Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Impala vehicles manufactured April 15, 2013, to June 19, 2015, equipped with front vented-heated passenger seats. Accordingly, the Automatic Occupant Sensing (AOS) system may fail to suppress the front passenger air bag if a child seat is in the front passenger seat. These vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Risk. If the front passenger air bag deploys with a child seat in the front passenger seat, it increases the risk of injury to the child.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will correct the calibration-learning error by preconditioning the empty seat, and also resetting the ECU to a seat zero-value, free of charge. The recall began on August 25, 2015. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 15400.

Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014 Chevrolet Impala vehicles manufactured March 22, 2013, to May 22, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the electronic parking brake piston actuation arm may not fully retract causing the brake pads to stay partially engaged. Thus, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Systems (FMVSS) No. 135 "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

Risk. Brake pads that remain partially engaged with the rotors may cause excessive brake heat that may result in a fire.

Remedy. GM has notified owners, and dealers will reprogram the electronic parking brake control module with new software, free of charge. The recall began on May 6, 2015. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 15259. Note: The vehicles covered by this campaign were previously remedied incorrectly under campaigns 14V541 or 15V085.

In the affected vehicles, the electronic parking brake piston actuation arm may not fully retract causing the brake pads to stay partially engaged. Thus, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Systems (FMVSS) No. 135 "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

Risk. Brake pads that remain partially engaged with the rotors may cause excessive brake heat that may result in a fire.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the electronic parking brake control module with new software, free of charge. The recall began March 5, 2015. Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Cadillac CTS, Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon, and Yukon XL, and 2014 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Express, Impala, Silverado HD, Traverse, GMC Acadia, Savana, and Sierra HD vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the chassis electronic module may be internally contaminated, resulting in an electrical short.

Risk. If the module experiences an electrical short, the vehicle could stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the chassis electronic module, free of charge. The recall began on December 26, 2014. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-521-7300 (Buick), 1-800-458-006 (Cadillac), 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), and 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). GM’s number for this recall is 14515.

In the affected vehicles, the electronic parking brake piston actuation arm may not fully retract causing the brake pads to stay partially engaged.

Risk. Brake pads that remain partially engaged with the rotors may cause excessive brake heat that may result in a fire.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the electronic parking brake software, free of charge. The recall began on October 28, 2014. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is 14471.

Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Cadillac XTS vehicles manufactured April 11, 2013, to June 27, 2013, and 2014 Chevrolet Impala vehicles manufactured May 13, 2013, to November 5, 2013. The affected vehicles may have left the factory with the sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) set to "manufacturing mode."

Risk. In manufacturing mode, the vehicle's air bags will not deploy in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of occupant injury.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers are to reprogram the SDM to the correct mode, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in September 2014. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 14532.

Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Impala vehicles manufactured May 7, 2014, to July 28, 2014. In the event of an accident, the center storage console may not stay latched. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 201, "Occupant Protection In Interior Impact."

Risk. The storage compartment door may not remain closed in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of occupant injury.

Remedy. Parts to remedy this condition are not currently available. GM will send owners an interim notification in early October 2014, and will send a second letter when parts are available. At that time dealers will inspect, and if necessary, replace the console storage compartment door inertia latch, free of charge. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 14476.

Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014 Chevrolet Impala vehicles manufactured November 5, 2012, to December 20, 2013. Due to a poor electrical ground connection to the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM), the affected vehicles may have a loss of power steering assist during start up or while driving.

Risk. If power steering assist is lost, greater driver effort would be required to steer the vehicle at low speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will clean paint from behind the ground stud nut and update the PSCM software, free of charge. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. The recall began on August 21, 2014. GM's number for this recall is 14330.

Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014 Buick Regal, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Camaro and Chevrolet Impala vehicles. Improperly torqued fasteners may cause the steering intermediate shaft and the steering gear and/or the lower control arm and the lower ball joint to separate.

Risk. If any of the components separate, the vehicle may have a loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. GM began to notify owners on June 27, 2014, and dealers will inspect the fasteners for correct torque, correcting them as necessary, free of charge. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-521-7300 (Buick), 1-800-458-8006 (Cadillac) or 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet). GM's number for this recall is 14378.

Defect. This defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2005-2009 Buick LaCrosse, 2006-2011 Buick Lucerne, 2000-2005 Cadillac DeVille, 2006-2011 Cadillac DTS, 2006-2014 Chevrolet Impala, and 2006-2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the weight on the key ring and road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine.

Risk. If the key is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy if the vehicle is involved in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, a key knocked out of the run position will cause loss of engine power, power steering, and power braking, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will install two key rings and an insert in the key slot or a cover over the key head on all ignition keys, free of charge. The recall began on September 23, 2014. Owners may contact General Motors customer service at 1-800-521-7300 (Buick), 1-800-458-8006 (Cadillac), and 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet). GM's number for this recall is 14299.

Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014 Buick Regal, LaCrosse, Verano, and Enclave, and Chevrolet Impala, Malibu, Cruze, and Traverse, and GMC Acadia vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions. In the affected vehicles, the transmission shift cable adjuster may disengage from the transmission shift lever. As such, these vehicles do not conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 102, "Transmission Shift Lever Sequence, Starter Interlock, and Transmission Braking Effect." They also fail to conform to FMVSS number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."

Risk. If a vehicle's shift cable disengages from the transmission shift lever, a driver may be unable to shift gear positions and the indicated shift position may not represent the gear position the vehicle is in. Should a disengagement occur while the vehicle is being driven, when the driver goes to stop and park the vehicle, the driver may be able to shift the lever to the "PARK" position, but the vehicle transmission may not be in the "PARK" gear position. If the vehicle is not in the "PARK" position there is a risk the vehicle will roll away as the driver and other occupants exit the vehicle or anytime thereafter. A vehicle rollaway increases the risk of injury to exiting occupants and bystanders.

Remedy. General Motors will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace any affected transmission shift cable adjusters, free of charge. The recall began on April 10, 2014. Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013 Cadillac ATS and model year 2013 Cadillac XTS; model year 2014 Chevrolet Impala; and 2013 Chevrolet Sonic vehicles. Originally, in May 2013, GM recalled 1,627 model year 2013 Cadillac ATS and model year 2013 Cadillac XTS; and model year 2014 Chevrolet Impala vehicles. In October 2013, GM informed the agency that it was adding model year 2013 Chevrolet Sonic vehicles to this campaign , representing an additional 8,050 units. The total number of vehicles being recalled is now 9,677. On the affected vehicles, the brake lamps may intermittently flash without the brakes being applied and the cruise control may disengage. Thus, these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, "Lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."

Risk. If the brake lamps flash when the vehicle is not slowing, a following driver may not adjust vehicle speed when the vehicle is in fact braking, and the brake lamps are illuminating as intended, increasing the risk of a crash.

Cars trunk randomly pops open , it's a safety issue because something can fall out my trunk and cause other car an accident. will have an appointment to inspect soon. since I just got this car june 2026 and the first time it randomly popped open was back in August, it's October and I woke up to another random trunk opened incident.

The lighting is unsafe at night, the light does not light up the road so you can safely see what is is front of you, ITs a major design flaw in the light housing, upgraded to a brighter bulb does not help.

While driving my 2014 Chevrolet Impala Limited Police vehicle, VIN [XXX], the engine unexpectedly shut off. The check engine light illuminated and the vehicle subsequently would crank but would not start normally. A diagnostic scan produced code P069E, Fuel Pump Control Module Requested MIL Illumination. After the failure, the vehicle would crank without starting using the normal ignition. The vehicle was towed home. I attempted to start vehicle using the factory remote-start system. It started as normal with the remote-start system, but shut off after a few minutes. I am reporting this because an unexpected engine shutdown while the vehicle is in motion created a safety risk due to the sudden loss of engine power while driving. I found GM service information addressing P069E and fuel pump control-related conditions on 2014 Chevrolet Impala Limited vehicles, including GM bulletin PI1082. However, this VIN does not appear to be included in a recall or repair campaign for this condition. I am requesting that NHTSA document and evaluate this incident, including whether similar engine-stall, no-start, fuel pump control module, or P069E complaints have been reported for 2014 Chevrolet Impala Limited vehicles outside any previously identified vehicle population. The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the Stabili-Trak warning light illuminated and the vehicle lost power steering functionality, causing the steering to become extremely firm. The contact stated that excessive force was needed to turn the steering wheel. The contact safely pulled over, and after the audible alarm ceased, the vehicle returned to normal operation. Additionally, the vehicle lost electrical power and stalled on several occasions. There was no warning light illuminated. While the vehicle was stationary, the vehicle frequently lost power. The contact stated that the battery terminals were disconnected and reconnected after the failure, and the vehicle operated for approximately 15 minutes before the vehicle stalled again. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The local dealer had inspected the vehicle and confirmed the failure. The dealer had retrieved several unknown fault codes. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed.

While driving, the car steering became very hard and uncontrollable posing a risk to me and other drivers on the road. A mechanic has checked.

I have a 2014 Impala limited I started having problems within 6 months after I bought the vehicle from Bergstrom Chevrolet in Wisconsin it was involving the ABS anti-lock stability track and traction control and the braking and steering we're all feeling and locking up while I was driving it presented and problems and endangering my life and the life of any passengers in the vehicle the brakes will lock up and there was no warning before I locked up no lights came on and it would pull to the left or pull to the right depending on which ABS was locking up and it was fixed one time at the dealership then it was fixed again at the dealership later maybe about another 3 to 6 months after and went up for the same thing again and the parts were replaced now I again have had nothing but problems with the braking system. Also the valve that controls the pressure in the fuel tank malfunctioned which caused the car to run irrraticaly it would start hard,stop running at all stops rough ideling and unable to pump gas into the car without the gas pump stopping continuously making the time that it would take to fill the gas tank 3 to 4 times longer than it did that was fixed and it is malfunctioning again. I'm on my fourth time of having my car anti-lock brake system failing on my car multiple systems including the electrical system failing. The dash lights would go off on. An Independent mechanic was contacted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V092000 (POWER TRAIN); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 125,000.

I previously owned a 2011 Buick Regal and now have a 2014 Chevy Impala. Both vehicles have had a Stabilitrack warning come up. Both vehicles experienced the same issue. The car seemed to jerk, lag in speed, cannot accelerate over 40mph. The Regal was diagnosed with an electrical/wiring issue. The Impala was diagnosed with a failed Transmission Control Module. We now have a 2016 Impala and the same issue and warning lights have appeared. That’s 3 vehicles we’ve owned from GMC with the exact same issue. This can’t be a coincidence and should be looked into. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of more consumers on forums experiencing the exact same issue. This should be recalled! Imagine the possibilities of danger this can cause when on the interstate and can’t accelerate over 40mph.

On 11/20/2024, the Chevrolet dealership diagnosed the problem as a short in the passenger presence sensor airbag module under the passenger seat. For more than a year, the airbag warning light has almost always been on. On just a few occasions in the past year or two, the airbag light has turned off, usually corresponding with a change in the humidity. I understand that there was a recall for this very same (moisture-related) airbag problem in other GM vehicles some years ago. I think we have the exact same problem here, and that my car should be included in the recall. Note well, this year there was an airbag recall covering a 2007 Nissan Versa, a much older car. It seems that airbag recalls can apply to cars 18 years old.

I was in a car accident and the airbags did not deploy

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel failed to turn in the intended direction. Additionally, the message "Power Steering Failure" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that electric power steering control module(PSCM) had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. An unknown dealer was made aware of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The contact related the failure to an unknown recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,500.

Very loud abnormal ticking sound coming from the vehicle, failed actuators. Resulting in hvac loss. Arecall issued in 2014 for stabilitrak /abs for bad grounds on 2014 Chevy Impalas. HOWEVER 2.5 and 3.6 L engines were not included, BUT NEED TO BE!!! the car will drive rough and eventually just cut off in the middle of traffic highway or residential. This is what it did on me, putting me in a very dangerous position with my 5 year old in the car. This issue is effecting thousands of the same vehicles and GM's failure to address this issue is leaving the owners of the affected vehicles driving unsafe vehicles. GM / Chevy needs to issue a recall on ALLL the 2014 Impalas. (which they will not confirm or deny). While I was driving 60mph on an interstate my car notification screen displayed "service stabilitrak"/ "engine power reduced"... then my car acceleration seemed to have died and car slowed all the way down to around 20 mph with the gas pedal diwn to the floor... a big semi truck was behind me and had to break and swerve around me while blowing his horn...I was nearly killed.

The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the power steering, service stabili-trak, and the check engine warning lights illuminated, and the steering wheel seized briefly. The contact stated that shortly after the failure, the steering wheel unlocked, and the contact was able to continue driving safely. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the rack and pinion had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 180,000.

Sunshade failure. The sunshade runs back and forth on track to close or open cloth cover. While driving with 4 main windows I pushed button to open shade halfway down the line the shade got off track and you could hear plastic cracking noises. I stopped the shade and pushed it closed more cracking noises and the the whole cloth fell and hung blocking all rear view while on freeway at normal speed. I was able to pull over and slowly push and assist cloth back into car frame so it's not hanging but it no longer works as intended. This is known and per dealership ove 1k for new track and requires moonroof removal to repair. Not covered under warranty

I have push to start car. On my lunch i starting my car and I immediately notice the rpm went to 2500, which is high and it went up to 3000 and then the warning light flashed stability track error and check engine and swerving light I took a pic. I turn car off and wait a few min turned car back on and it was fine. No errors drove to get lunch and back no issues. Then on leaving work s ame thing happened but the error didn't go away. I was able to shift out of gear. Hard knocking, gear shifter light all white no clue what gear it was in I moved to another parking spot but was slow moving very delayed. Parked and now waiting for tow truck

I received an alert to service the sideview sensors. Also, the sideview alert keeps flashing in the side mirrors even when there's no vehicle present.

Side detection system failure. I have had 3 harness replacements on driver side. 2 harness replacements on passenger side, and a module replacement just 2 years ago. This failure causes my instrumentation to shut off, turn signals not work, and shuts off cruise control when in use. I have read outher more extreme cases like engine compartment fires or car shutting off while driving. I believe all these should be considered safety issues. I have owned this vehicle since new.

My back window exploded. The defrost system blew up while driving it's Brown burned marks in my window where the defrost runs

Passenger rear seat belt not locking. Cannot install car seat with that seat belt nor is it safe to ride in that seat.

UNKNOWN but I believe the sealed transmission is malfunctioning

The brakes continue to malfunction I am unsure if a previous recall was fixed properly or not the Chasis electrical system has been fixed with electrical tape only the transmission and stability track and anti lock brake system error light with go off from time to time when it does and the more it’s driven the worse the issues get these are all recalls and the problems still persist are we confident that the recalls have been corrected

When at a stop and turning left it makes a grinding noise with hesitation in movement. The ABS and traction control light comes on. When researching this, there are millions of these cars with the same thing. I have taken to 3 mechanics and no one can fix the problem.

The side detection module has just failed out for the second time in under 2 years, 20k miles on my 2014 Impala LTZ. The first time it failed (less than two years ago), the side detection indicator on the mirrors started to go off randomly, and then eventually, I was unable to reliably lock/unlock my car. Eventually, it wouldn't even start/shut off (Push to start), and the entire dash was off even when running. It messed with seemingly the entire car's electrical system, and made it unsafe to drive (imagine if I would've been on the highway and the car shut down, plus I didn't have any gauges at all). As stated, this system (and side detection module specifically), has corroded and gone out again, despite this module supposedly being better sealed. I had a GM dealership replace the entire system with their kit, which was out of their specialty 80k mile warranty for this system, as they realize it is flawed but refuses to recall it. This kit was approximately $1000 installed, and I am again looking at the same price for a flawed system that GM is totally aware of and one that has safety implications and makes the vehicle undrivable.

My blind spot detectors went out, now as a result most of the electrical stuff no longer works. The car powers on and drains the battery randomly and the speedometer doesn’t work. Every light comes on from front camera, abs, and even power steering. I didn’t feel safe taking my kids to school and now I don’t feel I should pay $1,300 out of pocket.

Every year the side sensor goes bad.. This causes vehicle to loose important factors while driving. Headlight go off and on. Speed goes to 0, all codes flashing, gas and ram gone. Car also locks and unlocks randomly along with no heat or air.. This has happened twice even after fuse is pulled while waiting on yet another $1000 repair. This is so very unsafe. Car needs to be removed from roads or side sensor part coverd.

I was driving to doctors appointment Friday . (03-15-2024) In another area then where I live .)And my steering tightened up a bit . I was able to turn it and park . I went in for my doctor appointment and came back out and steering wheel completely locked! I had to get It towed to my mother's home in the same area . So now I'm stranded . I had a mobile mechanic come look at it and he hooked it up to the machine and it said the ground wire needs fixed . It could have been a bad situation if I had got on the interstate. I see there was a recall on it. But I've been told that got fixed on impalas a few years ago . I've had my car 2 years . So never knew about a recall .

Started the car radio was black a/c compartment wasn’t lit then power steering fluid drive with care message appears

Back windshield exploded/shattered d/t short in defroster. This is the THIRD time this has happened in 5 years, first 2 times were in 2019.

Messages for “service side detection system” and “service rear vision system” appear web vehicle is turned on. Side detection system as well as backup camera are both non functional. GM knows about this issue and had a recall/ warranty repair program. however I was never notified to bring my vehicle in to have this repair done, and now I believe it is past the date that was set to have repairs covered. Will be contacting GM to have these things potentially fixed.

Module kit needs replaced due to water getting in it... had been replaced less than 5 years ago.

Additionally, the front-passenger seat's safety-belt warning light and chime may turn on when the passenger seat is not occupied and the seatbelt is not buckled. If the vehicle is involved in a crash that causes the front-passenger airbag to deploy and an infant is in the front-passenger seat, the airbag deployment may injure the child.

My vehicle is exhibiting the exact systems outlined in NHTSA bulletin PI0924B: Some customers may comment on unwanted opening of the trunk without pressing any of the release buttons while the vehicle is parked. Although the trunk is unlatched while parked, the owner may not observe the trunk open until they begin to drive the vehicle. This may also be accompanied with a “Trunk Open” message in the DIC. This condition may be caused by the trunk release button on the remote transmitter being pressed inadvertently while the transmitter is in their pocket or purse.
