2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles. The front suspension upper knuckle joint may crack, which can result in suspension arm detachment.

Risk. Suspension arm detachment can cause a loss of vehicle handling and control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect the front suspension knuckles and install a retaining bracket or replace the knuckle, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 11, 2026. Owners may contact Land Rover's customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's numbers for this recall are D019, N759, D041, and D027. This recall expands and replaces previous NHTSA recall number 24V840.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Range Rover and 2014-2016 Range Rover Sport vehicles. These vehicles were previously recalled and repaired under Recall 19V-392, however the repair may not have been completed properly. Due to a problem with the Keyless Vehicle Latching System (KV Latch), the doors may appear to be closed but may be unlatched.

Risk. Unlatched doors may open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect for any issues with the KV system, disabling the KV mechanisms if necessary, and update the KV Latch software, free of charge. The recall began November 30, 2020. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Land Rover's number for this recall is N476.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Ranger Rover and 2014-2016 Range Rover Sport vehicles. Due to a problem with the Keyless Vehicle Latching System (KV Latch), the doors may appear to be closed but may be unlatched.

Risk. The unlatched door may open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect for any issues with the KV system, disabling the KV mechanisms if necessary, and update the KV Latch software, free of charge. The recall began July 18, 2019. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N335. Note: Vehicles in this recall were previously recalled under recall number 15V-385 and need to be remedied again.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles manufactured December 16, 2013, to April 15, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the owner's handbook information may incorrectly describe the functionality of the Air Bag Status Indicator Lamp. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Risk. An occupant that does not correctly understand the air bag functionality, may be at an increased risk of injury in a crash.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners and will send out an owner's handbook supplement to all affected owners, free of charge. The recall began on October 8, 2015. Owners may call Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's recall number is P071.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2013-2016 Range Rover vehicles manufactured July 26, 2012, to March 9, 2015, and 2014-2016 Range Rover Sport vehicles manufactured February 18, 2013, to March 5, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the doors may unlatch unexpectedly when closed.

Risk. If a vehicle door unlatches, the distraction may increase the risk of a crash and/or a vehicle occupant may fall out of the vehicle if they are not wearing a seatbelt, increasing their risk of injury.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the keyless entry software, free of charge. The recall began August 6, 2015. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is P068.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles manufactured August 23, 2012, to February 5, 2015, and 2014-2015 Range Rover Sport vehicles manufactured June 16, 2013, to February 5, 2015. In the affected vehicles, a light weight adult front seat passenger may be improperly classified by the occupant classification system (OCS) and, as a result, the front seat passenger air bag may be disabled.

Risk. If the front passenger air bag is disabled during a vehicle crash, there is an increased risk of injury.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the OCS software, free of charge. The recall began April 9, 2015. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is P059.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles manufactured August 16, 2012, to January 8, 2014, and 2014-2015 Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles manufactured May 7, 2013, to February 12, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the brake vacuum hose may have been incorrectly routed allowing a hole to be worn ito it.

Risk. If a hole is worn into the brake vacuum hose, a complete loss of braking assistance could occur, lengthening the distance required to stop the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the brake vacuum hose and correctly route it, as necessary, free of charge. Any brake vacuum hose that is damaged will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began March 2, 2015. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is P052.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2014 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport and 2013-2014 LR4 vehicles manufactured September 16, 2013, to June 30, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) may fail to learn the locations of the individual sensors while the vehicle is being driven. As a result, the low tire pressure warning light will illuminate, despite the the tire pressures being within specification. Should one of the tires subsequently lose air pressure, the driver would not be notified of the change in air pressure.

Risk. If the TPMS light illuminates because the sensors cannot be located, it could mask an actual low tire pressure condition, possibly resulting in tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the Body Control Module (BCM) software, free of charge. The recall began on November 6, 2014. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837, Option 9. Land Rover's number for this recall is P050.

The contact owns a 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the message "Suspension Fault" was displayed. The vehicle started swaying, and hydraulic fluid was leaking onto the ground. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, and it was determined that the hydraulic system had failed due to corroded hydraulic lines caused by the colder climates. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

My engine recently overheated due to cracked front coolant crossover pipe. The dealership indicated that this is a common problem with Range Rover vehicles.

The contact owns a 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact received notification NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V514000 (Steering) in 2025. The contact had been calling the local dealer for an update on the parts but was advised that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was informed about the lack of parts. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Our mechanic noted that there is rust/rot damage to the metal gas tank shield. It’s unknown how long this has existed.

On Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, while my wife and daughter were driving in downtown [XXX] , the front passenger door spontaneously opened at [XXX] while the vehicle was in motion. This occurred despite the door being properly closed and latched. Fortunately, my daughter was wearing her seatbelt and was not injured, but this incident created a terrifying and life-threatening situation. Due to the dealerships being closed, I was forced to secure the door with ties to safely transport my family back to [XXX] . On April 7th, 2026, I dropped the car off at the dealer for repair of the safety recall. Most concerning is that my vehicle was in the care of the Richfield Land Rover dealership in March 19th, 2025 for several days for an engine oil leak repair totaling $6,718. At no point during this multi-day service was I notified of the open safety recall, nor was the remedy performed. When I confronted the service department today (April 7, 2026), I was told their "computer must have been down." Fuel tank shield is rusting and falling apart becoming a safety hazard

I purchased a 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport (VIN: [XXX] ) from AutoNation USA Wesley Chapel on May 17, 2025. Shortly after purchase, the driver-side door latch recall issue manifested when the door unexpectedly opened while the vehicle was traveling at highway speed. The incident was documented at the time it occurred. The vehicle was later serviced by AutoNation on August 26, 2025, where they stated the latch had been addressed. However, the NHTSA recall database still shows Manufacturer Recall N975 as incomplete for this VIN. This raises concern that the recall repair may not have been properly performed or reported, or that the vehicle was sold with an open safety recall that should have been identified and remedied prior to sale. Given that the driver-side door latch failure occurred while the vehicle was in motion shortly after purchasing the vehicle from AutoNation USA Wesley Chapel, which represented that a comprehensive multi-point inspection had been completed prior to sale, I am submitting this report as a safety concern regarding recall compliance, inspection practices, and repair documentation associated with this vehicle. The contact owns a 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact was informed by an NHTSA agent that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V514000 (Steering). The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Fuel tank cradle is rusted out and needs to be replaced. Vehicle only has 87k miles on it.

The contact owns a 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that while the vehicle was at the dealer for maintenance, the contact requested the independent mechanic to run a diagnostic test on the vehicle. The contact was informed that the steering knuckle was fractured. While an independent mechanic was attempting to remove the steering knuckle, the axle froze and seized in the hub. The contact was informed that the steering knuckle with the axle shaft assembly needed to be replaced. The contact was advised not to drive the vehicle due to the failure. The independent mechanic contacted the dealer to order the parts, and the dealer confirmed that the axle would freeze and seize inside the hub. The axle and steering knuckle were replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V514000 (STEERING); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

Won't start & battery drain

The air bag light has come on and will not go out. There was a recall 15V093000 Occupant Classification Module Update. Land Rover Baton Rouge states that they can't diagnose the issue because the vehicle is a 2014. I am afraid that I and/or any passengers riding in the vehicle will get hurt or at worst killed from the malfunction.

I was having suspension problems when I purchased the vehicle. Took into land Rover proformed a suspension evaluation they made recommendations on what should be fixed I proformed the repairs but when I accelerated a hard knocking on the left side of the vehicle still happened I found a video on YouTube about the staring knuckles failing on my 2014 and decided to check to see if mine had the problem I cleaned both staring knuckles and found the beginning of fracture cracks on both. I called land Rover they said there were no recalls for my vehicle and I called corporate they said I need to bring it in for an inspection and there were no recalls for my vehicle. I will bring it in for inspection. But wanted to make NHTsa aware it's happening to my vehicle as well.

Land Rover has been made aware through several complaints that there is a widespread issue with their vehicles that requires recall. Thousands of customers have reported issues in their vehicles with cylinder 4 cracked pistons resulting in engine failure. Land Rover refuses to address the issue in their vehicles causing this malfunction and costly vehicle repair. Land Rover needs to issue a recall to address and rectify this issue in their vehicles as this issue results in the vehicle losing speed and coming to a complete halt with no warning from the vehicle. This could result in death of multiple people and cause crashes. It is highly dangerous and needs to be addressed by Land Rover with urgency.

Component/System Failure: The issue pertains to a timing chain failure malfunction, which has led to the disablement of the vehicle while driving. Yes, the affected component is available for inspection upon request. Based on additional information received this timing chain failure issue was raised and settled in a Class action lawsuit that Jaguar agreed to pay for Lessees of these models that all had a timing chain failure issue but the issues were not resolved with this vehicle. Safety Concerns: The failure occurred while driving on Highway [XXX], and the potential consequences could have been catastrophic. The vehicle's abrupt disablement in the middle of rush hour traffic in Washington D.C. posed an imminent risk of a near-fatal accident. A highway patrol officer had to intervene to redirect traffic and prevent other vehicles from crashing into the lane. This incident not only endangered the driver but also jeopardized the safety of countless other drivers on the road. It's crucial to highlight that such a failure could have been avoided with proper maintenance and early detection of the timing chain issue. The malfunction of the timing chain indeed poses risks, not only to your safety but potentially to others on the road as well. When crucial components fail unexpectedly, it can lead to hazardous situations such as sudden loss of power or control, increasing the likelihood of accidents. You can lock the doors inside the vehicle or with the remote but the doors do not lock.

The headlight and tail light assemblies get water and moisture inside the lenses whenever it rains. This has cause one of my headlights to short out. As a result, the DRL/Turn signal on the left side headlight has stopped working. As for the rear tail light, whenever there is water inside, the tail light will flicker on/off while driving. There is always condensation inside all of the lights long after the rain has stopped and water has dried. Also in addition to the lights, the rear view camera system does not function properly when it rains or after a car wash. It will intermittently display a distorted image and sometimes no image at all, just a screen of green lines.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the fuel tank cradle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer for part replacement; however, the vehicle was not yet repaired. The contact owns a 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the passenger’s side air bag warning light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on two occasions and the dealer diagnosed that the air bag sensor had failed. The dealer lubricated electrical wires located under the front passenger’s side seat; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated while attempting to unlock the door with the key fob, the function inadvertently unlocked all the doors except the driver's side door. The contact was able to unlock the door manually. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and diagnosed without a failure; however, the battery was replaced. The contact stated that the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the key fob needed to be recalibrated. The approximate failure mileage was 168,000.
