2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE. Vehicle experienced a “Stop Safely Now” warning with hybrid system shutdown, occurring both while driving and while parked/idling, causing jerking symptoms. This puts driver and other roadway users at risk, as loss of power/propulsion can occur without warning while in motion. Vehicle also set a P0073 (ambient air temperature sensor circuit high) fault code. The ambient air temperature sensor was replaced (Ford part numbers AU5Z-12A647-B / FC4Z-12A647-A) but the underlying issue has not been fully resolved and diagnostics are ongoing. Vehicle also had a prior transmission replacement (January 2023). Vehicle has also had extreme, unresolved electrical issues: fuses repeatedly burning out, lights burning out, two horns replaced due to failure, backup camera display turning blue/failing, and dashboard warning lights randomly illuminating. The dealership has confirmed electrical issues are occurring but has not been able to identify the root cause despite inspection. Issue has been confirmed/reproduced by a dealer. Vehicle and components are available for inspection upon request. I have a 2019 Ford Fusion. The bolt holding the steering wheel to the steering shaft has come loose. in May 2018 there was a recall for this same loose steering wheel issue on 2014-2018 versions of the Fusion. There is no loose steering wheel recall for the 2019 Fusion. Ford's remedy for the loose steering wheel was replacing the bolt holding the steering wheel to the steering shaft with a longer bolt on the 2014-2018 Fusions. I would expect the longer bolt was used in production in my 2019 Fusion steering, and that's why it is not recalled. But that longer bolt has also come loose like the older shorter bolts. This would make me suspect the repaired older recalled Fusion steering wheels could eventually come loose again just like my steering wheel did.

My car dies and needs jumped everytime I shut it off. There's an odd clicking sound coming from the front floor of the trunk behind the drivers side back seat. This has been happening for 2 days now. I think I can smell something burning, but I've only had that smell once today.

I was driving on a slushy road and it was snowing. I received a warning that the pre-collision assist was unavailable. Another light also lit up saying there was no traction. The car veered toward the concrete barrier next to me and I couldn't turn the wheel. The brakes also did not work. I slammed into the concrete barrier at about 55 mph and began spinning back across the interstate and stopped next to a guardrail. When I hit the concrete barrier, my seatbelt didn't catch and my whole body slid forward into the steering wheel, dashboard, and windshield. My face hit the windshield. The airbags never inflated.

The dealer confirmed that the failure related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V440000 (Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 75,000.

Trunk is opening and car unlocks on it's on. Random Also, display screen frequently goes black or freezes. Sometimes it will freeze on the rear camera when I'm driving down the road.

Coolant leak issue that caused the check engine light to turn on. This defect is present within these 2019 Ford Fusion Hybrids with EcoBoost engines. My safety and the safety of my passengers was put at risk since this defect can cause coolant to leak into the cylinders, leading to corrosion, misfires, engine failure, and even potential car fires. My mechanic gave it a diagnostic check and the following issues were detected: Random Misfire Detected- Not Current DTC, Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected- Warning Lamp On, and Misfire Detected on Startup (First 1000 revolutions) - Pending DTC. He also noted that the coolant level was low. I reached out to my local Ford service department and they wouldn't assist me with this serious concern.

The contact would have to turn off the vehicle and then restart to regain power and proper function. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that the power control module, PCM, failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired due to the parts being on national backorder. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case regarding the matter. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.

ABS System Failure

Car has 89,900 miles on it. Has been serviced every 5k miles. Never had an issue. And then last Friday the car started making a rattling sound under the hood. So I pulled over. No warning lights whatsoever was visible. I turned the car off checked everything and it all seemed fine. I turned back on the car and heard nothing. So I began to drive and after 2 mins the noise started again and now a warning ⚠️ light appeared and stated to pullover safely. I had it towed to shop only to find out that my engine was blown!

For an unknown reason, the car caught fire and exploded while parked in a residential parking lot.

My trunk continues to open when the release button is not being employed. This morning, on my way to work, it happened about 8 times. I had to bungee the trunk latch to my license plate so I could drive. I found a forum online that this has been an issue w/ several other Fusions

Rear trunk lid opened on its own during the night. The car was locked.
