Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles. The front suspension upper knuckle joint may crack, which can result in suspension arm detachment.

Risk. Suspension arm detachment can cause a loss of vehicle handling and control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect the front suspension knuckles and install a retaining bracket or replace the knuckle, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 11, 2026. This recall expands and replaces previous NHTSA recall number 24V840.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles. The driver's seat belt emergency locking retractor may not lock as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies" and 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Risk. During hard braking before a crash, the seat belt emergency locking retractor may not lock as intended, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and replace the seat belt assembly, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 29, 2022. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N678. This recall replaces NHTSA recall number 19V-350. Vehicles previously inspected under recall 19V-350 that did not receive a replacement seat belt assembly will need to have this new recall remedy performed.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2017 Land Rover Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Discovery vehicles. The fuel gauge on these vehicles may indicate that the fuel level is low and illuminate the warning lamp, when the fuel tank actually has more fuel. The engine management software may also cut off the engine when the vehicle has traveled approximately 17 more miles.

Risk. If the engine were to shut off, it can cause loss of power brake assistance. An engine stall would cause a loss of drive power. Both scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will install a software update to correct the fuel level reading, free of charge. The recall began on June 22, 2018. Owners may Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N206.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2017 Land Rover Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles. The instrument cluster (IC) may intermittently go blank.

Risk. A blank instrument cluster will not show important information like vehicle speed, increasing the risk of a crash.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport vehicles and 2016-2017 Land Rover Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles. The affected vehicles have seatbelt pretensioners that may not function properly in the event of a crash.

Risk. If the front seat seatbelt pretensioners do not function properly, the seat occupants may not be adequately restrained in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Structural Support/Shielding on Fuel Tank rusted away due to a well-documented galvanic corrosion issue for 2017 Range Rover Sport vehicles. The joining of uncoated disparate metal surfaces leads to a hyper-corrosion event of the shield, which can cause fuel tank to drop onto roadway during normal driving, potentially resulting in a catastrophic accident. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) North America continues to deny CRC goodwill claims for repair, replacement and/or reimbursement unless NHTSA is contacted first. Requesting NHTSA open an investigation into this safety issue, and further requesting JLR provide immediate TSB and extended warranty instructions to JLR Dealers on replacement of corroded fuel tank shields.

'Hood Open' Warning on Dash: message on the instrument cluster, even when the hood is securely closed. Alarm Randomly Triggering: A faulty hood latch switch can also trick the vehicle's security system into thinking the hood is being opened, causing the alarm to go off unexpectedly, often in the middle of the night. Hood Wobbles or Flutters at Speed: If one or both latches are not fully engaged, airflow at highway speeds can cause the hood to lift and wobble. Hood Won't Latch on One or Both Sides:You may find the hood bounces back up after you try to close it. Went to Land Rover dealership in Norwood, Massachusetts. They’re saying service action is VIN SPECIFIC MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED. Called manufacturer was told to reach out to NHTSA to update with my vehicle VIN.

I am reporting a vehicle safety concern regarding a 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport purchased from Carvana on February 27, 2026. The vehicle was delivered with 19-inch wheels. I subsequently obtained an official parts quote from Hennessy Jaguar Land Rover Buckhead — Land Rover's authorized Atlanta dealership — confirming the correct OEM wheel for this vehicle is a 21-inch alloy (part number LR072160) with 275/45 R21 tires. The vehicle was sold to me with a two-inch deviation from OEM wheel specification without disclosure. The safety consequences are documented. One tire failed within 48 hours of my taking possession. The remaining tires displayed visible sidewall ring damage indicating prior repeated flat incidents — conditions that should have been caught in any legitimate pre-sale inspection. Non-OEM wheel specifications on a performance variant vehicle alter load ratings, handling characteristics, and brake caliper clearance tolerances in ways not apparent to a consumer. I am requesting NHTSA document this safety concern and evaluate whether Carvana's inspection practices related to wheel and tire specifications represent a systemic pattern affecting other consumers nationally.

There as been a recall on this Range Rover for 1 year with no remedy. Range Rover customer service offers no answers or help. Dealership inspects vehicles at no cost. How ever with out the recall being fixed this vehicle is useless and unsafe. How long is it resonance to wait for a remedy. Over a year is far too long something needs to be done.

I am filing a safety complaint regarding a defective diesel emissions system and persistent warning condition in my 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Diesel vehicle that presents a serious safety hazard to myself and others. The vehicle was purchased from Ewing Buick GMC in Plano, Texas, [XXX] and was advertised as being in good condition and ready for sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle appeared to have undergone preparation and inspection-related services, which gave the impression that it was safe and roadworthy. Dealer informed me of no inspection being performed. Shortly after purchase, the vehicle began displaying persistent emissions-related warnings (DEF system / engine warning). I initially had the vehicle inspected, and serviced for repairs by Royse City Auto Care, where diagnostic information indicated emissions-related faults. Due to the seriousness of the issue, the vehicle was then taken to an authorized Land Rover service center for further diagnosis. Land Rover technicians indicated that potential causes may include a knock sensor or related module failure; however, they stated that these repairs are not guaranteed to resolve the issue. The warning condition remains active and unresolved. The vehicle now presents a critical safety concern. The emissions system warning includes a mileage countdown that will eventually prevent the vehicle from being driven once it reaches zero. My Range Rover diesel is continuing to have premature Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) clogging, causing dashboard warnings, "limp mode," reduced power, and engine issues. This causes the car to immediatly without warning reduce power and you have a certain amount of miles before the car shuts down. Range Rover knows of this incident, and there is a law suit concerning this, and unfortunately this problem did not occur to my car until after the lawsuit deadline went into effect. This has happened several times with the only solution to order an 11,000 new system which has the same defect as the original one in the car.

There is an open recall on my knuckle 2017 range rover, I've been waiting for repairs, and I'm being told that they haven't been made yet. I first of of this from Carfax and not the manufacturer’s, they have never sent me anything. What's the next steps, it's been months and I'm not comfortable driving

Hi there, I purchased this car used with approximately 78,000 miles on it and this incident occurred at 94,000 miles. The car is equipped with a system call ACE (Active Cornering Enhancement) system. The system sends hydraulic fluids to each cornering of the car to help stabilize it around corners. Land Rover installed steel hard lines to deliver the fluids to each corner. They also tucked the lines to the side of the car and added a cover to protect the lines. However, that only caused these lines to fail, because moisture containing salt in the winters can travel to these lines and causes them to rust and no matter how much under carriage wash is performed, no clean water can get to them to wash away the salt. My lines failed on me and that cost me $4,400 in repairs at Lake Bluff Land Rover in the state of Illinois. They informed me there's more lines that need to be replaced which will cost an additional $5,500 in repair. When I complained to Land Rover that they should have installed stainless steel lines instead of steel to prevent this from happening, they assured me if this will become a common issue, they would perform a recall and issue a refund. When I spoke to the technicians at the Land Rover dealership, they told me they are getting a lot of cars with the same issue. A safety recall was issued in September 2025 for my vehicle. I contacted my local dealership (Pasadena Land Rover / Range Rover) and was informed that recall parts were not available. In the first week of December, the front right suspension began making a clunking noise, consistent with the recall defect. When I contacted the dealership, I was told that I would be required to pay out of pocket for diagnostic work, even though the vehicle has an open safety recall, and that reimbursement is not guaranteed due to parts unavailability. As a result, the vehicle cannot be repaired under the recall, and I am being asked to assume financial responsibility for diagnosing a known safety defect while continuing to operate an unrepaired vehicle.

Front Suspension Knuckle Crack was knocking and ready to break on my 2017 Range Rover. I had to bring it into an independent service center due to the inability of the dealer (JLR Newport Beach, CA) to get me in (I was told 200 cars were in front of me and it would be an undetermined period of time before they could get to me). The suspension and steering were affected and I had to have it repaired immediately by Custom European in Huntington Beach, Ca. He used original parts and it cost me $1,500.00 (799.57 parts, 660.00 labor, tax 60.42). The vehicle has not been inspected yet. When I received the SAFETY RECALL letter from JLR in Newport, I tried to get in for inspection but to no avail. Same situation, 100's of cars in front of me. When I called Range Rover of North America, I was told your computer system has been down for over two months and that I should call back every week to see if it's working (by Jared). Jared told me because I had the safety recall corrected already, this was the only way to get reimbursed but NOTHING could be done while the computer system was down. The SAFETY RECALL letter specifically says reimbursement is available but Jared said nothing is available without the computer system, which as I mentioned earlier has been down for two months. Telling me to call back weekly to see if it's up again is not the resolution I was seeking. JLR cannot inspect because they have no place to log the information since your "computer system is down." My steering column/knuckle is cracked and my suspension is snapped causing issues for turning the wheel

Driving on the 405 freeway with daughter and grandson the vehicle started slowing down with a low key battery message, it Engine broke down. No smoke or overheating

I am filing this complaint to report neglect, unprofessional conduct, and refusal to take responsibility by Jaguar Land Rover Carlsbad during a manufacturer recall service. In December 2024, I took my Range Rover Sport to Land Rover Carlsbad for an N808 powertrain recall. I paid $299 for a diagnostic inspection, and the only issue reported was a diesel exhaust sensor. There was no mention of any issues with the oil level sensor, confirming it was fully functional at the time of drop-off. I authorized & paid for the repair of the diesel exhaust sensor repair to be completed during the powertrain repair. Following the recall service, the oil level sensor failed, resulting in a $4,500 repair. Extensive research and technician insight confirm that this recall can damage the oil sensor wiring if handled improperly. I believe the failure was caused during the recall service, especially considering: *No issue was present or diagnosed before the recall work. *Damage occurred immediately after. *Land Rover Carlsbad refuses to accept responsibility AFTER realizing cost Compounding the issue, the vehicle was returned without the windshield wiper housing installed, which I discovered while driving on the freeway at 65 mph with my children in the vehicle, during rainfall. Put our lives at risk. Also the design flaw: location of Oil Level Sensor (refer to NHTSA SSM73239). Despite multiple attempts to resolve this, General Manager Anthony Benfatti refused to take responsibility and told me,

Both left and right aluminum uprights or commonly referred to as “knuckles” are cracked. This can cause an immediate loss of control at speed and also take out the cars around you. This is a very serious problem. Apparently, other models years have previously been recalled. But the 2017 model year has not. Clearly the same issue and the cracks are in the same place. There are no warning signs of such cracking in the upright. But when it fails, it will render the driver useless until inertia takes over!

I was informed by Hennessey Land Rover that there is a "Y" Alen pipe in the coolant system that will most likely fail around 50,000 to 60,000 miles. The "Y" piece is two pieces of pipe sandwiched together verses one solid piece. They are telling me that once the pipe fails all of the coolant will escape the engine block and will most likely seize the engine. They are not covering the cost to do the repair, around $4500.00, and I find this unacceptable because they build the coolant system with a piece they know is faulty.

My driver's seat belt is not work properly. The seat belt will not click in. It instantly pops out. As such, I am unable to buckle up.

2017 Range Rover sport The rear middle seat belt retractable does not lock and retract. When driving ,middle passenger seat belt is only lock due to seat belt issues. I got estimate from rover range to fix issue of $600.00 will supply repair when dealer finish with issues.

Unsure what first came on but the check engine light came on there would be no issues when driving nor lack of power, then filled up my tank and first try the engine would stall second try engine would take a longer time to roll over and revs would slightly fluctuate almost sounding like it would stall out again but didn’t after and when ever starting up the vehicle nothing else happened after with that issue only when fueling up. but brought my vehicle to a Land Rover dealerships, they next tried diagnosing my vehicle found a small P0442 small evap leak didn’t find anything then did a smoke test and still didn’t find anything wanted to do a much bigger pricey diagnostic, I declined had the check engine light taking off but gas cap warning would appear later down the line then the check engine light would come on again. I changed the gas cap had past codes erased and things lasted a little longer then before but still came back on.

When ever playing music through loud or soft volumes I can hear a static sound coming from all speakers. The static like noise can be heard more your phone is connected through usb through apple/android car play on both usb connector ports. when using just bluetooth its not as noticeable but can sometimes still hear it. When using just the radio am/fm setting its not as present but you will get a little static noise. Note my RRS has the 825 watt meridian sound system so when adjusting the bass, treble or sub the static can still be present even at different volumes. Note the cables to the usb have been changed and are new when trying to see if its the phone cable or not but still the noise is present. I am just wondering if it may entail to a software update that is needed on the vehicle.

P275/45 R21 Bought new in 2019 with set a brand new tires. 3 of 4 have suffered tread separation in under 19k miles (65k tire). The separation has occurred between the belt and inner tire rubber. It bulges the tire tread, causing vibration and a bald spot on the tread. Found numerous other online reports of these tires have tread separation issues.

The Passenger seat air bag sensor is defected and needs replacement for the passenger side air bag to function. The passenger air bag has been inoperable for many months. The estimated cost to repair is $1,800.00.

There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the gear shifter needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 76,000.

The back rear door keeps causing the alarm to malfunction and go off. Also, as I was driving on the main road the back door came open on a passenger seated in the back. This was a major scare & could’ve been very deadly if my passenger didn’t have their seat belt on.

The computer software system was updated, and the fuel sensors were replaced. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while driving. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.

While I am in intersections driving, the car completely shuts off and I have to start the car back up for it to actually drive. It completely turns off while you’re driving. I have had several electrical issues with the car that have also been repaired. I’ve brought the car into the dealer service center over seven times and they have not been able to reproduce the issue of shutting off. I have installed a dash cam to record when it happens randomly. I reported to Land Rover corporate and they have not done anything over 8 months with this issue. I have two daughters and I’m concerned about getting into an accident with this car shutting off randomly. This has been occurring since I purchased the car in October 2020. Please help.

Fuel gauge indicated no fuel even though tank was just filled. Vehicle went into limp mode then would only start for a minute. Exact same symptoms as current recall for same model year but ours is outside of VIN range for that recall. Vehicle only has 35k miles and had fuel pump replaced which has seemed to fix the problem although fuel gauge won’t read full ever.
