I was driving my car and my car all of a sudden dropped speed and when I pressed the gas my car started shaking and jerking.

Computer system keeps messing up, I’ve taken it in a couple times for the same issue and it still keeps getting worse, sending wrong signals also sometimes it revs up when driving out of nowhere and it’s dangerous
Vehicle will come up with a collision warning and tell you to refer to the owners manual. And then tells you to pull over and shuts off the vehicle. After 10 seconds vehicle starts up again and drives. My wife it have been seriously injured or worse had others in the road not been paying attention. No check engine light. Researched multiple people online with the same issue. Vehicle needs to be recalled. This is a dangerous safety issue.
I was told at 58,000 miles that the front control arms where cracking and need to be replaced. I requested Goodwill assistance and was denied by NMAC. I searched this problem and found that Nissans have a history of recalls and complaints of control arms needing early replacement due to poor quality parts.
I was in my 2021 Nissan Rogue and just turned right down the street from my in-laws home ( out of state in Indiana) when the vehicle violently jerked to the right and I was unable to control it and sent me into a ditch. My speed was 14mph when this happened. I managed to get it up on the road and inspected it. I found the right front rim broke, the lower control arm broke, and inner tie rod bent, as well as body damage to the fender and bumper. The tpms light and the forward collision light is on at the dash. I reported it to my insurance company. I managed to put the spare on and get it into my in-laws driveway. It will need towed to get repaired. The vehicle can be inspected where it is at. No warning lights before for this incident happened. I’m very greatful this didn’t happen on the interstate with my family in the vehicle.
When activating the right turn signal the windshield washers and wipers will turn on. Washers, wipers, and the turn signal all turn off when the turn signal is deactivated. This can cause some unexpected visibility issues while turning. Also, when turning the headlights from "Auto" to the "Off" position the windshield wipers will turn on. The wipers will stay on until you Switch back to "Auto". These problems are repeatable. I plan to contact the Nissan Dealer to see how much a multifunction switch replacement would cost.
June 2025 rear door locks stopped working. (Odometer 12,538) I was unable to lock/unlock doors with key fob or with inside driver's door lock/unlock button. Repaired 06/10/2025 at Mentor Nissan, 44060, by replacement of parts #82500-6R0B & 82501-6R0B: CONTROLLER-LOCK in both rear doors. Incident #2: Feb 2026 front driver-side door lock became inoperable, the same as had occurred with the rear door locks. I'm at Nissan Mentor today (02/17/2026) for evaluation & repair. (Odometer 15,200) Both of these door lock issues resulted in inability to enter/exit vehicle. Very dangerous if someone were unable to exit vehicle in emergency. Otherwise a big inconvenience requiring one to climb over other seats to enter/exit vehicle. The car is under extended warranty. June 2025 I paid $100 deductible plus tax & fee, totaling $110.21. Today's repair cost to be determined. In each incident there were no warning lamps or messages. Both issues began with intermittent lock/unlock failure, then escalated to complete failure within 2-3 weeks. This has caused several inconveniences of not being able to enter the vehicle through the effected doors. And now the second incident again requires waiting for repair. In the first instance with rear door there was a wait of several weeks for the needed replacement parts. I anticipate the same delay with the front door repair. As I write this I'm at Mentor Nissan facility waiting for report from service department.

MY REAR BACK UP CAMERS STOPPED WORKING. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER. I BOUGHT THE EXTENDED WARRENTY FOR ELECTRONICS SO THEY REPLACED THE CAMERA TO NO AVAIL. THEN THEY REPLACED THE A/V CONTROL UNIT WHICH DID NOT FIX THE PROBELM. AT THAT TIME THEY ADVISED ME THE REAR WIPER GROMMET LEAKED WATED WHICH CAUSED THE CAMERA CONNECTOR TO CORRODE. THEY ADVISED ME TO FIX THIS I MUST REPLACE THE TAILGATE. THERE IS NO REPAIR FOR THIS. I HAVE SEEN POSTING ON FACEBOOK AND OTHER PLACES SHOWING I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON THIS IS HAPPENING TO. THE DEALER KNEW ABOUT IT BUT WHEN I QUESTIONED IF IT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE THET PLAYED DUMB I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS I HAVE NO REAR CAMERA NOW
The vehicle has experienced multiple incidents of change of transmission from automatic to manual while driving, without warning. When this occurs, the vehicle loses speed while in motion, creating an immediate and severe safety hazard. •The issue began shortly after purchase •The defect has occurred multiple times, including twice in a single weekend •The issue persists despite multiple dealership service visits •The dealership initially misdiagnosed the issue •I possess video recordings of the shutdown events •The vehicle is currently at Clay Cooley Nissan (since November 15, 2025) •Nissan has delayed inspection until February 5, 2026 •I am unable to safely drive the vehicle •My family is without transportation •I continue to incur financial hardship as a result A vehicle that loses speed unexpectedly while driving poses a risk of: •Collision •Injury or death •Loss of vehicle control •Endangerment of other motorists
I am reporting a safety defect for my 2021 Nissan Rogue with approximately 140,000 miles. The vehicle has repeatedly overheated, emitted white smoke from the dipstick area and the exhaust, lost coolant, and produced no cabin heat. The engine rattles and shakes. I previously had a recall fixed at Nissan related to the ECU, but these issues persist. I’ve also had regular maintenance on the vehicle and replaced the starter as well. I believe this relates to the known engine defect in these models. I am concerned for my safety and need this addressed.
The fuel pump and fuel level system appear to be malfunctioning. After refueling, the fuel gauge on the dashboard fluctuates continuously and does not provide a stable or accurate reading. This fluctuation continues for several minutes after pumping gas. The vehicle also struggles to start, requiring multiple attempts before turning on. On multiple occasions, the engine has shut off unexpectedly while the vehicle was in motion. This issue poses a safety risk because the vehicle can stall while driving, which increases the risk of a collision, especially in traffic or at higher speeds. The inaccurate fuel gauge also makes it difficult to determine the actual fuel level, increasing the risk of running out of fuel unexpectedly. The problem has occurred multiple times and is reproducible. The fuel pump and related components are available for inspection upon request. Dealer or independent service center confirmation is UNKNOWN at this time. Inspection by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives is UNKNOWN. Prior to the vehicle shutting off or struggling to start, symptoms included fluctuating fuel gauge readings immediately after refueling and continued erratic gauge behavior while driving. No warning lights are recalled at this time (UNKNOWN).
Vehicle Safety Defect Report I am submitting this vehicle safety defect report regarding a serious and dangerous failure in a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The vehicle experienced complete electronic shutdowns while driving on the highway. During the most severe incidents, on December 19, 2025 and again on January 14, 2026, the vehicle activated the automatic emergency braking system without external cause, shifted into PARK, and shut down completely, leaving the vehicle immobilized in live interstate traffic during heavy rain. The dashboard displayed multiple simultaneous warnings (engine, battery, collision sensors). A repair facility later diagnosed corrosion in the Transmission Control Module (TCM). The module was not replaced, only cleaned, and the failure recurred. This defect presents an extreme risk of collision, serious injury, or death. A vehicle that shuts down and electronically locks while in motion is unsafe to operate. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this electronic defect affecting critical safety and control systems. Videos, dashboard images, repair records, and documented evidence are attached. While driving on an interstate highway during heavy rain, my 2021 Nissan Rogue experienced a complete electronic shutdown. Multiple warning lights appeared simultaneously, the automatic emergency braking system activated without cause, and the vehicle suddenly shifted into PARK and shut off, leaving me immobilized in live traffic. This occurred on December 19, 2025
Back window glass exploded into car and onto garage floor. Had just started car and put in reverse when loud explosion occurred and stopped the car to inspect. Found entire back window shattered and pieces resting inside car trunk, rear seats, and garage floor. Insurer had Safelite come to replace the window but technician could not complete the replacement since the black plastic wiper motor plastic assembly was cracked. Just found a new motor assembly at Nissan Dealer (Capitol in Wilmington, NC) and purchased out of pocket for $380.68 after negotiating a reduction of $200 with the dealer. Also, have a $250 deductible and Safelite charge for new wiper arm and blade $47.
Vehicle Safety Complaint – Fuel Leak I am reporting a serious safety issue with my vehicle. Vehicle: Nissan Rogue 2021 There is a fuel leak from underneath the fuel tank area, and a strong gasoline odor inside the cabin. The smell is noticeable while driving and when the vehicle is parked. This creates a fire and explosion hazard, and I believe the vehicle is unsafe to operate. The manufacturer/dealer informed me that the warranty has expired and refused to cover the repair. No accident occurred, but the fuel leak is ongoing and presents an immediate safety risk. I am requesting that this issue be reviewed as a potential safety defect.
Rear Window "exploded" while car was parked at a private residence driveway, 50 degree day, foggy morning. No one was in car at time in this case.
There is play in the seat. Unnerving that the seat moves without any manual intervention or undue force. The movement occurs u see braking and/or acceleration. When reported to Nissan dealer, was informed that it was not covered under standard or extended warranty plans. 2021 year model with 27800 miles, noticed this movement in our previous 2019 model as well.
The driver’s seat heating element appears to have failed and caused the seat material to burn. The damaged seat and its components are still in my possession and available for inspection upon request. The malfunction caused the seat to catch fire while the vehicle was in use, creating a risk of burns, smoke inhalation, and a potential full vehicle fire. This posed a significant danger to my safety and the safety of any passengers. Not yet. The issue has not been reproduced, but the physical damage clearly indicates a failure of the heating element. I am planning to have it evaluated by a dealer or an independent service center. Not yet. No inspection has been done so far by Nissan, law enforcement, or insurance, but I intend to contact my insurance provider and the dealership for official inspection and documentation. There were no warning lights, messages, or unusual symptoms before the failure occurred. The fire started suddenly while the seat heater was in use.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 20 MPH, the vehicle suddenly stopped in the middle of the roadway. The contact exited the vehicle to inspect the vehicle and discovered that the front driver’s and passenger’s side wheels were pointed inward. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the tie rods had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was made aware of NHTSA Action Number: PE24020 (Steering) and related the failure to the NHTSA Action Number. The failure mileage was 52,000.
Head gaskets failed at 120,000 miles and had to replace engine. Now transmission failed at 180,000. This car is mostly used for airport taxi so mostly freeway miles.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle and then turning off the vehicle and entering the residence, the contact then attempted to restart the vehicle, and the vehicle failed to restart. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact was unable to roll down the windows. The contact was assisted with jumpstarting the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the battery needed to be replaced. The battery was replaced. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while the vehicle was stopped at a stop sign, the vehicle made an abnormal sound and then stalled. The vehicle failed to restart, with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact was unable to move over to the side of the road. The contact called a family member for a jumpstart. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not inspected or diagnosed. The contact stated that the failure persisted. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to a manufacturer’s campaign related to the Body Control Module (BCM). Most recently, the contact stated that the rearview camera displayed a distorted image or a black screen while the vehicle was in reverse(R). The contact stated that the failure obstructed the driver's visibility, which prevented the driver from safely operating the vehicle. The contact turned off the vehicle and waited for several minutes before restarting the v
I had turned on my front and rear window defrosters and as I was driving along the road, my rear windshield shattered unprovoked.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that after remote starting the vehicle in cold weather, after two to three minutes, the contact drove the vehicle with the defroster activated for a half mile. After parking and depressing the stop button, there was a loud popping sound, and the contact became aware that the rear glass had exploded without impact. There were no injuries reported. The local dealer was contacted regarding the failure, but the vehicle was not inspected or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,943.
While driving approximately 40 mph , lost power to the vehicle. No lights no warnings. The gas pedal pushed all the way to the floor and wouldn’t go , lost power steering AND ALL. coasted into a parking lot where my dash then gave the RAB light and a oil light , not due for a oil change , and still won’t turn on.
Nissan chime speaker unbelievably loud at car start up. The seat belt chimes and any chime that comes from the dash speaker is louder than normal. The speaker is “ inst panel speaker 24832-6ra0a. “ I have only had this car for one year this November. It happened for a few days during the first month or two having the car then it went back to normal, now it is doing it again and has lasted a month. Seems to happen only when it’s cold outside. Sometimes chime will start normal then grow increasingly loud.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the vehicle started bucking while changing gear. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the coolant level was low, and the safety system had engaged. There was no coolant leak found. After taking possession of the vehicle, the heat became inoperable. The contact noticed that the coolant level was low. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer, where it was determined that the failure was possibly related to the EGR cooler. There was no indication of a leak. The part was on back order. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.
Car was sputtering and didn’t idle right, engine light came on and took it to Nissan dealership-they replaced egr valve gasket, exhaust gas recirculating, air filter and did 2 recalls. Then 2 days later the car didn’t want to start and had clouds of white smoke coming out of exhaust. Took back to dealership today and was told I need a new motor-coolant was leaking into cylinder 4. My car only has 127,000 miles on it. Now I can’t drive it and have to come up with $6231.00 for a used motor with 30k miles on it.
When closing the back window of my Nissan Rogue it shattered
Since October of 2024, I've been having recurring leaks coming through the front right passenger's side at the top corner of the windshield, where the seam in the fabric meets. I have had multiple appointments at Nissan dealerships, where I've been told "your drains are clogged," "it's how it was manufactured," "we'll add some sealant," etc. and the problem has progressively gotten worse and worse, spreading to other areas of my roof, staining my interior, and causing mold and mildew issues. I wonder if it's not a sunroof problem, but a roof rack problem. There was a recall on a batch of 2021 Nissan Rogues in 2021 for this issue, but my car's manufacturing date unfortunately did not fall under that recall. Nissan will not check to see if that's the issue since my car is not technically under recall. I've found a huge community of people online who have had the same problems with their Nissan Rogues, and have unfortunately either had to sell their cars back to the dealership, or are living with mold and mildew in their cars because it's a problem that Nissan has not been willing to fix. I'm asking that this problem is looked into further on behalf of myself and other 2021 Nissan Rogue owners whose particular manufacturing dates did not fall under the recall for the leaking roof racks (attached) and are continuing to have water leak into their cars. My whole sunroof, besides the glass, was replaced in June of 2025, and the problem worsened (photos attached). My car is now back
I was backing out of a parking garage and I had the steering wheel turned while I was reversing so I could exit the lot. I heard a pop and put the car in drive to move forward and the car would not move. Once I put the car in park and exited the vehicle I could see that the left tire was no longer attached to the steering column and that the tire rod had snapped dislodging the front left tire from the system.
I continue to get a check engine light on my car that reads code P0101. The very first time it happened I took it to a mechanic they read the diagnostic code and advised I would need to replace the Mass Airflow sensor. I purchase the part from a Nissan dealership and it was replaced by a mechanic approximately January 2025. The light would continue to come on sporadically. I took it back and was told that engine air filter was dirty. It was replaced the code was cleared and driving fine. 10 months later the same light and code are appearing on my car. It’s been taken to a mechanic whom after checking wiring and other components again believes it’s the mass air flow sensor. This part is not cheap but continues to cause a problem even when replaced with genuine parts.
I noticed that my car was often unlocked after I knew for a fact that I locked it. I also had a problem with the right passenger door not unlocking even when the unlock button was pushed. I would often have to physically unlock that door on its own. After this happened for about a month, the car now opens even if I have locked it, with some of the doors causing the alarm to sound, even the door easily opened. I am concerned about safety especially when going out late at night or leaving my car parked in public lots. The problem was confirmed by the dealer when I went in for service. They inspected it and told me the door lock actuators on the back doors are bad. After looking this up, I see that there is a class action suit pending for this issue. There were no warnings prior to this happening.
I have 2021 Nissan to and my suv is drinking a lot of coolant. I have a cracked head gasket where the car has never over heated. It’s coolant mixed with my oil and sometimes it has trouble cranking. When it does crank a bunch of white smoke comes from the exhaust pipe. I haven’t even had the car 2 years and it’s a blown head gasket in the engine. Dealer says I need a new engine
During a recent trip I noticed a "fluttering/rattling" noise coming from the top of the windshield of our 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum. The noise was very noticeable at interstate highway speed and on rougher road surfaces. While looking for the source of noise I found staining on the driver side headliner and interior front pillar garnish. Took Rogue to dealer and was told that the seal for the attachment clips for the roof rack were leaking into the interior. Leakage had damaged headliner and gotten into the airbag. The roof racks would have to be removed and sealed and the entire headliner, front pillar garnish, and the airbag replaced. The total repair would cost approximately $4,000.00. Since the Rogue was 45 months old with 20,500 miles it was out of warranty due to its age. The dealer told me that I would be responsible for the cost to repair it since it was out of warranty. I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs to see if they would cover the cost since the leak was caused by a design and/or manufacturing defect. Nissan agreed to pay 90% of the repair but I would be responsible for the remaining 10% (approximately $400.00). I told them this was unacceptable and that Nissan should be responsible for the entire cost of the repair. Nissan has refused my requests to cover the full cost of repair. An internet search revealed that Nissan was aware of the defect and had issued a Service Bulletin (NTB21-097, dated 10/20/21), which was a few months before we purchased the vehicle.
My auctuators door locks have failed numerous times. The passenger rear was replaced when the vehicle was still under warranty. In the last 6 months the front drivers side, and passenger side has failed. Nissan does not have a recall on these and should! My car only has 32,000 miles on it. There obviously is an issue that needs to be addressed with a recall.
This is a follow up on my email originally sent to Nissan North America, Inc. & forwarded to The US NHTSA. I had purchased a used 2021 Nissan Rogue SV Car bearing the VIN as [XXX] from a local used car dealer in Garland TX USA. The car ran well in the last 2 years except for 1 time repair issue on the Radiator & now the Engine. On [XXX], my car started giving me trouble on the excessive consumption of the Coolant & it got exceptionally overheated while driving. Regular Timely Service has been done on the car. More recently, the car's engine got locked a few times & did not start upon my attempting to start the car. I took the car to Christian Brothers Automotive in Bedford, TX where they diagnosed that the vehicle struggles to start & runs rough. Vehicle smells like it is burning coolant badly, pulled out oil dipstick & found coolant mixed with oil, Blown head gasket and recommended a new engine. Driving at that time was not recommended due to the overheating issues. I took the car to Nissan of Lewisville/Lewisville Nissan & requested them to check the car thoroughly. Initially, I requested a basic 60K Service package which included a Radiator Coolant Flush & other necessary services provided by Nissan North America/Nissan Motor Corporation. Nissan of Lewisville/Lewisville Nissan refused to repair the car claiming expired warranty and demanded $10000.00 from me besides their repeated threats for charging storage fees & towing charges. I invoked 15 years Manufacturer's Implied
My back hatch has been leaking causing my camera to mess up I do have video of it but I’ve been told many other rogue owners have this issue

My 2021 Nissan rouge spontaneously caught on fire at midnight on 7/31/2025.
2021 NISSAN ROGUE SV FWD 5N1AT3BAXMC6*****. Water leaking inside interior During rain storm in upper left drivers side corner of vehicle. Shifter delayed when shifting into PARK, NEUTRAL, REVERSE, or DRIVE and shifter assembly indicator lights are out. Reference NTB21-069A. This is a known issue. A corrupted Shifter Assembly has caused this vehicle to display multiple warnings such as CVT warnings , shifter position warnings, front and rear crash sensors unavailable, and a multitude of other electrical system warnings. Communications with Nissan consumer affairs and Nissan service departments both of which state the vehicle is out of warranty and repairs for this known issue will be charged to customer despite evidence this is a manufacturing defect known to exist within this year make and model.
When driving and going to turn the steering wheel locked up and vehicle stayed turning right. Had to force steering wheel back. After getting steering unlock it did it again when I was at stop sign. Also could hear noise is steering column. Steering wheel locked with no warning lamps or messages. Took vehicle to Nissan dealership. Dealership said it didn't lock up for them but they could hear the noise. Dealership took steering column apart and replaced steering column clock spring.
I had purchased a brand new 2021 Nissan Rouge SV AWD in 2021. I am now at 46,000 miles and I have had all system lights on and off since purchase. The first started with back hatch around 20 miles, went to go get it taken care of and it disappeared. I have broke down with electrical issues twice now, with error code of 'Warning Malfunction', 'forward collision warning', 'air bag', 'forward collision light' and 'check engine" on dash. On Sunday August 10 2025, I was driving on the highway at 70 MPH, and my vehicle slammed on the brakes automatically with kids in the car. Looking at the dashboard showed forward collision light, with no cars near me. I then went 35 MPH to get off nearest exit. I made it home safely with minor issues to kids neck from the brake issue. Yesterday on August 13 2025 I went to my local supermarket to get milk, and the car wouldn't start after I went shopping and showed a different error of 'Malfunction'. In the winter time the light of forward collision comes on, and I have no control over my vehicle at all. I then assumed I needed better tires and purchased them, however it made no difference. This SUV is very dangerous, and I am terrified to even drive it. The airbag light has now been on also, and in addition to yesterday's break down, the engine light is also on. I have an appointment again for my Nissan dealer now on Tuesday August 19 2025, and hoping this will be resolved. At 46,000 miles this should not be an issue, let alone danger my family.
Driver side rear door lock electrical actuator will not lock or unlock the door. Door has to be manually unlocked. In the event of an emergency, it will delay the egress of a passenger in the rear seat. The issue would make it near impossible to unlock the door in an emergency especially if it were submerged in water. This is a safety issue and has occurred on a number of these Nissan vehicles. The vehicle is available for inspection if requested.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving 30-35 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road, and the vehicle was able to restart initially; however, the failure persisted while driving, and the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to Firestone, where an unknown, incomplete diagnosis was made. The vehicle was in the process of being towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact called the manufacturer but was unable to speak to a live representative. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
