2014 Ram 1500

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Ram 1500 and 2014-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with 3.0L Diesel engines. The crankshaft position sensor tone wheel may delaminate, causing the engine to lose its ability to synchronize the fuel injector pulses and cam shaft timing, possibly resulting in an engine stall.

Risk. An engine stall can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will update the powertrain control module software to maintain vehicle propulsion, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed August 3, 2023. Some owner notification letters were mailed October 31, 2023. The remaining owner notification letters will be mailed at a future date, anticipated July 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and 2014-2019 Ram 1500 vehicles equipped with 3.0L diesel engines. A high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) failure may introduce internal debris into the fuel system, potentially resulting in fuel starvation.

Risk. Fuel starvation may result in an unexpected loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the HPFP, and inspect and replace, if necessary, additional fuel system components, free of charge. Interim notification letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed July 21, 2022. Owner notification letters for were mailed for Jeep Grand Cherokee owners starting January 11, 2024. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Ram 1500 and 1500 Classic Pickup trucks equipped with 3.0L Eco Diesel engines. The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler may crack and allow pre-heated vaporized coolant to enter the EGR system. This mixture may combust inside the intake manifold.

Risk. Combustion in the intake manifold can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the EGR cooler, free of charge. Dealers will also inspect and, as necessary, replace the intake manifold. The recall began April 16, 2020. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is VB1.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks equipped with an 8 foot bed and a power locking tailgate. Chrysler is also recalling all 2013-2014 and 2018 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks built before April 1, 2018 with a 6 or 8 foot bed and a power locking tailgate. On August 29, 2019 Chrysler expanded the recall to include an additional 693,128 model year 2013-2014 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks. The tailgate actuator limiter tab may fracture and cause the tailgate to unlatch and open while driving.

Risk. If the tailgate opens while the vehicle is being driven, cargo may fall out the vehicle and create a road hazard, increasing the risk of crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will repair the tailgate latch, free of charge. The recall began May 23, 2019. Chrysler is expected to notify owners of the expanded population on October 18, 2019. Owners may contact FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US's number for this recall is V44. Note: 2015-2017 MY Ram 1500 pickup trucks with truck beds other than 8 foot, are currently covered under NHTSA recall 18V-486 for this issue.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

Risk. If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the software, and perform a software flash on the engine or powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began June 4, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Note: Owners are advised to stop using cruise control until the software update has been performed. In the event that cruise control cannot be disengaged while driving, owners should firmly and steadily apply the brakes and shift the transmission to neutral, placing the vehicle in park once it has stopped.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of less than 10,000 lbs, 2011-2017 Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles, 2009-2017 Ram 1500 and 2010-2017 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks, all equipped with a column shifter. Pushing the brake pedal for prolonged periods when the vehicle is running and in PARK may cause the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) pin to stick in the open position. With the pin in the open position, the transmission can be shifted out of PARK into any gear without pushing the brake pedal or having the key in the ignition.

Risk. Being able to shift the transmission without pushing the brake pedal and/or without a key in the ignition can increase the risk of an unintended vehicle rollaway that may result in personal injury or a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle software, inspect the BTSI, and, as necessary, replace it, free of charge. The recall began February 26, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is T79.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2013-2016 Ram 1500, Ram 2500, and 2014-2016 Ram 3500 vehicles. Certain driving conditions, such as driving off-road or debris striking the vehicle may cause the roll rate sensor to trigger a fault within the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC). If this fault occurs, the rollover side curtain air bag and the seat belt pretensioner will be disabled from deploying.

Risk. If the rollover side curtain air bags and seat belt pretensioners are disabled, there is an increased risk of injury to the vehicle occupants in the event of a crash that necessitates activation of these safety systems.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the ORC software, free of charge. The recall began June 26, 2017. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is T25.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling aftermarket Mopar Canvas Seat Covers for certain 2012-2016 RAM 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks. These Mopar canvas seat covers were sold through Chrysler dealerships beginning October 15, 2015. The seat covers can impede the deployment of the seat thorax airbags.

Risk. If the seat cover impedes the air bag deployment, the seat thorax air bags may not provide adequate protection in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of a injury.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners to remove the front seat covers and return them for a full refund. The recall began on July 1, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S30.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Ram 1500 Quad Cab trucks manufactured August 26, 2013, to August 8, 2015. The affected vehicles are equipped with side air bag inflatable curtains (SABIC) that may not fully overlap the C-pillars in the event of a vehicle crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 226, "Ejection Mitigation."

Risk. In the event of a vehicle crash, if a SABIC does not inflate as intended, there is an increased risk of injury to the rear seat occupant.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, dealers will inspect the right and left side air bag inflatable curtains (SABIC) for proper orientation and a foil patch will be installed on both sides of the headliner. One or both of the air bag inflatable curtains (SABIC) will be replaced if necessary. The recall began on October 7, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Ram 1500 diesel 4x2 trucks manufactured August 8, 2013, to July 2, 2015. The affected vehicles have a battery harness that may rub against the frame bracket for the right engine mount resulting in an electrical short.

Risk. If the harness shorts, the vehicle may stall and there is an increased risk of a fire.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles to confirm that the battery harness is correctly routed and secured. Any harness that shows evidence of wear will be replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on October 8, 2015. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500, 2015 Chrysler 200, Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and Dodge Challenger, 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, and Dodge Durango, and 2013-2015 Dodge Viper vehicles. The affected vehicles are equipped with radios that have software vulnerabilities that can allow third-party access to certain networked vehicle control systems.

Risk. Exploitation of the software vulnerability may result in unauthorized remote modification and control of certain vehicle systems, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify and mail affected owners a USB drive that includes a software update that eliminates the vulnerability, free of charge. Optionally, owners may download the update to their own USB drive from http://www.driveuconnect.com/software-update/ or take their vehicle to a Chrysler dealer for immediate installation. In an effort to mitigate the effects of this security vulnerability, Chrysler has had the wireless service provider close the open cellular connection to the vehicle that provided unauthorized access to the vehicle network. This measure may not have been implemented on all vehicles and does not address access by other means that will be remedied by the software update. The recall began on August 25, 2015. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2012-2014 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 trucks manufactured January 18, 2011, to October 7, 2014, and equipped with the Electronic Vehicle Information Center option. The affected vehicles have a steering wheel wiring harness that may rub against the driver air bag module retainer spring.

Risk. This abrasion may result in an electrical short that could cause driver's frontal air bag to unexpectedly deploy. Inadvertent deployment of the air bag may increase the risk of injury and the possibility of a vehicle crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect, repair as necessary, and secure the steering wheel wiring harness. Additionally, protective caps will be added to the air bag retainer spring ends. These repairs will be done free of charge. The recall began on September 18, 2015. Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks manufactured June 20, 2012, to January 26, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the side impact sensor calibrations may be overly sensitive, and as a result, the side air bag inflatable curtains and seat air bags may unexpectedly deploy and the seat belt pre-tensioners may activate.

Risk. Air bags that unexpectedly deploy increase the risk of a crash or injury.

Defect. Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2014 Jeep Cherokee and Ram 1500 and 2015 Chrysler 200 vehicles. Due to an insufficient weld, the rear shocks may detach from the vehicle at one end and possibly damage other chassis components, the tire or result in reduced braking.

Risk. Damage to the tire or reduced braking increases the risk of a vehicle crash.

Defect. Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2014 Ram 1500 4x4 vehicles manufactured January 24, 2014, through February 5, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the transmission case may have been improperly machined which can result in the park pawl not properly engaging when the transmission is in the 'Park' position.

Risk. If the park pawl does not properly engage, the vehicle may rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash and occupant or pedestrian injuries.

While driving on Citrus Ave. Power steering failed while turning. Could not straighten out till the Vehical entered oncoming lane. With great effort was able to pull to side of the road. Towed to dealer who refused to contact manufacturer or nitsa for warranty help .

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the ABS, traction control, and BRAKE warning lights were intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and the contact was advised that the ABS module needed to be replaced; however, the parts were on back order. The failure mileage was 164,000.

The ABS electronic control module is faulty on this trucks make and model, which is very common. My tractor control light is on ABS light is on electronic trailer. Brakes don’t work and the parking brake light is on the cruise control does not work and the breaking system is shot all because a little bit of water got inside the circuit board and fried it and Dodge does not make this part really available anymore. It is discontinued.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that when the outside temperature dropped below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, the power steering failed to engage upon starting the vehicle or while driving. The contact stated that the steering wheel became significantly difficult to turn. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was inspected, and the contact was advised that the VIN was not included in any open recalls. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 83,000.

Power steering went out while driving around corner causing it to go off road.

Ram has a recall for this vehicle for the fuel tank strap attachment point on the frame. It is their x75 recall. The part on my truck is completely rotted out exactly why the recall was made. My truck is 8 months outside of the recall period so Ram will not replace the part. The frame has obviously been rotting for a long time and who knows how long the fuel tank has only been supported with one strap. This is a huge safety concern and one that Ram is refusing to repair because it is outside of the time line. I can provide photos of the rotted out area as well as strap that is rotting as well. A known issue like this should not have a time line and should be replaced at no cost. Original in service date for the vehicle was February 18, 2014

Vehicle Information: 2014 Ram 1500 Quad Cab VIN: [XXX] Manufacturer: Stellantis N.V. / Chrysler Group LLC Selling/Servicing Dealer: First Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (280 E. Washington St, North Attleboro, MA 02760) Primary Component: Engine / Power Train Systems (Engine Block Corrosion / Oil Leak) Description of Safety Defect & Structural Failure: In December 2025, at approximately 59,000 miles, this vehicle experienced a sudden, severe engine oil leak. The cause was severe corrosion that created a hole through the lower engine block above the oil pan, located behind new transmission lines replaced by the dealership. First Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram acknowledged the severe corrosion and corroded engine block on record. The loss of engine oil created an immediate risk of engine failure, loss of vehicle power while driving, and a severe fire hazard from pressurized engine oil contacting hot exhaust components. The vehicle became completely inoperable and was flatbed towed to First Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Current Status & Official Record: The structural engine defect was never repaired. Subsequent third-party state inspection and state-certified used vehicle arbitration confirmed the unrepaired defect, resulting in a binding vehicle buyback decision issued in my favor on September 15, 2026. there are x2 photos of motor. my photo prior to towing to dealership and the dealerships approximately a month later. 2014 Ram 1500 5.7L, approximately 90,000 miles. Around October 2025, the ABS warning light, BRAKE warning light, and traction control light illuminated on the dash. Diagnosis shows ABS control module internal electronic failure (fault code C2200, lost communication with ABS module). This failure disables the anti-lock braking system, electronic stability/traction control, trailer brake controller, and cruise control. Failure was intermittent at first, occurring more often in warm weather, and has now become permanent. The vehicle cannot be repaired: replacement module Mopar part 68228991AD is discontinued and on national backorder, with dealers reporting the part has been under manufacturer engineering review for an extended period. Independent module rebuild services are unable to obtain required components. The vehicle is driven daily with these safety systems inoperative and no repair path available.

When driving down the road, the engine will completely shut off. Attempt to pull it over in a safe spot. The radio and four ways are still functional. Once we are stopped on the side of the road, the vehicle puts itself into park and am unable to restart the vehicle for 10 to 15 minutes. Upon restarting the vehicle, everything runs normal until it does it again. It can go weeks or even a couple hours. It has almost caused a crash several times due to randomly powering down the motor.

On or about September 10, 2026, I was driving on the interstate at 70 MPH. Suddenly, I lost control of the steering with no prior warning or warning lights. It was obvious the power steering was not working. The power steering warning light finally came on about 15 min later. Needless to say, my reaction time to potential road hazards was greatly diminished. If my wife was driving she would not have the strength to steer. This happened on I 30 and exit 117 in Benton Arkansas while driving 70 MPH. There is a recall on my make, model and year but apparently not for my specific vehicle. It cost me $3045.75 to get it repaired. The vehicle is available for inspection if needed.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. While driving approximately 40-50 MPH, the vehicle lost power steering assist, causing the steering wheel to be difficult to turn. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the rack and pinion was replaced. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V021000 (Steering); however, the VIN and model were not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

While towing a 17ft trailer I had to slam on the brakes to avoid another vehicle. The trailer brakes and ABS on my truck did not work. I managed to avoid the other vehicle but the ABS, trailer and parking brake light all came on a couple minutes later. The lights went off but came back on a couple of days later. On XXX I took the truck to the Ram dealer in [XXX], where I originally bought it from and they diagnosed the brake module had gone out. Code C2200-49. On XXX I was informed that there is not part available to make the repair. This is an important safety component for towing a trailer and is required in [XXX]. I have had the ABS control module show an internal fault twice now in 3 years. The latest incident was while I was towing my travel trailer. When the unit sets a code, it disables the trailer brakes, along with the anti-lock brakes. This could be really bad in on a hill or sudden need to stop. The first occurrence was in 2023. I was unable to find a replacement, so i found a company to repair the unit. After the current incident, I have started looking for a new unit. They are still not readily available. How can this not be a major safety problem? Manufacturers are required to provide ABS systems in cars, but not the parts to fix the systems? This seems to be a very common problem with the 2013-2018 Ram 1500 trucks. The problem part shows C2200, ABS module internal; internal electronic fault.

Electronic power steering rack and pinion failed and made the steering wheel very difficult to turn. This caused the truck to turn wide into a parking lot and almost strike another vehicle. This issue is a known problem for other RAM models, but does not officially apply to mine. Now, the truck will start fine, as soon as you turn the steering wheel, an alert comes up on the dash and the steering wheel is difficult to turn.

The front fuel tank strap mounting bracket broke. There is a recall (U-04/NHTSA 18V-160) for model years 2009-2012 for this issue. It also was added to models thru 2018 as TSB/Ext. Warranty #14-002-18 Rev. A., which expired on my vehicle in March 2026. This means that the expense will be out of my pocket. What I don't understand is, it is a known safety issue on 2009-2018 Ram 1500 trucks, but only a recall for model years 2009-12. And since the recall doesn't presently cover my model year (2014), there was no notification of this issue sent to me. I believe that since it is a known issue included in a recall/TSB of model years through 2018, the recall should be extended to cover all model years. This failure could put myself and others at risk because there is only one bracket holding my fuel tank on, which could cause loss of control of vehicle or a fire to the vehicle if the remaining bracket breaks. This issue was discovered by a private auto repair shop, in which there were no warnings signals from the vehicle.

ABS Module has stopped working. The part has been on back-order with RAM for months. A failed ABS module compromises safety by disabling anti-lock braking and electronic stability control (ESC).

While driving the EPS went out displaying a warning message service power steering. I lost all control of power steering, had it scanned by a shop they stated I would have to replace to rack and pinion EPS unit. The issue is trying to find the part, not to meant it is going to cost between $3000-$4000 for the part and then the labor cost to change out. When looking to find parts i came across a report saying there has be several issues with this same EPS issue and it could be covered under a defeat recall or law suit act.

This complaint is to report a power steering failure in my 2014 ram truck which has only 21,345 miles. The failure happened at the start up so there was no safety risk for me, but I understand from reading prior complaints that it can happen during driving. There was no warning or issue prior to the failure. I simply started the truck and the red warning light came on the dash and I had no power steering. I haven’t taken it to a mechanic as they charge $200 just to diagnose the issue and dealer informed me the eps steering rack is on back order. I read this issue has been known since 2023. Is that true? How many complaints are needed to get a recall for this issue? I’m almost reluctant to drive it again if/when it gets fixed.

Sudden, complete loss of electric power steering while backing out in a parking lot. I was driving our 2014 Ram 1500. It was approximately 9:00 pm and I was in a post office parking lot. I started the truck, put the car in reverse and backed out. The steering suddenly became impossible to turn and the ESP warning appeared on the dash. The truck had been driving fine and the failure occurred without warning. THE ESP warning light had never appeared prior to this incident. The truck could not be safely driven after the steering failure and required towing to a mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed a failure of the electric power steering system and the entire electric power steering rack and pinion had to be replaced. This was an unexpected and significant repair expense at a cost of $2,788.50 including $150 for the tow. Thankfully, the total failure of the ESP did not occur when I was driving at a high speed and thankfully it was late enough in the day that the parking lot was empty and no other vehicles were involved or disrupted. My safety and others would have been at risk because the steering wheel was completely locked and I was unable to turn it at all. The old rack and pinion has been kept if inspection is needed. It has not been inspected by anyone other than our mechanic. I am specifically filing this report because after my own searches, I discovered that this situation has happened numerous times and it could be a very serious catastrophic event if it is not investigated

Rack and pinion/steering assist failed it is available for inspection and has not been repaired. My safety was put at risk along with the general public I was driving about 40 mph when all of the sudden I lost power assist I initially thought the engine stopped so I pulled off as best I could with no shoulder in that section of road. I sat there in the road for a minute until I figured out the engine was running I just didn't have power steering. The rack and pinion has been inspected by Jim click Dodge and I have not been able to afford the repair at around $3,200. The steering light is on in the dashboard.

This truck has a failed steering rack that literally almost took me off the road mid driving, but yet doesn't fall under the 2015-2016 official recall. I am documenting this because this is going to become a cost out-of-pocket. But seriously needs to be added to the list of active recalls.

The contact became aware of Technical Service Bulletin: 14/002/18rvea, referencing an extended warranty coverage; however, no recall had been issued. The warranty coverage only covered up to 12 years. The subframe needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.

I own a Ram pickup that has experienced a failure of the ABS brake module. The replacement ABS module is not available from the manufacturer, and I have now been waiting approximately three years for the necessary replacement part. I have contacted Ram dealerships regarding this problem and have repeatedly been told that the ABS module is on backorder and/or unavailable. Despite waiting for approximately three years, there is still no reasonable timeframe for obtaining the part and repairing my vehicle. This is not an ordinary convenience item. The ABS module is a critical safety component of the vehicle’s braking system. When the module fails, important safety systems can be disabled, including anti-lock braking and traction/stability control. Depending on the failure, other vehicle functions can also be affected. I am extremely concerned that Stellantis/Ram has allowed owners to remain without a manufacturer-supported repair for years because the replacement part is unavailable. An owner should not be forced to wait three years for a safety-critical braking component. I have also found numerous complaints from other Ram owners reporting similar ABS-module failures and extended or indefinite parts shortages. This indicates that the problem may be widespread rather than an isolated parts-supply issue. When driving down the road and sometimes when I first start the 2014 Ram 1500 Laramie I own the electric power steering will quit working, I am being told when speaking with the Dodge dealership that the electric power steering on this vehicle is not covered under the recall NHTSA 19E-077 for 2013-2019 rams with the power steering issues when this vehicle has been showing the same symptoms as the recall states and the fact that intermittently the power steering will go out and could possibly cause an accident. I can't understand why a recall that contains 2013-2019 ram trucks would not include a 2014 that is showing the same problems. can you please shed some light on this matter for me? and how i might possibly get my truck added to this recall. I was driving on the highway and went to turn on curve and the steering started became hard and then a jerk on the wheel made me veer off the highway . Once I was able to stop fully i checked the steering wheel it was hard to turn .

Lost power steering completely.

While driving in a snow storm, the power steering suddenly quit and my truck was forced off the highway and into a ditch. My truck had severe front end damage as a result. Luckily I wasn't hurt. After which the steering was normal for awhile, then suddenly did it again. Now the truck is essentially undriveable.

Backing my truck out of my garage the power steering needs service came on and immediately I had no power steering. The truck was very difficult to steer and had I been driving on the road this would have been a major oroblem. I only have 42000 miles on the truck.

Abs traction control and e brake lights are on every time I go to crank the truck. I also get a check engine light with three codes causing my power steering and speedometer and odometer to stop working, I can sometimes clear the codes but the check engine light reappears when I’m going down the road. It has caused me to almost hit a light pole in the rain when I was going around a curve under 20 mph. I took the vehicle to my local ram dealer and was told it was the abs module and that it is a common problem and there is no eta on a new one so I’ve tried to get a reman and can’t because no company is making the parts to build them. I don’t understand that if the abs going out is a common problem then why hasn’t there been a recall

Shortly after purchasing this truck, the ABS, Traction Control, Electronic braking system, and trailer brake system lights all came on. Back then I did some research and learned it was just something I will have to live with. Fast forward 2 years and the other day I drove to work like normal but when I came back out to my truck the electronic power steering had gone out. Some research told me that it was caused by my ABS module going bad. It is ridiculous that this part is going out in so many trucks and it is not even available for purchase. I’d happily replace it if it were available. Downright irresponsible on Ram’s part.
