General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2009 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado 1500, Silverado 2500, Silverado 3500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Sierra 2500, Sierra 3500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia or "Zone B." Additionally, GM is recalling certain 2007-2008 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, and Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in the states of Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming or "Zone C." These vehicles are equipped with non-desiccated passenger frontal inflators containing phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate (PSAN) propellant. These inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.

Risk. An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflator with an alternate one, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed on February 23, 2021. Second notification letters will be mailed once the remedy is available. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 20, 2021. Remedy. DEALERS WILL PERMANENTLY DISABLE AND REMOVE THE HEATED WASHER FLUID MODULE. I have a 2007 GMC Yukon. This car has been converted from the inside into a small limousine. Bench to bench with drinks bar in the middle. In June 2021 at approximately 168,000 miles the engine suffered catastrophic engine failure while driving. I was forced to replace the engine at my cost as it was out of the original warranty. I was told the cause of the engine failure was due to low oil pressure over an extended prior of time from worn engine bearings which resulted in a dropped value in cylinder #7 and #8.

Backup camera inop. I took it to dealer for repair and they said they could not repair due to age and parts availability.

The dashboard from the air back recall broke and there’s is no recall for it witch there should be because when that air bag goes off it could send parts of the brittle dash into the passenger

Thr lifters shut down the engine and caused it to completely turn off the vehicle while in motion. It is available for inspection. Has not been confirmed by dealer. The code read cylinder 1 misfire but the lifters were not functional. The seizure of the engine and full stop of the vehicle while in motion nearly caused a 3 car pile up and a close collision into a fire hydrant as the steering locked and emergency brakes were not functional. There was no other warning lamps or messages offered prior to the shut down.

I have a 2007 GMC yukon denali xl that have the stabilitrac, check suspension, traction control lights and messages come on the car looses power and being in traffic I was almost t-boned this is a problem that has cost me alot of time and money please help please it is going to cause a wreck this is not a Isolated incident a recall needs to happen

We have received a URGENT AND IMPORTANT recall related to our Airbag being a deadly threat when activated. This was in February 2021 and still there is no remedy to get rid of the deadly threat !!!

WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE STABILITRAK OFF LIGHT FLASHED ON THE DASHBOARD, INCLUDING THE TRACTION CONTROL OFF. THIS HAS SHUT DOWN MY CAR ON THE HIGHWAY SEVERAL TIMES SINCE 2016. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT WOULD RESET ITSELF AND THE CODES WOULD GO AWAY TEMPORARILY. THE DEALERSHIP RECOMMENDED TO CHANGE THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE AND CABLES. I HAD TO GET TOWED OFF THE HIGHWAY AS THIS HAPPENS SO RANDOMLY. THE REPAIR SHOP SAYS THAT IT IS A MYSTERY TO THEM AS THEY HAVE CALLED THEIR GMC SPECIALTY TECHNICIANS FOR ADVICE. HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR OVER 2 YEARS TO HAVE MY "KILLER" TAKATA AIRBAG REPLACED....

AIRBAGS NEED TO BE UPDATED DUE TO THE TAKATA FLAWS

WAS DRIVING AND STABILIZATION GOT TURNED TURNED OFF. THE ENGINE POWER GOT REDUCED. DECREASING THE CAR'S POWER DRAMATICALLY THEN EVENTUALLY NOT DRIVABLE. THIS IS VERY VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO MAKE A SMOOTH LANE CHANGE TO THE SIDE TO STOP THE CAR. BUT IF I COULDN'T AND THERE WAS A LOT OF CARS, THIS WOULD OF CAUSED A MASSIVE ACCIDENT. I FEEL FROM MY RESEARCH, GMC SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE AND FIX THIS! VERY ANGRY BECAUSE IT HAD HAPPENED TWICE NOW!!!

TAKATA RECALL, POTENTIAL SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH MAY OCCUR WITH USE OF THIS VEHICLE. FOR TWO YEARS I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO HAVE THE AIR BAGS REPLACED AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. LAST ATTEMPT WAS 8-29-19.

BUNNIN CHEVROLET (301 S HOPE AVE, SANTA BARBARA, CA 93105, 805-898-2400) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

DASH HAS 7 CRACKS AND 2 ARE FRAGMENTED ..GOT TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE IF AIRBAG IS EVER DEPLOYED...THANKS

TAKATA RECALL HAS NOT OCCURRED FOR MY 2007 VEHICLE. IT IS NOW 2019. I AM ORIGINAL OWNER. WHEN I HAVE TAKEN TO DEALER THEY STATE THERE IS NO RECALL. MY HUSBAND HAS ALREADY RECEIVED NEW AIRBAG IN 2007 CHEVY PICKUP.

TAKATA INFLATORS OUR LOCAL DEALER IN VACAVILLE CA SAID GM STILL HAS NOT SENT THE PARTS FOR THE AIRBAG FIX FOR MY VEHICLE. WHEN CAN THEY EXPECT DELIVERY FROM GM. WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS YET AND WANT IT FIXED BEFORE WE DO.

PERSISTENT "TICKING" LIFTER UPON START OF A COLD ENGINE. SLIGHT LOSS OF POWER UNTIL THE ENGINE FINALLY WARMS AND THE TICKING SUBSIDES. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS IN BOTH WARM AND COLD WEATHER BUT IS WORSE DURING COLD WEATHER. WHEN I ASKED THE LOCAL GM DEALER ABOUT A SOLUTION, THEY DESCRIBED A POTENTIAL REPAIR; A BAFFLE MAY BE INSTALLED IN THE OIL PAN TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM OF OIL DRAINING OUT OF THE TOP SIDE OF THE MOTOR. THIS INDICATES TO ME THAT GM HAS RECOGNIZED A DESIGN FLAW IN THIS MOTOR (THE 5.3L WITH ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT AND "FLEXFUEL" OPTION) THOUGH THE DID NOT OFFER TO PERFORM THE REPAIR FOR NO COST.
