Defect. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Rogue, 2019-2020 Altima, 2019-2022 Infiniti QX50, and 2022 Infiniti QX55 vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L or 4-cylinder 2.0L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. The engine bearings may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine failure.

Risk. Engine failure increases the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire.

Remedy. Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed April 8, 2026. Defect. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021 Rogue vehicles. The left and/or right rear brake caliper assemblies may be missing an internal bushing, allowing the O-ring seal to move and brake fluid to leak.

Risk. A loss of brake fluid may reduce braking performance, increasing the risk of crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the left and right rear brake calipers, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 12, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PC933. The two vehicles that were previously inspected under recall 21V-286 and did not receive a brake caliper replacement will need to have the new remedy completed.

Defect. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2022 Titan, Titan XD, Frontier, and 2021-2022 Rogue vehicles. The in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) system may continuously reboot when the vehicle is restarted, which can result in an inoperative rearview display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk. An inoperative rearview camera display reduces the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. The IVI software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 18, 2022. Defect. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Rogue vehicles. The rear seat belts for the left-hand and right-hand rear seats may not retract properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection," and 209, "Seatbelt Assemblies."

Risk. Seat belts that do not retract properly may be difficult to operate, preventing their usage, which can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Defect. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Rogue, 2022 Frontier, Pathfinder, and Titan rental vehicles. When the Sirius XM subscription is set to "Not Subscribed," it may cause the infotainment head unit to reboot, resulting in an inoperative rearview camera. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk. An inoperative rearview camera display reduces the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. The Infotainment system software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 29, 2022. Defect. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021 Rogue vehicles. Abnormal wear inside the fuel pump may cause it to overheat and fail.

Risk. Fuel pump failure may cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

Defect. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021 Rogue vehicles. The second-row upper tether wires may have been improperly welded to the seatback frame, preventing a child seat from being securely anchored. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."

Risk. An insecurely anchored child seat can move during a sudden stop or crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Defect. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021 Nissan Rogue vehicles. The incorrect wheel nuts may have been installed, and may loosen causing wheel vibration.

Risk. The wheel vibration may break the wheel studs and cause the wheel assembly to separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the wheel nuts and replace any incorrect ones, free of charge. The recall began May 4, 2021. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PC799.

Defect. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021 Nissan Rogue vehicles. The fuel hose may not be secured in the proper position and the fuel tank lock ring may not be fully seated.

Risk. An improperly secured fuel hose may leak, increasing the risk of a fire. The fuel hose may also disconnect completely, causing the engine to stall and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, as necessary, reposition and secure the fuel hose and lock ring, free of charge. The recall began March 16, 2021. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PC791.

Constant strong fuel smell that last for day I'm a disabled veteran and I had really bad headaches after driving each time. I have taken vehicle in to dealership and told them about fuel smell problem and they reported they couldn't find issue but even after my vehicle still smells like fuel so much that I can taste it and get headaches from it also family gets headaches to. At the current moment there are no warning lamps on.

I own a 2021 Nissan Rogue SV, 2.5L engine. I have repeatedly experienced a strong gasoline/fuel/exhaust-like odor inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The odor is extremely strong and has caused me and my passengers to experience dizziness, nausea, feeling sick, and discomfort. I regularly transport my children, including a [XXX] child, creating a serious safety concern. The exact component causing the odor is UNKNOWN. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I have taken the vehicle to the Nissan dealership more than eight times for this same recurring problem. On some occasions, I was turned away without the vehicle being properly inspected, and on other occasions I was told that the dealership could not find anything wrong or that there was nothing they could do to repair the issue. The problem has continued and worsened I eventually took the vehicle to an independent automotive repair facility for a second opinion. Their written service documentation states that I reported a strong smell of gas and feeling sick. The shop removed the rear seat cushion and inspected the low-pressure fuel pump and found no leak at that particular time. They also visually inspected the high-pressure fuel pump and found no obvious signs of a fuel leak at that time. The independent shop documented the ongoing concern and recommended that I return to the dealership with the information they found. The contact owned a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the vehicle independently accelerated and the brakes failed to operate while the brake pedal was depressed, causing the front center of the vehicle to crash into a tree. No warning lights were illuminated. The air bags deployed as needed. The vehicle was deemed a total loss at the scene. Neither a Police report nor Fire Department report was filed. The contact was seated in the driver’s seat, and her husband was seated in the front passenger seat and sustained several injuries, including seat belt bruises and cuts on both arms and hands. The contact and her husband both sought medical attention. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.

On July 29th 2024 (two weeks after regular oil change) i noticed the engine temperature rise to the halfway mark. I stopped at Sheetz and waited for it to cool down. I opened the coolant cap and only a few drops remained in the reservoir. I added coolant and called Timbrook Nissan to complain they didn't top off the coolant. I was advised that "those Rogues are known to leak coolant out of the back." I took it to the dealership for diagnosis on August 10th. They advised that the 4th piston is cracked and a new engine is necessary. Nissan is not making new Rogue engines. They will put a used engine in for $8500. (I assume of the same quality). I took it to an independant shop. They found coolant in pistons 3 and 4. They cannot fix because Rogue engines are backordered with no ETA. There were no warnings. The car was being maintained religiously. A cracked cylinder poses risk of the engine shutting down while on the freeway. It also causes super heating of coolant posing a burn risk. Unburned fuel can be forced down the exhaust line and ignited into the catalytic converter.

Last year we had engine problems and the head gasket was bad, had it replaced and it ran for another year. It currently has a cracked head and needs repaired again.

I was on the interstate as I got off the interstate had a complete loss of power and heard what sounded like metal banging against metal in the engin. I was broke down in the middle of the intersection. Had to push the sub out of the road. The vech was towed to Nissan dealership and was told my vech was not covered under the engine recall.

Complaint Description: On XXX, my 2021 Nissan Rogue would not start due to a busted engine block, rendering the vehicle inoperable. The vehicle was serviced exclusively at Kraft Nissan in [XXX], from the time of purchase until approximately one year prior to the failure, following the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule. I contacted Nissan regarding the engine bearing recall affecting 2021-2024 Rogue vehicles equipped with the VC-Turbo engine (Nissan recall numbers R25A8/A9 and R25B1/B2), which addresses bearing failures that can breach the engine block and increase the risk of engine fire. I was informed that my VIN is not included in this recall campaign, despite my vehicle being the same model year and equipped with the same engine type, and despite experiencing symptoms consistent with the defect described in the recall (engine block failure). There is a piece missing on the back of one of my seatbelt buckle latches (back drivers side). It looks like the latch is splitting open. All of the sudden the back drivers side door is stuck closed/shut and often won’t open. I contacted Victory Nissan on Mechanicsville Turnpike at [XXX] and called Nissan customer service at [XXX] and spoke with Shavonke. They told me there was no recall on my VIN# and because of the 100778 mileage there was nothing they could do. I disputed that there was a recall on this very issue down to the same side (the drivers side) as well as class action lawsuits. Nissan still would not take ownership and expects me to pay them hundreds of dollars to repair a defect they have been advised of that they actually have a limited recall and class action lawsuits in regards to. Check engine light code detected fuel leak. Fuel could be smelled outside of car when operated or parked. Took car to Nissan to inspect fuel leak. Fuel pump had to be replaced due to a leak per Nissan technician. There is a recall on 2021 Nissan Rogues due fuel leak. My 2021 Nissan Rogue was not covered in the recall because of my VIN.

The cameras do not work. I have the beeping sound when I am in reverse but no camera view at all. Even when I am in park and hit the camera button nothing appears. I have done a soft and hard reset and that did not work.

I was driving on I25 south towards Albuquerque. I was changing lanes and another vehicle slammed into me causing me to crash into the guard rail. I was going 75 miles per hour at the time and my air bags did not deploy and my vehicle is very likely totaled. Due to airbags not deploying my head hit the steering wheel and window many times. The vehicle is available for inspection if requested.

The fuel/engine vapor ventilation system in the driver-side engine bay is leaking raw fuel fumes into the fresh air intake. Yes, the vehicle and all components are available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Inhaling continuous raw gasoline fumes while driving and idling causes physical distress, including severe headaches, burning eyes, and dizziness, creating a driving hazard. The unaddressed raw fuel leak under the hood also poses an elevated fire safety risk. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center?Pinnacle Nissan previously confirmed a fuel leak and replaced the fuel tank and lock ring assembly. ABC Nissan inspected the vehicle for over a week, confirmed testing was conducted, but reported they were unable to pinpoint the engine bay leak source. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The left headliner above the small rear window is wet/stained after heavy rain or a car wash. I have had this issue previously with the front left headliner and the clips were replaced. The same issue is occurring with the rear left headliner now. The risk of mold exposure, water damage, etc. is high.

Hi, smell a very strong gas smell inside the cabin. And it doesn't matter if the fuel tank is full are nearly empty.

I was driving my 2021 Nissan Rogue on the highway, returning from the airport after picking up a friend, when the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle began jerking on acceleration. The vehicle lost power and would only move very slowly, leaving me traveling well below highway speed in active traffic. This created an extremely dangerous situation, as surrounding vehicles were approaching at full highway speed while my vehicle could not accelerate or maintain a safe speed. The vehicle also appeared to be running hot. I did not feel safe continuing to drive the vehicle, so I stopped driving it and had it taken to Crest Nissan of Frisco (Frisco, TX) for diagnosis. The dealership retrieved diagnostic trouble codes P1217 (engine overheat) and P0300 (random/multiple cylinder misfire). Upon inspection, they found low coolant, pressure-tested the cooling system, and confirmed that coolant is entering multiple cylinders, causing the misfire and overheating. The dealership states the engine cannot be repaired and the long block engine assembly must be replaced, at a quoted cost of $6,955.49. The vehicle is barely outside the manufacturer's warranty by time and mileage. There was no warning prior to this failure, and the vehicle has been properly maintained. This is an internal engine failure (coolant intrusion into the cylinders), not a maintenance-related issue. I have two major safety concerns for my 2021 Nissan Rogue. 1) FAILED REAR DOOR ACTUATORS ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE: I own a 2021 Nissan Rogue with approximately 68,000 miles. The rear driver AND passenger side door lock actuator failed, causing the rear doors to no longer lock or unlock electronically using either the key fob or the interior power door lock switch. The door must now be operated manually from the inside, no one can freely open the doors from the outside. I have to crawl in the backseat to open the doors. This creates a safety concern because, in an emergency, a rear passenger may not be able to quickly exit the vehicle if the door cannot be unlocked electronically. This failure affects a rear passenger door and could delay a child's or other passenger's ability to exit the vehicle quickly in an emergency if the electronic lock cannot be operated. It also creates a vehicle security concern because the door does not lock properly. I have found multiple reports from other 2021 Nissan Rogue owners describing the same rear door lock actuator failure at similar mileage. This appears to be more than an isolated incident. The vehicle has not been involved in an accident, and the failure occurred during normal use. 2) FAILED EGR VALVE: The EGR cooler has failed internally and is allowing engine coolant into the combustion chambers. I am reporting a strong gasoline odor inside my 2021 Nissan Rogue. The smell is noticeable both while driving and after the vehicle has been parked, and it is strong enough to enter the passenger cabin. This condition raises serious safety concerns because the odor may indicate a fuel system leak or another defect that could increase the risk of fire or expose occupants to harmful gasoline fumes.
