2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar and Land Rover Discovery, 2020-2023 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, 2019-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport, 2020-2024 Land Rover Range Rover, 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport, 2020-2024 Land Rover Defender, 2021-2024 Jaguar F-Pace, and 2021-2022 Jaguar E-Pace mild-hybrid electric vehicles (MHEVs.) The DC-DC converter can fail due to an internal fault in the boost control microchip. A failure of the DC-DC converter will result in a loss of 12-Volt system charging and can lead to complete loss of drive power and exterior lighting.

Risk. A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy. The remedy for this recall is currently under development. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed June 17, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available. Owners may contact Land Rover's customer service at 800-637-6837. Land Rover's numbers for this recall are D126 and H575.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2018-2022 Range Rover Sport vehicles equipped with a Surround Camera System. Water may enter into the rearview camera, which can cause the rearview camera image not to appear on the display or display a distorted image. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk. A rearview camera image that does not display can decrease the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect the rearview camera for damage. If no damage is found, the camera will be fitted with a new seal. If damage is found, the camera will be replaced and calibrated. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 18, 2024. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N901. These vehicles were previously recalled under 24V-023 for this same issue and will need to have the new remedy completed.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2019-2023 Range Rover Sport, 2020-2023 Range Rover, Defender, 2022-2023 Discovery, and 2023 Range Rover Velar vehicles. The engine cam carrier oil channel may be blocked, which can lead to an oil leak.

Risk. An oil leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and replace the engine cam carrier and related components as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 29, 2023. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N763.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC. (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Discovery, and Range Rover Velar vehicles. The Auto High Beam (AHB) system does not indicate through the instrument cluster when the high beams are illuminated automatically. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Risk. The driver may be unaware that the high beams are illuminated, reducing visibility for oncoming traffic, and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle software, free of charge. The recall began April 7, 2021. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N556.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2019 Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar and Discovery vehicles. The affected vehicles are equipped with V6 or V8 engines whose crankshaft pulley retaining bolt may fracture possibly resulting in engine failure.

Risk. Engine failure can increase the risk of crash.

Remedy. Land Rover has notified owners, and dealers will replace the crankshaft pulley center retaining bolt, free of charge. The recall began February 12, 2019. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N276.

The car experienced a complete electrical failure. Exactly like the recall D126 warns about. This engineering fix is taking too long. They should simply replace the DC/DC converter. I was stuck in the middle of the intersection and had to have my car towed, battery replaced. They are slow playing this problem to avoid having to pay for repairs.

It was a car ahead of me in traffic with an unusual amount of dark smoke coming out of the tailpipe.

I purchased a 2019 Range Rover Sport on July 24, 2026. The steering wheel had been off-center since purchase, so on August 31, 2026, I took the vehicle to an independent repair facility for an alignment. During inspection, the shop discovered that the rear subframe/crossmember was fractured at the left-rear suspension mounting area. The repair facility inspected underneath the vehicle and reported that they did not find corresponding impact damage or other evidence underneath that would indicate the fracture resulted from an accident, road impact, or other external hit. Based on their inspection, the technicians stated that they suspect the rear subframe failure may be related to a casting/manufacturing issue with the Land Rover aluminum subframe. This is a serious safety concern because the fracture is located at a rear suspension mounting point and has resulted in significant rear-wheel alignment abnormalities. I am reporting this to NHTSA so the failure can be documented and evaluated for similar incidents involving Range Rover Sport rear subframes.

The contact owns a 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine and low coolant warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was pulled over to the shoulder of the road. Upon further inspection, the contact became aware of a coolant leak under the vehicle. The coolant reservoir was refilled, and there was white smoke coming from under the hood. A local independent mechanic arrived on scene and scanned the vehicle with an OBD2 scanner, but a diagnostic fault code was not provided. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Upon further investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign: 23V221000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

I had my oil changed and mechanic noted both my fuel tank belly pans were heavily corroded, which was odd for a garaged car with lower miles. They recommended reaching out to my dealership since this is a pressing issue that likely should include a recall or warranty. When I researched the issue, it's a known Range Rover Sport design issue, a 2019 should not have this much corrosion and it sounds like condensation pools. Also, the mechanic noted that this likely has been happening for a while. The RI Range Rover dealership inspected my car in August 2025, and didn't flag any issues.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 MPH, there was a message of a "Module Failure" displayed, and the master warning light was illuminated before the vehicle stalled. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the residence and then to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the DC converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the check engine warning light illuminated approximately 20 minutes after restarting the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the battery control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact believed that the failure was associated with damages from the original failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.

Safety Complaint Regarding Coolant Leak – Same Defect as Recall N785 Vehicle: 2019 Range Rover Sport | VIN: [XXX] Description of Problem: My vehicle is experiencing a persistent and significant coolant loss. Upon inspection by my mechanic/dealer, the failure was diagnosed as a leaking coolant pipe/elbow connected to the turbocharger system. This is the exact component and failure mode described in Land Rover Safety Recall N785, which addresses a coolant elbow rupture that can leak fluid onto hot engine components and cause an engine fire. Despite having the identical part failure on my vehicle, my VIN is not listed under the current recall scope. Safety Concern: I am extremely concerned about the fire risk and the potential for sudden engine overheating while driving at highway speeds. I have already had to repeatedly refill the coolant just to operate the vehicle safely. I believe the recall population should be expanded to include my vehicle, as the defect clearly exists outside the current VIN range. Actions Taken: I contacted a Land Rover dealer, but they refused to cover the repair because my VIN is not on the active recall list. Safety Complaint Regarding Engine Oil Leak – Same Defect as Recall N763 (23V044000) Vehicle: 2019 Range Rover Sport | VIN: [XXX] Description of Problem: My vehicle is experiencing an oil leak from the engine area. Upon inspection by my mechanic/dealer, the failure was diagnosed as a blocked or improperly machined oil channel in the engine cam carrier, which is causing oil to leak externally. Intermittent problem.The car while going forward with no warning slows down to around 20 to 30mph and cannot go faster when depressing the gas pedal. After pulling over to the side of the road, shutting down, opening the car door and restarting the car runs normally.

Vehicle: 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport HSE While driving approximately 65-70 mph, a red battery/charging warning appeared instructing me to pull over immediately. Within approximately 3-5 minutes, the vehicle rapidly lost electrical power and became completely disabled while driving. EVERYTHING in my car started shutting down; no air, no lights, no steering. Steering and vehicle functions became inoperable and the vehicle required towing. The repair facility diagnosed a charging-system malfunction. Diagnostic notes stated the alternator was only producing approximately 11.2 volts and was not charging the battery. The repair facility also documented that the alternator was saturated in engine oil due to leaking valve covers and oil filter housing components. Repairs included replacement of the alternator, valve covers, oil filter housing, gaskets, coolant-related components, and associated labor under Land Rover repair procedures. I am submitting this complaint because the sudden loss of electrical power while driving at highway speed created a serious safety concern. The only thing that saved me for an accident is the high speed I was traveling coasted my car to the exit as an 18-wheeler truck was on the side and behind me.

The contact owns a 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact was able to pull over to the median, where an independent mechanic attempted to restart the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to VEX European, where an unknown diagnostic result was retrieved, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact later became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V248000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) online and associated the failure with the recall; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.

Vehicle experienced sudden and complete shutdown while driving immediately after crossing railroad tracks. Dashboard warning displayed “battery failure.” Vehicle would not restart and would not shift into neutral, leaving it immobilized in traffic. Police department called and traffic was managed by 2 police officers. Vehicle was stuck on roadway and required manual override procedure (unknown to owner) to shift into neutral before being pushed off roadway. Vehicle was towed 250 miles. Dealership has indicated hybrid battery/system failure and ordered replacement battery. Concern: Sudden total loss of propulsion and inability to shift into neutral creates serious roadway safety hazard. If this had occurred seconds earlier, vehicle could have been immobilized directly on railroad tracks. Request investigation into hybrid battery/system failures causing sudden total shutdown without safe-mode capability.

The infotainment system system that controls the AC RADIO DEFROST HEATED SEATS, SETTINGS, DRIVEABILITY SETTINGS does not turn on. This is my wifes car and she has to drive sometimes with no defrost while its raining and not AC/Heat control while the weather is cold or super hot in LA. The problem has been diagnosed by the dealer and there has been a recall issued for this specific recall, just not for my vin number. So Land Rover Corporate refuses to fix it or provide any financial help. The car has 45,000miles and we are the original owner. I believe our vin should also be included in the recall of the Land over Sport Infotainment system. I believe our model was not included because it was a diesel and not many range rover sport diesels are in the States,.

Constant loss of coolant, overheating. Coored. Crossover pipes replaces. Pressure tests to coolant system come back as normal, but vehicle requires frequent topping up and dashboard warning lights. Car overheated on highway requiring immediate stopping and tow. After removing starter, pooling found while under pressure on shield under turbo manifold. Exact location of leak is tbd. These repairs should be covered by a recall for how frequently they occur. The MHEV turbo is generating too much heat for all of the plastic parts.

- I purchased my car in October 2022 and I have had a Coolant level low notification on my dashboard in December 2022. I then filled the coolant myself. - The warning notification showed up again after about 3 weeks in January 2023. I then took it to Land Rover Frisco Service and Parts Center on 1/25/2023 to get it get it inspected. They said they found 'Turbo Coolant Inlet and Outlet Pipes Leaking, Replace Turbo Coolant INLET Pipe and Replace Turbo Outlet Coolant Pipe' (exact words from the service note). - However, the SAME issue came back again after about 6 months, when I call them back for repair - they said I will have to pay it out of my pocket since my warranty has run out. - I asked them how much the cost would be, and they said to diagnose they would charge me $260 and then whatever amount the repair service would cost. As I could not afford it, I started re-filling the coolant whenever the car is giving me the 'coolant low' warning sign. And I have been doing that for the past good year or so. - I now some vehicles with the same year and model have been re-called for the specific safety issue that I am experiencing, However my vehicle is not part of the re-call. - I called them Land Rover this morning to request if they can fix my car for free, and they said since this car is not part of the re-called cars, I will have to pay for the fix. - I strongly believe this car should be part of the re-call as well.

On Monday, October 28, 2024, while driving on [XXX] [XXX] from McKinney, TX, to Irving, TX, a red oil can light appeared on my vehicle's dashboard. Shortly after, the car struggled to accelerate. I pulled over, and white smoke began coming through the dashboard vents. Noticing a strong smell, my daughter and I exited the vehicle. We observed fluid leaking on the ground and smoke intensifying. Engine makes noise even after taking to service 3 times with no solution Key remote operation stops working because of bad electronics

The engine's cooling pipes melt leading to the cooling system failing. This then overheats the engine which leads to dangerous driving conditions. This has been a known issue in other Range Rover VINs and also affects this one.

WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED. THE VEHICLE CONSISTENTLY DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE KEY FOB. THE VEHICLE DOORS WILL NOT UNLOCK WHEN TOUCHING THE DOOR HANDLES, THE CAR DOES NOT START WHEN TRYING TO USE PUSH TO START. GIVES AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT THE KEY IS NOT RECOGNIZED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE TO HAVE A VEHICLE THAT CANNOT BE STARTED THEREBY STRANDING MYSELF AND MY FAMILY DURING THE COLD WINTER MONTHS.
