Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Ram 1500, Ram 2500, Ram 3500, Ram 4500, and Ram 5500 vehicles. The steering column control module may cause the driver's side air bag not to deploy as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Risk. A driver's side air bag that does not deploy as intended increases the risk of injury in a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the steering column control module, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 11, 2025. Risk. A rearview camera image that does not display decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022 Dodge Durango and Ram 2500 and 3500 vehicles. Due to a software malfunction, the ABS control module may disable the electronic stability control system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems."

Risk. Driving with a disabled electronic stability control system can increase the risk of a crash.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Ram 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis, and 4500, 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles equipped with a Cummins 6.7L Turbo Diesel engine. An electrical short may occur in the heater grid relay with the ignition on or off.

Risk. An electrical short in the relay can result in an engine compartment fire with the ignition on or off, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy. Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will replace the relay, free of charge. This will be a Phased campaign. Phase 1 will include 2023 model year vehicles. FCA US will notify dealers on or about 3/23/2023 and begin notifying owners on or about 4/5/2023. Phase 2 will include 2022 model year vehicles and Phase 3 will include 2021 model year vehicles. FCA US will notify dealers and owners on or about 4/27/2023 for Phase 2 and 5/11/2023 for Phase 3. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019-2022 Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 pickup trucks. The tailgate may not latch properly due to misaligned tailgate strikers, which could result in the tailgate opening while driving.

Risk. An unintended tailgate opening while driving may result in a loss of unsecured cargo, possibly creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.

Defect. FCA US, LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Ram 2500 and 2020-2022 Ram 3500 vehicles. A build-up of pressure and heat inside the transmission may result in a transmission fluid leak from the dipstick tube.

Risk. Leaking transmission fluid may contact an ignition source within the engine compartment, increasing the risk of a fire.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022 Ram 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis, Ram 2500, and 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles equipped with Cummins 6.7L turbo diesel engines. The engine control module (ECM) may have been built with a misaligned capacitor that can short-circuit, resulting in an internal loss of communication.

Risk. An internal loss of communication can result in a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Risk. An ESC malfunction indicator light that fails to illuminate during an electronic stability control problem can increase the risk of a crash.

The side air bag inflatable curtain (SABIC) assemblies may have been manufactured with the incorrect amount of compressed gas, which can result in an improper air bag deployment.

Risk. An air bag that deploys improperly can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Ram 3500, 2500 pickup trucks, and Ram 3500, 4500, and 5500 cab chassis vehicles equipped with Cummins 6.7L Turbo Diesel engines. An electrical short in the relay may cause a vehicle fire with the ignition on or off.

Risk. A vehicle fire increases the risk of injury.

Remedy. Owners are advised to park these vehicles outside of buildings or structures, and not near other vehicles, until the vehicle has been remedied. Dealers will inspect and, if needed, replace the Solid State Intake Heater Grid Relay ("Relay"); if FCA US Recall ID Y08 (NHTSA Recall ID 21V-163) is open, then insulating material will be applied to the Relay after inspection. I noticed that my gear shift lever was loose. I removed the boot of the shifter and found the 10mm bolt holding the shifter in place finger tight. It definitely would have fell out in a short period of time leaving the driver unable to shift into park or into any other gear. This could have been a very dangerous situation. I tightened the bolt and reinstalled the boot.

The contact owns a 2022 Ram 3500. While driving approximately 35 - 40 MPH or while reversing at undisclosed speeds, the steering wheel intermittently seized. The contact stated that after decelerating, the steering feature released and operated as needed. The failures nearly caused a crash on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and it was determined that there was moisture inside the steering sensor and that the steering sensor needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.

On the morning of August 29th around 8:10am the Ram truck caught fire under the hood with the engine/ignition off, after it was driven around the yard lot and shut off. The fire seems to have originated in the center of the engine on the drivers side of the cylinder head. Mimicking the same patterns as the recall #13A in regards to the heated grid recall that was performed in March of 2025, @121338 miles. The truck now has 157032 miles. The driver was able to extinguish the fire before the fire spread beyond the engine bay. the truck is currently locked up on site at our facility.

The contact owns a 2022 Ram Promaster 3500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH while making a left turn, the steering wheel suddenly jerked to the left and the right. The EPS warning light illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that while in reverse, the steering wheel jerked and became firm. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Additionally, while driving at various speeds and making a left or right turn, the brakes unintendedly activated while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,169.

Loss of transmission due to Aisin K1 Clutch / Input Shaft failure.

The contact owns a 2022 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while parking the vehicle, the contact unhooked the camper that was being towed and shifted the vehicle to drive(D) but the vehicle failed to move forward or backwards while in reverse(R). The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Action Number: PE24009 (Power Train). The vehicle was towed to the dealer and was diagnosed with transmission failure. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

While travelling in Southern California, I came to a stop to enter I8 on ramp. When I tried to start down the on ramp the truck didn’t want to move and a check engine light came on. The truck went into limp mode so would travel slowly along. I called Mango Auto who could diagnose it the following morning. I did not make it to the shop before the transmission failed completely and the truck wouldn’t move leaving me in traffic in a dangerous spot. Eventually I was towed to the shop in Yuma AZ. They diagnosed it as a complete transmission failure requiring a $10,000 replacement. FCA has issued an extended warranty, but my mileage is 16700 miles over. FCA has a technical bulletin on the issue with the Austin transmission, but has not but should have issued a recall. This failure To issue a recall left me stuck in a dangerous situation and could have resulted in a crash.

The contact owns a 2022 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine made abnormal knocking and ticking sounds. The knocking and ticking sounds became louder while accelerating. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the piston had ingested the grid heater nut. The mechanic replaced the piston, cylinder head assembly, gaskets, rod, gasket intake, Hamilton flat tappet conversion kit, and XDP grid heater. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 88,745.

In a 55mph car accident where the vehicle has been totaled and none of the airbags deployed

Vehicle lost drive via the transmission when it disengaged unexpectedly. Known issue that Stellantis classifies under "Customer Satisfaction Notice" instead of a recall. There are many examples of recalls issued by other manufacturers related to loss of drive via the transmission, so why is this being treated as a notice of inconvenience versus a safety issue? Issue is being addressed via a Technical Service Bulletin where units that fail are repaired after the fact versus proactively inspected and replaced.

The center infotainment stack screen refused to power up when starting the vehicle. The radio and hvac functions worked, but the screen would not turn on preventing the backup camera from functioning. Restarting the system twice and restarting the vehicle failed to get the system to function. Upon restart several hours later all systems appear to function normally. A video is available of the failure.

My 2022 Ram 3500 was manufactured without the **Particulate Matter (PM) Sensor**, a defect officially acknowledged in Recall Y43. This factory omission has caused terminal blockage of the **Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)**—a specific consequential failure documented in the manufacturer's own recall filing. **Technical Argument:** 1. **Causal Link:** The official Y43 recall notice states: *"The PM sensor... may not have been installed... This could increase vehicle emissions and **block the diesel particulate filter**."* My vehicle currently suffers from the exact "blocked DPF" condition described. 2. **Ineffective Remedy:** Stellantis has offered to install the missing sensor (the Y43 part) but refuses to replace the ruined DPF. I own this truck and have had issues with the exhaust regeneration process for about 6 months. I have taken it to the dealer 3 times and they have done diagnostics and replaced the diesel particulate filter, but the issue continues to happen. They have now told me that the system is not reparable and they don't have support from RAM manufacturer to troubleshoot and repair this issue. They have multiple customers with the same issue with the diesel exhaust system not operating properly, hampering the engine performance, damaging the engine and exhaust system, polluting from the exhaust discharge. This is a widely known issue with the 2022 Ram 3500 from other owners, yet RAM refuses to properly address the issue. They advertise their trucks with certain horsepower and output specs, which aren't accurate due to their faulty exhaust systems. Consumers are now completely removing the factoring exhaust systems because they damage the engines and cost thousands of dollars to attempt to repair, which many times never work. This needs to be addressed with RAM and recalls put in place to address the failures with their exhaust systems. My truck has 28,000 miles on it, 3 years old, and is not operable. The dealer has had 3 attempts to repair this and is now turning me away. Please help! Thank you

The contact owns a 2022 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10-15 MPH, there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the vehicle. The engine warning light was illuminated. The local dealer was contacted, and it was determined that the grid heater bolt had melted and fallen into the engine. The vehicle was repaired after two months due to the piston being on backorder. The manufacturer was contacted, but no additional assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000. The VIN was not available.

Driver of the 2022 Ram 3500 pulled out of a driveway onto a street and ran over a pedestrian who was crossing in front of him. Driver states he did not see the pedestrian. I understand the 2022 Ram 3500 is equipped with front ParkSense Sensors, but these sensors failed to deploy. The pedestrian suffered very serious injuries requiring weeks of hospitalization and additional outpatient rehabilitation. The incident is caught on surveillance camera. The vehicle should be available for inspection upon request. The vehicle has not been inspected.

I have had the seal between the transmission and transfer case replaced 3 times due to leaking since new and after each repair within miles of each repair and all prior to the vehicle reaching 50,000 miles. The last time it was repaired at 65,000 miles they decided to replace the transmission with a new transmission - it also leaked between the transmission and transfer case within 1 day and less than 100 miles.

Every month I am receiving a check engine light for abs / traction control / failure. Dealer states HPU unit is bad, however I noticed all the fuses in the fuse box were loose. I pushed them in to reseat and the error cleared. This happens monthly. This last time happened during a snow storm and disabled abs.

***1*** The emissions system on this truck (2022 Ram 3500 with 34,435 miles) has been problematic since I acquired it 5 months ago. It continually attempts to regenerate and rid itself of ash/soot buildup. If it does not successfully regenerate, it will go into a state of reduced power, also known as limp mode. The truck is available for inspection and will be at Lithia CDJR in Corpus Christi tomorrow, 07 Jan 2026. ***2*** Today specifically, the truck flashed a message EXHAUST FILTER NEARING FULL SAFELY DRIVE AT CONSISTENT SPEED TO CLEAR. I got on the highway to achieve this and avoid lights and stop/go traffic. It typically takes around 25 minutes of consistent driving for it to clear. But today, shortly after I reached highway speeds, the truck entered limp mode, displaying EXHAUST FILTER FULL REDUCED POWER SEE DEALER. This was a very alarming incident that created a bottleneck on the highway and presumably for me to nearly be rear ended as it happened at 5:35pm. I was able to safely make it off of the highway, however this incident has put the lives of all motorists on the road around me today in danger. ***3*** The truck has been inspected numerous times by the dealership. The Diesel Particulate Filter was replaced on 01 October 2025 (this was the first time the truck went into limp mode on me). The frequent regenerations continued after the DPF replacement and a sensor was replaced on 29 October 2025. Regens continue at approximately 1 per week. ***4*** This is a known

The contact owns a 2022 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was not determined. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the same dealer approximately eight times, and a loaner vehicle was provided; however, after several unknown repairs, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was previously repaired under warranty. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.

The # 4 cam bearing seized to the camshaft. Upon further investigation the #4 main bearing was damaged from metal chips that were not removed during the manufacture of the engine. This damage from the manufacturing defect left the engine block damaged beyond repair. So a short block was ordered and installed.

Lifter tick issue on 2019 to 2024 ram 6.7 engines ....lifters failing casuing excessive wear on valve train known issue major costly repair

My pm sensors or particulate matter system malfunction and failed which lead to emissions issues and created my vehicle to drive in limp mode. Limp mode basically slowed downs the vehicle is slow as 5 mph as soon as this light displays at any time while driving on the highway. This put my safety in danger and the public as I transport what dot considers a type hazardous material. The sudden loss of power in the middle of the road has made vehicles around me extremely vulnerable to fatal collisions. I took my vehicle to the dealership where they confirmed this malfunction and problem with my vehicle but no recall has been issued as of yet no warning lamps appeared prior to the failure.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 MPH, the steering wheel malfunctioned and jerked out of his hands and became difficult to turn in either direction. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the steering rack and steering rack wiring harness was faulty and needed to be replaced. The steering rack and steering rack wiring harness were replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle had previously experienced the failure, and the steering rack wiring harness was replaced, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. While driving on interstate leaving a construction zone started to accelerate to maybe 40mph and heard/felt a hard clang and lost all forward motion costed to side of interstate. Looked underneath truck, nothing visible broken or leaking. Restarted truck tried to move forward with no luck. Reverse worked, put back in drive loud noise again stomped on the accelerator and started moving forward very slow and difficult. Made it to an exit to look at things in a safer location than the busy interstate. Figured out that I had reverse and 5th gear so it was very hard/ slow to get moving. Check engine light on, gear ration incorrect, code P0731, Tran sensor failure, no 4x4 Transmission failure 1-4 gears not working

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the wiring harness connector due to water intrusion, resulting in damages to the electric power steering control module. The contact was informed that the connector seal had failed to prevent the entrance of water leading to water damage. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 20,000.

The transmission in my vehicle failed suddenly on May 31, 2025, entering “limp mode” and losing the ability to shift properly. The vehicle became immobile and was towed to the dealership. Initial diagnostics revealed difficulty shifting between 3rd and 4th gears. Service technicians attempted repair in June based on RAM TSB MC-10231775, which indicated snap ring failure in the Aisin transmission. Repairs prescribed in TSB were attempted but unsuccessful, as the vehicle still could not shift into 4th gear. Additional parts were ordered, and another repair was unsuccessfully attempted in late June. Ram has shipped a new transmission which we are waiting on the dealership to install.

My 2022 RAM 3500 has repeated failures of the diesel particulate filter (DPF) system. The truck enters limp mode unexpectedly, including while towing on the interstate, creating a serious safety hazard due to sudden loss of power. Since purchasing the vehicle, I have experienced ongoing issues with the emissions system, specifically related to the DPF. The check engine light comes on frequently, and diagnostic scans consistently show code P2459 (Diesel Particulate Filter Regeneration Frequency Too High). The DPF system has been replaced approximately five times by authorized RAM dealer. Despite these repairs, the same problem continues to occur. The truck will sometimes enter limp mode without warning, drastically reducing engine power. This has happened while towing a camper on the interstate, making it difficult or impossible to maintain safe highway speeds or accelerate when needed. This puts me, my passengers, and other motorists at risk of a crash, particularly when merging or changing lanes in fast-moving traffic. I have already pursued and settled a claim with Stellantis (RAM’s manufacturer) for $10k due to these issues. However, the problem persists, and the root cause has not been resolved. Accepting the settlement was recommended by legal counsel. The failure has occurred on multiple occasions (at least five separate incidents). The vehicle has undergone several service visits and emissions system replacements, but the safety issue continues. Current mileage 42,000.

Transmission failure while driving not allowing to go in park after we got stopped. Truck un operable to get out of traffic.

The contact owns a 2022 Ram 3500. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH during the rain, the windshield wipers suddenly failed to operate as needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the park switch wiring had failed. The wiring was replaced; however, the failure remained. The dealer determined that the Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) had failed and DTC: B2303/11; was retrieved. The contact stated that the VCM was repaired; however, the failure remained. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 161,000.

The contact owns a 2022 Ram 3500. The contact stated while driving 40-45 MPH and hauling a 14-ft loaded trailer, the engine made an abnormally loud knocking sound. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the residence, where a mobile independent mechanic diagnosed that the grid heater nut had melted and entered cylinder #6. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the grid heater nut failure had caused catastrophic failure of the pistons, turbo charger, and engine. The dealer determined that the engine assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the repair could not be covered under warranty due to the mileage on the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 112,700.

Trailer brake controler will report not connected when it is connected correctly. Systemm was tested and everything on the trailer is working properly. system was working corretly and suddenly stopped when on the interstate. Have had multiple shops look at the issue and no one can locate the issue. The radio/infotanment system will also disconnect radomly. Both act like a wire is lose. disconnect then reconnect and disconnect and reconnect, over and over. The radio disconnecting from the phone is an issue however not a safety concern like the trailer brake issue is. When I am pulling a 16,000 pound camper and the trailer brake stops that means I no longer have traler brakes and that can be an issue when stopping.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who observed that the steering wheel reached temperatures of more than 120-145 degrees. However, after consulting with the manufacturer, the dealer informed the contact that the feature was operating as intended and within specifications. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was unknown.

Emission system failure. Code P2459 Regeneration Frequency. Overheating of the DPF while stuck in regen cycle causes burning smell and diesel fumes in the cabin while driving. Suspected vehicle on fire. Date of incident 01/25/2025. Vehicle at dealership for repair 01/28/2025. Dealership repair unsuccessful following STAR approved process of elimination. Vehicle returned to dealer 02/18/2025 for same issue. Many customers with 2019-2022 diesel engines having same issue. No known fix according to dealership.

Intermittent fault causing ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC), SERVICE BRAKES, cruise control, to disable while driving.

Firestone trans force Ht. 275/70R18 These tires came from factory on my Dodge Ram. The truck is around two years old and only with 13,500 miles on it. All four tires are failing and cracking on the side walls. I know earlier models of the same exact tire was recalled for the same issue.

Intermittent abs and traction control alarm. Very random and can come on without notice. Similar issue to the recall issued in September for the 1500 ram.

Started getting an alarm for abs and traction control alarm with 15000 miles, it would come and go every few thousand miles. Truck now has 44000 miles and the alarm has appeared twice in the past 4000 miles. This almost caused an accident as it disables the abs at any given time. The dealer says it is the Hydraulic Control Unit.

ABS LIGHT IS ON I HAVE A PROBLEM WHIT THE ABS MODULE

On 9 September, while driving, I got an emergency dashboard notice that stated Throttle System Malfunction contact dealer. It went out and then another immediately flashed that stated Exhaust System Malfunction contact dealer. The vehicle lost power within seconds after the second notice. I coasted to a stop on the side of the road. Once stopped, smoke quickly started coming out of the engine compartment and then flames. I contacted 911, an engine arrived but the truck was fully engaged and completely burnt.

The UCONNECT digital center display occasionally goes completely dark or shuts off. Sometimes displays an error message like "uconnect box requires service". This display is essential for managing everything from air conditioning to music and navigation. When the windshield fogs up and you need to adjust airflow while driving for visibility, this malfunction can be distracting and pose a safety hazard. Additionally, the rear backup camera fails to function when the screen is blank, which is particularly concerning in this long-bed truck when reversing in parking lots. This issue has been presented to the dealer, and the vehicle has been dropped off for service. Initially, the problems were minor, such as difficulties with CarPlay connectivity and the screen rebooting, but I could not replicate the issue. However, it has since escalated, occurring with every trip, and the dealer is now able to observe the problem firsthand.

Transmission failed in heavy interstate traffic while towing 35 ft 15,000 lbs RV. My RAM 3500 only has 19,000 miles and is still under new vehicle warranty. The event: While travelling on Washington DC beltway in lane 3 of 4 without warning my transmission starting slipping. No abnormal noise, no dash lamps warning of an issue. The vehicle was towed to a local RAM dealer as my wife and I waited on the highway with RV for second tow service. This all could have been avoided. Why was a TSB or recall already in place? RAM has many transmission failures on the 2022 Aisin transmission noted on RAM truck forums. I had read about it but considered myself lucky as I was almost 2 years driving truck without any problems. My safety, my wife and tow truck drivers safety were put at considerable risk due to Stellantis not alerting RAM dealers of a potential transmission failure. While driving around 20 mph, suddenly heard a clunk, then several dashboard warning lights came on. Truck suddenly had no torque- would only move forward if the engine was revved at much more than normal amount. Nearly complete loss of ability to accelerate from a stop/low speeds. Took to an independent service center who ran the ODB codes, showing the now well-known issue of "transmission failure gears 1-4" Warning lamps include the lane sense and check engine lights, and a message on the dash that reads ACC not available, Automatic high beams not available. Prior to this, no problems with the truck at all. I am trying to arrange getting it towed to a dealership.
