2015 Keystone Montana

Defect. Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Risk. In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy. Keystone will notify owners and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. Defect. Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain model year 2015 Keystone Sprinter, Cougar, Montana, Montana High Country, Outback, Bullet, Avalanche, Alpine, Fuzion, Impact, Laredo, Raptor, Carbon, and Passport, and Dutchmen Kodiak, Aerolite, Denali, and Voltage vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the screws that attach the expanding room to the sliding mechanism cable may fail allowing the room to extend unintentionally while the vehicle is in motion.

Risk. If the room extends while vehicle is in motion, there is an increased risk of a crash.

Remedy. Keystone has notified owners, and dealers will replace the screws that secure the drive chain, free of charge. The recall began on June 18, 2015. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 15-225.

Defect. Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Montana vehicles manufactured November 1, 2012, to May 22, 2014, 2014-2015 Raptor vehicles manufactured February 3, 2014, to January 15, 2015, and 2015 Dutchmen Voltage vehicles manufactured May 6, 2014, to February 3, 2015. In the affected vehicles, a rivet for the quad entry steps may shear and fail, causing the steps to give when being used.

Risk. If the rivet shears causing the quad step to fail, the step user may fall, increasing the risk of personal injury.

Remedy. Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace two rivets joining the second and third step, and replace four rivets on the top step with fasteners, free of charge. The recall began on April 7, 2015. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 15-224.

TIRE BLEW OUT AT ABOUT 62 MPH CAUSING OVER $4000.00 DAMAGE TO THE RV. TIRE COMPANY CONTACTED SINCE TIRE WAS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD AND HAD ONLY 2300 MILES AND WAS PROPERLY INFLATED AND NOT OVERLOADED. TIRE COMPANY RESPONDED FROM CHINA AND ASKED FOR PICTURES AND ESTIMATE OF DAMAGE ALL OF WHICH WAS SENT TO THEM. SINCE SENDING ALL THE DOCUMENTATION THEY WILL NO LONGER RESPOND TO MY E-MAIL REQUESTS FOR UPDATES. THE COMPANY MAKES THESE TIRES IN CHINA UNDER THE NAME CROWN TIRE. A TIRE THAT IS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD AND PROPERLY MAINTAINED SHOULD NOT COME APART AS THIS ONE DID AND NOW IT SEEMS THEY WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WARRANTY..

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 KEYSTONE MONTANA. WHILE INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE CONNECTING RIVETS TO THE QUAD ENTRY STEPS WERE BENT AND CAUSED THE STEPS TO BECOME UNSTABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE IF THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V10200 (STRUCTURE). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
