Defect. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and GMC Sierra 2500 vehicles equipped with the enhanced towing option and 20-inch accessory tire/wheel package. The tire information label may state the incorrect rear tire pressure, resulting in underinflated tires and preventing the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) from displaying a low tire pressure warning.

Risk. Driving with underinflated tires can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect, update the engine control module (ECM) software, apply a tire label overlay, inflate tires to the correct pressure, and perform a tire pressure monitor system (TPMS) re-learn process as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 28, 2026. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. The contact's husband owned a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 54 MPH, the steering wheel jerked to the left and sent the vehicle over onto the opposite side of the road, where the vehicle struck a steel electric pole. The contact stated that the two front and two side air bags deployed. The Police Department, Sheriff's Office, and the Fire Department were called, and the firemen used the jaws of life to extract the contact's husband from the vehicle. A Police report was filed. Medical attention was needed, and the contact's husband was taken by ambulance and then airlifted to a hospital. The contact's husband sustained a compound fracture to the left forearm, a fractured pelvic bone, fractures to the C5, C6, and C7 in the neck, a fractured first rib, a spine injury, and a left knee injury. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where the vehicle was deemed a total loss. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 18,400.

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that after turning off the vehicle with a trailer hitched to the vehicle, the trailer brake lights failed to turn off. The contact disconnected the trailer from the vehicle for the trailer brake lights to turn off. Additionally, the electric trailer brakes and turn signals intermittently failed to function properly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer could not determine where the wiring harness 120-Volt power was going and was unable to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

Due to the Fuel Pump Power Control Module (Part number 13554821) failure, my vehicle stalled in the middle of a turn while pulling a 10,000 pound RV. This caused me to lose both power steering and braking capabilities. From what I gather, this part is part of a "phased" initiative recall (see N252516900 Fuel Pump Power Control Module). This part was seemingly installed in all or most of GM SUVs and Trucks since 2021. Unfortunately, only some 2021-2023 models are under recall due to the "phased" nature of this recall. Meanwhile, all Heavy Duty trucks are driving around on our roadways, highways, and interstates, just like I was, towing heavy machinery, equipment, and RVs because both you and GM are dragging your feet on demanding these flawed modules be removed from these vehicles. In summation, virtually every GM SUV and truck on the road produced since 2021 is a ticking time bomb that could stall at any moment and disable both power steering and braking capability. If thats not bad enough, concerned owners, such as myself, are stonewalled with the words "there is no active recall on your vehicle " both by GM and your very website. The "phased" nature of this recall is unacceptable and is putting lives at risk. Had I been traveling at highway speeds when this failure occurred, while towing a heavy load, with braking traffic in front of me or a sharp turn, I would not have been able to stop or turn. This is an urgent matter and should be addressed accordingly, not in a "phased

First started around 4 to 6000 miles, felt a shuttering between 50 and 65 mph. Shattering lasted from 10 to maybe 30 seconds let off the fuel and reapplied still there on one or two occasions. RPMs were approximately 2000 RPM shattering stopped in our PMs went down to 1500. This is occurred many times taken to a dealership always get same result, no problem found. Problem always occurs just after a transmission shift which I can tell by RPM. When I apply gas shuttering sometimes increases not always. Also noticed that sometimes shifting on a flat surface 65 miles an hour engine will speed up to almost 2000 RPM and when it goes to shift back, I get a clunk or sometimes a shutter normal cruising is about 1500 RPM at 65 mile an hour. I didn’t notice towing an empty trailer about 2600 pounds shattering seemed worse. With no Trailer I sometimes get erratic shifting where RPM goes 1500 to 2000 to 2500 and then back down again then back up again then it can shift all the way back to 1500 RPM still maintaining 65 mph. Also another problem may be connected to transmission, but I have pulled out into traffic pushed on the pedal and it feels like the truck has no power push on the pedal a little bit more still no power and all of a sudden it’s like everything kicks in RPMs, increase rapidly and truck accelerates extremely fast, throwing things off the dash moving things on the floorboard. Sometimes I see that a downshift occurs and RPMs increase other times I see RPM staying right at th

Within 3min truck was fully engulfed totally gone. God forbid I was alone but even at that I did not have time to get many things out and keep imagining what a different day I’d be looking at if there were kids with me.

In May 2026, my vehicle began exhibiting serious and dangerous problems. It would shake violently after starting and occasionally stop on its own while driving. On [XXX], my wife and I got into the vehicle and started driving from our home in West Virginia. While driving uphill at approximately 30 mph, the vehicle suddenly began shaking severely and then came to a complete stop. After a few moments, it restarted itself and accelerated to about 30–40 mph while continuing to shake violently. This happened several times during the trip. Fuel consumption also became extremely abnormal, dropping to approximately 6 miles per gallon. Because Team One Chevrolet in Oakland, Maryland, is the nearest dealer, we drove there for service. After several hours, the dealer returned the vehicle and informed us that they had replaced a sensor. However, after leaving the dealership, the Check Engine light came on again after only three engine starts. I immediately returned to the dealership, where the warning light was cleared. The following day, the Check Engine light returned. When I contacted the dealership, I was told to continue driving the vehicle with the warning light on for one to two weeks. After more than a week, I returned to the dealership, and the light was reset again. A few days later, the same problem reappeared. At that point, I was informed that, according to dealership procedures, replacement parts could not be ordered until the issue had been reported three times. After the

Transmission Control Valve failed causing my vehicle to drop from 70 miles per hour below 40 miles per hour rapidly on the highway/interstate which could have caused a fatal crash. Called OnStar and was told my code showing was P0747 meaning service now. I called dealerships to get an appt next morning and this happened in the evening and was told the soonest I could get in was a week away, most was longer than that. I did worked in and was told my TCV needed to be replaced. I was told this is a common problem with this truck but when I contacted GM they told me they could only do a 30% courtesy discount because my 2400 Chevy Silverado 2500HD already had 83,000 miles on it and is out of warranty. I have researched this and NHTSA already has a bulletin in place for this same issue but it didn’t include my VIN so they told me there was nothing more than can be done. This is a huge safety risk and concern. My daughter and wife could have been driving my truck and it could have caused a very bad wreck. My vehicle had no prior warning until this happened. My vehicle did say reduced engine performance and my check engine light came on during the event but nothing prior. Now my truck shifts hard and gets hot fast. We opted not to drive and took it to a local dealership for repair due to the risk of injury if we continued to drive it to us and others. We are not put out a vehicle and monthly payment as the part is on back order. GM pretty much is brushing us off and told us we can fi

No warning light illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the headlight control module needed to be updated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and they referred him to call NHTSA to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 61,000.

On or about March 14, 2026 vehicle in question stopped working, losing all power and gave a message that the vehicle was over heating and to turn off immediately. A large amount of steam emitted through the coolant reservoir that was a mixture of oil and coolant. Vehicle was towed to a manufacturer service location. The oil/coolant system ruptured damaging the radiator, thermostat, hoses and related parts. Vehicle with low mileage/hours was consuming engine oil at what one would consider a greater rate. ( 1 quart every other day). Our organization is aware that the diesel model of this truck had a recall for a oil/cooling system issue and we believe the same liability may lay with the gas version. Mileage was approximately 13,000 at time of breakdown.

While driving the vehicle, the vehicle jolted and made a clunk noise. The check engine light came on accompanied by a message on the Dash stating "Reduce acceleration, Drive with Care". The vehicle went into "limp mode", and appeared to be engaged in a single gear. The vehicle was traveling at approximately 30 mph when the transmission malfunctioned. The vehicle was taken to my local Chevy dealer, where they scanned the vehicle and determined that the Valve Body was the issue, based on the scan result. The vehicle is a 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500HD (Gas). It has 29k miles on it. The vehicle was purchased as a "certified Pre-owned" (lease return). Within 20 miles of being driven from the dealer after purchase, I experienced a jolt & clunk. The failure occured 42 miles later.

While driving in heavy interstate traffic on March 18, 2026, the vehicle suddenly downshifted hard to 2nd gear, locking the rear wheels and causing the vehicle to slide out of my lane. The truck then entered limp mode and appeared to be stuck in 2nd gear. I immediately called my chevy dealer to make an appointment to drop the truck off. While researching, I found there was a recall for the same vehicle symptoms, but my truck falls outside of the recall. The truck is currently at the dealership for a valve body replacement, due to a KNOWN issue with the Allision transmission where TSB's have been issued. Chevrolet should be more proactive and recall the trucks, and replace the transmissions instead of a bandaid fix, before someone with less driving awareness/experience is involved in an accident

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that on two occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle went into LIMP Mode with an audible chime, and several undisclosed messages displayed on the instrument panel. Due to the failure, the vehicle was turned off, and the battery terminals were disconnected for several minutes before being reconnected. The vehicle resumed to normal functionality and the warning lights independently turned off after driving for a while. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who discovered several diagnostic trouble codes associated with the transmission control module. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

My 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Bison ZR2 (VIN [XXX] ) suddenly lost all power steering, acceleration, and propulsion while driving my children to school at approximately 8:00 AM on March 16, 2026. The truck came to a complete stop with no warning lights or prior indication. This matches the exact ‘critical issue with the engine and transmission system’ alert I received from OnStar Advanced Diagnostics the same morning. Steering was completely unresponsive and I had no acceleration. My children were passengers — this was extremely dangerous. I have not driven the vehicle since and have requested towing to the dealer. Please investigate under any open probes into 2024 Silverado HD power-loss and steering failures. While accelerating to merge onto the highway, the transmission attempted a shift twice and could not complete the shift. That process causes an aggressive deceleration with each shift attempt. It then slowed, turned on the check engine light and displayed "Reduced Power Mode" - i.e. went into limp mode. The dealer pulled code P0747. The repair is a full transmission rebuild. I did not experience wheel lock up like other people have, but this is the same problem that has been heavily documented.

When driving, between the speeds of 40-50mph, the wheels would lock up without warning. This happened 4 times during the month of January, sometimes in 4wd. This occurred at speed when the vehicle seemed to be upshifting. Control of the vehicle would be lost during the lockup as the wheels would stop rotation entirely and rather violently. Check engine light came on after the 4th incident, reducing power and a code of P0747 "Pressure Control Solenoid "A" Stuck On". The transmission valve body was repaired by the local Chevrolet dealership under powertrain warranty. This is a known issue on previous years of this truck with the same transmission but has not been expanded to cover this vehicle. Thankfully, I was able to maintain contorol and was not in traffic when this occurred. I notified the dealer that the vehicle was shifting very hard during the last visit but no codes or issues were found at that time indicating an issue.

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle entered LIMP Mode. During the failure, the transmission became stuck in 5th gear, and the vehicle operated at reduced speeds. The vehicle was turned off but failed to immediately restart. After approximately 15 minutes, the vehicle restarted, and the failure was self-corrected. The failures had occurred while hauling a heavy load and while not carrying a load. The message "Decreased Acceleration" was displayed, and the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The transmission fluid was flushed and refilled, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 54,000.

My husband and I were driving his Chevy Silverado with our two dogs in the back. Without any warning or any alert, our vehicle came to a complete stop in the middle lane on a three lane highway. Not a slow stop where there was any time. I’m confirming immediate. At that time, the vehicle would not move at all for almost 5 minutes. As we sat there praying to God that we wouldn’t die as tractor trailers and other vehicles came flying past missing us by inches. It’s truly a miracle that no one was killed. He put truck in neutral and pressed start button and was not able to go any faster then 5 mph and once again a miracle we were able to make it to shoulder of highway without being hit. The vehicle was shaking excessively and flashing things like emissions, traction, as our videos and pictures will show when we made it to side of highway. This is a disgrace that any vehicle would ever be manufactured with this outcome. I am deeply grateful that my husband and I and our two dogs are alive and not injured but this should NEVER happen again.

No unusual pattern of severe incidents in the complaint record.

Complaint counts track how many cars were sold and how long they have been on the road as much as they track quality. A common model from 2013 has had a decade to accumulate reports; a rare one from last year has not. The signal worth weighing is in the severity columns, in whether the same component keeps appearing, and in whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.

Recall repairs are free for as long as the recall stands. Check whether a specific car still has open work at NHTSA's VIN lookup.
