Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Ram 1500, Ram 2500, Ram 3500, Ram 4500, and Ram 5500 vehicles. The steering column control module may cause the driver's side air bag not to deploy as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Risk. A driver's side air bag that does not deploy as intended increases the risk of injury in a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the steering column control module, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 11, 2025. The radio software may prevent the rearview image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk. A rearview camera image that does not display decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will update the radio software or the software will be OTA, "Over-The-Air," free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning July 9, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's numbers for this recall are 66B and 79B.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022 Dodge Durango and Ram 2500 and 3500 vehicles. Due to a software malfunction, the ABS control module may disable the electronic stability control system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems."

Risk. Driving with a disabled electronic stability control system can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will update the ABS control module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning July 11, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 55B.

The radio software may prevent the rearview image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk. A rearview camera that does not display an image reduces the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will update the radio software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 24, 2023. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 97A.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Ram 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis, and 4500, 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles equipped with a Cummins 6.7L Turbo Diesel engine. An electrical short may occur in the heater grid relay with the ignition on or off.

Risk. An electrical short in the relay can result in an engine compartment fire with the ignition on or off, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy. Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will replace the relay, free of charge. This will be a Phased campaign. Phase 1 will include 2023 model year vehicles. FCA US will notify dealers on or about 3/23/2023 and begin notifying owners on or about 4/5/2023. Phase 2 will include 2022 model year vehicles and Phase 3 will include 2021 model year vehicles. FCA US will notify dealers and owners on or about 4/27/2023 for Phase 2 and 5/11/2023 for Phase 3. Interim owner notification letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed March 28, 2023. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 5, 2023. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019-2022 Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 pickup trucks. The tailgate may not latch properly due to misaligned tailgate strikers, which could result in the tailgate opening while driving.

Risk. An unintended tailgate opening while driving may result in a loss of unsecured cargo, possibly creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect the tailgate striker alignment to the box latch and adjust, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 22, 2022. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is ZB8.

Defect. FCA US, LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Ram 2500 and 2020-2022 Ram 3500 vehicles. A build-up of pressure and heat inside the transmission may result in a transmission fluid leak from the dipstick tube.

Risk. Leaking transmission fluid may contact an ignition source within the engine compartment, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the transmission dipstick and transmission vent assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 29, 2022. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is ZA3.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022 Ram 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis, Ram 2500, and 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles equipped with Cummins 6.7L turbo diesel engines. The engine control module (ECM) may have been built with a misaligned capacitor that can short-circuit, resulting in an internal loss of communication.

Risk. An internal loss of communication can result in a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

The ABS control module software may prevent the electronic stability control (ESC) malfunction indicator light from illuminating during certain conditions. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems."

Risk. An ESC malfunction indicator light that fails to illuminate during an electronic stability control problem can increase the risk of a crash.

The contact owns a Rexing R4 MD 4-Channel Dash Camera purchased at Walmart. The camera was designed with a 4-channel dash camera system used to record the front, rear, left, and right sides of the vehicle simultaneously. The contact stated that after installing the camera on a 2022 Ram 2500, the unit failed to turn off as intended and remained continuously powered and overheated. The contact expressed safety concerns that the failure presented a fire hazard. The contact attempted to notify the manufacturer via email and telephone at 877-740-8004; however, no response was received, and the telephone number was recently out of service.

The contact owns a 2022 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while attempting to exit the vehicle, the front driver's door became inoperable. The window and door actuator failed to function during the failure, requiring the contact to repeatedly pull the door handle and engage the actuator to exit the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that a piece of plastic near the wiring caused the wiring to fail, and the wiring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact expressed concern that the failure was hazardous due to a disability and presented a safety risk in the event of an emergency. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

I have dead pedal going on with my truck and when pulling out into traffic and truck does not go almost get hit by oncoming traffic and cause an accident and could end up deadly when the truck just losses the possibility to be limited to truck not being able to accelerate because it is having issues with the computer communicating with the sensor on the truck.

The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with a loss of power steering assist caused by water intrusion into the power steering module connector. The dealer informed the contact that there was no warranty coverage on the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer confirmed that there was no warranty coverage for the repair. My vehicle was brought to my dealership for service on December 13, 2024, and again on January 13, 2026, due to a recurring Uconnect software/application failure. The system repeatedly displayed the message: “Uconnect Box requires service. Please visit an authorized dealer.” Over time this message continuously reappears while driving even after acknowledging the message earlier. This message would overlay critical driving information such as navigation, engine status, and trailer towing data. This message forces the driver to divert my attention from the road to locate and press “OK” on the screen, creating an ongoing and unacceptable safety hazard. I believe this distraction qualifies as a valid safety issue, under the NATSA guidelines for

ABS system HCU leaking internally Vehicles stopping ability may be impaired Vehicle brake pedal slowly sinks to floor. Ram dealership diagnosed a failed master cylinder internal seal and replaced the master cylinder with 25,272 miles on the vehicle on 3/17/26. Returned to dealership with same issue on 8/3/26 with 28,488 miles on vehicle. Ram dealership diagnoses the hydraulic control unit (HCU) is leaking internally on the ABS system. No warning lamps or other messages. First reported soft brake issue on 2/11/26.

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and directed the contact to the dealer to have the transmission replaced. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

While driving the rear tail gate drops. This has happened on several different occasions. Once it dropped while towing a trailer and I damaged the tailgate on the trailer tongue jack. There is no indicator in the cab of the truck to inform you that the tailgate has dropped, unlike the door indicators. I am positive that the tailgate was up and latched, so it’s not an instance where the tailgate is not fully closed. This could lead to other vehicles or motorcycle riders hitting objects that may fall out of the open tailgate, causing damage or injuries.

The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the messages “Auto Park Disabled”, “Service Electronic Stability Control”, and “Trailer Brake System” were displayed. Additionally, while hauling a camper, the message “Trailer Brakes Disabled” was displayed, and the trailer brakes became inoperable. After restarting the vehicle, the failure was self-corrected, and the trailer brakes operated normally. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, but the cause of the failures was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 65,000.

Vehicle would not start. I put a new battery in, the vehicle still would not start, and the break pedal was stiff. Had someone jump the vehicle, i started it and drove to the dealership service department where I originally bought the vehicle. They said it may be the starter. but they hadn't looked at the vehicle. I told them I would drive to a different shop because it's cheaper. When I tried to put it in drive the vehicle would not move it was giving an error message on the dash. I had to leave the truck there. 2 days later they called me and told me the issue was caused by a recalled part and they fixed the issue. When I arrived they told me I would have to pay $215 diagnostic fee. I told them it's federally prohibited to charge for a recalled part. I had to argue with them to get my vehicle back. They told me next time I should tow the vehicle if I dont want to pay a diagnostic fee. I attached proof of the recall service and the $215 fee listed that they tried to charge me.

The vehicle has experienced repeated failures related to the diesel emissions system despite multiple repair attempts. The contact owns a 2022 Ram 2500. The contact stated that the trailer wiring pigtail produced only 9 to 10 volts to the trailer lights and brake system. Even when the brake pedal was depressed, the voltage output was insufficient. While towing a trailer, the trailer brakes failed to operate adequately. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, who stated that the vehicle was operating as designed. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified, and a claim was opened. Per mopar recall ZA3 transmission tube and dipstick recall. When completed at Orange Coast Ram [XXX] , dealership completed recall, removed original dipstick, and provided a 15" locking dipstick the does NOT provide needed transmission fluid level. Inquired in Orange Coast Ram service department, stated they will not provide needed 44"dipstick to monitor trans fluid. I cannot order, purchase the needed dipstick, creating a dangerous situation if fluid is low, and will result in transmission damage and possible dangerous condition if transmission fails while driving/.towing. My truck was started in the morning and as it sat idle in the driveway I started attaching my trailer. By the time I got the trailer attached(20 seconds) there was smoke pouring out from under the hood. I immediately turned off the truck popped the hood and it was engulfed in flames. I was able to put out the fire with the garden hose. No check engine lights, no warning lights on dash, and I had just got it back from the dealership 2 days earlier and it passed a safety inspection before I picked it up. Im not sure what component failed but whatever did caused a fire

I had to hard brake on a damp roadway at about 50 mph. The truck began to rotate and skid. I had no control over the vehicle until it stopped. The dash lights came on for a failure of the brakes, abs, traction control, and stability control. All of the lights went off then the truck seemed to drive normally. A short time later the lights came on and would not go off. Took the truck to the dealer. The hydraulic control unit was bad and was replaced. This did not fix the truck. Now it needs an abs control module. The truck remains at the dealer awaiting this repair. This appears to be a problem in the previous model year Ram 2500’s and it looks like my 2022 is affected also. There are recalls for these trucks but not for my model year.
