2015 Ford Transit

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Transit vehicles. An incorrect driveshaft torsional damper service kit may have been installed, which can allow the damper shield to contact the parking brake cable, possibly resulting in parking brake failure.

Risk. Parking brake failure can result in unintended vehicle movement, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the passenger side parking brake cable with a cable that provides sufficient clearance to the damper shield, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters were mailed on September 24, 2021. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 14, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Transit vehicles. This recall includes all full-size Transit vehicles previously recalled under 17V-408 except ones that received mechanical universal joint (u-joint) as a remedy and any 156" or 178" wheelbase Chassis Cab and Cut-Away bodies models. The flexible coupling connecting the transmission to the driveshaft may prematurely fail.

Risk. If the coupling fails, the vehicle will not be able to move under its own power and the disconnected driveshaft may impact and damage the brake and fuel lines. Additionally, the separated driveshaft may allow the vehicle to roll if the vehicle is exited when the transmission is in 'Park' but the parking brake is not applied. These scenarios may increase the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and as an interim repair, dealers will replace the flexible coupling every 40,000 miles until the final remedy is available. The final remedy will consist of installation of a driveshaft front section equipped with a mechanical u-joint in place of the flexible coupling. These repairs will be made free of charge. Defect. New England Wheels (New England) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Ford Transit and 2014-2019 Ram Promaster 2500 and 3500 vehicles modified to be equipped with Freedman Go-ES Foldaway seats. When the back seat cushion is rotated from the stowed position to the upright position, the seat cushion may not remain locked into place when under load, such as in a crash or a sudden stop.

Risk. In the event of a crash, if the seat back moves, the seat occupant has an increased risk of injury.

Remedy. New England has notified owners, directing them to contact Freedman for repairs to the foldaway seats, free of charge. The recall began May 27, 2019. Owners may contact Freedman customer service at 1-800-443-4540 or New England at 1-800-886-9247.

Defect. Fenton Mobility Products, Inc. (Fenton Mobility) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Ford Transit vehicles modified to be equipped with Freedman GO-ES Foldaway Seats, part numbers 43705, 45467, 48923, and 75719. When the back seat cushion is rotated from the stowed position to the upright position, the seat cushion may not remain locked into place when under load, such as in a crash or a sudden stop.

Risk. In the event of a crash, if the seat back moves, the seat occupant has an increased risk of injury.

Remedy. Fenton Mobility will notify owners, and a Fenton Mobility technician will repair the foldaway seats, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in June 2019. Owners may contact Fenton Mobility customer service at 1-716-484-7014.

Defect. Mobility Specialists, Inc. (Mobility Specialists) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Ford E-150 and Transit vans modified to be equipped with Ricon S-Series and K-Series wheel chair lifts. The wheelchair lift positioning input cam may fail while the lift is in use, allowing the platform to travel higher than the vehicle's floor height.

Risk. If the wheelchair lift platform stops above the vehicle floor, the wheelchair user can tip inwards toward the vehicle when exiting the lift, increasing their risk of injury.

Remedy. Mobility Specialists, working with Ricon, has notified the owners. Ricon will provide instructions and materials for replacing defective parts. Owners may contact Ricon customer service at 1-800-322-2884.

Defect. Cabot Coach Builders, Inc. DBA Royale Limousine (Royale) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Ford Transit-based mini-coaches equipped with Freedman GO-ES foldaway seats recalled under 18E-076. When the back seat cushion is rotated from the stowed position to the upright position, the seat cushion may not remain locked into place when under load, such as in a crash or a sudden stop.

Risk. In the event of a crash, if the seat back moves, the seat occupant has an increased risk of injury.

Remedy. Royale will notify owners and dealers will inspect and repair the seat. The recall began June 6, 2019. Owners may contact Royale customer service at 1-800-544-5587.

Defect. Vantage Mobility International, LLC (Vantage) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Ford Transit Van, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, and 2007 Ford F-250-based shuttle vehicles equipped with Freedman GO-3S foldaway seats. When the back seat cushion is rotated from the stowed position to the upright position, the seat cushion may not remain locked into place when under load, such as in a crash or a sudden stop.

Risk. In the event of a crash, if the seat back moves, the seat occupant has an increased risk of injury.

Remedy. Vantage has notified owners, instructing them to contact Freedman for a repair kit, free of charge. The recall began March 25, 2019. Owners may contact Freedman customer service at 1-800-443-4540.

Defect. TransitWorks is recalling certain 2015-2018 Ford Transit, 2018 Ford Transit Connect, and 2016 Dodge Ram ProMaster vehicles modified to be equipped with Freedman Seating GO-ES seats. When the back seat cushion is rotated from the stowed position to the upright position, the seat cushion may not remain locked into place when under load, such as in a crash or a sudden stop.

Risk. In the event of a crash, if the seat back moves, the seat occupant has an increased risk of injury.

Defect. Quality Van Sales, Inc. (Quality Van) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Ford Transit and E-350 vehicles modified to be equipped with Freedman GO-ES Foldaway Seat back cushions. The seat cushion may not remain locked into place when under load, such as in a crash or a sudden stop. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 207, "Seating Systems."

Risk. In the event of a crash, if the seat back moves, the seat occupant has an increased risk of injury.

Remedy. Quality Van will notify owners and dealers will inspect and repair the foldaway seat, free of charge. The recall began March 21, 2019. Owners may contact Quality Van customer service at 1-800-408-8550.

Defect. Fenton Mobility Products, Inc. (Fenton) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Ford Transit passenger vans modified to be equipped with Ricon S & K Titanium Wheelchair Lifts. The wheelchair lift positioning input cam may fail while the lift is in use, allowing the platform to travel higher than the vehicle's floor height. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 403, "Platform Lift Systems."

Risk. If the wheelchair lift platform stops above the vehicle floor, the wheelchair user can tip inwards toward the vehicle when exiting the lift, increasing their risk of injury.

Remedy. Fenton will notify owners, and a service technician will install Ricon Recall Parts Kit RI61396, free of charge. The recall began April 24, 2019. Owners may contact Fenton Mobility customer service at 1-716-484-7014. Fenton's number for this recall is RI61396.

Defect. XL Hybrids, Inc (XL) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Ford Transit vehicles modified to be equipped with XL's electric hybrid system. The cardan (universal) joint on the front driveshaft may fail, possibly causing the front driveshaft to detach.

Risk. If the front driveshaft detaches from the vehicle, drive power will be lost, increasing the risk of a crash. The detached driveshaft may also create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash for following traffic.

Remedy. XL will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front driveshaft with an updated one, free of charge. The recall began April 15, 2019. Owners may contact XL Hybrid's customer service at 1-833-953-5338.

Defect. National Van Builders, Inc. (National Van) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Ford Transit vehicles equipped with Freedman GO-ES Foldaway Seats, part numbers 43705, 45467, 48923, and 75719. When the back seat cushion is rotated from the stowed position to the upright position, the seat cushion may not remain locked into place when under load, such as in a crash or a sudden stop. Water can enter the tow modules and corrode the wiring causing issues such as rapidly flashing turn signals, loss of instrument panel display, an electrical short and possibly the deployment of seatbelt pretensioner.

Risk. An electrical short can increase the risk of a fire. Turn signal, instrument cluster or seatbelt pretensioner problems can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will add a drainage hole in the driver's door stepwell and incorporate a fuse into the vehicle's wiring harness, free of charge. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Note: This is an expansion of recall 17V-668 (Ford recall 17S34). Ford's number for this recall expansion is 17S34-S1.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling all 2015-2017 Transit vehicles except 156" and 178" wheelbase Chassis Cab and Cut-Away bodies. In the affected vehicles, the flexible coupling connecting the transmission to the driveshaft may prematurely fail.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Transit vehicles manufactured July 15, 2015, to April 14, 2016 and equipped with a 3.2L diesel engine. A fuel injector or the fuel volume control valve may clog due to metallic debris within the fuel system.

Risk. If debris clogs the fuel system, the engine may stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel injection pump and associated parts and, if necessary, will replace the fuel filter and flush the fuel system, free of charge. When the vehicle's doors are opened, the platform may fall onto the lift operator, increasing their risk of injury.

Remedy. New England will notify owners, and Ricon dealers will inspect the link arms for damage or for displaced bearings. The platform will be inspected for cracks. Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Transit vehicles manufactured March 12, 2014, to March 18, 2016. In the affected vehicles, the side curtain air bag may not deploy with the proper trajectory due to being folded and packaged incorrectly.

Risk. A side curtain air bag that does not deploy as intended may increase the risk of occupant injury in the event of a crash.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Transit vehicles manufactured February 13, 2014, to January 13, 2016 and equipped with rear passenger seats. The rear seat belt buckles may be damaged if a heavy object is placed on, or impacts, the top of the buckle. The damage may prevent the buckle from latching or from remaining latched.

Risk. An unlatched seat belt increases the risk of injury to the occupant in the event of a crash.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will modify or replace the seat belt buckles, depending on their location in the vehicle, free of charge. The recall began May 18, 2016. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S06.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015 Ford Transit vehicles manufactured May 1, 2015, to June 26, 2015, and equipped with dual rear wheels. The affected vehicles have a left or right rear axle drive shafts that may fracture, resulting in loss of drive power. Additionally, the vehicle may unexpectedly roll if it is parked without the parking brake applied.

Risk. A loss of drive power or vehicle rollaway after being parked can increase the risk of a vehicle crash.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the left and right axle drive shafts, free of charge. The recall began February 9, 2016. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 15S37.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015 Transit vehicles manufactured March 1, 2015, to April 10, 2015. The affected vehicles may have been built with seat belt assemblies that have seat belt labels that are missing the required belt model and model year and instead state "prototype sample." As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."

Risk. In the event of a safety issue with the affected seat belts, the vehicle owner may not be able to identify the seat belt if the seat belt label does not include a date of manufacturer.

Remedy. Ford has notified the one fleet owner affected, and a Ford representative will travel to the vehicle locations to install a new label that includes all of the required information. Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015 Ford Transit vehicles manufactured July 28, 2014, to August 7, 2014. In the affected vehicles the fuel filter bracket mounting may detach from the frame cross member over time.

Risk. A separation of the fuel filter from the cross member will disrupt distribution of fuel to the engine, thereby inducing an engine stall. An unexpected engine stall while driving increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will install a reinforcement plate, free of charge. The recall began on December 19, 2014. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 14S23.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015 Transit cargo vans without rear seating positions manufactured March 12, 2014, to June 24, 2014 and equipped with windowless sliding doors. The affected vehicles may have been manufactured without the epoxy reinforcement on the windowless sliding doors.

Risk. A sliding door without the epoxy reinforcement has an increased potential of unlatching in certain side impact crashes. A door that unlatches may open, allowing for a vehicle occupant to be ejected in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will install a reinforcement plate into the windowless sliding door, free of charge. The recall began in September 22, 2014. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-800-392-3673. Ford's number for this recall is 14S16.

Defect. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015 Transit vehicles manufactured April 3, 2014, to May 27, 2014. Brake fluid may leak from the brake hose/caliper junctions at the rear of the vehicle.

Risk. A brake fluid leak may lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle. If both of the rear brake junctions leak, there may a complete loss of braking. Either of these scenarios increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the sealing washers on both rear brake caliper to brake hose joints, free of charge. The recall began in August 2014. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 14S15.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V111000 (Seat belts) and would like to be removed from the recall distribution list due to not having rear seats in vehicle. The local dealer and manufacturer were contacted.

My van at times doesn't mater the incline it will say hill side assist and will lock the brakes I can be stuck for an hour or so found pumping the breaks will help release the lock quicker had dealership lock at it and they can't figure it out this has been going on for a year or so what can I do this isn't safe for at times I'm in traffic

The front subframe and transmission crossmember on my 2015 Ford Transit have experienced severe, premature structural corrosion, resulting in the metal rotting completely through. The subframe is structurally compromised, brittle, and actively cracking.Safety Risk and Imminent Hazard:The subframe is the load-bearing structural skeleton holding the vehicle's engine, steering assembly, transmission, and suspension components in place. Because the metal has rusted through, there is an imminent risk of complete structural collapse while driving. If the subframe snaps or detaches under load, it will cause an immediate loss of steering control and engine displacement, likely resulting in a catastrophic high-speed crash.Passenger and Public Danger:This vehicle is not used for commercial purposes; it is a dedicated family vehicle used daily to transport eleven (11) children. A structural failure at highway speeds puts twelve lives inside the vehicle—and dozens more on the road—at immediate risk of fatal injury.Manufacturer Response:Ford Motor Company (Ford Pro Customer Advocacy, Case Manager: Quatavius) was contacted regarding this premature, widespread engineering defect. Transmission, 6 speed, drops into 2nd gear locks up rear wheels. I was driving at highway speeds and the rear wheels locked up. My van skidded into another lane and almost caused an accident. My van has been down shifting for years but the rear wheels have never locked up. I shifted into neutral quickly to avoid an accident. I do not understand why this vehicle is not included in the recall. Ford has known of this problem and has done nothing for 10 years. I'm lucky my rear end did not blow up. (damage has been done) Ford should be responsible to repair any components that have been damaged from the downshifting and the rear end locking up. This is causing damage to my entire drivetrain. Please help me out, I have been waiting for this recall for years. I should be included. I need my faulty lead frame replaced. Thanks

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer to complete a recall related to NHTSA campaign number 19V767000 (Power Train). The vehicle began shaking when put in drive and when idling. A vibration was felt when beginning to drive, but when reaching 15 to 20 mph, the vehicle began shaking harder. The front driveshaft was replaced. The dealer stated that the rear driveshaft needed to be replaced but it is not part of the recall previously mentioned. The vehicle ultimately was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.

2015 Ford Transit. While driving at approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle was at first humming loudly...thought initially it was a neighboring noisy car muffler, but the van starting shaking and vibrating abnormally. Upon decreasing the speed, a loud thumping noise from beneath the car was heard, then squeeling while debris was being left in the road behind, and finally a violent shaking that was almost impossible to pull over safely. The "hill assist" light was flashing on the dash. I towed the vehicle to an independant transmission show as I was 50 miles from my local Ford dealer.ntact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the drive shaft flexible coupling was no longer present. The mechanic said that this is a known Ford issue and to have it towed there for the warranty/recall fix under NHTSA Campaign #19V767000 and #17S15 (Power Train) and the supercede Campaign #19S38. The vehicle had received an early version of the at-the-time fix of an updated flexible coupler. When contacting the Ford dealer, I was told that there were no recalls noted for my VIN. I contacted Ford, and was told that since I already had the "one-time permanant fix" that I was not eligble for any repairs under NHTSA 19S38 (which now specifies that that the flexible coupling is to be replaced with a new u-joint shaft connection). I thought safety recalls don't expire and the latest fix should be applicable/availble for this vehicle.

I have a 2015 ford transit 150 and I was driving home on the highway and out of nowhere my van downshift into I believe 1st or 2nd gear causing the engine to redline and the rear tire to lock up and cause me to lose control of the vehicle! For about 3-7 seconds in that time the cars behind me had to slam on there breaks almost rear ending me due to the abrupt deceleration from my vans rear tire locking up and as that happened the back of my van began to sway out from behind me and right at the time I believed I would have rolled over possibly killing me and injuring other drivers the van randomly went back into the proper gear allowing me to gain control and pull over. After I had time to process what just happened the check engine light came on and with my scan tool I read the code and it said that the speed sensor for the transmission had malfunctioned and after some research I found that similar year ford f150s with that same transmission and that same part number had recalled that part for the same issue! And I ask that if you would please save life’s by recalling this part it is not a debate it is a necessity please please recall this part

My 2015 Ford Transit 350 equipped with the 3.2L diesel engine experienced a failure of the high-pressure fuel injection pump at approximately 72,000 miles. The pump generated metallic debris which contaminated the entire fuel system. The vehicle began experiencing drivability problems including loss of power and intermittent stalling. The vehicle was diagnosed by a Ford dealership, where metal contamination was found in the fuel system. The repair required replacement of the high-pressure fuel pump, injectors, high-pressure fuel lines, and fuel rail, along with flushing and cleaning of the fuel tank and fuel system. The total repair cost was approximately $11,500. This failure appears to match the defect described in Ford safety recall 16S32 for certain 2015–2016 Ford Transit vehicles equipped with the same 3.2L diesel engine, where scuffing in the fuel injection pump can create metallic debris that contaminates the fuel system. My vehicle was built July 16, 2015, essentially within the same production period described in the recall, but my VIN was not included in the recall population. Because this failure required replacement of most of the fuel system components and created a sudden loss of power risk while driving, I am reporting this issue so it can be investigated and considered for inclusion with similar failures.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, who confirmed there was no recall coverage. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

Hello- I have the back up camera rear view mirror issue of other recalls but my vehicle is not listed as a part of the recall. It is a 2015 Ford Transit 250- Is there any reason it isn't included? My back up camera in the rear view mirror goes to blue or also shows and upside down picture like the other vehicles in the recall.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated that while attempting to register the vehicle with the Notary, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 115,000, and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 330,000. The contact stated that the private seller was selling the vehicle with the previous registered owner information on the title. The contact was able to reach the previous owner of the vehicle, who confirmed that the vehicle mileage had exceeded 328,000 when it was sold.

The contact stated that water had leaked through the windshield and into the air filter compartment, onto several wires for different electrical systems in the vehicle, and onto emissions components, which affected the engine timing. The contact stated that while inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that there was approximately 2-inches of water in the air filter box. The check engine warning light was illuminated, with diagnostic trouble codes indicating that the Oxygen sensors had failed, and the timing was not being converted correctly. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic, who diagnosed that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired by the mechanic. The contact replaced the catalytic converter and placed a seal around the windshield. The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and it was confirmed that the VIN was not included in a recall related to the failure. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

We took out 2015 Ford Transit to our Repair shop and the said the Frame is rusting through. This is only a ten year all vehicle. Everything else is in working order. The frame should be the last thing to go not the first. It only has 181,000 miles on it.

This 2015 Transit has the same problems described in Manufacturer Recall Number 25S49/NHTSA Recall Number 25V315 Backup camera freezes and has black screen when in use.

Initially my van began with a simple engine stall and total electrical failure while driving down the highway. The check engine light came on and the van was taken to the dealer to explore the problem. Multiple codes were found and were fixed which included coils, O2 sensors, fuel pump control module and several other things. Then a few days after picking the van up from the shop it had another engine stall while driving and check engine light. After taking it to the auto shop we informed of additional codes and problems which include catalytic converters, new battery, new alternator, and other things. Picked the vehicle from dealer and a few hours later the engine light came on along with engine stall while driving. I took it back to the dealer and I report problems with poor engine performance vehicle misfiring, rough running, poor fuel performance, check engine light, several engine stalls. Dealer diagnosed the van with needing a new Powertrain Control Module. Repairs were completed and upon picking the van up from the dealer the van wouldn't start, and dealer diagnosed the van with a bad fuel pump. To date we have spent over 30K in repairs, nearly 4 vehicle accidents due to engine failures, over 4 vehicle tow's, 5 battery replacements, and the van is currently awaiting new fuel pump replacement.

Driveshaft coupler failed after they installed a provisional fix on 2018, today they are fixing the problem with a solution but since they did a provisional fix they dont want to fix it at dealer

Unexpected downshifting on the highway at 60mph. Caused my back tires to skid.

Transmission randomly down shift on highway almost sending me into guard rail at 70 mph transmission read code of output speed sensor and it is the same issue that has been recalled in the same year f150 with the same transmission and part. Please I pray you recall this part before someone or a family lose their life! It is a known issue and a known failure in these transmissions there is no reason this is not a recall it was recalled in the f150 for a reason to save lives so please save more by recalling this transmissions and part

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated that he had discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy through a Carfax report. The vehicle was purchased through a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, on March 4, 2025, the vehicle mileage was 78,125; however, the Carfax report displayed that the mileage was 314,739 at the time the dealer had purchased the vehicle at an Auction.

Driveline issue

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the message "Exhaust filter overloaded, drive to clean", after which the vehicle entered LIMP Mode, and was unable to accelerate above 30 MPH. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). The vehicle was repaired under Customer Satisfaction Program: 23M01, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 109,000.

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated while driving at undisclosed speeds, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was related to Customer Satisfaction Program: 15B39 CPR and Technical Service Bulletin: 19-2091. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with water intrusion from insufficient sealing in certain areas of the engine compartment, allowing water entry into the engine compartment. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that there was no warranty coverage on vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.

The contact stated that there was an abnormal banging sound underneath the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the drive shaft flexible coupling had cracked and caused damages to the undercarriage, suspension, fuel line, and motor mounts of the vehicle. The contact was made aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V767000 (Power Train). The contact was informed by the dealer that the vehicle exceeded the 40,000-mile limit set by the manufacturer in the recall for driving the vehicle prior to having had a permanent repair completed. The contact stated that the vehicle was no longer eligible for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that he was not aware of the recall. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and denied the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

Ford performed a safety recall for driveshaft repair and the recall was performed - as a result of the upgraded parts (first section of driveshaft and ujoint) installed due to the recall, the driveshaft is out of balance due to the newly changed design of the driveline (going from a giubo joint to a ujoint). The vehicle now needs the rest of the driveshaft balanced (a ~15ft long driveshaft) as a result of the recall - this poses a safety issue because it could make the carrier bearings fail at any minute of operation

Vehicle will randomly downshift into first gear at 40mph almost caused me to lose control

When I was driving, the driveshaft came apart and everything underneath broke including fuel lines, brake lines, and turbo lines. Ford is refusing to pay for the recall repair.

TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTS TO FIRST GEAR FROM ANY GEAR AT ANYTIME. I have to stop and restart truck (VAN). Sometimes it will have to sit for several days before it works again. This is a ford transit f250 van with the 6 speed automatic transmission. This started around 30,000 miles. 2015 FORD TK EPO. I bought this brand new. This happens a lot, Thanks

The Van looses all power. This has happened 4 times. The display will appear brake boost failure or engine failure. We were driving on the 60 fwy in the number one lane when this happened last. My husband was able maneuver to shoulder without causing an accident.

Torque Converter Shutter at 66,000 miles (code P0741) on 2015 Transit T-250 Diesel

The car stalled without warning while driving in heavy fast traffic which nearly caused a accident. It turns out that the recall Ford program [XXX] that addressed this issue was not performed by the dealership (even when it was serviced repeatedly at dealer) as they did not have the parts. Now Ford claims they will not fix the issue as the program expired months ago. Former ford stock owner (never again). This vehicle (along with a few others) went to Preston Ford West in Randallstown, MD for recall 19S38/19V767. The recall specifically states, "RESULTING IN DRIVELINE NOISE AND VIBRATION." Once one of the other vans were picked up from the dealer, we experienced this issue at about 40mph. Our normal mechanic told us that it had a failing driveshaft. When the 3rd vehicle experience the problem (this van), I took it back to the dealer, who claimed that a bent rim was the issue. After the bent rim was fixed, I drove it & experienced the same vibrations from when it went in originally. After arguing with the staff & waiting 3 months, I am being billed for a new axle. Then our normal mechanic had to replace the wheel hub due to poor work done by the dealer. I opened a case with Ford Motor Company ([XXX]) but Ford is actually like there is nothing that they can do. I have spent almost $4k due to this recall & the Ford dealership's lack of knowledge of the products that they sell Attached is just one of the 2 Ford invoices & does not include the repair by our competent independent mechanic (any vehicles vehicles that our mechanic fixed run smoothly) Also attempted to call NHSTA with this info, but the rep was more interested in talking over me that allowed her to do nothing than helping to resolve a solution. Hi, I’ve been getting water into my engine air filter box. I did some research and a lot of customers are having the same problem. Is there a fix for this..

Vehicle has an open recall for flexible coupling from the transmission to the drive shaft. This broke and damaged the fuel line, broke the brake lines and damage some other components. Took it to the Webb Ford in Highland IN and they informed me they will cover just the flexible connector and not the other damage caused by the failure, stating they send a lot of recall notices to the previous owner. Cost for the repairs are aprox $3,100. Since the failed coupling caused the damage, why i am asked to pay for the repairs caused by the recall component. I am a new owner of the vehicle and never received any notices from Ford. Thank you

While driving van displayed "engine fault service now" and lost all power in the middle of the road. I was able to pull over turn it off and back on and is running. This is happened to nearly our whole fleet of Ford Transits. I have put in a claim with Ford, as this is an extremely dangerous safety issue. It is causing my employees to feel like we are providing unsafe transportation, it is causing lost revenue due to vehicles being out of service and it is a potential insurance claim/workers comp issue. Ford needs to take action.

This 2015 van has the exact problem described in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V598000

While driving on the highway, acceleration shuts down and I lose the ability to control speed. I had to coast to the side of the road even though the engine was still running and I was rear-ended. After I shut off the vehicle, it turned on and returned to normal operation. This has happened multiple times. The throttle body was replaced in 2021 at 117,444 miles and is having this issue again now. I have a fleet of Transit vehicles and this has happened on 4 transits from 2015-2018 a total of 6 times now. This is an ongoing issue that Ford needs to address.

The contact stated while the driver was driving at an undisclosed speed, he heard a loud stomping sound, and it seemed that a part had detached underneath the vehicle and was banging against the subframe. The driver depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle failed to respond. The driver was able to pull to the median and engaged the electric parking brake to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the driveshaft had detached, twisted, and damaged the brake lines. The mechanic replaced the brake lines, the driveshaft, the shaft seal, and couplings, and two fuel tubes. The vehicle was repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 157,500.
