2019 Chrysler Pacifica

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019 and 2023 Chrysler Pacifica, 2024 Ram 1500, Ram 2500, and 2024-2025 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. Contamination in the central vision processing module or improper programming may cause the rearview camera image not to display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk. A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will update the central vision processing module software or replace the module, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning July 16, 2026. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 46D. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov on May 28, 2026.

Defect. Rollx Vans (Rollx) is recalling certain GMC Yukon, Sierra, Chevrolet Express 2500, Ford Transit, E-250, Toyota Sienna, Sienna Hybrid, Honda Odyssey, Chrysler Town and Country, Voyager, Pacifica, Dodge Grand Caravan, and Ram Promaster vehicles equipped with QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max wheelchair restraints. Please refer to Rollx's recall report for specific model year information. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.

Risk. An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy. Rollx will work with Q'Straint to inspect and replace the retractors as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 5, 2026. Owners may contact Rollx's customer service at 1-800-956-6668.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2017-2023 Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid Electric vehicles (PHEVs). An internal transmission wiring connector may short circuit, resulting in an unexpected engine shutdown.

Risk. An unexpected engine shutdown can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will update the Power Inverter Module (PIM) software and, if necessary, update the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and the electronic control module (ECM) software, free of charge. FCA US will notify dealers and begin notifying owners on or about: 03/21/2023 for 2021 model year vehicles, 05/02/2023 for 2019-2020 model year vehicles, and 06/15/2023 for 2017-2018 model year vehicles. Risk. The lingering rearview image can distract the driver, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler has notified owners, and dealers will update the radio display software, free of charge. Optionally, owners can choose to remotely update their software via an Over-The-Air (OTA) update available as of May 1, 2020. The recall began April 27, 2020. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Pacifica vehicles equipped with an 8.4 inch radio display, 360 degree surround view camera system, and seat back video screens. A software error can cause the rearview camera image to remain displayed on the radio after the vehicle has been shifted out of reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rearview Mirrors."

Risk. The lingering rearview image can distract the driver, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the radio software, free of charge. The recall began January 9, 2020. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is VE2.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Pacifica vehicles equipped with engine stop/start systems. A loose battery ground connection may result in an intermittent loss of power steering assist and/or a stall.

Risk. A loss of power steering assist or a stall can increase the risk of crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the battery ground surfaces, clean the contact surfaces as needed, and properly reassemble the ground connection, free of charge. The recall began May 24, 2019. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US' number for this recall is V53.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018 Jeep Renegade, Compass and Grand Cherokee, RAM 1500 and Promaster, Fiat 500x, Dodge Journey, Challenger, Charger and Durango and Chrysler 300x vehicles, 2017-2018 Jeep Wrangler, Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country vehicles and 2018-2019 Jeep Cherokee and 2018 Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid vehicles. The powertrain control module may be equipped with a voltage regulator chip in the circuit board that may fail, causing a stall or a no start condition.

Risk. A vehicle stall can increase the risk of a crash.

I am experiencing an issue with the steering in my vehicle, in which the steering wheel shutters and rattles/shakes when making turns. This happens mostly when turning left at slow speeds, but also sometimes when turning right. The shuttering and shaking typically happens around the 11 and 1 o'clock position. This issue is very worrisome, as I am afraid that the power steering will completely fail one day, leading to a crash. I am also having an issue in which the start/stop system shuts down in the middle of driving the vehicle around town. More than half of the time that I drive it, the start/stop system stops working, and a warning light appears. I have had a few times in which the engine will turn off completely at a stop light, which is very worrisome. The dealer has diagnosed the steering issue as needing a new steering rack, at the cost of $5000. Reading online, I am finding MANY other Pacifica owners who have these exact same issues. I believe that they are caused by manufacture defect, and a recall needs to be issued. I believe the problems with my vehicle are related to NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: PE25009.

At 105,000 miles the check engine light came on, at which point the vehicle experienced rough starts and a rough idle. Vehicle also began emitting white/gray smoke from the exhaust upon starting. Upon diagnosis it was determined that coolant was leaking into #4 cylinder requiring head gasket replacement. Total repair came to $4,287.07. This is a known issue commonly being experienced by other Pacifica owners. This major mechanical issue is a safety issue and could easily have stranded my family on the road. We were fortunate to have been home and located near a known and trusted mechanic when the issue presented.

The contact owns a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle lost motive power and the engine shut off. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving in Reverse (R), the rearview camera displayed a frozen image. The dealer was notified of the failures. The contact stated that the failures were known issues for the vehicle model. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and advised the contact to report the issues to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 112,000.

I am reporting repeated electrical failures affecting my 2019 Chrysler Pacifica Touring, including recurring auxiliary battery failures, stop/start warnings, dashboard malfunctions and electronic shifter faults. Despite multiple dealership repairs, the problem continues. August 22, 2023: Auxiliary stop/start battery replaced under Mopar warranty at Jim Shorkey Chrysler, as documented in subsequent service records. August 26–28, 2024: Following another stop/start warning, Ferman Chrysler tested both batteries and found both failed load testing. The main battery was replaced and auxiliary battery warranty work was documented. September 8–9, 2025: Stop/start warning followed by electronic shifter malfunction. Ferman Chrysler confirmed the auxiliary battery had failed and replaced it under warranty. July 7, 2026: Jim Shorkey Chrysler documented previous starting problems and reported battery health at 78%. October 13, 2026: On starting the vehicle, the instrument cluster flickered repeatedly, and multiple warning lights appeared. A Service Shifter warning followed, and the rotary gear selector indicator lights stopped illuminating. Gear selection remained functional, and the lights subsequently returned. Diagnostic codes included P00FD (Battery B state of charge), U145D-00 and U0402-00 (transmission control communication), U0432, U0418, C006A-54 and C2222-68, indicating faults involving multiple electronic systems. Steering wheel sticks when slightly turning either direction and when you apply force to unstick over corrects making it very dangerous and a safety issue especially on highways. Researching shows this is pretty common in this year and model

We are on a 5th! Auxiliary battery since purchasing the vehicle new in 2019. It fails every 1-2 years and it causes the main battery to drain as a result of it which means replacing both batteries on average every 18 months.

My 2019 Chrysler Pacifica experienced repeated electrical/network communication failures. The first sign was erratic dashboard behavior and a check-engine light in our resort parking lot. We drove to Pep Boys, where it was evaluated and we were told it was okay to drive. We then drove to Chick-fil-A (.4 miles from Pep Boys). While stopped in the drive-thru in Drive with my foot on the brake, the vehicle began dinging, the engine revved, and multiple warning lights/messages appeared, including the check-engine light, red electronic throttle control warning, “Blind Spot Alert Temporarily Unavailable,” “Service Trans Stop Safely Shut Off Engine to Engage Park,” and “Stop/Start Not Ready.” After shutting it off, it would not reliably restart, and when it did, I could not shift it to move. The vehicle returned to Pep Boys, where DTCs U0001 (CAN C Bus) and U0401 (Implausible Data Received From ECM/PCM) were documented. It then went to a Chrysler dealership in Florida. They evaluated it and told us it checked out and was okay to drive. After leaving that dealership, the problem returned while my family and I were traveling at highway speed. The vehicle malfunctioned and began losing acceleration. I exited the highway. When I stopped at a stop sign, the vehicle died. It restarted but again would not shift. The transmission has a very abrupt slamming or violent jerk around 45 mph. This has been since we bought the vehicle. Even with consistent routine maintenance this slamming has gotten worse. I believe this to be a manufacturer defect in the transmission that will cause premature failure. We have reported this to every dealer service center and private mechanic shop we have visited and were told that either they couldn't work on it or that it would require thousands of dollars to tear apart and inspect and even then we would more than likely need to foot the bill even if it was a defect and then try to get reimbursement from Chrysler/Stellantis. This transmission defect along with the coolant leaking into the engine issue that was submitted a year or more ago that has gone unanswered is making me lose faith in the manufacturer and the government agency set to protect consumers and investigate these issues.

When in gentle right turns, the steering "sticks" at about 1:00 and I have to apply force to remove the steering wheel from that position. It results in oversteering, particularly at higher speeds.

Loss of power steering while driving

On 7/16/26 vehicle would not start; high-pitched noise heard near engine during no-start diagnosis. Towed to Goldy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Huntington WV. Per dealer invoice #27136: blown 500-amp main battery fuse found; after jumping past fuse, white smoke from exhaust and no coolant in system, diagnosed as blown head gasket. Repair: both-side head gasket replacement plus fuse assembly. Vehicle in shop 7+ weeks, returned 9/4/26 with new unresolved issue: strong smell of burned electronics and antifreeze in cabin. All failed components available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: head gasket failure/coolant intrusion caused engine hydrolock, a sudden uncommanded loss of engine power that can occur without warning, including while driving in traffic. Burned-electronics smell raises electrical/fire risk; antifreeze odor raises cabin fume exposure and window-fogging visibility concerns. Confirmed by dealer: Yes. Goldy diagnosed and documented the fuse failure, coolant loss, and head gasket failure in writing, and performed the repair. Manufacturer/police/insurance inspection: Not by police or insurance. Spoke by phone with a Chrysler HQ rep 5 times (8/13-9/1/26) who was informed; no confirmed independent physical inspection by manufacturer beyond dealer's own diagnosis. Warning signs: P0304 misfire on cylinder 3 appeared first, progressing to complete no-start with high-pitched noise, prompting the tow-in and hydrolock diagnosis.

The van has a consistent steering catch when traveling most pronounced at 11 and 1. The steering hangs and then releases which causes the van to travel unexpectedly into the other lane of traffic. There are no faults or other indicators visible with the vehicle to warn the driver of an issue. The issue is more noticeable when the outside air temperature is above 85 deg F and the van has been drive 15 or so miles. Additionally, a visual inspection of all mechanical components of the van related to steering does not show any abnormal wear and tear. The van has 126K miles on it.

The steering sticks normally when slightly turned especially going highway speeds around bends. You have to “yank” the wheel from it being stuck and risk over steering off the road or into other lane. Huge safety risk.

Almost got in 2 separate accidents because of a failed brake booster. No symptoms before hand to let me know anything was wrong. Came to a red light and the brakes became very hard to push and the vehicle proceeded to continue moving even though I hit the brake. It came to a stop in the middle of the intersection and I almost got hit. Also almost rear-ended someone because of the same issue. It has been confirmed at the Chrysler dealer that the brake booster failed. I have children and almost got into an accident twice because of it. Now I have to pay out of pocket because it got denied due to it being over the date of expiration. My vehicle has under 85,000 miles and now I'm out $700 because it won't get covered. It's a safety risk for me and my family.

Power steering sticks at highway speed around curves. This problem is worsening and is dangerous. The car has been inspected with repair estimates around $5,000.

My 2019 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L Plus is experiencing coolant leaking into a cylinder, diagnosed by. This has rendered the vehicle undrivable. The Pentastar 3.6L V6 engine used in this vehicle has a well-documented pattern of coolant intrusion into cylinders due to head gasket failure across the 2017–2019 Chrysler Pacifica model years, based on extensive owner complaints already on file with NHTSA and reported by consumer advocacy organizations. Despite this known pattern, no recall currently exists covering this specific defect for 2019 model year vehicles. This is a safety concern because coolant intrusion into a cylinder can cause sudden misfires, rough running, loss of power, and potential stalling while driving — creating a hazard in traffic, particularly at highway speeds or during turns/merges. I contacted Chrysler Case Management regarding this issue. The manufacturer has attempted to attribute responsibility to the dealership rather than acknowledging this as a manufacturer defect in the engine design/manufacturing, despite the well-documented pattern across multiple model years of the same engine. I have also not been provided a rental vehicle despite my vehicle being undrivable.

The car rapidly came to a stop as I was starting to press the brake lightly. The check engine light came on, the car made a grinding noise, and the screen said it was turning off cruise control when it had not been engaged.

I am experiencing an intermittent steering problem with my 2019 Chrysler Pacifica Limited. While driving, particularly when making slight turns or small steering corrections, the steering wheel sometimes feels as though it sticks or binds in the turned position instead of smoothly returning toward center. When this occurs, I have to apply additional force to the steering wheel to correct the vehicle’s direction. Once enough force is applied, the steering releases and moves, which can cause the vehicle to correct more abruptly than intended. This occurs at both lower and higher driving speeds and is especially noticeable during gradual turns and small steering corrections near the center position. The problem creates a safety concern because the vehicle can continue traveling in the direction of the slight turn until I deliberately apply additional steering force. This makes maintaining the intended direction of travel less predictable. There are currently no power-steering or other steering-related warning lights displayed on the dashboard. When the vehicle is stationary with the engine running, the steering wheel turns smoothly and I have not been able to reproduce the sticking sensation. The problem occurs while the vehicle is being driven. I took the vehicle to an authorized Chrysler dealership and reported the steering concern. The brake booster has failed, a hissing noise is audible coming from the brake pedal when depressed. I have also noticed reducing stopping power in certain situations. It appears this issues is referenced by Chrysler in an extended warranty, covered under Mopar Warranty Bulletin D-22-15, however this car has now been in service for 6 years.

As I pulled up to stop, in electric mode, at a stop light, the display screen pulled up a message to pull over safely because the engine would stop soon, within about 10 seconds the screen showed the engine stopped. I was still at the light. I tried restarting the vehicle, moving the shifter from drive to park and back, pressing the park button several times with no success. With cars honking behind me, I got out of the car, told them my car had died and asked them to drive around me. I got back in the car, repeated the actions a few times and the car started in electric mode. I drove home (about 5 miles) without incident. Check engine light was on. I pulled 2 codes U0412 and U029a. I have had the U0412 code a few times before with only the check engine light coming on. It would go away in a day or two (no check engine light and no code). U029a is new.

Dash warning came on saying safely slown and pull over, car will shut off soon. Didn't have a safe place to pull over and eventually the whole car shut down and all electronics went out no steering, no gear shifting, No way to put in park. I was lucky to be on a somewhat sife road to pull over to side do safely get the car off the road so it would not get rear ended from other cars. The warning to shut down was like 1-2 minutes. Tried turning car back on but no power anywhere. Was able to jump car with portable battery power supply, but when trying to shift the into drive to move to a safe spot, even if just into nurtal and push, all the gears (R, N, D, L) were blinking and when you turned to any position it immediately went back to park. Wait waited 10 minutes, retried and was able to get into drive. There was now a check engine light on and a P! Light. Immediately drive to closest dealership (20 miles away) with no issues and they said there were like 120 codes and they couldn't assess them as their electrician was not working and there was no other dealer or shop around to do this. I drove back to my residence and there were no errors and the check engine light and P! Light went off. This pull over and stop warning has come on periodically over the past 2onths but the car never stopped. I was always able to pull over, stop the car and restart and the warnings went away and I would not have any issues for more than a week. All batteries (main and aux are both brand new).

While driving, the vehicle began to sputter and the check engine light illuminated. A scan at a franchised dealership showed a stored code for a cylinder 4 misfire. Further diagnosis found coolant intrusion into cylinder 4, indicating internal failure of the left cylinder head and/or head gasket, allowing coolant into the combustion chamber. Upon removing the left valve cover and camshafts, the technician found a broken head gasket and a warped left cylinder head. The dealership replaced the left cylinder head, head gasket, cylinder head cover gasket, and oxygen sensor, refilled coolant, and replaced the PCV valve as a maintenance item. After repair, the vehicle was test driven and no further misfire was detected. This failure occurred at approximately 72,000 miles, low mileage for a major internal engine component, shortly after the factory powertrain warranty expired, leaving the owner responsible for the full repair cost. A misfire caused by coolant entering a cylinder can cause sudden, unexpected loss of engine power and rough running while driving, a safety concern in traffic, on highways, or when merging and passing, since reduced power can make it hard to maintain speed or accelerate out of a hazardous situation. Continued driving with undiagnosed coolant intrusion can also cause secondary engine damage, including hydrolock. The vehicle’s braking system is not working properly. The brake pedal pumps and does not always respond correctly when pressure is applied. When backing up, the brakes pump and do not stop the vehicle as expected. While driving forward, the vehicle may continue moving even after the brake pedal is pressed. Because of this, I have to begin braking much earlier than normal and stop farther back from stoplights and other vehicles to allow enough distance for the van to finally come to a complete stop. This issue puts the driver, passengers, and others on the road at risk because the vehicle may not stop when expected. It has been extremely scary, we stopped driving the van. The exact cause is UNKNOWN but the BREAKS for sure.

For a few weeks prior our windshield wipers would start and were unable to be switched off. Then would just randomly stop. Then we got completely stopped on a major road during rush-hour with my whole family in the car. The car moved itself to park at a stop light. When we were stopped, everything in the car was going haywire. FCW unavail, ABS unavail, check engine light, wipers going, couldn't use turn signals or hazard lights. I turned the car on/off multiple times to get it to work. We were stuck in the middle of a busy road above a highway with cars exiting during rush hour. Cars moving fast around me with my whole family in the car. Could have caused major accident. Chrysler dealer could not help right away. Took to own mechanic. Recreated issue, replaced Aux Battery (which should NOT have all safety features tied to it), and re-flashed 3 modules that were ruined from this. Thought this was fixed but next time out, same things started happening, but now says to service airbags as well. I will not have my family in the car with an airbag malfunction. Now saying 2-4 thousand to fix, more modules fried and ONLY the beginning. Car has only been inspected by dealer to pull codes, then mechanic. Like I said the windshield wipers were going and couldn't be controlled but no other warning lights. This did not indicate a battery failure and EVERY safety feature to be turned off. The vehicle intermittently displays a "Stop Safely – Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon" warning message accompanied by a turtle icon while driving, most often at highway speeds above approximately 50 mph. There is no consistent pattern or condition that triggers the warning. When the warning appears, I must immediately attempt to pull off the roadway because the vehicle indicates it will shut down. This creates a significant safety hazard, especially on interstate highways or roads without a safe shoulder. If the vehicle is turned off and restarted, the warning message disappears, but the check engine light remains illuminated. After the next ignition cycle, the check engine light also disappears, leaving no visible indication of the problem. The issue began occurring approximately once per year but has become progressively more frequent. It now occurs almost daily. During a recent 300-mile trip, the warning appeared four separate times. It also commonly occurs twice during a 60-mile drive. The increasing frequency has made the vehicle unreliable and unsafe to operate on highways. The vehicle has been taken to an authorized Chrysler dealership. However, the dealer stated they cannot diagnose or repair the problem unless the warning is actively displayed when the vehicle arrives. The steering "sticks" on either right or left hand curves (more left than right) under normal driving circumstances on paved roads. This causes a "jerk" when returning the wheel to center, after or as the vehicle is coming out of the curve. Definitely concerning. Noticed shortly after we purchased the van with 100,000 miles on the odometer.

Over a year ago I noticed several paint bubbles along the front edge of the hood above the grille. This is widely reported issue with the 2017–2020 Chrysler Pacifica. I brought the vehicle to a dealer in Cleveland, Ohio for an estimate in February 2025 and requested that a warranty/goodwill claim be submitted to Stellantis/Chrysler. Since then, I've followed up several times by phone but haven't received any updates. Unfortunately, the paint issue has continued to worsen. A misfire code came up. Had plugs done.. didn’t solve problem now blowing white smoke burning antifreeze. Head gaskets bad. We just bought this 2019 7 months ago. And it only had 68,000 miles on it now 71000 miles on it. We thought we would get the newer better vehicle and having engine problem in a car that we paid 22000 dollars for. Going to be an expensive fix on a problem that shouldn’t be occurring on a car with that mileage.

Powertrain: harsh, jerky shifting, violent, lurching gear changes, pause before engaging and high revving and lack of acceleration, mostly noticed at 50-60mph Steering PE25009 - catching or sticking when making minor or gradual turns in either direction when the steering wheel is positioned near the 11 o'clock or 1 o'clock positions. It requires extra force to break free and jerks the steering

When driving around curves the electric steering is malfunctioning. Making it unsafe to drive almost like it is sticking then when you correct it, it frees up and over corrects. This has been going on for some time now and keeps getting worse and worse. After a little research it seems a lot of other people are having this problem

The entire electrical system is messed up. There will be times it works fine but all of a sudden while driving the odometer will switch between mph and kilometers, it'll change the screen, heated seats/steering wheel will turn on or off, it'll change the air system, the stop/start frequently goes out, we've had to replace both batteries and within a few months are having to replace both again. The transmission has a lot of issues as well and it's not safe while driving it'll "jump" or stall while shifting gears.

2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The vehicle has ongoing steering, electrical, and power steering/EPS failures. The steering wheel intermittently jerks/pulls while driving, the vehicle has experienced random loss of steering assist, and the electrical system cuts out or malfunctions during normal use. The steering wheel lights and backup camera guidelines also disappear during driving sessions and only return after fully restarting the vehicle. The exact root cause is UNKNOWN, but the affected systems appear to include the EPS/power steering system, steering/suspension components, battery/electrical system, and possibly related control modules. My safety and others’ safety were put at risk because the vehicle has lost steering assist and had electrical failure while being driven, including a prior failure in an intersection. When the steering assist drops or the wheel jerks, the vehicle becomes difficult to control. This is especially dangerous because I transport my family in this vehicle. The issue has been reported repeatedly since purchase. The vehicle was inspected/repaired through Carvana/SilverRock’s repair process at Brockman Automotive, including rack and pinion/steering-related work. After that repair, the vehicle continued to drift and handle improperly. A later independent inspection at Davidson Automotive identified a loose/not properly secured tie rod, alignment problems, and a failed auxiliary battery. The contact owns a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked in a parking lot, the contact noticed that the lower passenger's side of the windshield, underneath the windshield wiper had cracked without impact. The insurance company was contacted and informed the contact that the repair would not be covered because the failure was a known factory defect. The dealer and the manufacturer were not yet contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 186,000.

2019 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid experienced a serious charging system failure during routine overnight charging using a standard Level 2 home charger that had previously worked without issue. In the morning, the charging connector was physically trapped in the vehicle charge port and could not be removed despite repeated normal troubleshooting attempts, including repeated unlock cycles, charger power cycling, breaker reset, and reseating attempts. Because the Pacifica Hybrid disables operation while a charging connector is detected, the vehicle became completely undrivable and required towing. Multiple AAA tow operators were unable to move the vehicle normally. We ultimately had to personally research and guide the tow operators through the manual neutral override procedure in order to get the vehicle into neutral and onto the tow truck. The dealership has suggested that the connector may have fused or arced together during charging and is attempting to characterize the situation as “not the vehicle’s fault.” Regardless of the precise electrical mechanism, this event occurred during ordinary intended use of the vehicle’s charging system. The end result was that the vehicle trapped the connector, immobilized itself, and stranded the owner without any meaningful owner-accessible recovery method. This is not ordinary wear and tear or a cosmetic inconvenience. This was a charging-system immobilization event involving a vehicle platform that already has a documented history of charg

The contact owns a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed, however the vehicle failed to stop as intended. The contact noticed an unusual hissing sound. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed to the floor. In addition, the contact stated that after the vehicle came to a complete stop, the vehicle rolled forward. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a failed vacuum pump and a failed brake booster. The contact was informed that the vacuum pump and the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The vehicle was scheduled for diagnostic testing within the next couple of days. The contact stated that the failure was persistent. In addition, the contact stated that the failure was a known failure of the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that the failure was not covered under any unknown recall or warranty program. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.

There was a clicking noise coming from under the dash. This flapping may have been going on for years. I only took in the car after a passenger noted that this noise was something abnormal. Others have noted that this will drain the secondary battery and I have had to have that battery replaced. The dealership said it would be five hundred dollars to replace the recirc door actuator (98258 B105D). They charged me $99.95 in labor to diagnose it. I bought a replacement part myself and replaced it myself. I disassembled what was supposed to be the faulty part, but found all gears perfectly fine. I noticed there were no issues related to the recirc door itself. The replacement part worked fine until the next day, when I pushed the passenger door lock button and the flapping noise resumed. I ran the old recirc motor disconnected from the recirc door and noticed that it exhibited a flapping behavior independent of whether or not it was actually attached to the door. This indicates a programming issue, not a physical issue.

The steering is tight/sticking when I back out of my driveway or drive slowly around turns. It does seem stiff on highway speeds as well. Also my auto stop start check light is on about 2 months after replacing both batteries and I did have the recall somewhat associated with this completed

I have had an issue with my brakes for a couple years. I have taken my van to a couple of different mechanics to express my concerns and they have changed brakes but the issues continue. The brakes do not always work effectively. They make a hissing sound. When my foot is on the brake, sometimes my van will still roll forward or backwards - this has happened often when leaving parking lots. I cannot stop quickly when animals or unexpected moments happen while driving on the highway. I have not yet had an accident due to this but this condition is very serious. There was an extended warranty issued due to this issue (brake booster) but it was issued prior to these issues occurring in my vehile and has expired. The issues are still very dangerous. I encourage this warranty coverage to be extended further.

While driving the steering will lock up and force a jerk when trying to get the steering wheel to move. At times there is a shudder while turning at slow speeds. Originally it was only present while turning as you are on an on ramp. It now appears also while driving straight.

The steering wheel locks up partially when you turn the wheel making it super dangerous when driving. It’s done it for as long as I have had the vehicle. There was never any warning messages prior to the problem. I have not had it inspected by anyone. Unknown if it’s been reproduced by dealer.

There is bubbling all along the hood of the van and now it is chipping. We inquired about this when we were getting oil changes at the dealer and no one said anything. I have a friend who said hers was recalled but I never received anything. We inquired a couple times and was brushed off. I now know that there was a recall and that this is a known defect. I only have 43k miles on this van it’s always I. A garage and I would like mine fixed since this is a well known defect.

We bought our van new in 2019. It has always made a grinding noise when making hard turns. The dealer said it was normal. Flash forward to a few weeks ago when we hit 105k miles. We started noticing more grinding noises and sensations when turning the wheel. Additionally, we noticed a tugging sensation on the wheel when going over 60 mph. It felt like the lane assist was turned on, but it wasn’t. We took our van to our trusted auto repair garage. They did a series of tests which included isolating the sound of clicking and grinding to the electronic steering gear. We were told that this part would cost $5400 to replace. We believe that this part is going bad too early in the life of our van and would like the NHTSA to investigate.

The contact also stated that the battery had previously been replaced. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that no cause of failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000.

Electrical power steering assistance system. The steering wheel starts becoming difficult to smoothly turn in corners over 30-miles per hour. Steering wheel required excessive force to overcome the resistance caused by the steering system (almost like having a non-power system steering system in turns). No issues on straight roadways. No warning lamps light. Getting worse (only used for local travel). It requires a physical effort to turn the steering to remain on track within a curve. It has yet to be confirmed by a dealer: Williamsburg Chrysler sold me this vehicle 3-months ago as perfect (but as-is). If YOU suggest a dealership trustworthy enough to evaluate the system I will go there, otherwise I know of no dealership in my area who knows (or cares) to troubleshoot issues that are not so obvious parts are not falling off. NOTE: I noticed a Safety Recall V53/NHTSA 19V-348 Power Steering Assist exists but not specified for my 2019 Pacifica. The description is exactly what I'm referring to.

The vehicle has no power going up hills or accelerating and just stops and doesn't move. To get the car to move again you have to turn the car off and back on. Even if you put the car in L it can still just go back in regular drive on its own an cut out with no acceleration.

While driving the car is unable to switch gears from D to L gear and has no power to accerlerate up hill.

This has been ever since I got my van. Sometime when I drive my lights come on and it goes into limp mode. Most of the time. When I start my van my lights will turn on. I have to turn my car off . Then start again to get my van riding correctly. The other day I was making a U-turn and my engine stalled and I was almost hit by a truck.
