The vehicle's build date is January 2018, which falls within the range covered by Ford Technical Service Bulletin 18-2283 ("Instrument Panel Sagging at the Windshield Glass"), issued for vehicles built between October 13, 2014 and February 2, 2018, describing the instrument panel sagging and separating near the windshield. I am filing this complaint because this appears to be a documented, recurring defect pattern affecting this vehicle's dash generation, rather than isolated cosmetic wear. Ford Customer Relations has twice declined goodwill assistance, citing the vehicle's age (just over 8 years) as the sole basis, without physical inspection or evaluation of the underlying condition. An independent repair estimate to replace the dash panel and remove/reinstall the windshield for access was quoted at approximately $3,100.

The chrome trim on the parking brake switch started chipping. The sharp edge drew a drop of blood and small pieces attached to your fingers. Replaced the switch in June 2026

The air bags did not deploy on the front passenger side after a two car accident. There was an injury to the passenger of the car. Vehicle was inspected by police and there were no warning signs

I am reporting a serious safety issue with my 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE that affects the braking system and related electronics: 1.The ABS stopped functioning previously. 2.Recently, the car displayed a “Brake Malfunction” warning for the first time, which appears when making sharp turns. 3.The TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) stopped working some time ago. These issues are extremely dangerous. The electronic brake booster and ABS module are critical for safe braking, especially in emergency situations. With the ABS and brake assist compromised, the pedal can suddenly become rock hard or soft, stopping distance increases dramatically, and traction control/ABS is unavailable during hard braking. I am concerned this is a systemic issue with the 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE braking system and not isolated to my vehicle. This failure could put drivers, passengers, and others on the road at serious risk. I request that NHTSA investigate this issue for potential recall action to protect the safety of drivers nationwide.

The second time is current. It is available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? -We were stranded on the highway in Missouri. The second time the car failed was during winter weather with two small children, putting us at significant risk due to exposure to extreme cold and the dangers of being stuck on the side of the highway. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? - Yes, the problem was confirmed by a dealer/service center after the first failure, and it has occurred again. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? - Yes, it has been inspected by a dealer, but not by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? - Yes, the first time it failed we got an engine overheating error. The second time it failed we got the "wrench" error code. These warning signs occurred as the problem occurred and did not give us any time to get the car to safety.

In Mid-August I was sitting at a stop light about to turn left. I was about the 3rd car in line. The light turned, and the first car turned left, and we inched up the car in front of me was able to turn, and the traffic was clear enough for me to also make the turn. However, in the middle of the turn my car didn’t stall out but lost all acceleration. I was pushing the gas, but while the car coasted forward it didn’t begin the drive. However, I never lost power. It was like the car jumped from “Drive” into “Neutral” and I coasted through the turn. I hesitated slightly and then pushed on the gas. The engine made sound but no movement other than coasting. Finally, I felt a small jolt and the car started moving forward. I was able to clear the intersection and was back in Drive mode. At that time the “Engine Warning” light came up on the dash. The car was able to move, nothing else seemed to have a problem, breaks still worked, I pulled into a parking lot. I pulled over, parked, but did not turn the car off immediately. I was able to drive forward and back-up while in the parking lot, as well as make turns. After about a minute I turned the car off to see if the car would automatically “fix itself”. I waited about three minutes and then started the car again, and it started without any problem, but the Warning light was still on. I left the parking lot and was able to drive with the Engine Warning light was still on, but no problem with anything else. I drove about five miles tow

Park Break engages on its on when the engine is turned off

In for a normal oil change and tire rotation. The lug nuts were swollen and had to be broke off and replaced. with the same one that were on my car. I did not no Ford had a lug nut problem until then. To find out that some people had to have cars towed because of the tire not being able to come off. It is a saftey hazard. Ford know this and keeps making these lug nuts. Saying to replace every 50,000 miles at 160 dollars. this is crazy. I am sure there are many people who do not even know till it is too late. They should come up with a different design and replace them all. I travel 80 miles a day, and i rotate every 5,000 miles. i will be replacing them way too may times at this rate. this is unecessary.

I recently had to replace all of the lug nuts on this car due to swelling. Ford said they were all faulty. There were no warnings about the problem. It was noticed in a routine service appointment. I was informed the risk could be that I would not be able to remove them if I experienced a flat tire, and therefore be left stranded.

Driving down the road and suddenly all the lights came on and lost power steering there was no warning. Nothing. It stopped working. I then see something today in regards to this being an issue and when I contact ford about it was nothing we can do. Ford did not make this very public and I bet if you people expanded this to other newer models and made it public you might find more people that have had the same issue and thought it was just their car.

I have a problem with the variable speed windshield wipers. This has occurred twice now in the past 2 weeks or so and I paid a little closer attention to the symptoms the second time (yesterday). When the problem occurs, the wipers have only ONE speed: LOW. The speed does not increase as the rain gets heavier AND you can not increase the speed by switching the selector to HIGH either. So.....as the rain gets heavier, the visibility gets REALLY bad and the only solution seems to be to slow WAY down, which is not a good thing to suddenly do on a "freeway". I was able to determine if I select OFF on the wiper control and then turn it back ON, the problem (sometimes) goes away and the wipers operate normally.......for a while. Of course, turning the wipers OFF during heavy rain isn't a good thing to do either. I am calling my Ford dealer today to make an appointment for service. Since the condition has been intermittent (so far), I fear that their answer might be "no trouble found" if they can't observe the failure themselves.

My car has to replace the TRANSMISSION with 54.275 miles . The reason for chance was , when accerating car maked a loud ratlling/screeching noise, from internal noise from transmission. Santa Monica Ford Lincoln Dealer did the job. Then after about driving 35.000 miles, againg The same noise. I tool The car back to SANTA MONICA FORD LINCOLN DEALER, and they (Car had 96000 miles, that time) and they refused to fix it again. They Cheked it, and found the same problema with this transmission. My car is Parking for over a year. FORD never help.

On May 26, 2023, after I started moving from stop at a traffic light, I rear ended the vehicle in front of me when it came to a sudden stop. My speed was between 25 - 35 mph at most. My front and side curtain airbags deployed, the hood was crumpled and fascia was damaged as expected. However after 10 minutes or so, flames started coming from underneath the hood and within a few minutes the engine compartment was on fire. The Fire Department arrived and put out the fire but had to break the windshield and rip off the fender to aim the fire hoses.

Swolen Wheel Lug Nuts (all wheels) had to be replaced to rotate tires and check brakes properly during routine maintence at a cost of $321.29 at Lindsay Ford if Wheaton, MD

Doors lock besides driver door if it does lock ot locks you inside the vehicle only way to get out is to roll down the window and open from outside or climb over to get out of a different door! I have had to climb out of the window to get out my car before.

Unknown. My wrench light has came on 3 times since owning this car. The first 2 times it has came on I was not able to switch out of park after starting my car, but shortly after the light went off on its own and I was able to drive my car. This Friday (8/26/22), when on my way to work the wrench light came on again and this time stayed on, I was not able to switch out of park from starting it as well. I had my car towed and I’m currently waiting for the mechanic to see what’s wrong with my car( 8/27/22)

2 weeks ago I went to drive my car and an error code popped up on my screen stating Shift SYS Fault Service Required. I took my car to a mechanic I have been using and he checked the codes to diaganose it. He stated that it needs a Range Control Module, Range Sensor. According to the mechanic this is located inside the transmission and will require quite a bit of time to replace. This sensor controls what gear the car is in. On top of this the mechanic called the ford dealer for the part and I was told the part was on back order with no date yet on when it will come in. Since this happened I have received an update on the part, they were saying possible 08/09 but now as of today has been backed up to 08/19. From my understanding this car has had a recall for the model years 2013 to 2016 for this same error code coming up, but in the past this has dealt with the actual shifting mechanism not the module inside. So at any rate this is definitely a safety issue since I can't drive my car due to it possibly popping out of gear or not staying in park. While it still functions currently I am hesitant to drive it anywhere due to the possiblity of not being able to get it into or out of drive.

I was trying to move items around in my trunk. As I lifted a bag to pull it out, I felt sharp metal cut deep into my finger. I looked in side and saw that the trunk lid was just the frame with holes and no protective covering at all over the metal frame on the top of my trunk. I did not go to the hospital, but it was very deep and probably needed stitches.

The fuel door not opening. The dashboard shows fuel door opening and it doesn’t. After watching some YouTube videos at the gas station not knowing what else to do I have to now open the trunk and use the emergency release. Nothing seems wrong once it is opened. I found out this is a problem for others with knowing other people posted videos on YouTube with the same problem.

MY vehicle gets the tires rotated every 5,000 miles it has 55,000 miles in it the last time they rotated my tires they said the all 2 piece lug nuts will have to be replaced , I'm 75 years old and have worked on all my vehicles and never have I replaced all the lug nuts, I understand this has been happening to many ford products , I hope there is going to be a recall this becomes very expensive if they cannot remove the lug nuts with the impact tool .

IN HEAD ON CRASH AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY

Car is parked and fine. Started car and ABS comes on. Then brake fluid is low. Then hose line is ruptured and throwing out brake fluid.

I was able to replicate the first issue once, second issue happens more frequently: Braking system not grabbing on as hard as they should and abs did not activate. car also seems to lunge forward sometimes when slowing down, most noticeable when preparing to turn. Took the car to get inspected at a Ford Dealership, they claim to no be able to replicate the issue. I've also opened up a case with Ford Motor Co.

Trunk pops open unprompted frequently, often while driving. This is an electrical issue that Ford is not fixing

A WEEK AGO I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY @ 70 MPH AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY CAR STOPPED FOR NO REASON I LOOKED DOWN AND MY TURN KNOB SHIFTER WAS ON PARK, LUCKY FOR ME THERE WASN'T ANY VEHICLE CLOSE BEHIND ME. I PUT MY EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON AND TURNED MY CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND IT STARTED GOING AGAIN. THEN THE OTHER DAY I STARTED IT AND IT STARTED FINE PUT IT IN REVERSE AND IT SWITCHED TO PARK WHEN I STARTED BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND A WARNING SHOWED UP ON MY SCREEN AND SAID TO STOP SAFELY, SO AGAIN I TURNED IT OFF AND BACK ON AND IT STARTED AND BACKED UP AND DROVE FINE BUT THE WARNING SIGN WAS STILL THERE SO I PULLED BACK IN MY DRIVEWAY TURNED IT OFF LET IT SIT FOR ABOUT AN HOUR, STARTED IT AND THE WARNING SIGN WAS GONE AND IT RAN FINE.

TURNED OFF ENGINE, FIRMLY PRESSED BRAKE PEDAL AND TURNED ON ENGINE, SAME PROBLEM. TRIED A 3RD TIME, SAME PROBLEM. ON, MAYBE 4TH ATTEMPT THE MAJOR PROBLEM OCCURRED (VEHICLE ENGINE NOT TURNING OFF). THE NOT STARTING - BRAKE CONNECTION PROBLEM HAD OCCURRED IN AUG 2019 AND FEB 2020. FORD DEALER COULD NOT IDENTIFY PROBLEM IN AUG. IN FEB, PROBLEM ACCOMPANIED BY "PARKING BRAKE FAILURE" MESSAGE AND FORD REPLACED IT. NOT SURE IF IT'S PART OF THE PROBLEM AGAIN. MAJOR PROBLEM: ON ABOUT THE 4TH ATTEMPT TO START THE CAR ENGINE, THE VEHICLE ENGINE WOULD NOT POWER DOWN AND WAS NOT DRIVEABLE. POWER ON/OFF BUTTON WAS NOT RESPONSIVE TO TOUCH, THE SMALL GREEN LIGHT ON POWER BUTTON BLINKED. TWO WARNING LIGHTS APPEARED WHEN THIS OCCURRED--THE BATTERY LIGHT AND TRIANGULAR WARNING LIGHT WITH THE EXCLAMATION POINT. TURNED OFF RADIO AND AC IN RESPONSE TO LIGHTS. COULD MOVE GEAR DIAL FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND BACK BUT THERE WAS NO POWER TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN FOR LONG TIME QUIETLY SEEMINGLY ON BATTERY ALTHOUGH PANEL DIDN'T SHOW IT WAS IN HYBRID MODE. WINDOWS AND LOCKS WORKED. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT, I WAS GOING 60MPH AND WAS ONLY ABLE TO SLOW DOWN TO 40MPH. MY AIRBAGS DIDN'T EVEN GO OFF WITH SUCH A BIG IMPACT AND REAR ENDING SOMEONE, AND MY SEATBELT DIDN'T LOCK UNTIL AFTER I FLEW FORWARD HITTING THE STEERING WHEEL.

JUNE 15, 2020: I STARTED THE CAR AND IMMEDIATELY, A MIL LIGHT CAME ON AND THE COMBUSTION ENGINE IDLE WAS ROUGH (RPM GOING UP AND DOWN). WITHIN ABOUT 30 SECONDS, A MESSAGE SAYING "STOP SAFELY NOW" POPPED ON THE DASH AND WITHIN A FEW SECONDS, THE ENGINE STOPPED. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON, BUT IT DID THE SAME THING (STOP SAFELY NOW AND ENGINE STOPPING). THE CAR WAS STILL IN MY DRIVEWAY. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO DEALER, AND AFTER 8 DAYS, THE CAR WAS REPAIRED (NEW MAP SENSOR) 6/23/2020: DROVE HOME FROM DEALER (10 MI) 6/24/2020: STARTED CAR AND DROVE TO WORK. WITHIN 3 MILES, SAME "STOP SAFELY NOW" MESSAGE POPPED AND THE CAR KILLED THE ENGINE WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A MAJOR ROAD. THIS WAS A DANGEROUS SITUATION AS WHEN THE CAR DOES THAT, YOU HAVE NO BRAKE ASSISTANCE, NO POWER STEERING AND NO PROPULSION. HAD TO GET THE CAR TOWED A SECOND TIME. *TR

THE SUNROOF LEAKS INTO THE INSIDE OF THE CAR SATURATING THE HEADLINER AND THE WATER IS COMING THROUGH AND DRIPPING DIRECTLY ON THE SHIFTER, ECO BUTTON, AND THE TRACTION CONTROL BUTTON. I AM AFRAID IT'S GOING TO MESS WITH THE WIRING THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE CAR. *TR
