Risk. A loss of electronic stability control increases the risk of a crash.

Risk. A rearview camera image that fails to display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

The instrument panel may display an incorrect brake system warning light. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Control and Displays."

Risk. An incorrect warning light can fail to alert the driver to critical safety information, increasing the risk of a crash.

The contact owns a 2026 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving 55 MPH, the rear defroster overheated. The contact stated that the rear glass had fractured. There was melted plastic and smoke coming from the rear glass. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a defroster system malfunction. The contact was informed that the rear glass and the sensor were replaced and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.

In September of 2025, soon after purchasing my RAM, I had to use the front defrost. When the defrost/heater got hot, the touchscreen was inaccessible. I could hear the radio and heater fan, but I could not control any function as the touchscreen was completely black. Once it cooled down everything worked fine. It did it all winter when using the heat and it did it this summer daily when the cab got hot from sitting with windows cracked open at my work place. I am concerned that if it gets too hot, it may catch fire. It is hot to the touch when it happens. I have not asked my dealer about it as I’m on a waiting list for another recall repair There are no warning lights or alarms associated with the problem. .

I was driving the truck and hauling a trailer. Came home and parked my truck. Within 15 minutes something in the engine bay combusted and caught the entire truck on fire.

Ever since this truck was brand new the brakes have been very soft. You have to really push down far into the pedal to get this vehicle to stop. It is a hazard and it’s been that way since New furthermore, on the forums there are so many people that have the same complaint the dealership is telling all of us that it’s normal. It is definitely a safety hazard. I am a retired California Highway Patrol officer who is very familiar with vehicle dynamics and on these forums, I have found maybe 10% of people on here say their brakes work fine 90% of the people say all of the same things that these brakes are dangerous Also, the steering on these vehicles is very loose. There is play in the wheel not enough to be a safety concerned just not what I expect on a new vehicle at all the brakes however are a safety issue.

275/70 R18 - RAM installs these tires on their 2500 models. The tires are prone to hydroplaning, sidewall issues, and belt separation. These tires are unsafe for the loads in which RAM Heavy Duty trucks are towing/hauling. RAM is choosing to equip these Heavy Duty trucks with unsafe tires even though customers are complaining to RAM. RAM refuses to acknowledge the quality of the tire is not suitable for the purpose of the truck.

My driver side rear tire blew out on my new 26 Ram 2500, with approximately 6500 miles on it. Yes, it's available for inspection. The sidewall blew out violently throwing rubber across 3 lanes just after reaching speed limit of 65 MPH with moderate traffic I had just fueled, approx. 3/4 of a mile back @ exit 30 on the westbound [XXX] just east of [XXX], checked tires, while our wives had walked across parking lot for lunch. My Dealer looked at the tire (service writer) then he brought out the (I think shop Forman) both said We don't warranty tires!!! Also, Big Brand Tire Service looked at it, and ordered a replacement tire, there is no damage to the tread surface, or any damage internally tread area anyways. Just the outer side wall 80% missing, about 1.25" of outer bead still mounted to wheel. IT WAS LOUD, LIKE AN EXPLOSION! Big Brand Tire looked at it & the dealer looked at it, [XXX] @ Big [XXX] said he would try to get in touch with Firestone. No, Police or Insurance have seen it. BUT I have pictures of the blown-out tire on my new pick up alongside of [XXX] with exit sign in picture. I wanted to get this form filled out before Firestone got my tire & wheel. No warning at all, just a loud bang, then the flashing red light came on with 0 air pressure reading on driver side rear tire! One month old truck, 2026 Ram 2500 Crew Cab 4X4 Lone Star with 12" Uconnect system. The Uconnect system automatically selects a side view of the truck depending on which side your turning and turn signals are activated to. The issue is that at night the screen view is too bright when the camera comes on, essentially blinding the driver. It is hard to see what is on front when the screen is on in camera view. While the feature can be disabled, it defeats the purpose of having a Blind Spot camera view to increase occupant safety. Another issue which also deals with the Uconnect system is the backup camera view on the 12" display. The view is stacked side by side and the rear image is very small. While this isn't much of a problem during the day, at night it causes problems if raining and the camera became dirty while driving in the rain. When the vehicle is put in reverse, the screen lights up very brightly, and I is very hard to see anything either on my rear-view mirror or side mirrors due to how bright the screen is, even dimmed all the way down, in addition, if trying to rely on the screen, the view is so tiny and when combined with a wet and dirty camera lens, it is nearly impossible to see anything out the back due to the rain, light reflection on the water and lens dirt. Attempting to clean the lens in the rain is not ideal. Backing truck with trailer, auto park engaged leaving me in on comming traffic almost causing a very bad wreck. No time to reset.

I bought my 2026 RAM in Sept 2025. RAM knew about the recall but didn’t announce it until Feb 26. I found that out after I purchased it. The trailer brake module is faulty as you know. I bought it to replace my 2017 RAM that also had an unrepaired recall. I have a camper I would like to use but I am afraid to pull it. I call every week to check availability of parts. So far nothing. The vehicle also had a radio/entertains screen issue, which was fixed, but is having issues again as it doesn’t turn of when exiting the vehicle after shutting the truck off. Now I see it has another recall. I found this totally unacceptable. I would trade it or sell but cannot due to being so far upside down. I also had to sell my cows due to being unable to haul a hay trailer. All I want is this truck gone so I can get one I can actually use. Now I see on your site where it has another recall. What are my options?

Stellantis issued a STAR service order regarding the digital rearview mirror not operating. I bought my truck in April of 2026 and the mirror was inoperable. Ram dealers have had the truck in the shop for over 10 weeks and cannot fix this safety issue. A STAR number and two claims numbers have been assigned. Stellantis Customer Service cannot understand what is being said and no rental car afforded. In essence, they cannot fix this problem. It must be forced for Stellantis to fix this wide spread problem.

Brake pedal very soft and sink to the floor you have to pump the brake pedal to get hard pedal

I was towing my 21-foot boat on a trailer equipped with surge brakes while driving down a slight downhill grade. As I approached a stop sign and applied the brakes, the brake pedal felt extremely spongy. I had to press the pedal all the way to the floor, and the truck still would not stop as expected. After that incident, I noticed the brake pedal remains spongy even when I’m not towing anything. I took my 2026 RAM 2500 to the RAM dealership in [XXX] today (XXX), to have the braking system inspected. The dealership told me they could not find anything wrong with the brakes. Their recommendation was to pump the brake pedal twice to build up brake pressure. My concern is that this is not an acceptable solution. In an emergency braking situation, there may not be enough time to pump the brakes before needing to stop. I need to be able to rely on the brakes to provide full stopping power with a single application of the pedal. This experience has raised serious safety concerns about the braking system on my 2026 RAM 2500. If the dealership is unable to identify or correct the problem, I would appreciate your assistance in investigating this issue and helping me find a proper resolution before it leads to a potentially dangerous situation. The brake pedal is soft and travels all the way to the floor before it engages. It has done it from the day I purchased the truck. The dealership stated it is normal for that truck. I had previously owned a 2014 RAM 2500 w/6.4L Gas engine, 2017 RAM 2500 w/6.7L Diesel engine, 2021 RAM 3500 w/6.7L Diesel engine, all had firm normal operating brakes as you would expect for a truck. The brake pedal will physically bottom out to the floor causing the vehicle to creep and/or move forward when in gear if you even slightly lift off the brakes, requiring immediate action to pump the brake pedal to obtain a firm pedal, however the feel is only momentary and you can feel the pedal bleed off until the pedal bottoms out again. This issue is extremely problematic when towing a trailer equipped with electric trailer brakes due to the fact that the trailer brakes are engaging far sooner then the trucks braking system due to the long brake pedal travel before engaging causing the trailer to aggressively yank on the truck. This causes a jerky, uncomfortable stop and puts excessive strain on the hitch, making it difficult to maintain control and further leading to rapid wear on the trailer brake pads. I have pretty much stop driving the truck due to the braking system, hence the low mileage (current miles is 1,203 miles since purchased on 27 January 2026).

Brakes are soft and half way down.they always need to be pumped before stopping.if you set at a red light they will slowly go to the floor. this is a 3/4 ton truck for towing.has been back to dealership.they say normal.suggested maybe ram will do a soft wear change.tested a new one on the lot and just as bad.they need to stop especially if towing.

Brakes and lights on trailer don’t work.Truck thinks it has a trailer connected to it all the time ,even when no trailer is not attached. Not sure I can trust this vehicle. It’s been looked at by dealer, they say part is back order no date for it to be fixed. IS THIS SAFE !!!

The backup camera does not work properly as delivered from the dealership. The problem is intermittent, hard to reproduce reliably and is occurring on a brand new unit. The vehicle is very large with huge blind spots and poses a risk to others when reversing.

Truck has 170 miles and it suddenly slammed on the breaks on the highway stating that the EBS failed. A loud humming sound came from the transmission and now the truck is saying service transmission and service brakes. The truck will need to be towed to a dealer to review as it is not drivable at this time .

Open safety recall on brake controller, parts unavailable for nearly 2 months, vehicle actively used for towing a 7,800 lb travel trailer

Purchased my 2026 Ram 2500 Power Wagon. The first thing I noticed after driving off the lot, I had to push down halfway to stop. My other cars engaged about 6-8 inches to start slowing down. When I took back to the dealership and asked a service Tech supervisor, he said that's how they are. My own personal opinion is, I think it's a safety issue because you've already wasted half of the braking.

I was in the middle of a 1 hr long drive and my DEF gauge went from 2/3 full to empty nearly instantly. I received a message on the dash that said my speed would be limited to 5 MPH in 200 miles. Thankfully, I was within easy driving distance to a dealer, so I dropped if off yesterday (still waiting for their assessment of the issue), but what if I was in the middle of nowhere, and couldn't get to a dealer before that 200 mile limit was reached? What if the dealer couldn't see me for weeks/months which is not uncommon these days? Brand new ram 2500 has way too much travel in the brake pedal. I've researched it online and supposedly this has been an issue for years. Hopefully ram recalls it and fixes the issue. As of now I feel like if I had a load or towing something without brakes in a trailer I would be scared

I own a Ram 2500 (VIN: [XXX] ) that has experienced a persistent and worsening rough idle. The engine shakes violently at idle, RPMs fluctuate unpredictably, and the vehicle feels as if it may stall. This occurs at stoplights, in traffic, and after warm-up. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership multiple times for this issue. Despite repeated visits, diagnostics, and inspections, the problem has not been resolved. I was told the condition is “normal” or that a future software update may address it, but the issue continues and is getting worse. When my truck is put into Neutral gear position and my foot is taken off the brake the trucks message center shows "Press Brake and TURN shifter to desired gear". Unfortunately, this is impossible to do as these trucks are only equipped with Column shifter handles and not dash mounted rotary knobs. It is literally impossible to follow this direction as given. I have to imagine giving a customer a direction that is physically impossible to carry out is likely a safety violation for the manufacturer.

The Stereo Screen went black, unable to turn back on the dealership had to replace the entire stereo. In addition, flashing ODO and other indicators on the dash. The IDLE is out of control which shakes the whole truck. Since the screen does not work the backup camera is also off which makes it very hard to backup. The truck feels very different when the ODO is flashing and the screen is black. It is not dealer / transportation mode just FYI. The Truck was towed back to the dealership after a 16 day service visit for the first visit.

While towing my boat trailer the dash lights up with AEB, ESC, ABS lights as well as messages saying service needed for several other systems like cruise control and adaptive cruise control. This happened on a busy street while in motion causing a loss of all safety subsystems related to braking. The dealer diagnosed as a failed ABS/HCU and required replacement. My truck had 1350 miles at time of incident.
