2012 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2010-2013 Range Rover Sport and 2010-2016 LR4 vehicles equipped with 3.0L V6 or 5.0L V8 engines. The fuel outlet flange mounted on the fuel tank may crack, possibly resulting in a fuel leak.

Risk. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the fuel outlet flange, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters were mailed October 7, 2021. Owner notification letters were mailed May 11, 2022. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N623.

Vehicle experienced a complete electrical failure while driving. The vehicle is a 2012 Range Rover Sport. At approximately 25 mph, the engine shut off, all exterior and interior lights went out, and the steering wheel locked in the straight‑ahead position. I temporarily lost control of the vehicle and was only able to stop safely because I was traveling at low speed. This incident created an immediate crash risk. An independent mechanic inspected the vehicle but could not identify the cause, noting vehicle in Fail Safe - scan showed multiple lost communication codes. See the full report attached for more details. This appears to be a serious safety defect consistent with known electrical shutdown and steering lock issues reported in similar Land Rover models. I am filing this report to document the safety hazard and request investigation.

My 2012 Range Rover HSE Sport, after repeated calls and asking to speak to the appropriate parties about my car, finally got a call and said that the the safety recall was completed to [XXX] and I could pick up my car. He/She said that I would need an engine and I just needed to come in a pick up the keys and car.car was driveable. After the members refused for 30 days not to repair the safety recall, and upon my insistence, "they" said it was complete. The defect was with the manufacturer call to fix my car. The dealership members were very rude and noncompliant. I asked that they would reach out to the manufacturer and my request to the manufacturer was that honor and fix the engine at in good faith and their expense to the dealership.their expense. I have reached out to the manufacturer aa well Jaguar Land Rover North America LLC who has a foreign business in [XXX] and [XXX] and not being transparent with contacts and demands. I have rented a car for almost 3 months and certainly since the Dealership refused for 30 days not to repair my car because of the safety, I feel that those days of extended car rental and the fact the dealership refuse to fix my car, that the dealership should be responsible for the car rental as well. The safety recall is free of charge.I have looked and searched and asked and find that the manufacturer for Range Rover is originated in [XXX] and doing business in [XXX] and [XXX] . Where each State protects consumer with the Lemon Law to some degree

The Jaguar range Rover dealership refused to fix the safety recall on my 2012 Range Rover. My car had been at the dealership JLR Midlothian VA since March 20,2026. They stated that there was no loaner car until April 13, 2026, possibly. Brian was the senior advisor sharing the information. I rented a car from Hertz rental in Fredericksburg VA for the initial date appt of March 13, 2026. I had a family emergency and informed Brian. On April 20, 2026 I visited the dealership to learn the status of fixing the recall issue of of fuel flange to be told by Jeff that Mike the Service Manager refused to correct and replace the safety recall part. BArian who initially did intake on March 13th was not on active duty recall and the case was sent to another advisor Josh, Josh was not in the day of April 20,2026. Josh telephoned me the next day stating the same that my car was not repaired not would it be according to service Manager Mike. They have had my car for 30 days and never told me ethat information before. I have been charged over $800 in rental fees that I had asked the manufacturer/and or dealership since they could not give me a car while my car is in their possession. Please help me I still have this rental car as of April 24, 2026 and on for transportation.. My car was drive able. It was running hot so I had the car towed to the dealership.

UNKNOWN. THE ENGINE OVERHEATED ENGULF IN HEAVY SMOKE.DISABLED.

The fuel tank holder is rusted out and is a known issue on this model. Land Rover used materials that are prone to severe corrosion and I feel like my fuel tank will fall off at any moment and is unsafe to drive.

After the recall repair, the vehicle unexpectedly ran out of fuel even though the instrument panel indicated approximately 90 miles to empty. The contact added fuel and resumed driving; however, the vehicle ran out of fuel while the display showed approximately 50 miles to empty. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer again. Upon inspection, the local dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the engine needed to be replaced due to a coolant line leak. The mechanic reported that there were no diagnostic trouble codes retrieved, and that the vehicle failed to remain running. The manufacturer was contacted, and informed that a specialist would inspect the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 143,764.

Vehicle: 2012 Range Rover Sport Supercharged (VIN: [XXX] ) Recall Campaign: N623 / NHTSA 21V635 Incident Description: In October 2025 I had a recall repair done at Land Rover Annapolis. I picked up my vehicle from Land Rover Annapolis after the N623 Fuel Outlet Flange Recall was performed. Immediately after service, while driving in a live lane of traffic, the vehicle unexpectedly stalled, resulting in a complete loss of motive power. The dashboard fuel gauge falsely indicated 55 miles of remaining range, but the vehicle had actually run out of fuel. This indicates that the fuel sending unit/float assembly was improperly reinstalled or damaged during the recall service, creating a secondary safety defect. I figured it would calibrate and fix itself. When the dealer reached out after my service appointment I made them aware of the issue. No one contacted me. I contacted Land Rover corporate when it continued to happen and was told to bring it back to the certified repair location. The dealership took 16 mins to look at my vehicle and deem the engine bad. Give a ballpark quote of 20000 to 30000 dollars to replace the engine. Despite this life-safety event, the dealership refused to pull stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and is attempting to deflect liability by blaming a pre-existing minor coolant leak that never triggered an overheat warning. I received Land Rover's notice Oct. 7, 2021 regarding the gasoline fuel tank flange assembly cracking. They stated "Once we have adequate supply of the necessary parts, we will notify you via a second letter requesting that you contact your preferred authorized Land Rover retailer....etc.. under Program Code 'N623' " I have still been waiting for this to be resolved. I emailed them again on 12/9/2025 after I got the alert from NHTSA and have not heard back.

The shop I took my vehicle too says the vehicle is leaking gas. They looked up the vin for recalls showed me the recall said I'd have to take it to a dealership. So I scheduled an appointment for Lakeland Jaguar and Land rover and they told me they couldn't help me and don't wanna do the work if JLR isn't gonna reimburse them for recall. I can smell gas and it definitely isn't safe to drive. The dealership has written a service sheet but never touched the vehicle. Said they cant see the recall. Systems down. Wondering what do I do?

Had a recall. I wasn't available on the date or a week or so after the appointment date. An ex of mine that had no authority to take my Range Rover into the dealership for the recall to get fixed, used my driver's license to get a rental Land Rover to use while my Range Rover was supposedly being fixed for the leaking fuel tank recall. So, Land Rover didn't care that it wasn't me getting to drive a $70,000 Land Rover while mine was getting fixed for recall. I figure out what happened & where my vehicle was & got the rental back to me in order to go get my vehicle back. I got to take it home,2 days later transmission messed up wouldn't shift out of park,started over heating,& I had to pull it with a rope from the store back home to park it. When I looked under the vehicle cause I was trying to figure out why it was majorly overheating, I then realized the gas was just pouring out near the transmission pan, which is where the fuel line runs from the top of the gas tank. My recall was for the fuel tank leaking originally. Now, Land Rover refuses to fix this major safety hazard/defect, stating that the gas pouring out doesn't stem from the recall. Which is complete bullshit! Nothing was wrong with my vehicle when I bought it only a few months before I received the notice about the recall. Now, I can't drive it & it's sitting at the dealership that did the recall & didn't fix it. They towed it 2 days ago to their shop & called me the next day saying that the fuel pouring out & ove

The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH, the "Transmission Fault" warning light illuminated, and the engine temperature gauge indicated that the engine was HOT. The contact pulled into a filling station and checked the coolant reservoir. The contact stated that the reservoir was slightly low, and she added a pint of water. The contact stated that the fluid started leaking underneath the vehicle near the front of the transmission. The contact later became aware that it was gasoline that was leaking. The contact became aware of the failure while refueling the vehicle. The contact called the manufacturer, who requested that the dealer pick up the vehicle. The dealer towed the vehicle to the service department. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 155,000.

The car leaked all antifreeze. This is a 2012 Range Rover sport that has the same problem as the recall N623. “ The recall number for the 2012 Land Rover Range Rover is N623. The recall was for certain 2010–2013 Range Rover Sport and 2010–2016 LR4 vehicles with 3.0L V6 or 5.0L V8 engines”. The dealerships refused to take in consideration my vehicle or reimburse for the cost to fix.

Leaking antifreeze. The car has the same issues for Recall number po84.

In addition, the contact noticed the fuel odor on the interior of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a fractured gasoline fuel tank flange assembly and that the gasoline fuel tank flange assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V635000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The contact stated that due to health issues, the vehicle was parked for a while; however, recently the vehicle was taken for a smog test. The vehicle failed the smog test due to fuel odor and the check engine light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, however the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to another dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed with a fractured fuel tank flange assembly and that the fuel tank flange assembly needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the recall repair for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V635000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) was not completed when performed on 03/2022 by the previous dealer. The vehicle was scheduled to be repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 39,554.

Fuel leaking an different problems happen do to fuel default.

The motor has timing chain issues they all do I was quoted 8000 dollars to fix it 90k Miles on car.

Car started smoking from under front hood while driving, while pulling to a stop, smoke started flooded cabin with my son and grandchildren in the car. They all got out safely but then the front engine and car exploded in flames.

1.) SAFETY RECELL N623: GASOLINE FUEL TANK FLANGE ASSEMBLY CRACKING- I HAVE CONTACTED THE LAND ROVER DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND NO ONE WILL HELP ME SCHEDULE THE APPOINTMENT TO SERVICE MY VEHICLE. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS ARE RUDE AND VERY UNHELPFUL. 2.) MY VEHICLE WAS ALSO INCLUDED IN A CLASS LAWSUIT REGARDING THE TIMING CHAINS AND TENSIONERS- THE LAW SUIT WAS APPROVED IN JUNE AND I SUBMITTED ALL OF MY DOCUMENTATION. NO ONE FROM THE CLAIMS ADMINISTRATION WILL CONTACT ME BACK.
