have sustained damage to the inner sidewall, possibly resulting in a loss of air or a tire rupture.

Risk. A rapid loss of air or a tire rupture while the vehicle is being driven may cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the tires for damage and replace them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on May 23, 2016. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S17.

Fuel leak from plastic fuel filter housing caused fire

Failure of Bosch CP4 fuel pump causing me to be stranded on the side of the road. No recalls currently issued and cannot afford a $15,000 fix

I was driving my truck on a highway in [XXX]. I was going 70 MPH when we crossed over a bridge. The pavement was lower than the bridge cement. that cause the truck to have a slight bump when crossing over it. That cause the entire truck to begin a violent shaking (death wobble). it was very hard to control the truck. I had to step on the brakes very hard to slow down almost completely on the highway to stop the shaking. all the other traffic was trying to avoid my truck. fortunately no accidents occurred. I've spent $4000. dollars to try to fix the problem. Every time the Ford dealership says there is nothing else they can do. My 2016 Ford F250 was flagged under safety recall notice 25S89, NHTSA recall 25V572 for the issue of where the backup camera could display a blank/distorted image, or message that the rear view camera is unavailable. The camera on my F250 has not completely failed, but has exhibited the known issues mentioned in the recall intermittently. I received the recall notice from Ford and brought my F250 to Wiscasset Ford for a scheduled appointment on 5/9/2026 to address. Wiscasset Ford did not repair my camera or replace any parts based on what they claimed was "a lack of recall codes were present". The dealership afterward must have entered in the database that they have addressed the recall as my VIN now shows no open recalls on it, despite the fact they didn't replace/repair anything. I received a letter from Ford referring to "Customer Satisfaction Program 25N15" stating not to return to the dealer for this repair "UNLESS" if the rear view camera displays a blank or distorted image. On 8/10/2026, my truck exhibited the distorted image/"camera not available" message again on an occasion in reverse. I took photos/video as proof. I once again made an appointment for 9/10/2026 at 8:15AM to address the issue. Upon arrival and explaining the reason for my service appt. to the advisor, I was asked if I was willing to pay for the diagnostic to be done on my F250. I stated no as my issue was based on a known recall and I showed my photos/video of the failure as proof. The advisor excuse

Death wobble at highway speeds

A Ford Dealer came on a mobile call the replace the Clock spring in the steering wheel. It was an recall NHTSA # 22V337 ------- Manufactures # 22S35 They replaced it and now nothing works on my steering wheel. Dealer came to pick up my truck and take it to the Dealership. Has not been repaired yet .

MY TRANSMISSION IS DOWNSHIFTING WHILE EXCELERATING BUT IS NOT SHOWING UP ON A RECALL LIST

On September 3, 2023, the fuel pump failed while the truck was in the corner of an on-ramp for an interstate. The truck immediately lost power while in the corner causing a loss of control of steering. This resulted in a near collision with a concrete dividing wall while attempting to maintain control of the vehicle until the vehicle came to a stop. There were no warnings, check engine lights, or other issues with the truck prior to the incident. The truck was inspected by a diesel repair company where it was determined that the Bosch CP4 fuel pump failed resulting in a catastrophic fuel system failure with metal shavings contaminating the complete fuel system. This required a complete fuel system replacement.

Trailer lights failure lights come on during travel.

The failure of the APIM has completely disabled the Rearview Backup Camera, which is a federally mandated safety feature (FMVSS No. 111). Operating a heavy-duty F-250 without a functional backup camera creates a significant blind-spot hazard and an immediate safety risk to pedestrians and property. King Ford has confirmed the failure. Service Director Jamie Churchwell has acknowledged the damage as "Consequential Damage" resulting directly from the attempted software update for Safety Recall 22S35. It is currently being reviewed by the Ford District Parts and Service Manager (as reported by the dealer) for a "Related Damage" warranty claim . The vehicle’s screen and backup camera were functioning perfectly prior to the recall service. The failure occurred at the dealership during the application of the manufacturer’s recall software update.

Vehicle goes to different gear randomly while driving will go into fifth gear when taking off first thing during first start up of the day.

Ford F250 “death wobble”. I believe there’s a recall for 2017-20?? But the recall needs to be expanded to include 2016 models. I have had this issue twice. Very very dangerous!

DEATH WOBBLE FRONT SHOCKS, STEERING DAMPNER AND NEW MICHELIN TIRES HAVE BEEN INSTALLED VEHICLE WILL SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND HAVE TO BRING SPEED DOWN TO GET BACK UNDER CONTROL.

On [XXX], I was driving westbound on [XXX], between Kerrville and Junction, Texas. I noticed a diesel fuel smell and pulled off the highway to investigate the source. Upon stopping, fire erupted from the engine compartment and quickly spread to the front dashboard and front passenger seating area. No warning lamps, no high temp or abnormal gage levels. The Mountain Home, TX volunteer fire dept arrived about 30 minutes after we called 911 and extinguished the remaining flames. They commented that a cracked / failed secondary fuel filter housing could be to blame. My insurer, State Farm, under claim #[XXX], now has possession of the vehicle remains. I told State Farm that NHTSA opened an investigation into possible fuel filter housing failures / fires. I do not know what their intentions are with the vehicle remains. The messages "DPF System Overloaded" and "Exhaust System Fault - 50 Miles Until Speed Restrict" were displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on four separate occasions. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 66,634.

We called our local Ford dealership, Matthew Ford of Pryor (Oklahoma) and made an appointment for the safety recall of replacing the clock spring. They proceeded to attempt the replacement and in the process damaged the steering column module, part no. GC3Z3F791KA. We are now being told that Ford does not have the necessary steering column module part and nobody manufactures it for our trim level, Platinum. Consequently, our truck is not able to be fixed and returned to us in the same condition it was given to the dealership. It is still at the dealership, in pieces. We dropped it off on March 27th, 2025.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2016 Ford F-250. The contact stated that the vehicle had been inoperable for some time after being purchased. While having the transmission replaced, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 203,542; however, it was discovered that the actual mileage was 372,958 during the repair.

While driving, when bumps are ran over sudden violent shaking of front end and steering wheel occur. Steering stabilizer and worn front rt 4 wheel drive universal joint replaced with problem continuing to occur.

Ford has issued a number of recalls for issues on Ford F-Super Duty (F-250) with rearview cameras in their vehicles. I am also experiencing the same issues with my 2016 Ford F-Super Duty (F-250) rearview camera that displays a blank or distorted image causing no visibility while backing up, increasing my risk of a crash. The issue, Covington Ford Inc., Service Department located at 9101 Dr Martin Luther King Ave, Covington, GA 30014 (770-786-3432) explained to me is that it is caused by a loss of electrical conductivity due to fretting corrosion on the terminal header connector inside the camera and misalignment of the connectors. I am also experiencing a full black image on the SYNC screen when placed in reverse or when the 360-degree view is selected as well. Diagnostics were completed 5/21/2025 costing me $150.00. Proof of diagnostics cost can be provided upon request. Covington Ford Inc. indicated I would need a new camera installed at a charge of $727.24 + tax not including the cost of the diagnostics. Estimated total cost of repairs including diagnostic charge would be $877.24 + tax. In addition to being a safety hazard, I use this vehicle to back up to and connect to trailers necessary for my income and need to have this repair completed.

While driving the morning of 13 Jan 2025 my Airbag sensor light on the dashboard illuminated. Shortly after that me and my wife smelled smoke in the vehicle cabin and then we heard a loud explosion and the seatbelt instantly tightened around my chest and waist. It was after I was able to stop safely and research the incident that I realized my drivers side “pretensioner” detonated while I was driving.

The truck began to suddenly shake fiercely while driving in the highway. The steering became difficult to control for about 2 or more minutes. We looked this up and it is termed the Death Wobble. Our F250 truck is a 2016. This is dangerous and needs to be Recalled for this year of F250 - 2016

Front suspension violently oscillates while driving high speeds and you hit a bump in the road. You can not do anything but hold on. The truck goes in the next lane sometimes. It is very dangerous for myself and everyone in or around my truck. This has been happening for awhile now.

Normal driving on highway. I drove over a rough section of road and the truck began shaking uncontrollably. Was able to slow down and the shaking stopped.. I've spent over $4000. 00 to fix problem. Within 6 months the issue returned. Have told Ford dealship. They will not fix problem. This is the 5th time I've reported the issue.

I bought the truck a week ago I was driving it home from went over a bridge at 70mph and it went into a violent death wobble. Luckily I have experience with death wobble from an Offroad Jeep and I was able to get to a stop. If my wife was driving it could have been a different story, or if I was hauling a trailer it may have went in the ditch.

Steering tried to lock up as I tried to turn.

The vehicle was taken to three different independent mechanics and the contact was informed that an alignment, shocks, ball joints, and the traction bar needed to be replaced. The contact researched online and discovered that the failure was related to a steering linkage damper. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had previously issued a Customer Service Program for the failure however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 249,000.

DRIVING APPOXIMATELY 50MPH AND HIT A BUMP AND THE TRUCK WENT INTO THE DEATH WOBBLE AND NARROWLY AVOIDED A ROLL OVER

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle drove over a bump in the roadway and the contact observed a loud vibrating noise, and the vehicle started shaking violently. Additionally, the steering wheel vibrated uncontrollably, making it difficult to steer the vehicle. The vehicle was slowed down, steered to the side of the road, and turned off. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and was diagnosed and determined that the track joint and damper assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 16,000.

My truck was working great until I took it in for the clock spring recall. After that my Bluetooth and my back up camera work intermittently. I took my truck back to the dealer ship about a week after the recall and said my sync was not working and they said at first it wasn't from the recall but then they took another look and said it was. The sync worked fine for about another week and then stopped again. Since then the sync goes in and out. Most of time out so I cannot do phone calls through the truck so I took it back to a new ford dealership and they said the clock spring was done correctly and its the APIM. I looked into that and saw there have been recalls on other ford cars for this problem. I'm assuming this problem is also why my back up camera goes in and out too. Sometimes just a blue screen and sometimes just black.
