2025 Nissan Rogue

Defect. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Rogue vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. The gears in the electronic throttle body assembly may break.

Risk. Broken throttle body gears can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software and inspect and replace the electronic throttle body assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 8, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25E2, R25E3 and R25A9. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning February 27, 2026.

Defect. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Rogue vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. Increased temperatures can break down the engine oil, which may cause the engine bearings to seize and become damaged, leading to engine failure.

Risk. Engine failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire.

Remedy. Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software, inspect for diagnostic trouble codes, and test drive the vehicle, free of charge. The dealer may also inspect the oil pan for metal debris, and replace the engine if necessary. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 8, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25E2 and R25E3. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V437. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning February 27, 2026.

Defect. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Rogue and 2025 INFINITI QX80 vehicles. A software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk. The loss of the rearview camera image while in reverse can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. The in-vehicle infotainment software will be updated by an over-the-air (OTA) software update or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 2, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261 or INFINITI's customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R24B3 and R24B4.

I came out of work to find my back windshield completely spider cracked with no apparent physical damage

While driving the steering wheel pulled to the left then shook a little after. Then it kind of pulled to the right. I kept driving and later in afternoon received email from Nissan that my Electronic Power Steering System may not be functioning properly. They recommended to have it serviced asap. Same drive, a car pulled in front of me and I did not get a verbal or audible warning regarding a possible front collision. My ADAS was repaired in August. While cars stopped at red light, I came up on a stopped vehicle purposefully and got very close. No warning again with a system that was repaired last month. No braking either.

While driving on highway rear windshield exploded without any reason.

YES. 9/4/2026 I WENT TO GET IN THE VEHICLE THAT WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY AND NOTICED THE BACK GLASS WAS SHATTERED I ATTEMPTED TO SEARCH THE CAR FOR BASEBALLS OR ROCKS NO EVIDENCE OF FOUL PLAY WAS FOUND AND WHEN I SHUT THE DOOR WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE THE WHOLE BACK GLASS CAVED IN. I WAS TOLD THE ROGUE HAS A DEFECTIVE BACK GLASS AND I AM THANKFUL I WAS NOT GOING DOWN THE HWY AT 70 MPH W MY CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT AS THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS. IT SAID HIGH TEMPS CAN BURST THE GLASS AND IT WAS 100 DEGREES THE DAY THE GLASS SHATTERED BUT WE OWN OTHER VEHICLES THAT WITHHELD THAT TYPE OF TEMP. I DONT THINK THIS IS FAIR I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO REPLACE THE GLASS WHEN MY VEHICLE IS UNDER MANUFACTURS WARRANTY ONLY HAVING 20K MILES ON THE VEHICLE IM A VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER W NISSAN.

The vehicle was recalled and when they reprogrammed the ECM, a code P11a9 appeared which led to the VCR actuator. They had to perform a VCR base position learning procedure. Initially, the service tech and service manager told us we needed a new engine.also, the ADAS and lane departure parts needed to be replaced as the crash malfunction light came on at about 65 miles.

While driving my 2025 Nissan rogue Platinum on the parkway while engaging their propilot assist function my car randomly and on multiple occasions applied the brakes when it wasn't necessary. Just led to at least one occasion where there was almost a severe accident however thankfully I was able to regain control in time. On these occasions they are completely random does not happen every time it's just tends to happen when I least expect it. It's happened at least 5 to 10 times over the past year I've brought it into my local dealership and it's currently there a second time and they claim they are unable to replicate the issue. Lastly on another occasion the words malfunctioning check our owners manual appeared on my dashboard and then propilot assist was unable to function at all until the car was turned off and back on I captured video of this and attached it

After multiple issues with the motor of my new Rogue, my windshield spontaneously shattered this week. I'm glad I was not driving the vehicle when it occurred because apparently it sounded like a shotgun when it ruptured. This is a major issue apparently for many Rogue owners. My concern is what else might be wrong with the vehicle - not a safe vehicle for sure. If you're a mom and driving with little kiddos - please find a safer vehicle! Nissan is repairing the windshield and is trying to offer to trade the vehicle - which is a sign that they are aware of this problem among Rogues.

The contact owns a 2025 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving 55 MPH, the rear windshield exploded without impact. The contact stated that there was no injury sustained but there was broken glass on the hands. Medical attention was not needed. The local dealer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was referred to the insurance company. No additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 35,804.

The vehicle DTC was 11A9, they said everything was checked and “fine”. The crash collision/malfunction light came on second day of owning brand new vehicle. 2sensors are bad and need replacement. Vehicle has 437 on it.

The contact owns a 2025 Nissan Rogue. While the contact’s wife was driving the vehicle at an undisclosed speed with the rear defroster engaged, there was a loud banging sound coming from the vehicle, and the liftgate glass shattered. The rear glass was not impacted by an object to cause the glass to shatter. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer; however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 13,000.

The contact owns a 2025 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while at a complete stop, the Auto START/STOP engaged independently, causing the front driver’s side seat to move backwards. No warning light was illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to two separate dealers to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the vehicle was unintendedly switching driver profiles, causing the seat setting to change. The contact was informed that the software needed to be updated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle needed to be taken to a dealer to be diagnosed, and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 11,000.

In July 16, 2026, at 4:34 pm I was driving my Nissan Rogue at 45 mph with my elderly mother in law sitting next to the window it exploded for no apparent reason. There was no other traffic next to us and in looking at the shattered glass that rained into the car there was no rock, bullet, or any foreign matter that would have caused the glass to explode. The weather outside was partly cloudy and the temperature was in the mid-90s. It is a new car but this was a very dangerous thing to happen and showered my passenger with glass.

Rear Window shatter spontaneously while parked for 6 hours in a secured parking lot. Rear window could have shattered while driving which could easily startle the driver and cause an accident. There is a class action lawsuit regarding this issue with rear windows shattering on their own. "[XXX], et al. v. Nissan North America Inc., et al., Case No.XXX, in the U.S. District Court for the XXX" It was inspected by the rental company I obtained it from Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Opened passenger rear door, then closed it. Heard a loud noise. Not realizing what it was walked around the back of the car to see the rear windshield had exploded and glass what still falling and was hitting my legs when I got back there.

The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle and turning on the air conditioner, a loud abnormal sound was heard, and the rear windshield independently fractured. The contact stated that the failure occurred during extremely hot outside temperatures. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where the rear windshield was replaced. However, the contact stated that the vehicle was unsafe to drive and expressed relief that the grandchildren were not occupying the rear seats during the incident. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.

The rear hatch window in my 2025 nissan rogue rock creek with 13,500 miles spontaneously exploded out while parked. This could have caused significant injury and or damage to another person or vehicle. The entire rear window shattered. The glass could have cut someone if the vehicle was occupied when it happened. I've had to file a insurance claim which has cost me my deductible. The dealership acted like they had no clue about this being an issue and has not helped in any way to repair or offer options. So now it comes out of my pocket.

Rear window suddenly shattered

Check Engine light code P2482 EGT Sensor 5 Bank 1. Harness was shredded by the metal brackets that hold the wire in place running from the EGT probe to the plug. The metal brackets allow the wire to rub against it shredding the insulation and causing the wires inside to be destroyed. This has happened twice on the above vehicle. March 2026 and June 2026.

2025 Rogue back window completely shattered.

The contact rented a 2025 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that after parking and turning off the vehicle, the contact exited the vehicle and closed the front driver’s side door and the rear hatch door glass suddenly imploded and shattered causing shards of glass to project into the rear seat of the vehicle. The contact stated that the glass was not impacted to cause the failure. The manufacturer and rental company was not yet contacted regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 42,115.
