Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Ram 1500 Pickup, Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis, Ram 4500 Cab Chassis, and Ram 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles. A software error may cause the instrument panel display to fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards numbers 102, "Transmission Shift Position Sequence," 105, "Hydraulic and Electric Brake Systems," 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment," 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems for Light Vehicles," 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems," 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring System," and/or 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Risk. An instrument panel display that fails to show critical safety information, such as gear selection and warning lights, increases the risk of a crash.

Due to an improperly designed trailer tow module, the trailer lights may fail to illuminate and the trailer brakes may fail.

Risk. Trailer brake lights and turn signals that do not illuminate reduce visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, trailer brakes that fail increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the trailer tow module, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning March 17, 2026. A software error may cause the gear selection display to be inaccurate. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Control and Displays."

Risk. An inaccurate gear selection display may mislead the driver as to what gear is actually selected, leading to unexpected vehicle movement and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will update the cluster software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 22, 2025. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 36C.

All of my dash board light lit up. I stop the truck turn it off. when I get back in to drive it would not engage the transmission. No reverse No drive and the engine would not shut off. Happened about two weeks ago. the first time what in December, Same problem! they say it just needed a software flash, but if that was the case why would it happen again, and why would they need another software flash ?

Upon start up of the vehicle multiple warning codes appear; ABS turned off, 4 wheel drive temporarily disabled, Stability turned off, front and rear parking sensors disabled, Cruise Control disabled (in all forms). If vehicle is put into drive, or issue happens when the vehicle is already in drive; Unable to detect selected gear (switching from Drive/Reverse into Park) which results in not being able to turn the vehicle off.

The contact owns a 2025 Ram 3500. The contact stated that shortly after purchasing the vehicle brand new and filling the fuel tank on December 3, 2025, the DEF depth gauge failed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the module was reprogrammed and the physical gauge was replaced. However, the contact obtained internal service notes revealing that the urea pump, the DEF tank, the urea tank wiring harness, the DEF injector, and the fluid had actually been replaced due to an active fuel leak within the DEF system. On March 31, 2026, the vehicle was taken back to the dealer to address a malfunctioning digital rearview mirror. While at the dealer, a recall repair was performed under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V882000 (Air Bags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC)). The digital mirror was replaced; however, the failure recurred immediately. In May 2026, the vehicle was returned to the dealer for the ongoing mirror issue; however, the service notes only indicated that a part adjustment was performed, and the defect persisted. The contact then took the vehicle to a second dealer to repair the digital mirror and address the DEF system, as the warning light had re-illuminated on the instrument panel. During this visit, the second dealer performed a recall repair under NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V059000 (Exterior Lighting, Electrical System). When driving the Anti lock brakes, cruise control, front and rear collision warning system, automatic emergency breaking system and lane keeping system are disabled. All of these alerts are displayed on the display cluster. All of these systems are disabled at the same time. I was told by the dealership that this is caused by a faulty Wheel Speed Sensor. The Wheel Speed Sensors have been replaced 3 times and have not fixed this problem. This has happened when towing a 14,000lbs trailer and the stability of the truck and load are compromised when breaking with a load.

I have been submitting reports to you for several months with no resolution. The truck yet again experienced the same problem, twice, within 1 week. It would start but then claim that it couldn't detect what gear it was in and said "can't shut off until transmission is in park". After cutting electrical power to get it to shut off, it would not start. After getting it started, it would not go into gear. Once I got the engine running and transmission to go into gear, it no longer had ABS.

From the first day i bought the truck i noticed it had a very tight vibration coming from the rear. I thought its may just be the Firestone tires that were put on at the factory. I had to drive out of state to a small town in Nevada. After around 3500 miles the vibration became severe and felt like i had a tire seperating. I called the nearest tire centers/shops within about 100 miles of my location. None carried the firestone transforce tires. So i traveled to the Nearest shop around 60 miles and the certified tech and managed assisted me. The did an inspection and found the tire was scalloped and damaged. Due to the size difference in the tires the shop had available, i had to purchase 4 tires they had in stock. When the tech and manager roadforced the wheels and tires he discovered one of the wheels had a defect and was not actually round and had a slight “out of round” defect starting from the hub mount center bead that extended to the outer circumference causing the rim”wheel” to be out of round which is how the tire was severely damaged. An out of round wheel can cause tire failure and thus, a safety issue. To date as i write this report, i have tried twice with a dealership to try to resolve this issue under the warranty.

3 times to date (10,000 miles/8 months) I have failing abs speed sensors. If I stop moving when all lights come on dash the truck is in operational. I cannot shift gears, put in park or turn engine off. Loose traction control, ads, 4wd, stabiltrac, speedometer. All assitive and braking functions. Code U1412. Dealer replaces speed sensors but problem returns.

There have been a couple of instances where the running boards haven’t deployed when the door has been opened. The most recent caused my 10yr old to FALL OUT IF THE TRUCK and get injured. I believe the combination that is causing it is to get in the truck, hit acc and get I’ll all windows down. Then turn off the acc and stay seated in the truck for some time. Then open the door from inside and they don’t deploy…

My ram truck will intermittently have a Christmas tree of warning lights on the instrument cluster, which occur while driving. During these periods, I do not have access to four-wheel-drive, accident avoidance, antilock brakes, etc. If I continue driving the truck for the remainder of the day, the lights will usually go off, but will be stored in the vehicles PCM. the dealership has previously evaluated this and reports that they cannot fix or evaluate the vehicle because there is not an active warning light when I bring it to the dealership. However, when these lights occur, I could be towing a heavy trailer and have no access to the truck safety systems until the lights correct itself. This has occurred more than once. I do not take photos of the lights each time. The photo included is only one of the times. The last time I believe this occurred was on 1/29/2026. Each episode are the exact same warning lights.

The truck had about 7400 miles on it. It gave a warning that the DPF was near full and take it to dealer, about 20 minutes late it said DPF full power reduced. Two days later it cleared that code and began flashing the turn signal intermittently and giving warnings that the trailer brakes were not working, then that the tailgate was down. Shortly after that the instrument cluster went completely blank. I was driving it to the dealer when it ran out of fuel and forced me to stop on the highway. The vehicle has been at the dealer for almost 4 months now. When they replaced the dash cluster it would take too long to start. They replaced multiple modules and I believe three dash clusters before declaring it repaired. I picked it up for a test drive and the frontal collision warning came on intermittently along with a warning that automatic wipers would not work. I took it back. While at the dealership they reported to me that it developed additional issues and would not shift into gear. It is still at the dealership in Pine Bluff AR.

Recall 26V-059 Brake lights and brakes don’t work sometimes. Dealer has no parts. Will not tell me when parts are coming. This is a serious issue and I need it fixed. It should not take this long.

While driving with a trailer after leaving a jobsite in [XXX] , the vehicle experienced a sudden electrical failure while in motion. The instrument cluster/speedometer screen went completely black and the vehicle lights stopped functioning properly while driving at night. During the incident, we lost the speedometer display and visibility from the vehicle lighting system, creating a serious safety hazard while towing a trailer on public roads. Because of the electrical failure, we were forced to pull off on the side of the road to avoid a potentially dangerous situation. After shutting the truck down and waiting approximately one hour, the vehicle was restarted and the systems eventually began functioning again. This vehicle is used regularly for commercial towing and jobsite operations. A sudden loss of instrument display, lighting systems, and electrical functionality while towing creates a major safety concern for both the occupants of the vehicle and surrounding traffic. The failure appeared intermittent because the vehicle resumed operation after sitting for a period of time. However, the incident involved complete loss of critical vehicle display and lighting systems while driving. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Trailer Brake Module recall was completed. Now getting random error messages and lights advising trailer disconnected, etc. even without a trailer being hooked to the truck.

While driving my truck under normal conditions and using the turn signals as expected, I noticed an issue after parking in my driveway. The turn signals began activating automatically without any driver input, alternating from left to right approximately every 5 seconds. The behavior stopped once I manually engaged the turn signal lever. The dealer determined that the instrument panel needed to be replaced; however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer informed the contact that the estimated time for availability was May 11, 2026. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was unavailable.

The contact received a recall notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V059000 (Exterior Lighting, Electrical System); however, when the local dealer was contacted, the contact was informed that the manufacturer was shipping a very limited number of parts to dealers for the repair. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was informed that the dealer should request an expedited shipment. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had not experienced a failure.

I received notification of a safety recall on my 2025 Ram 3500 (NHTSA Recall Number26V-059) which affects the trailer lights and braking system. I contacted my dealership to schedule the repair and was told that it would be about 6+ months before they could get to me. The dealership has 30+ trucks on their lot, and the manufacturer is only allowing them to order 1 replacement part per week, so they aren't fixing sold trucks until those 30+ unsold trucks are fixed, which will take 30+ weeks. I'm submitting this online complaint because I tow a large trailer regularly and I don't feel that 6+ months is an appropriate time period for fixing a recall and I don't think that fixing unsold trucks should take priority over fixing trucks that are actively being driven every day.

The dealer replaced two batteries, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer, but the cause of the failure was not duplicated. On another occasion, while driving approximately 50 MPH and hauling a trailer, there were several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the contact heard a loud banging coming from the engine compartment before the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to a different dealer, where it was diagnosed with transmission failure. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.

The contact noticed the failure on the drive back after the vehicle was purchased. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake lights and turn signals failed to function as intended. The contact lived in a rural area and stated that at night it is dark, and the brake lights nor the turn signals were operable. The contact felt that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The local dealer was contacted, and the contact was informed that the parts for the recall repair were available. However, the parts were allocated to unsold vehicles first, and there was no estimated time for the recall part to be available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed with the dealer about the part not being available. The contact was informed that the recall part was blocked from manual ordering. The failure mileage was approximately 500.

There is a recall for the trailer brake control and trailer wiring for light. I bought the truck to tow my 5th wheel trailer and have travel plans starting in march of this year.. ram has put a stop sale on 450k trucks because of this recall. The dealers are fixing the unsold trucks on the lot before they fix customer vehicles that have already been purchased. All the dealerships in Arizona are telling me it could be 3-6 months before my truck is fixed.. so I can’t safely tow a trailer or go on my trips. So basically I have a 1 ton truck that is useless to tow a trailer

Contacted local Dodge dealer for repair of the below known part issue. They stated they are only receiving 1 unit/week to be able to replace and the repair could be weeks out. While driving down the street between 0 and 35 mph, with no load in the truck and no trailer attached, the trailer brake controller quite working completely and a service message appeared. The dealership ended up replacing the trailer brake gain adjustment switch. Had I been towing a trailer at the time, I would have had zero trailer brakes. I've had this message reappear several times since then. I've attached a picture showing both the message on the gauge cluster as well as a scan of the trouble codes at that time.

Multiple times at random the vehicle will display an alert on the dash that the 4X4 system, anti lock breaks, adaptive breaking as well as forward and rear collision sensors and cruise control are all disabled. This has happened 5 times now. I have taken the vehicle into the dealership and they stated that the rear Wheel Speed Sensors" were bad and replaced them. Since the wheel sensors have been replaced ( less than 200 miles ago) this system has triggered the same alert and conditions 2 more times. This is a very dangerous situation for a vehicle that is made for towing heavy trailers and loads.

The warning lights on the dashboard come on when driving. ABS, VSC, 4WD, automatic emergency braking etc. are all shut down when this happens. The lights may stay on for a few days or turn off at the next restart with only a check engine light remaining on. It has been back to two different the Ram dealer for repairs 4 times for this issue. Starting out on 04/25/2025 at 419 miles, the last time was 12/22/2025 at 3,677 miles. They have replaced several sensors and updated the computer several times, yet the problem still persists. It may be fine for several hundred miles or it may happen several times in one hundred miles. At this point the dealer doesn't seem to know what more to do.

On January 14, 2026, while starting my 2025 RAM 3500 with approximately 4,000 miles on the vehicle, the digital instrument cluster completely failed to function. After the engine started and the vehicle was running, the dashboard continued to display “Press Brake and Press Button to Start,” as if the vehicle had not started. All gauges and indicators were inoperative, including the speedometer, tachometer, warning lights, and vehicle information displays. Although the vehicle could be driven and exterior turn signals were functioning, there was no indication on the instrument cluster. No speed, engine RPM, or warning alerts were visible to the driver. After driving the vehicle home and allowing it to sit for a period of time, the vehicle was restarted and the instrument cluster returned to normal operation, indicating an intermittent failure. Based on known issues reported with digital instrument cluster failures, this appears to be a potential electrical and/or software-related defect. In addition to the instrument cluster failure, the vehicle has experienced electrical issues related to trailer lighting. When towing a new trailer equipped with LED lights, the running lights would not function when connected to this truck, although the trailer lighting worked properly when connected to other vehicles. The trailer was taken to the manufacturer’s shop for a full inspection, which confirmed the trailer was functioning properly and identified the truck as the source of the issue

On 12/15/2015 my 2025 RAM 3500 at 30180 miles had a Trailer communication problem with Running lights on trailer not working. It was sent to RAM dealership in Albany, OR. They diagnosed that the Integrated Trailer control module was at fault. It was replaced and passed working operation, On 12/30/25 Ram was connected to Trailer. The Trailer seemed to be fully operational and about 5 miles down the road the Running lights stoped working again. I had trailed tested and no electrical issues were found. Had 7 way trailer pin in Ram tested and showed 12V power but no out for Running lights. Schedule another appointment to go to Wilson Ram in Corvallis, OR. The ran another diagnostic test on it and found it was fully operational and they could not duplicate the issue I was having. As the Ram gets closer to warranty being expired and I use this Ram for business hauling a trailer that it’s a safety issue when Running lights don’t work. I feel that RAM needs to address this problem sooner than later. I will be getting my Ram back on 01/09/2026 and We’ll connect to Trailer once again and see if itheir is no issues this time. I feel a recall should be in place to resolve the problem with a new harness, brake controller and all modules for Trailer Tow system. As a consumer having down time due to having to go back for diagnostics all parts should be replaced if one part of the system has failed. Is it not only a safety issue it can impact business owners who Need their Vehicle to operate

Bad wheel speed sensor which disables ABS, cruise control, and all the ADAS systems. Vehicle has been to dealer 5 times for this in less than 8 months. Stellantis takes over a month to replace the part. Vehicle also will not shut off and/or be able to move while this happens.

2025 ram 3500 dual rear wheel truck has intermittent anti lock brake failure . As well as traction control, forward collision warning/assist, lane departure, high beam headlights, and other safety systems. The dealership has tried to fix these issues 8 or more times, with no success. It is illegal for Ram and Stellantis to put customers back into vehicles with anti lock brake failures. In wet/slick/or hard braking situations, loss of anti lock brakes is dangerous to my family as well as other drivers on the roads. And that danger increases when towing a large trailer when the failure happens. The dealership and Stellantis/Ram know of these problems with 2025-26 dual rear wheel Ram pickups.

The contact owns a 2025 Ram 3500. The contact stated that the front passenger's side, rear passenger's side, and driver's side seat belt reminder (SBR) system was inoperable. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where a third-party engineer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the vehicle was only designed with a front driver's seat belt reminder (SBR). The manufacturer later informed the contact that Ram engineers had confirmed that the vehicle was operating as designed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 18.

Brand new truck (497 miles) while driving on freeway at 70 mph, truck kicked out of cruise control and threw traction control, adaptive cruise control, 4wd, check engine, and anti lock brakes disabled fault lights and codes. The vehicle will disable all these safety features for 30-50 miles, and then the faults will randomly disappear except for the check engine light. This has happened 10-12 times. This truck has had 4-5 “ram cares” case numbers, has been at the dealership for over a month combined. The faulty part supposedly is a right rear wheel speed sensor on the 12” dually axles. There is hundreds if not thousands of these trucks affected. Stellantis/ram says the sensor is has been updated, but is currently not built or for sale., there is a national backorder. We are being told to drive these trucks while ram comes up with a fix. These speed sensors affect systems that have been federally mandated since September of 2012 (anti lock brakes). They are putting customers and other drivers on the road in danger with the intermittent failure of the brakes and traction control in wet conditions.

I have experienced two major issues. The dash cluster went blank. Not able to see any of the gauges. Vehicle ran, drove. Turned the truck on and off. Opening & closing the door to power off the truck. 15+/- minutes for the dash to return to normal. Supposedly an update to the program is pending. Second and major issue; while backing up, the truck came to a stop by itself, blocking an intersection. I was not able to place the truck in any gear. Warning light notified me that the truck was not in park. We were unable to push the truck out of the intersection. The dealer says when the "Wheel Speed Sensor" failed the truck is programed to be immobilized. I have recently returned from a trip to the Rockies pulling a 35 foot 5th wheel RV. I have traveled several mountain roads. One 12 mile stretch with a 8% grade. Had the wheel sensors failed on any of these roads the chance of and accident were great. Potentially deadly. This is a known issue. Ram has decided to use the newly redesigned parts for production of new vehicles. No parts are available or estimated ship date. My truck has been towed to Capitol Ram of Garner, NC and will sit until Ram decides to provide parts. Part numbers: 68646345AA Left & 68646344AA Right

Ton of warning lights can on like abs, traction control and some other sensors. When put in Drive the D flashed and try k would not move. Put back in park would not recognize it was in park and would not shut off. The only way to shut off the truck with disconnect both batteries and pull the fuse for the fuel pump.
