Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2016-2019 Ram 3500, Ram 1500, 2016-2020 Ram 2500, and 2016 Ram 3500 Cab Chassis vehicles. The right and left side curtain air bag inflators may rupture due to a manufacturing defect.

Risk. An inflator rupture may result in sharp metal fragments striking occupants, resulting in injury.

Remedy. Dealers will replace one or both side curtain air bags, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 13, 2025. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's numbers for this recall are 05C, 09C, and 10C.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, 3500 Cab Chassis, 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles. The hydraulic control unit (HCU) may fail, which can cause the anti-lock brake (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), and traction control systems to fail.

Risk. A loss of anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, or traction control can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the brake HCU, or replace the HCU motor, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed January 9, 2025. Some owner notification letters were mailed January 9, 2025. The remaining owner notification letters will be mailed at a future date, anticipated October 2026. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2012-2021 RAM 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis, 4500 Cab Chassis, and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles. Incorrect information in the Service and Owner's Manuals may cause the flanged lug nuts to be over-tightened, which could result in a broken wheel stud and possible wheel separation.

Risk. Wheel separation can cause a vehicle crash.

Remedy. Dealers will update the torque specification in the owner's manual and other published service documents. Dealers will also inspect the vehicle's wheel studs, replacing them if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on November 30, 2021. Campaign Y36 owner notification letters were mailed on November 30, 2021. Campaign Y26 owner notification letters were mailed on December 1, 2021. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks equipped with an 8 foot bed and a power locking tailgate. Chrysler is also recalling all 2013-2014 and 2018 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks built before April 1, 2018 with a 6 or 8 foot bed and a power locking tailgate. On August 29, 2019 Chrysler expanded the recall to include an additional 693,128 model year 2013-2014 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks. The tailgate actuator limiter tab may fracture and cause the tailgate to unlatch and open while driving.

Risk. If the tailgate opens while the vehicle is being driven, cargo may fall out the vehicle and create a road hazard, increasing the risk of crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will repair the tailgate latch, free of charge. The recall began May 23, 2019. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2013-2018 Ram 3500 and 2014-2018 Ram 3500 Chassis Cab and Ram 2500 vehicles. The outboard steering linkage jam nut may loosen, allowing one end of the drag link to separate.

Risk. A drag link separation can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will check the steering linkage jam nut tightness, replacing the drag link assembly or welding the nut to the adjuster sleeve, free of charge. The recall began March 22, 2019. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is V06.

Defect. Streetcar ORV LLC (Streetcar) is recalling certain American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) 3" Dualsport aftermarket suspension kits, part numbers N0436000 and N0436001, sold for installation on 2013-2018 RAM 2500 and 3500HD trucks. Improper installation and machining of the original equipment steering knuckle may weaken the joint between the steering drag link and knuckle.

Risk. The weakened connection may result in a fractured steering drag link, causing a loss of steering and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Streetcar will notify owners and dealers will inspect and install a new steering knuckle, free of charge. The recall began December 3, 2018. Owners may contact AEV customer service at 1-248-926-0256, extension 500.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2015-2017 RAM 1500, 2500, and 3500 pickup trucks equipped with a power locking tailgate and either a 5 foot, 7 inch or 6 foot, 4 inch bed. The tailgate actuator limiter tab may fracture and cause the tailgate to unlatch and open while driving.

Risk. If the tailgate latch releases and the tailgate opens while driving, cargo may fall out, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will repair the vehicle, free of charge. The recall began September 17, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is U74.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

Risk. If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the software, and perform a software flash on the engine or powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began June 4, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Note: Owners are advised to stop using cruise control until the software update has been performed. In the event that cruise control cannot be disengaged while driving, owners should firmly and steadily apply the brakes and shift the transmission to neutral, placing the vehicle in park once it has stopped.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2017-2018 RAM 1500, 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis, 4500 Cab Chassis, and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles, all equipped with a column shifter. Pushing the brake pedal for prolonged periods when the vehicle is running and in PARK may cause the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) pin to stick in the open position. With the pin in the open position, the transmission can be shifted out of PARK into any gear without pushing the brake pedal or having the key in the ignition.

Risk. Being able to shift the transmission without pushing the brake pedal and/or without a key in the ignition can increase the risk of an unintended vehicle rollaway that may result in personal injury or a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners and dealers will update the Body Control Module software. Dealers will also test the BTSI operation, replacing the solenoid as necessary. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling various Dodge, Chrysler, and RAM vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V824-0103.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Risk. If the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury in the event of a fire.

I own a 2017 Ram Laramie Longhorn dual-rear-wheel truck with an open recall (NHTSA Campaign 24V896000, Chrysler code C4B) that was issued in November 2024. The dealership has no parts available and RAM Customer Care recommends a "service part" which is also not available. Confirmation from the dealership involves leaving my truck at the service center for several days with no loaner car, which I can not afford to do for work. I am having intermittent warning lights for my Anti-lock Braking System and Traction Control which are directly associated with the above-mentioned recall. I often tow with this vehicle and this issue is now an active safety system problem associated with the recall that makes this vehicle dangerous to drive if the hydraulic unit fails while towing or when driving, the safety systems of Traction Control, Anti-lock Braking System, and Electronic Stability Control will not function. Please help.

Recall on anti lock brake system been on wait list for over a year and Ram is not even attempting to fix my truck I have called and talk to Jessica with Ram back in October of 2025 was told part would be available in February of 2026 still no part I have no cruise control and my auto start won’t work with the lights on the dash I don’t know what else to do I just want my truck fixed

Subject: Safety Recall Remedy Unavailable Due to Lack of Parts I am submitting this complaint regarding my Ram truck, VIN [XXX], which is subject to a Stellantis safety recall involving the C4B Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU). Although Stellantis has acknowledged this as a safety-related defect and issued a recall, I have been unable to obtain the required repair because replacement parts are not available. After multiple attempts of inquiring for a repair, my dealership has informed me that there is no estimated date when the hydraulic control unit will be available. This situation leaves me with a vehicle that is subject to an unresolved safety recall, yet neither the manufacturer nor the dealer can provide the required remedy within a reasonable timeframe. The recall involves a critical braking system component that affects the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Traction Control System. These are essential safety systems designed to help maintain vehicle control during emergency braking and adverse driving conditions. I tow a 16K lb fifth wheel and the risk is unacceptable for the past 18 months-not to mention the constant dinging of the warning, light, inability to use cruise control, and the inability to trade in or sell the vehicle. I am concerned that Stellantis has initiated this recall without ensuring that an adequate supply of replacement parts is available to promptly repair affected vehicles. The contact stated that an employee parked the vehicle in front of an apartment complex, went inside the building to finish working; when the employee returned outside the building, the vehicle was on fire. No warning lights illuminated prior to the fire. The employee saw smoke and flames coming from the engine compartment. The Fire Department was contacted, arrived on scene, and extinguished the fire. No injuries were sustained. A Police report was not filed. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was destroyed. The vehicle was towed to an undisclosed location. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 109,000.

The HCU ABS is malfunctioning causing the cruise control to not work along with anti lock brake functions. This could cause a brake malfunction leading to a crash. We have received the recall notice, C4B/NHTSA 24V-896 over a year ago. We have contacted the local dealer several times during that year, including May 21, 2026. No effort has been made by the dealer to change the defective part and we have been told no parts are available and no delivery date can be given to change the part. Meanwhile we are forced to drive a vehicle with the potential to cause a crash. Please take action to help us.

The issue involves the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and hydraulic control unit on our 2017 Ram 3500. Grid heater bolt broke while towing our camper and destroyed our engine while traveling through Virginia!

The contact owns a 2017 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while in reverse(R), the rear-view camera image was blue. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the rear-view camera or the wiring harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted and informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V398000 (Back Over Prevention). The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

My ABS hydraulic control unit pump motor is not working properly. This has been affecting me since Oct 2024 when we were pulling our 5th wheel and losing braking and power. I learned later that It is part of a NHTSA Recall 24V-896000. Code C4B I was told by the Dodge dealer Jack Powell in [XXX] that I was on waitlist when I reported it to them 12/19/2024. During the next several months I always got the same answer so then filed a case on 7/7/2025 with the FCA. Case #XXX. During many calls after, and including the last call on 3/27/26 that the part was not available, that this was a National backorder with no ETA. I filed another case on 8/17/25 for a rental vehicle - case #XXX. After several calls I got that approved. The Dodge dealer diagnosed my truck with that active code in place. Also to be clear, the dealer has confirmed failure of the ABS system, which disables safety features Due to this defect, the truck can lose ABS braking, tractional control and electronic stability control. The dash warning lights come on all the time, with the sound too. Although I was approved for a rental vehicle, that is for $60 per day and only for a non-tow vehicle. The problem is that this vehicle is primarily used for towing. I have a 5th wheel hitch and use it for towing our 5th wheel trailer, that we purchase early 2024. We tow our boat as well. The bigger problem is that I am near retirement and we are not able to use our 5th wheel for the trips to prepare for that and the plan to trav

While driving loss of abs/traction control. Loss of cruise control. Audible distraction ding while driving with warning messages.

Possible grounding issue. Seat heat inoperative, steering wheel buttons inoperative or incorrect response. Interior lights flickering. Hands free function engaged without prompts.

I have been trying to get a ram dealer to fix the hcu unit under recall. All I get is no remedy available, im driving a truck with an open “ safety recall” that’s been a recall for over a year. I never stop listening to warning buzzers and flashing alarm lights.
