2015 Ford F-250 SD

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2019 Lincoln MKC, Mustang, F-350 SD, F-250 SD, F-450 SD, 2015-2017 Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, 2015-2018 Edge, Transit Connect, 2016-2019 F-550 SD, Transit, 2017-2019 Econoline, and 2019 Ranger vehicles. The rearview camera may display a distorted, inverted, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse.

Risk. A rearview camera that displays an inverted, distorted, or blank image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 13, 2026. Ford owners will receive letters in phases, beginning January 2026 and June 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S89. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V270. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning September 8, 2025.

Defect. Icon Vehicle Dynamics, LLC (Icon) is recalling all 05-UP FSD 2.5 Centerline Stabilizer Kits with part number 65050. The kits were sold as an accessory for certain 2005-2021 Ford F-250 4X4 and F-350 4X4 pickup trucks. The foam ring inside the stabilizer "through shaft" may block the piston ports, possibly causing the steering to lock up.

Risk. If the steering locks, it can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Icon will notify owners, and dealers will install a new shock assembly with a revised foam ring and steel support disc, free of charge. The recall began December 21, 2020. Owners may contact Icon customer service at 1-951-689-4266.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015 F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks manufactured September 13, 2013, through March 28, 2014, and equipped with 6.2L gasoline or 6.7L diesel engines and 6R140 transmissions. An error with the transmission control software may be such that while shifting from "Park" to "Drive" the vehicle may display "Drive" but possibly engage "Reverse" for 1.5 seconds before engaging "Drive." Therefore, the vehicles do not conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 102, "Transmission Shift Lever Sequence, Starter Interlock, and Transmission Braking Effect."

Risk. If the vehicle is in "Reverse" while the while the gear selection shows "Drive," unexpected movement could occur, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will update the transmission software, free of charge. The recall began on May 6, 2014. Owners may contact Fords customer service at 1-800-392-3673. Ford's number for this recall is 14C04.

The Office of Defect Investigations (ODI) has received 27 complaints alleging diesel fuel leaks due to a fracture in the secondary fuel filter housing in model year (MY) 2015-2021 Ford Motor Company (Ford) F-250, 350, 450, and 550 Super Duty vehicles equipped with 6.7L diesel engines. We were on vacation driving from [XXX] to [XXX] and experienced the Death Wobble. I though we were going to die. We stopped in [XXX] and took to a dealership there and they replaced the track ball joint for $757.59. We left there and 25 miles down the road it happened again. Went to [XXX] and they kept the truck and we had to rent a truck to continue our vacation. We rent back on our way back to [XXX] and they had replaced the steering stabilizer shock for $733.53 but we were afraid to drive home so we paid for it to be transported back to [XXX]. We had to pay $1414.00 to have it transported back but at least we made it back safe. Experiencing this death wobble 11 times as a passenger has given me PTSD. Noted strange "thumping" sound in truck. Took to certified local mechanic who has worked on our vehicles since 2016. This truck has just over 117,000 miles, I am the original owner (ordered while stationed in Afghanistan) and there has never been an accident, there has been no reason for removal of the body from the frame unless the Ford dealership who repaired the missing wire harness when the truck was less than 90 days old had to remove the truck bed. Inspection of vehicle noted the bolts holding the body to the frame were missing. Vehicle is currently being repaired. The risk is the body could have come off the frame and potentially caused bodily or property damage. I contacted Ford but have not received any feedback other than the call center laughing at me for the situation. There were no warning lights on the dash nor codes given to my scanning tool by the vehicle. Mechanic stated this is the third F-Series of this generation they have seen this year with the exact same problem. Truck cannot be moved due to safety concerns, locked out/tagged out of service. Repairs will cost approximately $2,500 including time and materials.

Death wobble

Entire vehicle shakes/wobbles extremely uncontrollably going a speed around 65; have to slow to avoid an accident and put on hazards. Makes our heart stop not knowing what danger we have been put in when it occurs. Very scary and DANGEROUS to ourselves and others. Occurs with roadways involving dips, highways, ridges of bridges such as bumps or gaps, and/or differences in road, etc. This has occurred multiple times. ([XXX]) was another episode. The electical system seems to have a bad connection. This can sometimes be triggered when releasing the parking brake. Most often the issue occurs when driving where all gauges go offline and numerous errors are thrown on the display. Most times you can reconcile the issue by wiggling the wiring harness under the stearing wheel located near the parking brake. This vehicle has not been inspected. I have talked to local repair shops and they have verbally quoted prices too high to trace it down. It does not seem to be temperature related. Unplugging the wiring harnesses and plugging them back in does seem to help for a short period of time. This has occurred over 30 times in the past 2 years. The truck has less than 40,000 miles on it. The truck will not start when it is having this issue but thankfully will continue to run if already started.

At about 65-70 MPH, upon hitting an mildly rough spot on highway, my 2015 F250 started shaking violently: i.e better known as the Ford "Death Wobble."

The investigation into the F-150 sudden transmission Downshifts into a lower gear at highway speeds needs to be expanded and also include F-250 6.7 L diesel. It has happened in my F-250 twice while traveling on the interstate at highway speeds, down shifts from gear 6 to gear 3. VERY DANGEROUS

Experienced the so called “death wobble”.

The upper fuel filter plastic housing cracks and leaks fuel on hot parts and has produced fires on other vehicles, not this one. I have had this replaced twice in the past, this will be the third time. There are no warning lamps or other warnings. Only the smell of fuel.

Death wobble - on numerous occasions we have experienced the death wobble on our vehicle. We have complained to several dealers and done their recommended repairs. We have even purchased new high end tires as recommended with no resolution. We are unable to haul our RV out of fear of an accident. It has occurred at high speeds on the highway and at lower speeds on roads. This is very scary when it occurs. Coming to a full stop in a one lane HOV lane is not only dangerous for us but also dangerous for those traveling behind us. This has been occurring for years with the most recent occurrence this week. After researching we discovered this route to file a complaint.

Lethal death wobble , could have easily crashed on the interstate without having both hands on the wheel. This is insane, had the front track bar and front steering stabilizer replaced, still no fix.

While driving on interstate highway I hit a bump and the front end began to wobble until I could brake and stop I took it to my front end shop and spent ~ $2K Next trip after repair had same problem when I hit a bump. After two more returns to the same shop and almost all parts replaced the truck did it again last week This continued wobble could be deadly and needs to be fixed. I plan to call ford but cannot believe this is not a recall issue

I experienced what I now have come to understand is called the death wobble. It was terrifying and I was going about 60 mph on an interstate that was under construction. I hit minor bumps and the whole truck began to wobble back-and-forth violently. it would not stop until I came down to about 15 miles an hour, after that steering felt loose. I thought I was going to die. The incident chewed up my tires with pock marks everywhere.

My f250 super duty just completely stopped running while driving down the interstate, i then had the vehicle towed to the ford dealer where i purchased it in 2015. after the shop examination they found that the high pressure cp4 fuel pump had came apart and contaminated the fuel system entirely. The shop forman called and advised me of the problem and that it would cost 16,000.00 to have it fixed. he also advised me the this was a ongoing problem that they have had with this particular fuel pump, and that they had recall on the trucks from 2011 to 2018 for this. but he told me that my vin number was not on the recall list. he said that i would have to pay out of pocket to have the repairs done. I THEN CONTACTED FORD MANUFACTORING about this, the service lady that i spoke to said that there was nothing they could do because my truck was not on the recall list. To me this is a big safety measure, because when it quit, if i haven't been in an area where i was able to get out off the road there could have been a very serious accident. i feel that an issue like this that ford knows they have and continue using the same pumps should be there responsibility. I had know visible or any warnings sign of this was going to happen. this truck i purchased new and have put every mile on it and had this truck service very regularly. i have all the service records, just had the fuel filters and oil changed about 2 weeks before this happened. Truck has started dropping into 1st gear and losing speed with no warning. Has happened at low and high speeds.

Consistent oil leaks. The cars are manufactured poorly and this is a horrible but common issue that Ford has yet to come up with a fix.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shuddered and hydroplaned. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not under recall and was out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.

Today my 2015 Ford F250 SD experienced the aptly named Ford “Death Wobble”. It occurred twice today after just having the whole front end rebuilt for the same issue just weeks ago. My truck shakes so violently I am concerned for my safety and that of my wife. To stop the shaking I have to slow to 30 mph or less, typically on the highway where all other vehicles are traveling at 65+. The truck now sits at a dealership waiting for repair. The service writer states parts that were replaced two - three weeks ago are “shot”. How can this be? Ford F250’s have this as a known problem with no real fix. Just keep throwing parts at it with no resolve. I had the truck worked on in July ‘23, May ‘24 and now. I am invested heavily in this truck and have now had to replace parts multiple times because some design flaw keeps wearing them out. I’d love to see some sort of recall that forces some sort of redesign and real repair.

The contact stated while driving at approximately 30 MPH and various speeds, the vehicle rolled over a dip in the road the truck bed shifted, and the vehicle jerked to the right or the left. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the bushings on the suspension needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 176,000.

I was driving on the Freeway, 65 mph, all of sudden, the steering and truck started to shake violently, lost control of the steering wheel, due to the severe shaking, caused traffic behind me to stop suddenly as they noticed something major was going on. It felt like as if I had 4 flat tires, and it felt like a strong earthquake. I had to reduce speed to 10 mph per hour, it stopped shaking and exited the freeway, Never experience anything like this before.

When I drive over 50 miles an hour and I hit a small bump, the front end of my truck shakes violently. I also lose control of the truck.

I experienced the “Ford Death Wobble” when on the highway at 70 MPH. It has happened three times now. It didn’t stop until I pulled off the road and stopped. It was an unsafe situation trying to get across three lanes of traffic and stop in the shoulder of the road. I did not loose control of the truck but it was close to being uncontrollable. From what I’ve read, this needs to be a Recalled item!!
