Service def see dealer and max 5mph in 150 miles. Traveling on I-40 from East Tn heading home. 225 miles to go. On a Friday afternoon. Called dealers in area none could look at it until Monday. Stressing about possibility of going into derate at 5mph on interstate and getting rear ended. Had to rent a car and take to a dealer 160 miles from home. Spoiled my vacation because of a false warning about def level. All that was wrong was the code needed to be cleared.

This recall has NOT been fixed by the dealer since I had it there December 20, 2021 with the original recall Y76. I’ve received two more recalls for the Intake Air Grid Heater Relay 13A, have taken it in for service 2x now for it and am told still that parts are on back order. I’ve been told this since December 2021.
Recall ZA3 Heavy Duty Truck Transmission Dipstick. I received this recall one year ago in November 2022. I called my dealer to get it in for service, they told me those were on back order for 3-6 months. I kept checking back with them in May 2023, and also in August 2023 and was told both times parts were still on back order. Still NOT fixed, and it’s really worrying!!
Two fire related safety recalls ZA3 (10/22/2022) and 13A (2/9/2023) have yet to be resolved due to a lack of parts from the manufacturer with no date available as to the availability of required parts.
11/21 purchased a 2022 Ram 2500 Tradesman level 2. Have been experiencing multiple issues since the purchase. Here is the MOST concerning at this time: On February 11, 2023 was at a stop sign when it felt like the truck was hit from behind. Looked in rearview mirror and there was no vehicle behind me. Was able to get it into a dealer on March 2, 2023 to get checked out. They only drove for one mile and stated no issue. Also stated that since no error code showed on the computer, then there is not an issue. This intermittent issue continues with multiple visits to dealerships with the same outcome: they are not able to duplicate the issue and no code is showing on the computer. My safety concern is the truck could lurch forward and hit someone walking through an intersection or another vehicle that is stopped in front of me when an assured clear distance is not possible. Or someone could think traffic was moving forward and hit me from behind. Example: during rush hour traffic assured clear distance is left, but other drivers see that as an opening and pull in front of me. Also, not everyone leaves a safe distance between vehicles. It happened 2 times on my drive last night alone. Rush hour is stressful enough without the added issue of not trusting my truck to perform safely. No warning lights or gauges show up when the issue is happening. Have engaged with Stellantis Customer Care. Was informed by one customer care associate they had a case just like this one for another cus
On 7/29/2023 was told my Rear Differential fluid was low by a non-dealer service provider. They stated no leak was detected, but the fluid was low and they topped it off as part of their stated service. In reviewing my previous oil changes performed at dealerships it states that only an inspection for a leak was done for differential units. Which leads me to believe that the truck came from the manufacturer with the reduced amount of fluid. This could still result in failed parts due to the unit not having the sufficient amount of lubricants for 33,000 miles. Which could lead to an accident involving myself and other vehicles. Each dealer now states that it is up to me to cover the cost of having it investigated due to it not being detected by a Ram Dealership. When, in truth, it would have never been found due to their "multi point inspection" parameters. The only time it would have been detected by a dealership is after a safety incident had already occurred.

I received a letter from FCA concerning recall 97A NHTSA recall 23V-654 and the directions for the recall suggest that I can do an OTA update or as the video linked in the recall suggest a download from [XXX] to correct this issue. I cannot get either resource to work to correct this issue described in the recall. This website and OTA updates for issues is a known problem with FCA products and suggests they do not care about correcting the metrics outlined in the recall. I would like for the file to be available or if they do not want them to be downloadable at least the OTA update system work or mail the files to the customer. The vehicle has been inspected by an independent engineer from Bosch, supplied by FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles), it indicates that an expert assessment has been conducted. In this case, the following answers can be provided based on that information: 1. Components or systems that failed or malfunctioned: - Half shaft axle front left - Wheel assembly - Brake rotor disc - Suspension - Drive shaft - Transfer case - Right front axle shaft - Right front caliper - Right front caliper bolts 2. Availability for inspection upon request: The availability of the failed components for inspection may depend on the specific arrangements made between the vehicle owner and the independent engineer from Bosch. It is recommended to contact the engineer or FCA for further information regarding inspection availability. 3. Safety risks: Considering the multiple component failures mentioned, there is a significant safety risk not only to yourself but also to others. These failures can lead to loss of vehicle control, compromised braking, and potential accidents or collisions. 4. Confirmation by the independent engineer: Since the vehicle has been inspected by an independent engineer from Bosch, it suggests that the problems have been reproduced and confirmed. My 2022 Ram 2500 with only 9,900 miles failed to start requiring it be towed to the dealership. The dealer reported the fuel injector harness had failed and replaced it but then it started throwing other codes. The technician determined there was metal shavings in high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) so they contacted Ram engineers and started a STAR case. After two months and countless "pictures" taken and sent the the Ram engineers, they claim it was contaminated fuel which caused the metal shavings to be found in the HPFP. The engineers stated that there were no metal shavings found in the return filter so the metal shaving came from "contaminated fuel." This logic is impossible because for metal shavings to make it from the fuel tank to the HPFP and be visible they must travel through two fuel filter, one of which filters down to 5 microns. The dealership acknowledged the engineers logic didn't make sense to them either. The return filter showed some debris but if metal shavings can pass through a 5 micron paper filter than it would also pass through the metal screen found on the return line inside the tank. Ram is refusing to honor their warranty and trying to stick me with the bill even after they already are aware of a faulty fuel pump in their trucks.

This is the second time this is happening, first time June 30 2023 it was towed to rainbow ram in Covington because it lost power and multiple warning lights came on, service shifter appeared in message center, truck got home and wouldn't shift, then wouldn't start. Theyouldn't find the problem I was told they detected high voltage and checked for loose connection but couldn't find any issue despite having the truck more than a week. On August 3rd while driving on i10 in Alabama the truck had a sudden drop in power and start decelerating almost every warning light came on the dash with multiple message in the message center. It is currently at tameron ram in Alabama. The put it on a computer that showed almost every control module has failed. RAM will not guarantee to provide me a rental truck and the dealer can't tell me how long they will have it. To be clear I have no complaint aboutTameron ram staff. The last message on the display said to stop the truck in a safe place and that it may not start again. While tri g to get to the dealer it was going crazy with different lights and windshield wipers turning on by themselves.

2nd ram tradesman 2500 2022. Front end shakes and goes all over. Shimmer is normal at 65 but it's actually doing it at 35. Brakes are to the floor
The transmission feels like it is shifting hard. When you come to a stop and it downshifts from 2nd to 1st sometimes it transfers all the power into 1st gear hard and makes the truck lunge forward as you almost come to a stop. You have to keep your foot firmly planted on the brake as you never know when it’s going to happen. I have the truck for 1.5 years and it’s happened to me about 10 times, very intermittent. I have had the truck in for service x3 times and they could not replicate the issue. There was another NHTSA I suspect had the same issue as me the ID# is 11502531. This person described almost the same issue, and our VIN almost match, and both vehicles were manufactured about the same time in the same location.

There is an open recall that is not being taken care of by the manufacture stating my truck engine will catch fire when parked. Seems to me they should fix this as soon as possible.
While driving at 25mph in 4H, I heard what sounded like television static instead of the music I'd been playing with Carplay. Moments later my dashboard indicators flashed wildly and randomly. Within a few seconds, smoke was billowing out of the hood and fire was visible in the engine bay. The entire vehicle eventually burned down.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
