Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain JTEKT power steering gear assembly service parts for 2007-2021 Tundra and 2008-2022 Sequoia, part numbers 44250-0C160, 44250-0C131, 44250-0C170, and 11250-0C121. The power steering gear assembly may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can result in an oil leak.

Risk. An oil leak may cause a sudden loss of power steering assist, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and replace the power steering gear assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on February 17, 2022. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is 21TH01.

Defect. Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2018-2021 Tundra vehicles. The headlight electrical circuits may power the high and low beams simultaneously, which could overheat the electrical connector.

Risk. An overheated electrical connector can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Dealers will modify the engine wire harness assembly and replace any damaged bulb, bulb connector, and/or headlight assembly as necessary, free of charge. Remedy. Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly with an improved one, free of charge. Owners of specific models were notified that remedy parts were available starting January 21, 2021. Owners of other models will be notified as remedy parts become available. Defect. Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Toyota Tundra vehicles equipped with LED headlight assemblies. Due to a wiring error, the front turn signals may not flash brightly enough. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Risk. If the turn signals or hazard lamps do not flash brightly enough, other drivers may fail to see that the turn signal or hazard lamp functions have been activated, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will modify the wire harness connected to the front turn signal bulbs free of charge. The recall began August 17, 2020. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-270-9371. Toyota's number for this recall is 20TB12/20TA12.

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) recalled certain 2018-2019 4Runner, Highlander, Camry, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma and Tundra, and Lexus RC 300, RC 350, GS 350, GX 460, IS 300, LC 500, LS 500, LX 570, RX 350L, and 2019 Toyota Avalon and Corolla, and certain Lexus NX 300, and ES 350 vehicles on January 13, 2020. On March 4, 2020, Toyota expanded the recall to include certain 2014-2015 Toyota 4Runner and Land Cruiser, 2018 Avalon, Corolla, 2014 FJ Cruiser, 2017 Sienna and Lexus 2018 ES 350, 2018-2019 GS 300, 2013-2014 GS350, 2014-2015 GX 460, IS 350 and LX 570, 2014 IS F, 2018-2019 IS 350, LC 500H and LS 500H, 2013-2015 LS 460, 2015 NX 200T and RC350, 2017 RC 200T and RX 350. Toyota also removed the 2018-2019 Toyota 4Runner and Land Cruiser and 2018-2019 Lexus GX 460 and LX 570 and 2019 NX300 from inclusion in this recall. On March 19, 2020, Toyota expanded the recall to include 2015 Lexus GS350 vehicles. The low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.

Defect. Gulf States Toyota (GST) is recalling certain 2019 C-HR, 4Runner, Avalon, Avalon Hybrid, Camry, Camry Hybrid, Highlander, Land Cruiser, Prius, RAV4, Sequoia, Tacoma, Sienna, Tundra and Yaris vehicles. The text on the load capacity label may become illegible. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Risk. If the driver cannot read the label, they may unknowingly overload the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. GST will notify owners, and dealers will provide corrected load carrying capacity modification labels, free of charge. The recall began May 24, 2019. Owners may contact GST customer service at 1-800-444-1074. GST's number for this recall is 19R1.

Defect. Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2019 Toyota Tundra standard and long bed trucks equipped with a spray-in bed liner. The load carrying capacity modification label may have been incorrectly calculated. If the label is followed, the vehicle may be overloaded. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Risk. An overloaded vehicle can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Toyota has notified owners, and provided corrected load carrying capacity labels, free of charge. The recall began on January 24, 2019. The recall number is J08. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371.

Defect. Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Toyota Tundra vehicles. The accessory all-weather floormats may have been counted twice when creating the load carrying capacity modification label, resulting in the capacity modification label incorrectly overstating the additional weight by 10 pounds. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Risk. Since the incorrect label is not within 1% of the additional weight, the vehicles are not compliant with the FMVSS.

Remedy. All vehicle owners will be sent a corrected label. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371. Toyota's number for this recall is J0Z.

Defect. Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Toyota Tundra and Sequoia vehicles and 2019 Toyota Avalon and Avalon Hybrid vehicles. The air bag electronic control unit (ECU) may erroneously detect a fault during the vehicle start-up self check. If this occurs, the ECU may not deploy the airbags as intended, in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection," and 214, "Side Impact Protection."

Risk. If the air bags do not deploy as intended, it can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Remedy. Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will update the software for the air bag ECU, free of charge. The recall began October 26, 2018. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371. Toyota's number for this recall is J0X. Note: 18V-122 was superseded by this recall. The software remedy also includes the updates to the software for 18V-122.

We had just exited the interstate when my Toyota Tundra stopped. We had it towed to the closest Toyota dealer. We had to have fuel pump replaced. They said the previous year Tundra was recalled for this issue, but ours was not. I just found out that some of the 2019 models had been recalled for this issue. They said my VIN was not recalled. That does not make sense. It was the same problem, same year, just at a different plant. Now we are having other fuel issues and the dealer says it all stems from the replacement of the pump, which we had to pay out of pocket. If we had not just exited the interstate it could have caused a major accident.

No police report was filed. The contact was able to drive to the nearby residence. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V688000(Exterior Lighting, Electrical System), which included the VIN. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and sent a field inspector, who inspected the vehicle and informed the contact that the inspection report would be completed on the same day; however, the manufacturer would follow up with the contact within 45-60 days. The contact followed up with the manufacturer three days later and was provided with the same information. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,500.

The vehicle was turned off and failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where the ECU was reset; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 104,000.

My toyota tundra is having issues with the fuel pump. It is saying I am using e85 fuel when that is not the case. As a result I am having issues with cold start. There are recalls however I am being told that my truck is listed among them despite having the same issue.

I bought this car in January 2019, and even though it had 210 miles, they sold it to me as new. I think they did something illegal because I have the purchase contract and they didn't put that information there. They put 10 miles and I didn't notice at the time. Also, I have the window sticker and it says the car comes standard with a remote key for entry, and the dealer removed it to make it without one. I'm ashamed I didn't report this sooner. It must be a form of consumer theft, something they only do to protect themselves.

Intermittent message displaying "Trailer Brakes Disconnected" while towing. Trailer lights continued to operate even while message was displayed. On average trailer connected and disconnected every 2-3 minutes

Keep getting the messages "Trailer brake error, if towing come to a stop with manual controls" And "Pre-collision system malfunction" The messages go away usually after restarting the vehicle but eventually comes back on

I had to have the steering rack assembly replaced in my vehicle due to a leak. This is one of the complaints and a recall but I never got a notification.

The built-in navigation system in my 2019 Toyota Tundra is dangerously outdated and cannot be updated over-the-air (OTA). Recently, it misrouted me into a remote, unfamiliar area with no cell service and incorrect road data. If I hadn’t had enough fuel, I could have been stranded in potentially life-threatening conditions. Toyota continues to install these systems with outdated maps and no OTA functionality, while presenting them as part of a reliable, intelligent driving experience. This is not a minor tech issue—it is a safety failure. Drivers are led to trust a system that cannot be trusted. I want to be clear: this experience has completely changed how I view Toyota as a brand. What seemed like a small, fixable flaw turned into a moment of genuine danger. That moment told me everything I needed to know about Toyota’s priorities—and Toyota is no longer in my future because of it. I urge NHTSA to investigate this as a potential recall-level issue. A navigation system that actively misleads the driver and offers no timely updates is not just broken—it’s hazardous.

The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the residence, where it was diagnosed by a mobile mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed that that the fuel pump was burned, causing the electrical connector part #9098010844 to burn and melt. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the electrical connector part had been discontinued. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under the factory warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.

Truck shut off while driving fuel pump connector in the tank was melted and could have started a fire. Was told my tundra doesn’t fall under the recall but is having the same problem

Having fuel pump issue. Car stalls very badly and pre collision light and engine lights start flashing. Severe jumping by car driving down the road. When accelerating the car has no acceleration and hesitates very badly.

When refueling this vehicle, gasoline will flow out of the filler tank onto the ground and will shoot out onto the person filling the truck up. Have had the charcoal canister replaced twice and this has not fixed the problem for any length of time. Dealer claims that vent tubes are getting clogged up but cannot explain how or why they are plugged up. Last repair lasted one week before fueling issues showed up again. The gas shooting out of the filler hose onto people standing nearby and onto the ground is an extreme fire and explosion issue and is an environmental issue. This problem seems to be a common issue based on internet search for Toyota Tundra refueling issues. There has been a service bulletin published by Toyota on this issue. I have been having this problem for over 2 years.

Factory installed OEM LED HEADLIGHTS: While driving in WET SNOW and SNOW conditions, headlights get covered in snow and visibility is greatly reduced to almost zero.

The rear passenger sustained bruising to the right arm and back pain but did not seek medical attention. The other vehicle occupants did not sustain injuries. A dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

275/55r20. only have around 10,000 miles. just rotate the tire at Walmart in Texas . on my way to Georgia my rear tire exploded without any warning at 75 mph . I almost lost control over the vechle .
