Defect. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2026 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, and Tahoe, and GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles with four-wheel (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD), and certain 2015-2020 Suburban, Escalade, Escalade ESV, Yukon, Yukon XL, and Tahoe vehicles. A component missing from the drivetrain transfer case may cause the front and/or rear wheels to lock up without warning to the driver.

Risk. Front or rear wheel lockup increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the remedy is completed. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the transfer case assembly, free of charge. General Motors has decided that certain 2027 Chevrolet Bolt EV, 2025-2026 Cadillac OPTIQ, Chevrolet Colorado, Equinox EV, GMC Canyon, 2026 Buick Enclave, Envision, Cadillac CT5, Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade IQ, Escalade IQL, LYRIQ, VISTIQ, Chevrolet Blazer EV, Corvette Convertible, Corvette Coupe, Corvette Convertible E-Ray, Equinox, Silverado 1500, 2500, 3500, Silverado EV, Suburban 1500, Tahoe, Traverse, GMC Acadia, Hummer EV Pickup, Hummer EV SUV, Sierra 1500, 2500, 3500, Sierra EV, Terrain, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. The radio may not have been set to the correct status to download the electronic owner's manual during production. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, “Child Restraint Anchorage Systems.”

Risk. Without an owner's manual to consult, owners may not know how to safely use and operate the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will provide the owner’s manual, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 30, 2025. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. At time of incident this truck had about 5500 miles on it. Prior to this incident, I received no warnings, messages, and experienced no adverse symptoms. I was towing an 18ft Fleetwood Pioneer travel trailer. While traveling at about 70 mph, and climbing a mild grade, the transmission shifted down, and shortly after the engine started loosing power. RPMs remained constant for about 5-10 seconds, but speed was dropping. Then RPMs fluctuated for about another 5-10 seconds. Then no response to accelerator after that. Upon pulling over, LOW OIL PRESSURE message appeared, then ATTEMPT ENGINE RESTART. Upon attempting restart, could hear some pretty weird noises but engine did not restart, and I aborted start attempt. Dealership has ordered a replacement motor under warranty. I was stranded on a narrow shoulder of the freeway for about 1.5 hours awaiting a tow truck. Vehicles sped by at 80 mph which compromised safety, especially when tow truck arrived and he worked on hooking up.

The 2026 Chevy Silverado 1500 Lt. Can jump modes on its own. When in 4 wheel drive rear wheels lock up. This has been causing poor gas mileage. The lane assist does not hold, it travels well outside of lanes. Cannot use.

I took my truck and atvs from Ohio to Michigan for vacation. We took my truck out. We swerved to miss a deer. Pulled over to check everything out and the truck shut down and would not start. Called roadside assistance, they towed vehicle to a Chevy dealer. Dealer calls me later that afternoon telling me the engine locked up and needed replaced. The truck had 5,800 miles when this happened. We were also traveling at low speeds. If this had happened on the freeway it may have caused a serious accident and may have resulted in injury or loss of life. Since they replaced the failed engine with the same engine I am concerned it will do this again and have no confidence in this vehicle.

Driving on [XXX] in Maryland, engine just stopped. Pulled to the shoulder. Engine refused to start. Was towing a 7300lb Airstream Flying Cloud trailer. If unable to pull on to shoulder, would have been stopped i the slow lane of the road. Weiner Chevrolet in Cumberland, MD. Has confirmed that the engine seized up. They are replacing the engine. I bought the truck at 6,400 miles. I was on my way to the dealership because of a clanking sound I heard the day I brought it home. It was at 7,007 miles when it went down. I had it for a total of 5 days. I was coming from a stop when it suddenly lurched and I heard rattling and clanging noises. It had been making noises around 6500 miles that were most likely drivetrain related. Luckily, I was on a side road when the engine locked up. No warning lights. Had the truck towed to the dealership. They said the engine needs to be replaced. Still no delivery date given.

The vehicle's power steering went out mid drive on the road after being driven about 2 miles. I was unable to turn the wheel. I attempted to restart the car at that point is when the engine would not start. The truck did not move in the middle of traffic. This is caused by some electrical problem. The dealer does not know what the issue is and they could not duplicate the issue. It is the second time it has happened to me.

Due to a manufacturing defect outlined in Gm internal bulletin #PIT6452E caused an electrical motor to stall, overheat, melting the plastic HVAC box and actuator doors and fill the cabin with a burning plastic smell. 50°+ heat above cabin thermostat setting was documented blowing extreme heat and burning plastic smell into the cabin. The electrical short, burning smell and melted components make the vehicle unsafe to drive. The heat issue has been reproduced by the technician. Documentation of this issue is currently not available in writing. Verbally I am told all this but Both Kendall Chevrolet of Marysville and GM customer care supervisors refuse to put in writing any mention of melting, burning, electrical short, safety hazards or that the vehicle is not safe to drive, even after multiple requests for written documentation. The only inspection I am aware of is from Kendall Chevrolet service department. No dashboard lights or warnings illuminated.

The contact stated that while driving in the middle lane, the vehicle failed to keep sufficient distance from other vehicles. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions; however, the failure was not duplicated or confirmed by the dealer or an engineer during a test drive. The contact was informed that the feature was associated with passing lanes on the highway and was operating as designed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by email, and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 6,000.

My 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Trail Boss, equipped with the 5.3L V8 engine and 10-speed automatic transmission, intermittently experiences a complete engine stall while the vehicle is still moving. This condition typically occurs following an extended period of driving, during braking and deceleration at approximately 1 to 5 mph. The vehicle locks the emergency brake and the engine stops. This happened in stop/go traffic as well as in my neighborhood. As the vehicle approaches a complete stop, the engine begins to struggle, with noticeable hesitation and a reduction in engine RPM, before shutting off completely. When the engine stalls, the transmission automatically shifts into Neutral, requiring me to restart the engine before I can resume driving. This is not normal automatic engine start/stop operation. The issue occurs even when the automatic start/stop feature has been manually disabled. The engine shuts down unexpectedly without driver input or an intentional shutdown command. The intermittent nature of this malfunction makes it difficult to predict when the vehicle will stall. The unexpected loss of engine power while the vehicle is moving creates a significant safety concern, particularly when braking, turning, entering intersections, or maneuvering in traffic. The vehicle could become temporarily disabled in an active roadway, increasing the risk of a collision. On October 17, 2026, approximately two minutes after driving smoke started to fill the cabin. It appeared to be coming from behind the rear seat area. I pulled over and could not find the source of the smoke so I drove back home and shut the truck off in my driveway. Almost immediately after shutting the truck off the rear glass on either side of the middle sliding window shattered, but stayed in place. The middle sliding window did not shatter. I then called Chevrolet road side service and the vehicle was towed to a dealership.

Vehicle comes to a stop sign on a low pitch hill. Driver releases the break and presses the gas portal to drive forward and vehicle begins rolling backwards. Driver looks down at the dash and sees a “press start button” message. Driver pressed start button and hears the engine come to life. Driver releases the break and presses the gas pedal to accelerate. Vehicle rolls backwards again. Another message to press start. Driver presses start again. Vehicle is now in park and with the parking break engaged. Driver releases parking break, shifts to drive and is now able to leave the intersection. Issue causes risk of collision due to unexpected rollback. Service appointment schedule for 10/15/26. No warnings presented beyond the start message errors listed above. Newly purchased vehicle: 2026 model year. Appx mileage at time of incident: 122 miles.

On [XXX], at approximately [XXX], I was driving my 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST (5.3L V8, 4WD), leased new on [XXX], with about 122 miles on the odometer. I came to a complete stop at a stop sign on an uphill grade at [XXX]. The Auto Stop/Start feature shut the engine off while I held the brake, as designed. When I released the brake to proceed, the engine did not restart, and the truck rolled backward down the grade. The instrument cluster displayed "Press start button." I pressed the start button, the engine started, and I released the brake again. The truck again rolled backward, and the cluster again displayed "Press start button." At this point, the vehicle was in park and with the parking break engaged. I pressed start a second time. I released the parking brake, shifted into Drive, and was finally able to proceed. In total there were 2 failed restarts after an Auto Stop event, 2 uncommanded rollbacks on an incline, and 1 automatic parking brake engagement. No collision occurred. However, the truck rolled backward toward another vehicle behind it with no engine power, and I had to restart it twice while stopped at an intersection. This is a serious safety hazard in traffic, especially on hills. GM has published Preliminary Information bulletin PIT5689N, "No Restart after an Auto Stop Event / No Crank," covering 2020-2026 Silverado 1500 trucks. While driving, the vehicle shifted itself into Park without any driver input and the engine shut off. This has occurred on three occasions, first on May 24, 2026 at approximately 1,000 miles — three days after the vehicle was purchased new. It happened again at approximately 2,300 miles, and a third time at approximately 10,350 miles. Each occurrence happened at less than 10 mph — once while accelerating and twice while decelerating. No crash, fire, or injuries resulted. The vehicle was presented to an authorized Chevrolet dealer for this same defect on two occasions. On the first visit the dealer found no trouble code, could not duplicate the condition, and performed no repair. On the second visit, beginning September 22, 2026, no repair was performed and the vehicle remained out of service in the dealer's custody — 16 working days on that visit alone, 20 cumulative working days across both visits, as of October 13, 2026. A loaner vehicle was provided during both visits. The manufacturer has an open customer assistance case for this defect. The vehicle is not being driven in this condition; if it must be moved, it is moved by tow only. A vehicle that immobilizes itself in motion is a safety hazard to its occupants and to surrounding traffic.

Engine blown at 3,000 miles while going 73 MPH

Vehicle has died multiple times, seems to always be 10mph or less so far, stopping or just taking off, the time taking off it felt like I hit something and it died, I had not hit anything, the other times were slowing down and it just dies and seems to shift possibly and dies I have to put in park and start, not a good scenario on a hill with cars behind you. Took to the car dealership in Conway (Superior Chevrolet). They had it for a few minutes came out and told me they knew of an issue as they had 3 others in for same thing but don’t know what’s causing it. Nothing documented, sent me on my way and didn’t seem to care much. I asked if they found out anything if they would call he stated I needed to check back in with them for updates.

The first time I was driving in traffic and the truck shut completely off with no warning the display on the dash indicated,please put in park and restart, Took a straight to the dealership the code said it was a malfunction with a fuel pump. I had it for two weeks. September 27 it happened again. Took it back to the dealership and they’ve had it ever since.

After driving for ~45 minutes, while sitting in traffic moving along slowly, my vehicle went into neutral, engine shut off and dash displayed message to press start/stop button to restart engine.

Severe cracks down the sidewall of the tire & into the tread which is obviously a manufacturing flaw. After seeing a recent like issue of this same issue w/ the same brand tire I feel a replacement of all tires on the vehicle should be replaced before another issue occurs to another & causes a major accident. Tire size 275/60R20 took to the Chevrolet dealer and they quickly said it was not a recall item. I have since replaced the tire at my cost & have kept the original tire for inspection. Was told it was a good thing I replaced the tire as it would have failed soon.

I am reporting a safety concern involving my 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country equipped with the 6.2L V8 engine. I purchased the vehicle new on August 3, 2026. The engine has unexpectedly shut off on two separate occasions while the vehicle was still moving at low speed. The first incident occurred within approximately the first week of ownership, when the truck had less than approximately 1,000 miles on it. I was slowly driving through the parking lot at McB’s when the engine unexpectedly shut off while the vehicle was still moving. The instrument panel displayed “Press Brake to Start.” The engine did not automatically restart, and I had to stop the vehicle and manually restart the engine. The second incident occurred on September 18, 2026, while I was slowly driving through a parking garage. Again, the vehicle was still moving when the engine unexpectedly shut off. The instrument panel displayed the same “Press Brake to Start” message. The engine did not automatically restart, and I again had to manually restart the vehicle. I have a video recording of this incident. This vehicle is equipped with automatic engine Stop/Start. During normal Stop/Start operation, “AUTO STOP” is indicated on the instrument panel when the system shuts the engine off. During neither of these two incidents did the instrument panel indicate “AUTO STOP.” Instead, the engine unexpectedly shut off while the vehicle was moving, displayed “Press Brake to Start,” and required a manual restart. The 2026 Chevy 1500 Silverado 6.2L engine had a slight knocking sound from the date I purchased it brand new in march 2026. I was driving home on a evening in July 2026 and the truck began to squeak, knock very loudly and shake violently. The truck then locked up and completely shut off while I was driving 45 mph down the highway. The vehicle had approximately 3,000 miles on it when the incident occurred. The truck’s violent shaking and sudden loss of power while traveling 45 mph created an immediate risk in which I did not have control of the vehicle and could have caused me to be unable to safely maneuver out of traffic. Thank God there was light traffic at the time and also a wide empty parking lot straight ahead of me when the truck shut down. The incident also placed other drivers in danger of colliding with my disabled vehicle or taking sudden evasive action that could cause an accident. I had it towed directly to the dealership service department and according to their report, "found catastrophic internal engine failure."

Components: rear vision camera display, front camera module/lane keep assist, and the center infotainment/navigation screen. The vehicle is currently with the dealership. Failures: The rear camera image intermittently distorts into a severe fisheye view, so I cannot judge distance or what is behind the truck when backing. Lane keep assist intermittently will not activate. The center screen freezes, becomes unresponsive, makes phantom inputs, overheats, goes black, and reboots on its own, cutting off navigation while driving. Safety risk: A distorted backup camera creates a risk of striking pedestrians, children, or objects when reversing a full-size pickup. Losing lane keep assist removes a driver-assistance safety function. The screen shutting off during active navigation has caused me to lose directions while driving in unfamiliar areas, which is distracting and has led me to get lost. Dealer confirmation: Reported to [XXX] at Milton Chevrolet ([XXX]) the day after delivery at 30 miles. Repair Order #XXX(XXX) confirmed the lane assist failure and found DTCs U3000 and U0131 stored in the Front Camera Module. The dealer cleared the codes and moved a toll transponder; no part was replaced. The touchscreen issue was not duplicated during a 10-minute test. The contact stated that the failure recurred on several occasions while driving at slower speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. Multiple instances of engine shutting off while driving and switches to "Park". Most recently the truck suddenly lost power, shut off, stopped immediately, went into Park, jerked extremely hard, and displayed the message “Service Transmission.”

Driving on the interstate and the truck had a horrible vibration. It smoothed out and it did it again. I got off at the next exit and the engine was making a horrible knocking noise. I had it towed to my Chevy dealer for inspection. They drained the oil and found excessive metal in the oil. They decided that the engine needs to be replaced. The truck only has 4524 miles on it and it was purchased in June of 2026.

As a result of the High Beam Visual Field is blind when turning to right or left, I could not see in the complete darkess 1 early morning destination OHSU ER near XXX, I experienced an minor accident with passenger. The dealer was contacted by phone and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.

The contact owns a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving at an undisclosed speed, several brake warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact attempted to depress the brake pedal, and the brakes failed to respond as needed. The contact pumped the brake pedal continuously to bring the vehicle to a stop. The vehicle was then driven in LIMP Mode. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and was diagnosed with a brake control module failure, which was caused by an incorrect software version that had crashed the module. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 4,300.

Engine seized and stalled while vehicle was in motion. This resulted in failure of power steering assist and power braking assist. This made vehicle extremely difficult to maneuver safely out of the flow of traffic. The engine seizure was confirmed by a Chevrolet dealership. And the engine was replaced by the Chevrolet dealership. There were no warning lamps. The engine made some unusual noises moments before failure.

Picked up truck at the dealership with a friend and stopped at Restaurant across from the dealership. I backed into a parking spot and shifted into Park and pressed Button to shutdown Engine. No audible warnings were given to indicate that I did something improperly. We exited the vehicle and the only sound heard after I closed the door was the audible alarm that reminded me that the spare key was inside the vehicle. We walked approximately 30 to 40 feet and heard a crack from a limb that the truck struck as it rolled backwards down a small hill and crashed into a building. No one was hurt. Upon checking the vehicle, we noticed that the shifter indicated that it was in Reverse after impact. Onstar was notified because of the crash and we relayed to it that no one was hurt. Truck taken to Body Shop.

While driving in a parking lot. Barely applying throttle to move straight forward not turning or driving on a rough road the truck completely shut off all screens went blank and I wasn't able to accelerate. I was able to restart the truck, shift into drive and continue but took a few seconds to realize the issue and properly restart the engine. Thankfully this occurred while in a parking lot without anyone behind me but this is a real concern for me now driving on streets/highways with other vehicles around. This truck was purchased brand new has never been off road and has just over 3,100 miles. There were no warning lights before or after this incident.

No warning lamps or chimes. Truck shut down as I was pulling into my garage. Shifted to neutral on its own and a message on the dash said to put it in park and restart the engine. This event happened on 9/15/26. The truck has 1400 miles on the odometer.

2026 chevy Silverado 1500 Lt Trail boss only has 2300 miles on it about 2 weeks ago pulling in to the driveway the truck shifted into neutral and died and prompted me to restart. started find a few days later it did the same things. The truck has shifted into neutral and died pulling up to a light at slow speeds 4 or 5 times. It has done this twice at highway speeds on overpass incline. On 9/13 the truck shifted in to park while drive 5mph in at parking lot and shifted in to park on its and died will driving.

While driving at about 20mph we hear a grinding noise and the truck throws itself into nuetral and then shut off. The truck seems to be on like when started with the key fob, on but not fully started. A warning message comes on the dash stating "conditions not safe to drive". The truck would not go back into gear, even after pressing the start button and truck regaining power. Pressed on the brakes to stop, put in park and then back into drive. Message warning went off and truck drove as normal again. This has happened twice since purchasing the vehicle in May 2026.

While driving this 2026 Chevy Silverado, the engine has shut off while driving it. While driving down the road the engine will shut off and a message on the display will show "Return to Neutral" and "Press Start". This is very dangerous to have a vehicle shut off while driving down the road as it affect my family and other drivers on the road. The vehicle need to be completely stopped to shift to Park, in order to start the vehicle again. There are no signs or warnings that this is going to happen, it just happens randomly. The dealer can not reproduce the problem but did confirm to me this has happened to several other same make/model vehicle that have been reported at the same dealership. On another unrelated safety issue with this same vehicle, the gas tank over flows when filling it up. Dealer was able to reproduce this problem, but doesn't know how to fix it yet. Is waiting to GM to approve what should be replaced, under warranty. This is dangerous for me and other people at gas stations. I can't fill my vehicle up all the way with fuel, otherwise it runs down the side of the vehicle and on to the ground where it is very flammable.

THIS NEW TRUCK HAS BEEN IN 2 DIFFERENT DEALERS FOR THE SAME TRANSMISSION ISSUE, 2 TIMES WITH CHAMPION CHEVY AND 1 TIME WITH MICHAEL HOLH CHEVY/GMC DEALER, FIRST 2 TIMES NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE AT CHAMPION CHEVY, 3RD TIME I WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE NOT ALWAYS DOWN SHIFTING INTO FIRST GEAR WHEN STOPPED OR ON A HILL, THERE SHOP FORMAN STATED THATS NOT RIGHT, BUT YET THEY DID NOTHING TO TRY AND RESOLVE THIS ISSUE, I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH CHEVY CORPERATE OFFICES AND AGAIN NOTHING WAS DONE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. The contact owns a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle burst into flames. When the Police and emergency services arrived, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. The contact stated that an oil change was performed prior to the failure. The fire department extinguished the fire. A Police report was filed. The contact associated the failure with GM Service Update: N262568830 (Potential Oil Filter Leak). The customer service assistance at the manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.

The engine cut itself off and shifted itself into neutral as I was slowing down and turning left into the gas station. It is available for inspection. My safety was at risk because had this happened on a legal road way, it could’ve caused someone to rear end me or t-bone me because I would’ve unexpectedly stopped, or the power steering may not have worked and I could’ve run into something. It has not been reproduced by any mechanic, only me. It has happened to me only twice within a 400 mile span. It has been inspected by a GM dealership twice now and is currently still at the dealership. There were no warnings of any kind before, during, or after the occurrence.

The General Grabber HTS 255/70 R17 off a 2026 Chevy 1500 truck from factory with only 17k miles, has had multiple leaks from what appear to be the rubber itself cracking and no objects seem to be making the punctures. (this tire itself the main reason for this report has been repaired 4 times and now has its 5th leak) but at least 1 or more repairs have been made for 3 of the 4 tires as well as another chevy truck same year, model and tire from factory but only 1 of their tires has failed as of today. One of the tire punctures has leaked 5 psi within 1 mile distance. For obvious reasons of a tire going flat and so fast for no reason this can be extremely dangerous for the occupants of the vehicle as well as others that are on the same roadway,( locations to pull over, weather conditions IE icy roads and pos tire ruptures) The conditions have only been observed in the late spring, summer, and fall, they have not yet been seen in the winter, but is expected to fail more often as the cold with cause the tire to become more brittle and prone to more cracking. The Chevy truck TPMS does provided a fast and accurate tire pressure give the driver enough time to make decision on the best location to stop

Twice under 3200 miles while pulling into driveway on an incline the vehicle shifted to neutral then turned off and began to roll backwards down my driveway. No codes or CEL came on the display read press start to restart engine so I did that and it started and ran normally until it happened again while pulling into driveway. I took vehicle to my local chevy dealer they pulled history codes and saw 8 communication error codes with various areas of vehicle, checked battery and charging, test drove it and said they found nothing wrong with vehicle. This is a safety issue and should be investigated further, very disappointing on a brand new vehicle only 3 months old.

My 2026 Chevrolet Silverado experienced catastrophic engine failure at approximately 12,000 miles. The vehicle was out of service from June 19, 2026 through August 27, 2026 while the engine was replaced. This is our family vehicle and is regularly used to transport my two young children. I remain concerned about the safety and adequacy of the remedy following such an early catastrophic engine failure. I requested that GM repurchase the vehicle or provide trade assistance so that I could move my family into another vehicle; both requests were denied. I am submitting this complaint so NHTSA has a record of the failure and my concerns regarding the remedy provided.

Because the vehicle shuts off completely while still in motion, I am forced to bring the truck to a dead stop, shift the transmission out of Drive and into Park, and completely cycle the ignition system to restart the engine.There is a distinct, audible mechanical ticking sound coming from the engine compartment during operation. Crucially, the vehicle has never illuminated a Check Engine Light, displayed a dashboard warning message, or given any advance electronic indication prior to or during these sudden stalling events.This vehicle's build window falls directly into the scope of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) active Engineering Analysis (EA26005) investigating catastrophic valvetrain and engine failures on GM 6.2L L87 engines. 2026 6.2L engine loud and oil filter is filled with bearing glitter. I know you have recently opened an investigation into 2025 and 2026 GM 6.2L engines also failing. The salesman lied and told me the issues were all fixed. How is a company allowed to lie and put my family at risk with a faulty engine. I am driving and engine that is shedding bearing material for 3 oil changes. This will fail and leave me stranded or create an accident. 1st oil change at 1500, second at 6000, 3rd at 10,500 and oil is full of bearing material. Pics attached

I was driving down a main road going 40-45 mph. I made a left turn into a retail shopping center, went straight for about 100 feet and turned right into the main shopping center street and the truck immediately just shut off. I don’t remember seeing the car go into park, but I do remember it going into more of a neutral state with the engine completely off and the brakes were not locked since the car rolled back a little bit at first. My wife and I were both in awe as to what just happened. Thankfully, we were not on the main road and were able to turn the car back on and it seemed to be fine after that and shifted into drive with no issues. It hasn’t happened since. The car probably had approximately 2000 miles on it at the time.

In Late December 2025, with only 764 miles on my 2026 Chev truck, we were driving south on [XXX] down the interstate in Utah. The engine lost power, service enging light soon came on, and the truck came to a stop in about a mile. There were 5 of us in the truck. Late night, in a strange town. We had to take a UBER to the motel. The truck was towed to Murdock Chevrolet in Woods Cross, Ut. They gave us a lowner car, and they took the engine out, and sent it to GM. GM took the engine apart, and said verably that a crankshaft bearing went bad, and they sent a new one. Within 30 days, I had my truck back. I purchased the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado with a 6.2L motor "new" from the dealer with 5700 miles on XXX. Roughly a month and 2500 miles later, my family and I were in the vehicle, 750 miles from home, returning from a vacation to [XXX] from the [XXX]/[XXX] area. It was around 8:30 in the morning and we had been on the road since the 6 o'clock hour. We were towing our our 20' fishing boat at the time. We were in the left most lane, passing a semi tractor trailer. I signaled and moved back in the 3rd lane after the pass. We were now the vehicle in front of the semi. At this moment, the engine locked up. The torque converter which had been locked at highway speed came unlocked. The transmission started aggressively downshifting looking for torque, RPMs racing upwards of 6k. We were now on an uphill, towing, with a seized engine in front of a semi. In the next lane right was a family in a newer lincoln navigator going freeway speeds. Aside from the transmission, the engine was silent, the accelerator did nothing. A message pops on the screen. "Shift into Neutral" is says... a fraction of a second later "Restart Engine" or alike. The start button was unresponsive. We're losing speed, the sem i is right on the back of the boat now, the [XXX] navigator was even in the lane with the semi. This is where split second decision making mattered. Radio screen display, overheating, bubbling at the bottom of the screen trim underneath air conditioner show signs of overheating have been replaced before GMC and Chevrolet is aware of this matter. Initially made no notes to Tri to inform me of this hazard of the overheating of the screen and blacking out of the screen commonly referred to a ghost screen. On XXX, my Chevrolet Silverado experienced a sudden, severe loss of normal braking shortly after I dropped my child off at school. When I attempted to stop at a stop sign, the vehicle would not stop normally. The brake pedal remained firm, but braking effectiveness was drastically reduced and required extreme force. The dashboard simultaneously displayed multiple warnings involving the brake/ABS system, ESC, steering-column lock, and trailer-brake system. OnStar generated a diagnostic/safety report identifying fault/error code P062F. The vehicle then entered a reduced-speed/limp-mode condition. I was extremely fortunate this occurred within approximately one mile of Rick Hendrick Chevrolet of [XXX] and with little traffic around me. I was able to reach the dealership without a collision. Had this occurred at highway speed, the inability to stop normally could have resulted in a fatal crash. The incident also occurred immediately after school drop-off. Had I used the normal car line instead of parking and walking my child inside, this failure could have occurred among stopped vehicles while children were actively exiting them. I immediately brought the vehicle to Rick Hendrick Chevrolet. Despite the seriousness of the event, I do not believe the cause was adequately investigated. To my knowledge, a computer/software update was performed and I was essentially told to “let them know if it happens again.” They also asked what i was towing - nothing.I questioned whether an electri
