I own a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The vehicle has a recurring loss-of-braking problem associated with the ABS/ AdvanceTrak system. While driving, the vehicle can suddenly lose normal braking ability and does not stop as it should when I press the brake pedal. The ABS, AdvanceTrak, traction control/hydroplaning and other warning lights illuminate at the same time. I have had to use the emergency/parking brake to help stop the vehicle.The exact underlying component causing the failure is UNKNOWN. The ABS module/ ABS hydraulic control unit (HCU) has been diagnosed and replaced more than once, and the vehicle has also been repeatedly reprogrammed and diagnostic codes cleared. The vehicle has been inspected by three different Ford dealerships for the same recurring problem. The dealerships have performed diagnostic work and repairs, including replacement of ABS-related components. Most recently, 1 paid approximately $1,600 to a Ford dealership for an ABS-related repair. I was told the vehicle was repaired and picked it up on [10-6-26]. Less than 24 hours later, while driving, the vehicle again lost normal braking ability. I own a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid and am reporting a recurring and serious braking problem. On XXX, while driving to pick up my mom and my [XXX] son, I pressed the brake pedal to stop, but the vehicle did not stop normally. I repeatedly tried to brake, but the vehicle took much longer to stop than it should have. The brake pedal became spongy and did not have normal resistance. The BRAKE, ABS, and AdvanceTrac warning lights appeared. The vehicle’s computer/system was reset afterward, and the vehicle drove normally for several days. On XXX, the same braking problem happened again while i was driving to go pick up my [XXX] son from school. The brake pedal became spongy, and repeatedly pumping the brakes did not properly stop the vehicle. This time I had to use the emergency/parking brake to help bring the vehicle to a stop. The same BRAKE, ABS, and AdvanceTrac warning lights appeared.After this incident, the rear brakes were replaced and a new ABS Anti-Lock Brake Pump (part number 9E58-2C555-AF) was installed. 2020 Ford Escape wipers keep stuttering, moving very slowly, freezing midway through cycle, or fail to operate during adverse weather conditions. This results in poor to no visibility sometimes with the wiper blocking vision directly. This is a known recall and Ford has refused to repair the wiper until the unveil their solution for all potentially impacted vehicles. They acknowledge that a wiper motor would repair our vehicle right now but told us to wait for months while they determine a global fix. Recall number we believe is 26S14. According to Ford's internal OASIS database, Safety Recall 19S54 (NHTSA Campaign 19V904) was marked as "completed" under a previous owner. However, physical inspection of the vehicle proves that the mandatory federal remedy was never executed. The master cylinder still retains the original factory DOT 3 cap, and the system was never upgraded to DOT 4 fluid. Because the servicing dealership falsified the repair documentation and left the corrosive DOT 3 fluid in the system, my vehicle has now suffered the exact catastrophic safety failure the recall was meant to prevent. There have been many recalls on the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid, according to Ford mine has already had the repairs done yet the issues I’ve been having all match recalls. I’ve had issues with my passenger seat, the air bag system light is always on and the seat controls no longer work. The clockspring system is pure trash, there is no reason I’ve had to replace it twice now in the 2 months I’ve had this car. My ABS system keeps going in and out and says service advancetrac system. My hybrid battery rarely goes into hybrid anymore causing my mpg to drop. There were a few other things but that’s what’s coming out mind now.

The brakes on my 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid, occasionally stop working, and the brake pedal, Has to be pushed harder and further than usual for the brakes to engage. This creates an extremely dangerous situation for anyone driving the vehicle, and any other vehicles sharing the roadway near my vehicle. The vehicle was not involved in an accident, but very easily could’ve been. After the first time this happened, I replaced the brakes on my vehicle, however, that did not fix the issue. Upon further research, I found there was a Ford safety recall (19S54) on 2010 Ford Fusions for this very issue. The problem I am having, is caused by a valve within the brake system's hydraulic control unit sticking open, forcing the driver to push the brake harder and further than usual for the brakes to engage. Ford recalled more than 600,000 Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, and Lincoln MKZ sedans from the 2006 through 2010 model years for the previously mentioned problem under Ford safety recall number 19S54. My vehicle is having the exact issues addressed in Ford safety recall 19S54. For whatever reason, my Ford Fusion is not listed as an eligible vehicle to be fixed under Ford safety. Recall 19S54 even though it falls within the make model and year of vehicles affected under the recall. I’m assuming my vehicle isn’t eligible simply because it may have been manufactured in a different plant than the one listed on the recall? The brakes are acting in the same manner described in the previous recall issued by this agency. My vehicle was manufactured at the same plant as the previous recall for the same problem. I am at a loss as too what it will take? Will it take more loss of life? Get off your ass and do something!! Thousands of people are experiencing the same problem open your eyes and do something!

Advance Trac light and brake light came on without any notice and lost ability to brake. Was able to use parking brake to avoid any collisions. There have been 0 issues before this that would have given me any advanced notice of this. After a Google search I found that this is apparently a known and fairly common issue with these cars.

Brakes have same systems as discribed in 19S54 recall but my vehicle is not listed as needing that recall!

I was driving the vehicle and it started beeping. I looked at the dashboard and multiple lights in relation to the brakes were on or flashing such as the brake light, abs, service advancetrac, traction control etc. The main issue was I was driving and the vehicle had some sort of glitch and all the lights for the brake system came on the and vehicles brakes did not work. The brake was soft and if depressed it went down to the floor. Luckily no cars were ahead of me and I was able to pull the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. After researching this, this was an issue for these model vehicles, but I thought this was addressed on my particular vehicle. This is a common issue with these cars and has happened to many of the vehicles as reported on various consumer report and the NHTSA. This issue is documented in the TSB-09-22-11 as well as 19S54 Recall. I shut the car off and turned it back on and the lights went away and it worked. Car was towed the dealer and they were unsure and I also reached out to Ford Motor Co but they were unwilling to help.

The vehicle loses all brakes while driving. With multiple warning lights coming on to include brake light, traction control. The problems completely match ford's current recall number 19s54 which this vehicle was not included in. This issue is intermittent.

WHY ON EARTH WOULD THE 2011 MODELS BE RECALLED FOR THIS IDENTICAL PROBLEM, BUT NOT THE 2010 MODELS WITH THE SAME PART. MY FAMILY COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED- WOULD THAT HAVE TRIGGERED A RECALL ?

WHILE THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH APPROACHING A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE DID NOT STOP AND CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT VEERED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED 20 TO 30 MINUTES LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: 10B13 (BRAKE SYSTEM UPDATE) AS A POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. HUNTINGTON FORD (2890 S ROCHESTER RD, ROCHESTER HILLS, MI 48307, (248) 852-0400) WAS CONTACTED TO SCHEDULE A SECOND DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.

WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AFTER DRIVING ON HIGHWAY FOR 20 MINUTES IN JULY, TYPICAL HEAT CONDITIONS. THE WRENCH LIGHT HAD COME ON FOUR PREVIOUS TIMES IN THE PAST TWO YEARS WITH NO LOSS OF POWER AND WAS TOLD BY FORD IT WAS LIKELY THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR ON THE HYBRID BATTERY INDICATING THE BATTERY WAS TOO WARM. THIS TIME THE CAR LOST POWER QUICKLY AND WE HAD TO TURN ON THE FLASHERS AND EXIT THE HIGHWAY. CAR WOULD NOT GO FASTER THAN 40 MPH. SHUT DOWN CAR AND RESTARTED BY LOSS OF POWER CONTINUED. ENGINE LIGHT ALSO CAME ON AT THE END OF THE TRIP. DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY (FORD GENUINE PART DS7Z-9E926-D). THIS REPAIR IS COVERED AT NO COST FOR NON-HYBRID FUSIONS AS DESCRIBED IN "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N03." THIS WAS IN LIEU OF A FULL RECALL (THE NHTSA WAS INVESTIGATING THESE SAME ISSUES). THE FORD REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THIS WASN'T COVERED ON HYBRID FUSIONS BECAUSE THE THROTTLE BODY PARTS WERE DIFFERENT. HOWEVER, THE SAME REPLACEMENT PART IS BEING USED IN BOTH HYBRID AND NON-HYBRID FUSIONS TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. WHEN I POINTED THIS OUT, HE REPLIED, WELL I HAVE'T SEEN MANY 2010 FUSION HYBRIDS WITH THIS PROBLEM. THAT IS PROBABLY TRUE -- THERE WERE ONLY 31,000 SUCH VEHICLES PRODUCED SO ANY ONE REPAIR SHOP WON'T SEE MANY. REGARDLESS, THIS IS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH THE EXACT SAME PART IN VEHICLES FROM THE SAME YEAR AND HERMOSILLO PRODUCTION PLANT. THE REMOVED THROTTLE BODY IS COVERED IN BLACK CARBON, THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE FAULTY THROTTLE BODIES IN NON-

DUE TO A DESIGN FLAW, THE CAR'S COMPUTER SYSTEM CANNOT ACCEPT AN INDICATION OF MORE THAN ONE DIGIT IN THE "AGE" ENTRY. FOR THIS REASON, THE ELECTRIC HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY STOPS WORKING WHEN THE CAR APPROACHES 10 YEARS OF AGE, CAUSING A SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS HESITATION IN THE DRIVE TRAIN WHEN STARTING FROM A DEAD STOP CREATING A VERY DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITION, ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING A CROSS-TRAFFIC TURN. REPEATED REQUESTS FROM MY FORD DEALER TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY FOR AN EXPLANATION OF HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. MY LETTERS TO FORD SENIOR MANAGEMENT HAVE GONE UNANSWERED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED HOW TO RESET THE "AGE" DATA, AND MY DEALER HAS FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS TO ELIMINATE THE CONDITION.
