2014 Chevrolet Impala complaints

Bad wiring harnesses causing brakes and antilock brakes to throw codes and fail. Abs and stable track fail and also cause car to suddenly go to low engine power mode while driving down highway. Replaced nearly every brake component plus vehicle computers and abs modules. Vehicle now throwing new codes serious at random. Main pcm computer replaced twice. Abs, brake booster, abs modular, master cylinder, 4 calipers, hoses, abs module and abs valve assembly all these components replaced twice at least. Vehicle was not a flood car.

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that the side detection sensors that illuminate on the rear-view mirror failed to function as intended. The contact stated there was a special customer program released however they had missed the expiration date by one month. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who confirmed that the side detection sensor, modules and wire harnesses needed to be replaced. The contact later found that the wiring harness associated with this system was prone to corrosion and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however the failure continued to occur intermittently. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 44, 786.

Side Detection Modules failed due to water intrusion. Verified by Lynch Chevrolet Mukwonago Wi Service Dept. No warnings. Just system failed Chevy will not replace under previous service bulletin. Want me to pay for full replacement.

While driving on straight paved road, service steering system light came on and lost power steering assist. Was able to get home with a lot of effort.

51,000 miles. System has failed three times. first two covered by Warranty. Not under warranty now. There are numerous complaints about this problem. It will now cost me up to two thousand to repair. car is at risk of fire,failure to start and other major electrical problems. Dealer wants $140 to diagnose, I am afraid to drive this car.

At about 86,000 miles I began getting a grinding noise from the left front side the wheel seems to lock up associated with a grabbing that I can feel when turning the steering wheel to the left. When this happens the Service Stability Trac and Service Trac Control indicators sometime appear but not always. I took my car to a GM Dealer locally a diagnostic performed said it was wheel hub assembly (bearings). Due to cost of dealer labor I took car to my local mechanic at his private garage. He performed a diagnostic and confirmed the assembly should be replaced. The assembly was replaced at my cost and has since been replaced twice more as warranty replacement because the mechanic thought the assemblies may have been defective, this after only a couple thousand miles or so on the replaced assembly. Typically, it happens at low speed, and mostly when turning left. It becomes a problem when I'm driving in busy traffic and turning at an intersection because it will just lock up and not let me go, stopping me in the middle of the intersection subjecting me to the possibility of being crashed into by other drivers. It is very frightening when this happens.

While driving, I lost steering. My stabilitrac sensor came in. I had OnStar run a diagnostic in the car and they confirmed it was the stabilitrac.

The contact stated that while operating the vehicle in the driveway the message "power steering failure" had suddenly displayed and the steering wheel became very difficult to turn in either direction. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the steering rack had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V450000 (Steering). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 170,000.

Started getting service side detection system warnings. Learned there has been a problem with this blind spot system. GM fixed it until Jan 2020 they say expired and my mileage was too high v problem just started last week of Feb 2022. 134k miles on it. Everything ran great but there are warnings from 2 years ago of dangerous repercussions from this defect. They won’t fix it and we can’t afford to have them fix it. I never got any notice of the problem from GM.

My blind spot light on my side mirror was flickering, and now it just stays on. I read online that the sensor in the bumper can overheat, causing a fire, but Chevrolet doesn't have a recall on it. I ended up shutting off the blind spot sensor option on my car. I utilize the sensors, especially on the highway when I travel. There hasn't been a warning light go on as of yet.

I've gotten my stabiltrac serviced and it came back on

Power steering

The electronic parking brake fails to disengage entirely from the rear brake pads causing them to become welded together. This results in extreme heat, excess brake dust, poor acceleration, and caliper / brake line (air) issues.

The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to an automotive store to be diagnosed; however, the mechanic was unable to retrieve a diagnostic trouble code. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.

While driving 45 mph, my car jerked and several lights came on in my dashboard including the light with the little wrench 🔧. In my dashboard, it displayed the message to check stabili track and steering power system and to drive with care. My car then started loosing power to accelerate. I had my vehicle towed to the dealership the next day and they stated that they cleared the codes but didn’t tell me what the codes were and they kept my vehicle for 5 days and said they couldn’t get the vehicle to act up. Now this issue has happened again and a message in my dashboard is saying to check the power steering and drive with care. I had no warning signs prior to this issue.

The service power steering came in on the dash, also along with service stabiltrak and the abs light heard these are common and play together , mainly the service power steering which caused the vehicle to be become almost impossible to steer I heard there where recalls on this same situation as it is a huge safety concern . It makes it very dangerous in highway or roads as it is very hard to steer

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH, the service power steering message appeared on the instrument panel. After the warning light appeared, the contact had to use excessive force to drive the vehicle home. The contact called both the dealer and the manufacturer and was informed that his vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V450000 (Steering). The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while driving at 50 MPH, the “Service Power Steering” message was displayed. The contact stated that he was able to continue to drive the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist because the VIN was not included in any recalls. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V450000 (Steering) because the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving and the steering was difficult to maneuver. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 118,000.

When I’m driving and slow down my key will turn itself off making the car itself shut off

Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Brake booster not regulating properly. This is causing the vehicle to not stop at a timely manner and a need to push brake all the way down for vehicle to eventually stop which is unsafe when driving. This has been confirmed by independent service center which has recommended to search for recall. No warnings or messages prior to issue.

My blind spot warning system has stopped working. This same year vehicle was recalled in other options (I have a Impala LTZ). Just curious why the LTZ was not recalled? I don't imagine it is a different system.

Power steering failure

GM had sent a letter in March 2020 about a known defect with the passenger presence module that wires could become disconnected over time, leading to a service airbag message and the passenger airbag failing to deploy when commanded. GM stated that they would provide additional protection (read extended warranty) on this condition to be repaired at no cost within 8 years of the date the vehicle was placed in service or 80000 miles, whichever was first. My 2014 Impala just had this issue occur on July 4, 2021, and when requesting GM to perform this repair at no cost for me (vehicle mileage is 77000 miles), GM stated that this extended warranty ended January 2021. This date does not match the 8 years called out in the letter they sent, as the general public couldn't even buy this vehicle until April 1, 2013 at the very earliest. GM refuses to pay for the fix of a known defect within a critical safety system on one of their vehicles due to a poor design. Conveniently, this issue occurred on my Impala ~1-2 months after the supposed end of coverage date, even though there is nothing documenting why this date was chosen or any data that supports that this issue will only occur inside of the quoted extended warranty window in the letter. GM needs to issue a recall on this rather than an extended warranty that doesn't cover a known defect within their design/manufacturing.

WATER ENTER IN THROUGH TRUNK LEDGE SEALS TO THE DEGREE OF SHORTENING OUT THE HARNESS, RADIO DASH LIGHTING CAMERA BACK WINDOW. THE FLOOR OF THE TRUNK WAS SOAKED AS THOUGH WATER WAD POURED. THE WATER WAS STANDING A LOT IN THE SPARE TIRE WELL. THERE WAS ANOTHER CUSTOMER WITH THE SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE THAT HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE DAYS PRIOR TO VISIT TO DEALERSHIP.

Transmission pulls back from second to third gear around 20 MPH. Serviced transmission fluid and problem persists. I personally checked the transmission by removing trans cover and determined the problem; he shifting solenoids are faulty.

Blind zone alert sensor failed due to manufacturing error that lets water into the sensor and corrodes it and causes it to smoke and potentially catch fire

My dashboard reads, service air bag. Everytime I turn it on as of this morning. 6/23/21 @ 1pm central time. I've read about the recall on these models as well of air bags deploying and throwing pieces of metal at drivers. Cause of molded air bag housing.

Fire started behind glove box area and burned electrical wires, instrument panel, airbag, front windshield, hood, water and smoke damage.

The linx radio stopped working. The onstar system stopped working awhile after the linx radio stopped working when the car started to operate off of battery reserve (or what I think is battery reserve --- the light on the dashboard changed to blue). I've had to change the batter twice in 2.5 years. I'm told the battery Duralast is a good battery and that its an electrical fuse problem and it would be difficult to find which wire is the problem. The vehicle has been inspected by three different dealers in three different states. I was also told to uninstall onstar for resolution of the electrical problem of the battery draining and needing to draw energy from another source taking up more energy than it's suppose to in the vehicle. Yes, in 2017-18, the problem was confirmed by the dealership where I purchased the car brand new in 2014, Criswell Chevrolet in Gaithersburg, MD.

I was about 5 minutes from home when all of a sudden warning lights started flashing on the dash board ( photos provided) The vehicle became hard to steer and control. Thankfully it was pretty much a straight highway until I had to make a left and 2 right turn to get to my house. It was as I had to fight with the steering wheel. Thank God! I was so close to home!! I don't even want to think what could have happened if I was on the interstate or a highway with lots of curves. I parked the car in the garage and it haven't been moved since. I called GM repair shops but they want to charge an arm and a leg just to tow it to the repair shop and another charge just to look at it. I called the vehicle hotline and they couldn't help me because there is no recall on my vehicle. My car has been parked in my garage for over 6 months now because I can't drive it.

Power steering went mostly out while on the interstate. Stabilitrack and Power steering warnings came on. It provides only about 10% assistance now. I must now provide effort to recover from a turn. I understand a recall came out for this model year for this type of issue but I didn't get one. I am the original owner.

We have had several problems with the blind spot sensor on our 2014 Impala LTZ. Problems would always occur when driving in rain or snow. Dealer would just say that the sensor gets wet and that we should try to dry it off. Once the sensor was dry it would work ok. Now the sensor does not work at all. Took it off and it was full of corrosion. Reading online regarding reviews I find out that this is a very common problem with GM vehicles but GM refuses to do a recall. However they did do a special offer to replace the sensor if you have less than 80,000 miles. My car has 85,000 but I have dealt with this problem for several years. I replaced the sensor myself (at a cost of $400) and now they tell me it has to be reprogrammed. That really sucks. It is too bad that GM just can't accept the fact that they have a faulty product. I am currently waiting for a call back from the dealer to see what it cost to get sensors and wiring harness replaced (GM admits that there definitely was a problem and says you have to replace both sensors and the wiring harness). How in the world can this not be a recall!!!!!!!!!!!

THE CONTACT'S SON RESTARTED THE VEHICLE TO DRIVE HOME. THE BLIND SPOT ALERT LIGHT ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE REMAINED ILLUMINATED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND DRAINED THE BATTERY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE SAW ONLINE THAT THERE WAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: N172097060 RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO Trecek Automotive of Portage Inc. (1350 E Wisconsin St, Portage, WI 53901) AND DIAGNOSED AS A BLIND SPOT ALERT SYSTEM FAILURE. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,812. THE CONSUMER STATED THE REPAIRS WOULD COST $950, BUT THE CONSUMER FEEL AS THOUGH REPAIRS SHOULD BE PAID BY THE MANUFACTURER.

HAVE HAD CAR AT DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES TOTAL FOR THE SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM MESSAGE/BLIND SPOT INDICATOR LIGHTS. FIRST TWO TIMES THE ISSUE WAS FIXED BECAUSE I HAVE THE MPP COVERAGE PLAN. THIS TIME MPP WOULD HAVE COVERED IT BUT MECHANIC SHOWS WATER INTRUSION. THEIR WAS A RECALL AT ONE TIME FOR VEHICLES UP TO 80,000 MILES. MINE HAS 124,000 SO NOT COVERED BUT WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR THE SAME THING PRIOR DID NOT HAVE 80,000 MILES. SO EITHER PAY THE $900 OR PAY THE DIAGNOSTIC CHARGE OF $155 AND WALK AWAY WITH ISSUE NOT FIXED . SO MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS AND GM HAS DONE NOTHING. IF I HAVE FIXED THE MODULE IS OVER $200 FOR THE ONE SIDE. IT KEEPS GOING OUT. GM SHOULD FIX THIS AND CREATE ANOTHER RECALL FOR THIS ALL SO COMMON ISSUE!!

THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THIS OCCURS IN 3 YEARS .THIS OCCURRED AFTER IT WAS RAINING THE SENSOR IS IN A BAD SPA OR AND GM IS NOT TAKING FAULT BECAUSE IT IS OVER IN MILES AND YEA FOR THE SPECIAL COVERAGE . I WISH THAT I COULD JUST NOT HAVE THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION. CAUSES MORE PROBLEMS THEN WHAT IT'S WORTH.

ISSUES WITH BLIND SPOT SYSTEM, SOMETIMES CAUSES ALL POWER ON DASH TO SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING, HAVE READ MANY MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUES ONLINE. SOUNDS LIKE THE BLIND SPOT MONITOR MODULES ARE TRASH, BUT NOT RECALLED....

I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT ON FREEWAY AT 70MPH WHEN "SERVICE STABILITRAK" "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" AND "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" SHOWED IN MY DASH AS WELL AS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. AT THE SAME TIME THE CAR SHIFTED ITSELF TO 3RD GEAR AND REDUCED SPEED TO 40MPH WITHOUT CHANGE IN DRIVER INPUT. THIS RESULTED IN A NEAR ACCIDENT THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN FATAL. THERE WAS A 18 WHEELER RIGHT BEHIND ME WHO WAS LUCKILY PAYING ATTENTION AND DID NOT CRUSH ME WHEN MY VEHICLE DID THIS. I THEN HAD TO CONTINUE DOWN THE FREEWAY UNABLE TO GO BEYOND 50MPH OR GET OUT OF 3RD GEAR DUE TO TRACTION CONTROL MALFUNCTION. I HAD TRACTION CONTROL SET TO OFF AS I ALWAYS DO, IT'S NOT A NEEDED THING LIVING IN A DRY LOW ELEVATION ENVIRONMENT. IF I APPLIED MORE GAS THE ENGINE WOULD "BOG DOWN" AND NEARLY STALL BECAUSE THE COMPUTER WAS LIMITING SPEED AND GEAR. I NEARLY DIED TODAY BECAUSE OF POOR ENGINEERING.

WHEN I PURCHASED MY CAR IN 2020 I NOTICED THAT MY BLIND SPOT WARNING LIGHT IN THE PASSENGERS MIRROR WAS TURNING ON AND OFF. I INFORMED THE DEALER THAT I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD REPAIR IT. THEY HAD MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT IN THE BLIND SPOT MONITORING SYSTEM AND THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE IT BEFORE I BOUGHT IT. WITHIN 6 MONTHS THE LIGHT WOULD TURN ON AND OFF AGAIN WHEN THERE WAS NO OTHER VEHICLES IN MY BLIND SPOT. FOR THE LAST YEAR I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO RESEARCH THIS PROBLEM TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THE ONLY THING I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIND IS THAT THE SENSORS IN THE REAR BUMPER FOR BLIND SPOT DETECTION WERE PRODUCED WITH A FAULTY SEAL TO KEEP MOISTURE OUT OF THESE SENSORS. IF THEY KNOW THAT THESE SENSORS WILL COLLECT MOISTURE AND CAUSE THEM TO SHORT OUT THEN WHY IS THERE NO RECALL ON THESE SENSORS? I HAVE HAD MANY TIMES THAT I WAS DRIVING AND WENT TO CHANGE LANES WHEN THE BLIND SPOT MONITOR WOULD BLINK TO INFORM ME THAT THERE IS ANOTHER VEHICLE THERE. IT HAS CAUSED ME TO START TO CHANGE LANES THEN HAVE TO PULL BACK TO AVOID SOMETHING THAT IS NOT EVEN THERE. I WOULD THINK THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND MIGHT EVEN CAUSE ACCIDENTS, IF IT HASN'T ALREADY HAPPENED TO OTHER OWNERS? I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT I CAN DO FOR THIS ISSUE AND TO KNOW IF I'M THE ONLY DRIVER WITH THIS PROBLEM? THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT HAS GOTTEN WORSE OVER TIME AND GOTTEN TO WHERE IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE MY VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT HAD THE ROTORS REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MIKE ANDERSON CHEVROLET OF MERRILLVILLE (1550 E 61ST AVE, MERRILLVILLE, IN 46410) FOR A SECOND DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,000.

WHEN TURNING LEFT THE WHEEL LOCKS UP AS IT WOULD IF THE CAR WERE SLIDING ON ICE. THE STABILITY TRACK ALERT COMES ON. IT BECOMES A PROBLEM WHEN I'M DRIVING IN BUSY TRAFFIC AND TURNING AT AN INTERSECTION BECAUSE IT'LL JUST LOCK UP AND NOT LET ME GO, STOPPING ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION.

AFTER GETTING THE VEHICLE BACK FROM THE DEALER, THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, WHEN SHE DETECTED A BURNING ODOR AND SAW FIRE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT THEIR FAULT AND TO CONTACT HER INSURANCE COMPANY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET DIAGNOSED AND WAS STILL AT THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,981.

RECEIVED LETTER FROM GMC IN MARCH 2020 REGARDING ELECTRICAL WIRE LEADING TO PASSENGER SEAT NOT DEPLOYING AND MAY BECOME DISCONNECTED AND FAIL TO DEPLOY WHEN COMMANDED. ALSO AN INDICATION WILL BE DISPLAYED ON THE DASHBOARD. MY CAR IS EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE AND GMC FAILS COVER THE COST BECAUSE ITS NOT IDENTIFIED AS RECALL. THE STATES THEY WILL COVER FOR NO CHARGE IF WITHIN 8 YEARS OF ORIGINALLY PLACED IN SERVICE OR 80,000 MILES (WHICHEVER COMES FIRST). GMC SHOULD ALREADY THAT 2014 CARS WILL BE WELL 80,000 MILES IN 2020! SINCE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND LIVES ARE AT STAKE, GMC SHOULD NOT MAKE THIS FINANCIAL BURDEN FOR CONSUMERS. ADDITIONALLY THE ELECTRICAL WIRING FOR THE ENTIRE SYSTEM IS AN ISSUE. MY SCREEN CONTINUES TO BLINK IN AND OUT AND SHOW A SYSTEM REFRESH AND THE RADIO, BLUETOOTH CAPABILITY, AND LOCKING MECHANISMS ARE INOPERABLE AS WELL. ALL OF THESE ISSUES STARTED AT THE SAME TIME! GMC NEEDS TO TAKE THE SAME STEPS REGARDING AIRBAG SAFETY AS FORD HAS DONE FOR THEIR CONSUMERS WITH OUT OF WARRANTY VEHICLES! FORD IS PROVIDING A FREE SERVICE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS BECAUSE THEY VALUE THE LIVES MORE PROFITS. I'VE TAKEN VEHICLE FOR SERVICE TODAY (4/9/21) AND I'M LOOKING A A HEALTHY BILL. HOPEFULLY ELECTRICAL/SAFETY ISSUES CAN BE ADDRESSED WITH GMC AS THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED IN MULTIPLE FORUMS INCLUDING THIS WEBSITE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT PROPERLY SHIFT INTO GEAR AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT PROPERLY ACCELERATE. ADDITIONALLY, A SCREECHING SOUND WAS PRESENT COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE WHILE ACCELERATING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER - BILL ESTES CHEVROLET LOCATED AT 4105 W 96TH ST, INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46268, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000.

WHILE DRIVING, THE ABS LIGHT AND STABLILITRAK LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE STEERING BECAME HARDER THAN NORMAL. WARNINGS ON THE DASH ADVISED THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE STABILITRAK AND TO SERVICE THE POWER STEERING.

THE CAR ELECTRICAL GOES HAYWIRE. ALL THESE ALERTS AND POP UP COME ON ABS LIGHTS. STABILLATRAC. NO POWER STEERING. LOOKED UP ISSUE IT HAS SOMETHING WITH A BAD SENSOR IN BUMPER. VERY DANGEROUS

THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON. EVERYTHING ON DASHBOARD LIKE THE ARROWS GO TO ZERO AND DOESN'T MOVE. THE OXYGEN SENSOR IS NOT WORKING. AND SOME TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. ALSO THE CAR HAS PROBLE!S MOVING AT FIRST. THIS HAPPENS WHEN I AM DRIVING.

THE ISSUE STARTED OUT AS A WARNING FROM THE SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM. IN THE PAST WEEK, THE ISSUE ESCALATED TO ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH COMING ON, AND THEN ALL ELECTRONICS GOING DEAD/DARK. THE TURN SIGNAL INDICATORS HAVE NO LIGHTS AND NO SOUND, THE RADIO SYSTEM IS DEAD, THE SPEEDOMETER AND GAS GAUGE ARE DEAD. AFTER SITTING A FEW HOURS, IT SEEMED THAT THINGS "RESET" TO JUST THE SIDE DETECTION WARNING. MOST RECENTLY, ALL THE ELECTRONICS ARE ACTING STRANGE. PUSHING THE BUTTON ON THE DOOR HANDLE TO UNLOCK IT, DOES NOTHING TO THE DOOR LOCK, HOWEVER, THE DISPLAY SCREEN SHOWS "TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE". WHEN ATTEMPTING THE START THE CAR BY PUSHING THE START BUTTON, NOTHING HAPPENS. IF I PUT THE FOB IN THE SLOT INSIDE THE ARMREST, IT WILL EVENTUALLY START, BUT AGAIN ALL DISPLAY FUNCTIONS ARE DEAD AS IS THE ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROLS (NO BLOWER - NO DEFROST- NO GOOD ON A COLD RAINY DAY). AGAIN THE SIGNAL INDICATORS ARE DARK AND SILENT. THE INDICATOR LIGHT FOR THE AIRBAGS IS NOW ILLUMINATED AS WELL. GM HAD A SHORT LIVED (AND SEEMINGLY SECRET) EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM HAVE THIS EXACT ISSUE WHEN WATER GOT INTO THE SENSORS, BUT THAT EXPIRED NEARLY A YEAR AGO. AS THIS ISSUE MAKES THE CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE, IT SEEMS THAT IT SHOULD BE A FULL RECALL TO ADDRESS THIS SAFETY CONCERN.

5TH CYLINDER MISFIRE CAUSED BY BROKEN VALVE. ALSO NOT SHIFTING RIGHT CAUSED BY TRANSMISSION SOLENOID

MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. I WAS SITTING AT A FAST FOOD DRIVE THRU. WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, MY REAR WINDSHIELD CRACKED WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WAS NO BLUNT FORCE OR OBJECT THAT DIRECTLY HIT MY REAR WINDSHIELD. THE WHOLE REAR WINDSHIELD CRACKED AND I HEARD LOUD SOUND WHEN MY REAR WINDSHIELD CRACKED. I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING TO MY WINDSHIELD OR MY VEHICLE FOR THE MATTER, FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP FOR ASSISTANCE ON THIS MATTER AND I WAS REFERRED TO G.M.C WHICH IS GENERAL MOTORS, AND I COULDN'T GET ANY ASSISTANCE, IN REGARDS TO MY VEHICLE BEING SAFE TO DRIVE. WHAT MAY HAVE CRACKED MY REAR WINDSHIELD IS UNKNOWN.

I HAD NOTICED THE EPB LIGHT COMING ON INTERMITTENTLY, FAR MORE OFTEN THAN EVERY 50 KEY CYCLES, AND BEGAN EXPERIENCING A SIGNIFICANT DECREASE IN ACCELERATION, POOR BRAKING, BRAKE DUST BUILDUP, UNEVEN TIRE WEAR, BOGGING DOWN WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD SHIFT AND WHEN ACCELERATING OUT OF A SLOWDOWN AND/OR TURN. I WOULD ALSO CONSTANTLY SMELL BRAKE DUST AND TIRE RUBBER AND FELT MY BRAKES WOULD BECOME EXTREMELY HOT TO THE TOUCH AFTER SHORT TRIPS. I OBSERVED THE OUTER REAR BRAKE PADS THROUGH THE CALIPER AND THERE SEEMED TO BE DECENT PAD LEFT. HOWEVER I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP MANY TIMES AND WAS TOLD EVERY TIME THAT THERE WAS NO NEED TO REPLACE THE PADS. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF ANY SOFTWARE FLASHES TO CORRECT ANY KNOWN OR UNKNOWN ISSUES, AND WAS ONCE TOLD THAT MY BRAKES NEEDED TO BE BLED AND AFTER HAVING THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE THEM WAS TOLD THE ISSUE SHOULD BE CORRECTED. I HAD FRIENDS AND FAMILY WITH AUTOMOTIVE BACKGROUNDS LOOK AT MY BRAKES AND TELL ME THERE SEEMED TO BE NO VISIBLE ISSUES. I FINALLY DECIDED TO HAVE A LOOK MYSELF ONE DAY. AFTER HOISTING THE VEHICLE UP, REMOVING THE REAR TIRE AND INSPECTING THE CALIPER AND PADS, I REALIZED THAT THE EPB HAD ACTUALLY HEAT/RUST-WELDED ITSELF TO THE INNER BRAKE PAD WHICH WAS COMPLETELY WORN WITH NO PAD WHATSOEVER. THE EPB WAS ACTUALLY UNABLE TO RETRACT, EVEN THOUGH THE LIGHT WAS OFF, BECAUSE THE METAL PLATE ON THE BACK OF THE PAD HAD BEEN FUSED TO THE EPB. I HAD TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER WHO REFUSED TO LOOK AT IT AGAIN, AND WAS INEV
