Defect. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Rogue vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. The gears in the electronic throttle body assembly may break.

Risk. Broken throttle body gears can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software and inspect and replace the electronic throttle body assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 8, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25E2, R25E3 and R25A9. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning February 27, 2026.

Increased temperatures can break down the engine oil, which may cause the engine bearings to seize and become damaged, leading to engine failure.

Risk. Engine failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire.

Remedy. Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software, inspect for diagnostic trouble codes, and test drive the vehicle, free of charge. The dealer may also inspect the oil pan for metal debris, and replace the engine if necessary. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 8, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25E2 and R25E3. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V437. Defect. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Rogue and 2025 INFINITI QX80 vehicles. A software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk. The loss of the rearview camera image while in reverse can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. The in-vehicle infotainment software will be updated by an over-the-air (OTA) software update or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 2, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261 or INFINITI's customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R24B3 and R24B4.

The contact owns a 2025 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that after driving to work and parking the vehicle, several hours later, the contact entered the vehicle, closed the door, and heard a glass shattering sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact inspected the vehicle and discovered that the rear hatch glass had shattered. The contact later obtained video footage showing that the rear hatch glass had shattered without impact. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 27,000.

While in the drive thru, my rear windshield spontaneously shattered. Cops were dispatched and confirmed that nothing hit the car.

On XXX, I rented this 2025 Nissan Rogue via Turo (reservation #XXX) from Corona Nissan dealership, [XXX] (vehicle titled to OKDAK INC at the same address). Within approximately two hours of pickup, dashboard malfunction warning lights began turning on and off. On XXX, a Nissan technician at Lithia Nissan of Downtown Los Angeles (invoice #XXX) test-drove the vehicle about 2 miles, confirmed the malfunction lights cycling, and on inspection found the lane camera mounting bracket broken and glued on. The technician documented that the vehicle is not safe to drive. No crash or injury occurred because I stopped driving it and had it towed/returned via roadside services. I got up this morning to get into my vehicle. When I was in my vehicle while it was parked I noticed that the back glass window was covered in spiderweb fractures. I went to get out of my vehicle to check it out I noticed a few micro-shards of glass on the ground then I noticed that my entire window was cracked. While checking for signs of attempted break (there were none) the glass all eventually fell apart. So now I have glass all in my trunk

On 9/29/2026, my 2025 Nissan Rogue was parked in the parking garage at my workplace. When I left for the day and arrived at my vehicle, I noticed shattered glass on the ground behind it. I immediately went to the building security office to report the incident. Security reviewed the camera footage and identified a three‑minute window in which the damage occurred. No individuals or vehicles were near my car at the time of the spontaneous rear‑window failure.

The rear windshield glass shattered suddenly after I opened and closed the rear passenger door. The windshield had a big hole and the glass broken into hundreds of little pieces falling into the truck and on the ground.

The front and back collision warning system lights are on indicating that they are not working, this is a Nissan 2025 rouge sv, they turned on when accelerating from stop and now I have lost my turbo pressure (won't go over 0), and when in park it revs up and down without my input. ACCELERATING FROM STOP TURNS CAR INTO LIMP MODE

It was a beautiful day between 68-75 degrees. Got into my Rouge around 145p and when I shut my door the entire back window just shattered. I’m calling the manufacture tomorrow as there are many complaints on the internet as well as a possible class action lawsuit.

Failed Components: Engine valvetrain, powertrain/transmission, and electronic throttle control, directly linked to open federal safety recalls NHTSA 26V-080 and 26V-081. Safety Risk: The vehicle was sold CPO by Downey Nissan with unaddressed safety recalls. It suffers from severe engine vibration, a sharp mechanical valvetrain ticking noise, a persistent burning odor, and catastrophic transmission gear slippage that abruptly drops out of gear and slams back into drive mid-turn, creating an extreme collision hazard in traffic.

When I sat down in my car and closed the door the rear window exploded. It was in the morning at 5:15 am, still dark and cool.

The following day, while accelerating onto the freeway to merge into high-speed active traffic, a massive column of thick white smoke violently billowed out from the vehicle exhaust so thick I could not see vehicles around me. Concurrently, the engine temperature gauge spiked aggressively into the extreme hot/danger zone before erratically fluctuating back toward the normal range. Immediately following the temperature spike, the vehicle lost reliable acceleration, began severely lunging, jerking, and lost normal throttle response. The dashboard illuminated multiple critical malfunction alerts, specifically identifying a failure in the Emission Control System and the automatic Start-Stop system warning. Safety Risk Statement: The sudden powertrain failure and severe engine lunging occurred at highway speeds (65-70 mph) on a major freeway I-35, resulting in an immediate and hazardous drop in speed. As the vehicle slowed down rapidly in active traffic, I was forced to maneuver a failing vehicle across two active lanes of high-speed traffic and cut directly across a freeway on-ramp with a failing throttle to reach the safety of the shoulder, where I awaited a tow truck. While driving the start/stop fault popped up then the Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Parking Collision Warning malfunctioned. The vehicle also lost power when accelerating, RPM would go high but vehicle wouldn’t go any faster. Engine light came on. Had it scanned codes P0196 (engine oil temperature sensor ‘A’ range/performance) & P0507 (idle control system RPM-higher than expected). Fuel consumption goes fast.

The rear window exploded with no-one near it and not touching the lift gate. Nissan refused to do anything the car has only 7,420 miles on it

Dashboard displayed a "Forward Driving Aids Temporarily Disabled" message, and over the next 30 minutes, the braking system steadily failed until the pedal went completely dead, causing a multi-car collision

Back windshield spontaneously shattered. About 10 minutes after the car was parked a coworker heard a loud bang and noticed pieces of the window falling off of the car. When I came out (I was already inside) cracks were still appearing and pieces were falling off. I had put on the rear defrost on the way into work, about 10 minutes.

While driving the steering wheel pulled to the left then shook a little after. Then it kind of pulled to the right. I kept driving and later in afternoon received email from Nissan that my Electronic Power Steering System may not be functioning properly. They recommended to have it serviced asap. Same drive, a car pulled in front of me and I did not get a verbal or audible warning regarding a possible front collision. My ADAS was repaired in August. While cars stopped at red light, I came up on a stopped vehicle purposefully and got very close. No warning again with a system that was repaired last month. No braking either.

YES. 9/4/2026 I WENT TO GET IN THE VEHICLE THAT WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY AND NOTICED THE BACK GLASS WAS SHATTERED I ATTEMPTED TO SEARCH THE CAR FOR BASEBALLS OR ROCKS NO EVIDENCE OF FOUL PLAY WAS FOUND AND WHEN I SHUT THE DOOR WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE THE WHOLE BACK GLASS CAVED IN. I WAS TOLD THE ROGUE HAS A DEFECTIVE BACK GLASS AND I AM THANKFUL I WAS NOT GOING DOWN THE HWY AT 70 MPH W MY CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT AS THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS. IT SAID HIGH TEMPS CAN BURST THE GLASS AND IT WAS 100 DEGREES THE DAY THE GLASS SHATTERED BUT WE OWN OTHER VEHICLES THAT WITHHELD THAT TYPE OF TEMP. I DONT THINK THIS IS FAIR I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO REPLACE THE GLASS WHEN MY VEHICLE IS UNDER MANUFACTURS WARRANTY ONLY HAVING 20K MILES ON THE VEHICLE IM A VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER W NISSAN.

The vehicle was recalled and when they reprogrammed the ECM, a code P11a9 appeared which led to the VCR actuator. They had to perform a VCR base position learning procedure. Initially, the service tech and service manager told us we needed a new engine.also, the ADAS and lane departure parts needed to be replaced as the crash malfunction light came on at about 65 miles.

While driving my 2025 Nissan rogue Platinum on the parkway while engaging their propilot assist function my car randomly and on multiple occasions applied the brakes when it wasn't necessary. Just led to at least one occasion where there was almost a severe accident however thankfully I was able to regain control in time. On these occasions they are completely random does not happen every time it's just tends to happen when I least expect it. It's happened at least 5 to 10 times over the past year I've brought it into my local dealership and it's currently there a second time and they claim they are unable to replicate the issue. Lastly on another occasion the words malfunctioning check our owners manual appeared on my dashboard and then propilot assist was unable to function at all until the car was turned off and back on I captured video of this and attached it

After multiple issues with the motor of my new Rogue, my windshield spontaneously shattered this week. I'm glad I was not driving the vehicle when it occurred because apparently it sounded like a shotgun when it ruptured. This is a major issue apparently for many Rogue owners. My concern is what else might be wrong with the vehicle - not a safe vehicle for sure. If you're a mom and driving with little kiddos - please find a safer vehicle! Nissan is repairing the windshield and is trying to offer to trade the vehicle - which is a sign that they are aware of this problem among Rogues.

The vehicle DTC was 11A9, they said everything was checked and “fine”. The crash collision/malfunction light came on second day of owning brand new vehicle. 2sensors are bad and need replacement. Vehicle has 437 on it.

In July 16, 2026, at 4:34 pm I was driving my Nissan Rogue at 45 mph with my elderly mother in law sitting next to the window it exploded for no apparent reason. There was no other traffic next to us and in looking at the shattered glass that rained into the car there was no rock, bullet, or any foreign matter that would have caused the glass to explode. The weather outside was partly cloudy and the temperature was in the mid-90s. It is a new car but this was a very dangerous thing to happen and showered my passenger with glass.

Opened passenger rear door, then closed it. Heard a loud noise. Not realizing what it was walked around the back of the car to see the rear windshield had exploded and glass what still falling and was hitting my legs when I got back there.

The rear hatch window in my 2025 nissan rogue rock creek with 13,500 miles spontaneously exploded out while parked. This could have caused significant injury and or damage to another person or vehicle. The entire rear window shattered. The glass could have cut someone if the vehicle was occupied when it happened. I've had to file a insurance claim which has cost me my deductible. The dealership acted like they had no clue about this being an issue and has not helped in any way to repair or offer options. So now it comes out of my pocket.

Rear window suddenly shattered

Check Engine light code P2482 EGT Sensor 5 Bank 1. Harness was shredded by the metal brackets that hold the wire in place running from the EGT probe to the plug. The metal brackets allow the wire to rub against it shredding the insulation and causing the wires inside to be destroyed. This has happened twice on the above vehicle. March 2026 and June 2026.

2025 Rogue back window completely shattered.

The contact stated that after parking and turning off the vehicle, the contact exited the vehicle and closed the front driver’s side door and the rear hatch door glass suddenly imploded and shattered causing shards of glass to project into the rear seat of the vehicle. The contact stated that the glass was not impacted to cause the failure. The manufacturer and rental company was not yet contacted regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 42,115.

While driving on the highway, the driver’s side windshield trim detached from the vehicle and became a potential road hazard that could have struck a vehicle traveling behind me. When I brought the vehicle to the dealership for inspection, I was informed that they have seen similar incidents involving this trim piece detaching from multiple vehicles.

I own a 2025 Nissan Rogue, and the rear windshield shattered suddenly without any impact, collision, or contact with an object. This was not caused by an accident or misuse on my part. My insurance company is only offering coverage if I meet the deductible, but the repair cost is below that amount, which leaves me responsible for the full out-of-pocket expense. On top of that, I am being told my premium may increase if I file the repair through them, which is difficult to understand given that this was a spontaneous defect, not an at-fault incident. Other Nissan Rogue drivers have reported the same issue, which suggests this may be a known problem and should be treated as such.

I had just finished pumping gas and heard a pop, and the sound of glass hitting the pavement. I walked to the back of my car and the back window glass had shattered. I saw no apparent reason for it to shatter. The car was stopped, the engine was off, and the side window was open because my dog was on the backseat. There was only a couple of duffle bags and a backpack by the liftgate. I did check online and there seems to be an issue and reports of the Nissan Rogue's liftgate glass shattering for no reason. It said I should report it. I will also call the dealer on Monday morning.

Dear Nissan Consumer Affairs, I am writing to formally report a serious safety issue involving my Nissan vehicle and to request full reimbursement for the repair costs I incurred as a result. On [XXX], I discovered that the rear window of my vehicle had unexpectedly shattered without any collision, impact, vandalism, or other outside force. The glass remained in place initially despite being shattered. However, when I closed the vehicle door under normal conditions, the entire rear window collapsed and fell inward. The force of simply closing the door should not cause a properly functioning rear window to fail. At no time was the vehicle involved in an accident, struck by debris, or subjected to any unusual conditions that would explain the damage. The spontaneous shattering and subsequent collapse of the glass strongly suggest a defect in the window, its installation, or another manufacturing-related issue. This incident created a significant safety hazard and could have resulted in injury to passengers. Vehicle glass is expected to withstand ordinary use, including the routine opening and closing of vehicle doors. Because this failure occurred through no fault of my own, I do not believe I should be responsible for the cost of repairs. Was driving up the interstate to work this morning. Before i got to my exit my rear window exploded. This was a huge safety risk as the noise alone caused me to jump and almost veer into a car in the lane beside me which created risk for myself, my dog and others in the vehicles beside and around me. I called Nissan today and was told i had to file it on my insurance. I did call Highway Patrol and have a report issued and there was no sign of damage on what was actually left remaining in the rear hatch. There were no warning lights or errors prior to the incident, and the vehicle just had a State Inspection less that 6 months ago.

Constant forward driving aids disabled due to blocked camera. Has been to the dealer on 6/11/25 7/16/25, 8/7/25 and was scheduled to go back tomorrow for the same issue as well as recall repair and oil change. That was cancelled due to the rear window blowing out this morning and having to have it repaired before driving in all the rain we are having. The "Forward Driving Aids disabled due to blocked camera" appears ALOT and i do get out and check the camera and there is nothing.

A beeping noise would emit from the hatch as it's coming down which resulted in the contact being hit on her head. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where the mechanic experienced the failure first hand upon inspection of the vehicle. The mechanic could not diagnose the cause of the failure and could not repair the vehicle. The contact later received a text message from the dealer that informed her that there was a recall(recall unknown) on the vehicle to address the failure; however, her vehicle's VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

Vehicle could not brake. The abs brakes did not function and forward collission warning did not go on causing a collission with another car that cut in front of car. This caused collission, airbags to deploy and car is totaled. Driver and passenger were injured due to crash and air bag deployment. On the day of crash I received a warning in my app requesting I have my abs checked at dealer because abs brakes might not function properly from Nissan.
