2025 GMC Sierra 1500

Defect. Rollx Vans (Rollx) is recalling certain GMC Yukon, Sierra, Chevrolet Express 2500, Ford Transit, E-250, Toyota Sienna, Sienna Hybrid, Honda Odyssey, Chrysler Town and Country, Voyager, Pacifica, Dodge Grand Caravan, and Ram Promaster vehicles equipped with QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max wheelchair restraints. Please refer to Rollx's recall report for specific model year information. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.

Risk. An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy. Rollx will work with Q'Straint to inspect and replace the retractors as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 5, 2026. Owners may contact Rollx's customer service at 1-800-956-6668.

On January 16, 2026, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Recall Query RQ26001. This investigation was opened to assess the remedy effectiveness of Recall 25V-274. ODI has received complaints alleging engine failure in vehicles after the recall remedy had been completed, whether that remedy involved an oil viscosity change or a complete engine replacement. General Motors (GM) issued Recall 25V-274 to address concerns of engine failure in the L87 engines produced between March 1, 2021 and May 31, 2024. Certain vehicles listed above may have a condition in which the jack kit lifting rod is out of specification. Dealers will replace the jack handle components.

Certain vehicles, equipped with 8L80 or 8L90 Transmissions, may have a condition in which the reaction carrier cracks. Dealers are to replace the reaction carrier.

Customer Satisfaction Program. Certain vehicles listed above may have improper lubrication of the rear axle assembly. Dealers will replace the rear axle.

This technical bulletin provides a procedure to replace the camshaft actuator magnet to correct customer concerns of engine related shudder.

This engineering informational bulletin is requesting information from technicians to perform the check list provided and contact the engineer listed in regards to the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminated on Driver Information Center (DIC).

This is a follow up to my recent safety concern on my 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 6.2 engine. Dropped off my vehicle to our GMC service dealer on 10/22/2026 - Oil change and 15K mile check up was getting close. Mileage at drop off was 14,278 and the engine was still making sounds/noise and getting louder. Asked the service advisor to check for metal in the oil or filter. Based on their service review and advisors response, metal was found in the oil filter and engine is ticking. Service department sent information to GM rep for further actions needed. Dealer rep stated that I need a new engine due to this new found issue. Waiting for response from a GM representative at this time. Truck is in my garage at home. I remain very concerned about driving this vehicle at this time. Just called the dealership as I have not heard of any follow up yet. Call went to voice mail of my service advisor. 6.2 Engine is ticking and metal has been found in the filter. Please add this to my original concern on this VIN #.

Severe Engine Knock

The engine locked up and stalled out while driving. GM replaced engine but still experiencing issues. Dealer has admitted that they will likely recall my model year since it is an ongoing and same issues as recalled trucks. I have a vehicle I am not confident in nor safe it since it stalled while driving.

Engine lost power and is smoking profusely. An independent service center told us there is a problem with one or more of the cylinders. No, there were no warning lamps. It's here, but we can't drive it.

In April 2025, we purchased a new GMC Denali Sierra 1500 Ultimate pickup truck. Concerns – Many of these comments appear in the Dealer Service Reports 1st Service Visit 10/17/25 At our first oil change and scheduled maintenance (10/17/25) with mileage of 5403 miles, during the drop-off I informed the GM Service Advisor of a clicking sound from the engine which I thought might be a fan belt. When I picked up the truck from Service, the Service Adviser informed me that upon startup, a “clatter” type noise was heard, “reminiscent of bad lifters.” The Service Adviser reported that during the mechanic’s test drive, the “clicking noise would get louder with engine speed.” No trouble codes were found after being checked by the MDI. They checked for misfires and a few misfires were found but “not often. At “idle” during this service call, the Left Engine Bank had a “good click/metallic tap to it.” “When the idle was raised, the Right Bank would get loud and had a loud tapping sound.” The oil change did not show any visible metal particles. The GM Service Department recommended a “complete tear-down of the engine for further inspection,” tentatively scheduled in a few weeks, pending Service availability. The Service Adviser stated he would recommend an engine replacement. 2nd Service Visit 10/27/2025 While driving the truck, I noticed that the engine “ticking” had gotten louder, and a Check Engine light had gone on and off. I returned to the Service Department on 10/27/25 (mileage 580

Vehicle lost power. Pulled into parking lot steering wheel locked. Tried to restart truck nothing happened. Took to dealer they said motor needed to be replaced and it would take 4 to 6 weeks.

The contact owns a 2025 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that during vehicle startup, the infotainment system displayed a blank screen and produced no audio volume. The failure also occurred while driving. The contact associated the failure with Preliminary Information Bulletin: PIT6362, which addressed software-related infotainment and radio anomalies. The dealer was contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.

I was driving at 70 mph on the highway. I heard clunk and then rattling and saw smoke while losing power. Check 4wd warning illuminated. Came to stop in busy traffic and where I first parked on shoulder, saw shoulder of roadway smoking and on fire. I pulled forward 100 or so feet slowly while hearing more grinding rattling cranking. Came to stop. Fire dept arrived and extinguished roadside blaze. Called towtruck and had towed to [XXX] in [XXX]. 75k miles. No warning just catastrophic failure. ELECTRONIC BRAKING SYSTEM FAILURE. VEHICLE WAS PUT IN LIMP MODE WITH A TOP SPEED OF 62 MPH. VEHICLE HAD VERY LITTLE OR NO BRAKING . VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 13,000 MILES . I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER.

The contact owns a 2025 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 - 10 MPH, the vehicle went into LIMP Mode and failed to properly accelerate, and the transmission unexpectedly downshifted. There was an electrical malfunction, which caused the transmission to downshift. An unknown message was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that the network was not operating at the correct voltage due to the wiring harness. The engine light illuminated after the failure. The vehicle was towed on two occasions to the dealer to attempt to duplicate the failure. The dealer was unable to determine how to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was driven to the dealer in LIMP Mode. The manufacturer, General Motors, was contacted by the dealer, and the contact also reported the failure to the manufacturer. A General Motors service engineer had inspected the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 34,637.

Turned on vehicle and an alert popped up "Brake system control module malfunction", limited speed to 43 miles per hour, no power breaks worked. I have had no issues with brake system for the first 11k miles. I contacted my local GMC dealership (Banks Chevrolette in Concord, NH) and was told that I would not be able to get an appointment until the 2nd week of November. I told them this was a break system issue covered under warranty and they told me I was welcome to DRIVE to their dealership (14 mi away on INTERSTATES and CITY STREETS) and wait to see if there was any time to plug it in, but they would not guarantee there would be time on their end. I spoke with the service manager and was told the same and that his advice was to "not drive it until November". I was able to take the truck to a shop in town 2 mi away , and they printed off the following codes: P25A U160F U1610 U2418 U2419

Super cruise was engaged on I-95 and attempted a lane change. Another vehicle was in a position along side my vehicle that would have resulted in an accident if I had not noticed it and manually grabbed the steering wheel to override the super cruise. I have an appt with the dealer next week. The vehicle is also is occasionally displaying a "service driver assistance system" message

I was driving in town when all lights on the dash lit up, and I mean all of them. I was approaching a traffic light in low traffic in the 20-30mpg range. I went to apply the brakes and almost had none. If I was going to estimate how much braking was available, it would be in the 10% range. I drove at 20mph to the nearest dealer. They verified the issues. They reflashed the computer, drove the truck afterwards, and pumped the brakes. They told me they recommended an immediate master cylinder replacement. They had seen this twice already in the month of August. Both times prior to mine the reflash initially worked, but the problem returned within a week, and the master cylinders had to be replaced. The master cylinder replacement was a $2600 repair.

When updating the vehicle as prompted by the entrainment system the next day when attempting to start the vehicle it did not start. Vehicle had to be jumped then 6 warning lights came on and disappeared shortly after driving.

On XXX my 2025 gmc sierra 6.2L v8 engine experience catastrophic engine failure with no preexisting alerts or warnings. It was towed to Baglier gmc in [XXX] on XXX and is currently awaiting diagnostic evaluation. Upon restarting the vehicle after failure, the engine light did turn on. So I spent many months trying to aquire a GMC Sierra Denali and with all the issues with the 20 - 24 6.2 engines we were assured by the dealer that all the issues were resolved with the 2025 6.2 models. So we spent big to aquire an 2025. So I bought one new. My truck had 8000 miles on it with 2 oil changes. So we booked a trip to [XXX] at considerably a large expense and loaded up our Harley's on my light aluminum trailer, less than 3.5k pounds and headed that way from [XXX]. We made it to [XXX] and spent the night. Next morning we were heading to [XXX] and the truck blew up on the XXX. We were pulled over on a very busy hi way and had to get truck and trailer towed back to [XXX]. We were stuck there for 3 days while GMC installed a rebuilt motor in my 83k truck and totally missed our entire vacation. On line it said GMC would cover hotel and 40.00 dollars a day food. I am so disgusted after being reassured that GMC had fixed the 6.2 and putting our life in danger blowing up on a major highway, and afterward GMC only gave us 200. For our inconvenience. Our room alone was more not counting the money lost on out trip accommodations. I am so completely disappointed with this truck that we bought new and spent more than we ever had on a vehicle, and am afraid of ever taking another trip in it. Safety Complaint – 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 Tailgate While driving our 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 and towing a trailer, the tailgate unexpectedly opened and dropped down while the vehicle was in motion. No one touched the tailgate button, key fob, or any other controls to activate the tailgate. We were unaware that the tailgate had opened. When we made a turn, the trailer contacted the tailgate and crushed/damaged it. This occurred without any intentional activation of the tailgate release. We believe this presents a significant safety concern because an unexpectedly opening tailgate while driving, especially while towing a trailer, could result in property damage, loss of cargo, or a more serious accident. We are requesting that this issue be investigated to determine whether there is a defect with the tailgate latch, release mechanism, or electronic controls on the 2025 GMC Sierra 1500.

ENGINE STARTED KNOCKING AT 18K MILES AND TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY FOUND METAL IN THE FILTER AND INSTALLED A NEW ENGINE AND ALSO REPLACED THE MIDPLATE GASKET ON THE VALVEBODY DUE TO A HARSH DOWNSHIFT WITHOUT CODES IN THE SYSTEM THIS ENGINE IS GOING ON 2K MILES AND IT SEEMS TO BE FINE NOW BUT THE PROBLEM WITH 6.2 WAS ONLY SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE 21-24 MODELS AND MINE IS A 25 MODEL AND ALREADY HAD A REPLACED AND NOTHING FROM GM WAS SAID TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON THIS MODEL AND POWERTRAIN

Engine making noise during a trip took to dealership and they reported engine is bad and needs to be replaced because it would freeze on the road. Vehicle has 7000 miles.

I own a 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali equipped with the 6.2L V8 L87 engine, VIN [XXX]. The vehicle had approximately 35,000 miles when the engine experienced a catastrophic engine failure. Prior to/during the failure, the vehicle experienced abnormal engine noise and a loss of power. Multiple warning/alarm lights appeared on the dashboard, including the Check Engine and Traction Control warning lights. The engine failure resulted in a loss of motive power and made the vehicle unsafe to operate. PHONE# [XXX] The sudden loss of engine power while driving created a serious safety hazard because the vehicle could no longer operate normally in traffic and could potentially cause a crash. I am requesting that NHTSA document and investigate this engine failure as a potential safety defect involving the GM 6.2L L87 engine. I am also requesting that NHTSA determine whether 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles equipped with this engine should be included in an appropriate safety recall or other corrective action. Confirmed as catastrophic engine failure by dealership. New engine has been ordered.

I pulled up to a local store and parked. Just as I was getting out I saw smoke coming from the upper seatbelt area of the rear drivers side seat inside the cab. I jumped in back to see if there was a fire. As I was trying to pull out the top cushions of the interior roof, trying to locate a possible fire, the rear driver-side window suddenly "exploded" - broke in a web pattern across the entire window. I then broke out the center of the glass in case a fire started. I could smell a burning scent. The, suddenly the rear passenger-side window exploded in the same web pattern across that entire window. When my wife arrived to pick me up she could also smell the scent of burning wire. After researching the internet for this issue, we found out that this is a known issue. We discovered at least 6 websites describing this exact issue - one being a GM Customer Satisfaction Program #N192265660 dated January 2020. Apparently the component that has been determined to have failed is the rear window defrost (particularly in models with an electronic sliding rear center window) overheats and causes the smoke and the window breakage. After our truck being at the dealership for approximately 1 month while GMAC supposedly researched the issue, we received word today verbally (Aug 27, 2026) that they declare this issue is not a manufacturer's defect, and they will not cover the repairs. Engine shut off. It did restart after placing it in park. I did own a 2022 Sierra Denali and the motor failed on that vehicle. I swapped out to the 2025 to get away from what I thought was a problem on that vehicle and now learning this is an inherent problem with the 6.2L motors that include this year. As a consumer, I am very infuriated that the problem has been in place for years and still is today. The DOD system in these motors is also a problem and will eventually rear it's head out of warranty. You can go purchase a DOD delete kit and pay someone to remove and install the kit but at an additional 2500 in expense for parts and labor. This needs to be addressed!

Cruise control activates at speeds between 1-5mph, which frequently happens while turning, parking, or going through a drive-through. The cruise control activates by a toggle on the left spoke of the steering wheel, which can be easily bumped while doing low-speed maneuvers like parking. When bumping the toggle, the cruise indicator shows a set speed of 15-18 mph, and the vehicle surges forward trying to attain that speed. Since this occurs while maneuvering to park, it creates a dangerous situation if anyone is nearby and you are unable to react in time. This is an ongoing problem that can be duplicated at will. Rear backup camera very dark at night it’s unusable.

The 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 with 18,675 miles and the 6.2 gas engine failed during a road trip. I was on my way from [XXX] to [XXX] on the Interstate when about 7 hours in, just outside [XXX]. I was noticing a lack in power when I pulled out of a rest area. The truck would not accelerate over 60mph. I slowed down and as I was pulling off the side of the interstate, the truck died. There was knocking sound as I started to pull over. I attempted to restart the vehicle; it did not restart. I called roadside assistance and the tow truck to myself and the truck into Edwards Chevrolet Cadillac in [XXX]. They diagnosed the issue as spun or bad bearing in the engine, and it would need replaced. They told me that the last 6.2 engine took 60+ days to receive and they were now on backorder, plus they already had a truck in the shop waiting for one. There were no warning indicators on the console, and all my service has been done at GM dealers. The biggest safety issue was being stuck on the side of the interstate with rushing semi's going by. I was also going to be stuck in [XXX] until a resolution was found. I ended up purchasing a new 2026 GMC Denali Ultimate with the 3.0 diesel. On [XXX], while driving my 2025 GMC Sierra 1500, VIN [XXX], near [XXX], California, the vehicle suddenly experienced a severe brake failure while traveling on a public roadway. When I attempted to apply the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to brake normally and I was unable to safely stop the truck using normal braking. I was forced to reduce speed and allow the vehicle to coast until I was able to enter a side road and bring the vehicle to a stop. I was extremely fortunate that traffic conditions were light at the time. A vehicle traveling in front of me, an intersection, pedestrians, or heavier traffic could have resulted in a serious or fatal crash. After stopping the vehicle, I discovered a metal retaining ring/clip on the floor directly underneath the brake pedal area. At approximately the same time, multiple brake system failure and warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. I immediately contacted GMC through the vehicle's SOS system and reported the brake failure. The vehicle was subsequently towed and delivered to a GMC dealership/service department for diagnosis and repair. This appears to involve the mechanical separation or detachment of a component associated with the brake pedal assembly. I have retained the metal component, video evidence of the condition and warning lights, towing information, and dealership repair documentation. One evening while driving home from work, the transmission warning light illuminated on my dashboard, indicating that the vehicle would soon stop. The notification specifically stated there was a transmission problem. The following morning, I brought my truck to GMC for service. After running a diagnostic, GMC confirmed an issue with the transmission. A few days later, GMC informed me that they were waiting for a replacement part to arrive. The part did not arrive for almost a month. During this waiting period, I was forced to pay for a rental car. Since my truck was still under warranty, GMC should have covered the cost of the rental car for the weeks my vehicle was awaiting repair.

The truck when put in parking it still roll forward a little bit. Back up camera can’t not see during night time. Dealership stated they will not solve that problem and tell us to do manually by turn around look back. The suspension really bouncy but the tech stated that is normal. Spoke to other 3rd party tech they said that not normal at all.

On July 25, 2026 when starting my vehicle, it began to shake violently and I receive numerous errors, including a check engine light and displays in the infotainment, indicating there were engine and transmission errors with the vehicle. I received a text message notification and in app notification from GMC indicating that there was a critical error and provided error code P0352. This appears to be an error related to a faulty engine, this is the 6.2L V8, which is known to be problematic by GMC. Had this happened while I was driving on the interstate three minutes later, it could’ve resulted in great bodily harm or death to both myself and the general public around me. GMC was later able to reproduce the issue at the dealer, confirming the faulty equipment on the vehicle with less than 16,000 miles on it. The component was replaced by the dealer, however, the vehicle is available for inspection.

The engine shuts off while slowing down. It cuts off cleanly and the entire dash lights up and the transmission shifts to neutral. The driver display says to put the truck in park and hit the start button. After you do this the truck runs fine for about 2k-3k miles and does it again. I has done this 5 times within 10k miles. The dealer says nothing is wrong with the truck because the computer doesn't record any codes. This happens regardless of whether the auto stop/start feature is on or off.

Truck vibrates at speeds from 25-45 mph while maintaining speed

Engine started making a loud knocking noise and it sounded like the engine was about to throw a rod. Turned engine off and called GM. Vehicle was towed to dealership and it was diagnosed with a thrust bearing failure. My truck only had 14k miles on it. To fix the bearing issue, it will need a new engine. GM does not currently have engines to replace the faulty ones so it has sat at the dealership for 3 weeks with No ETA as to when it will be fixed. This is apparently a common problem in the 2025-2026 models LZ0 3 liter diesel. They are still selling these affected vehicles currently, knowing that they may have a problem. GM needs to issue a recall and take these vehicles back.

Going down the highway at highway speeds engine fully seized up almost cause an accident,, totally locked up engine, got towed to dealer and they said total engine failure just like in the priare years., been waiting for a new engine for almost 3month due to these failing on other cars,, they will be replacing my old engine with same engine that in prone to locking up. only a matter of time till the new one does the same thing. i want a buy back but they say it has 70k miles and its over the warranty and they wont buy back

Interior Electrical System / Center Console Wireless Charging Pad The plastic housing surrounding the factory wireless phone charging pad in the center console has visibly melted and deformed. The damage is localized to the area directly above/around the induction charging coil, with no similar heat damage to adjacent console plastics, indicating the wireless charging module itself is the heat source. I stopped using this charging location upon noticing the deformation. This appears to be a component overheating defect that poses a potential fire risk if left in continued use. I am not aware of an existing recall or technical service bulletin covering physical melting of this component (existing GM bulletins address intermittent charging function only, not heat damage to plastic). Requesting this be documented and investigated.

The adaptive cruise control has twice unexpectedly applied the brakes with sufficient force to result in a minor whiplash situation of a sore neck. Both times were driving on a two-lane highway traveling between 65-70 mph (cruise control was set a 68 mph) with no vehicles in the lane in front of me. The adaptive cruise control appeared to interpret oncoming traffic as a vehicle in front of me and aggressively applied the brakes, rapidly dropping my speed from 68 mph to the 35 mph range. Brakes were applied with such force that my neck was sore for about two weeks after each incident. My vehicle also has automatic emergency braking (AEB), but I don't believe this system was activated as the warning lamp on the dash and the audible alert was not activated in either situation. These incidents are related to the adaptive cruise control feature, not the AEB system. The dealership has not had an opportunity to inspect the vehicle yet, or any other agencies. In both incidents, no warning lamps or audible alerts were activated.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The engine/powertrain failed. The vehicle is a 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 equipped with the 6.2L V8 engine. The engine developed a severe knocking noise and loss of power at approximately 5,545 miles. The vehicle was taken to the GM dealership, where an engine replacement was approved. The failed engine/component may be available for inspection through the dealership or GM, depending on whether it has already been removed or returned to the manufacturer. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The engine failure created a safety concern because the vehicle experienced reduced power/loss of propulsion while being operated. This could have put me and other drivers at risk because a sudden loss of engine power can make it difficult to safely maintain speed, merge, tow, or move the vehicle out of traffic. While driving at highway speed, my 2025 GMC Sierra suddenly began slowing down without warning and lost propulsion. When I pressed the accelerator, there was no acceleration response. The vehicle felt like it was braking or dragging instead of accelerating, creating a serious crash risk in traffic. A warning message appeared instructing me to “Put in neutral and restart truck.” I followed the instruction, but the vehicle would not restart. It sounded like it was attempting to start, but it would not start normally. A “Service ESC” warning also appeared. The vehicle was towed by AAA to a GMC dealership and remains available for inspection. The dealership provided a diagnostic trouble code report showing active codes: C2A07 Engine Control Module Indicated Torque Signal Malfunction; U0101 Lost Communication with Transmission Control Module; U0131 Lost Communication with Power Steering Control Module; U0140 Lost Communication with Body Control Module; U0146 Lost Communication with Central Gateway Module; U160F Lost Communication with Brake System Control Module 1 on CAN Bus 1; U1611 Lost Communication with Engine Control Module on CAN Bus 2; and U3003 Battery Voltage Circuit Voltage Below Threshold. The vehicle had approximately 22,000 miles at the time of the incident. The failure has not been repaired at the time of this complaint. 2025 GMC Sierra, purchased new, is showing signs of severe dry rot on 3 of the 4 original tires. The vehicle has less than 8000 miles currently. This level of Dryrot poses a safety hazard for a vehicle that is less than 1 year old.

The engine blew

Notice during startups and slow speeds engine making taping noises. After bringing my truck in for service I was told my sound was my lifters on the passenger side.

Either while stopping while driving or parking (forward or reverse) the engine RPMs go up thus wanting to move the vehicle in that direction causing the breaks needing to be applied harder. When you shift into neutral the RPMs go way up (3000). This has happened on this vehicle 3-4 times of which I have video of the latest occurrence. When put into R or D the RPMs are still over 1000. This also happened on the courtesy vehicle same make and model) I was given but on this one the RPMs went up to 5000 of which I also have a video. The dealership has not been able to duplicate the issue as of yet. My fear is that the vehicle will hit someone or something if the break isn't pressed to the floor. It happens very randomly. The dealer currently has my vehicle trying to figure it out. They say GM says there's nothing they can do. No warning lights or messages appeared.

Rough idle started at 11,400 miles. Took to GMC dealer near me and had thrust bearing clearance measured. Measured .0054"(within spec). They released truck back to me. 19,400 mile oil change found large metal(non magnetic) slivers in the filter media. I cut filters to check for issues due to known issues with this engine(metal). I called gmc corporate, i was told to not drive the truck. I paid out of pocket for the tow 142 miles away. Dealer told me they checked thrust bearing and came in at .0055", no noises, and no check engine light. Idle is very rough on start up. GM corporate stated a service advisor will call. Never got a call. I have sent and displayed the evidence and offered to show oil filter contents to both dealer and corporaten both have not done anything about this safety issue. This is a SEVERE safety issue. Engine is highly likely to lock up and cause serious injury to both me, my family, and others on the road. Dealer has released truck back to me and my family with clean bill stating they didnt find anything wrong. They refused to see my documentation of metal slivers or the 3 rimg binder full of maintenance records. As of now i will be escalating this to higher up in GMC corporate. SEVERE safety risk for my family and everyone on the road. GMC dealers refusing to diagnose.

6.2L crankshaft failed

In normal operation on Tuesday May 26,2026, the engine experienced catastrophic failure. The engine is the GM L87 6.2 Liter. This was on a highway in the country and I was able to maneuver the truck off the road before an accident occurred. It did leave me stranded and I was required to get it towed on a roll off (It was not drivable) to the dealer where I purchased it. The dealer [XXX] ) inspected my truck and has informed me that the issues with my 2025 Sierra match the issues for the recall GM had for the model years 2021-2025. It will require a new engine, radiator, among many other parts. There weren't any previous warnings. A check engine light only came on once the engine was engine came apart. An oil change on the vehicle by GM was done a month ago. The truck is a 2025 and has approximately 6,600 miles is all. Upon purchase of my 2025 GMC Sierra, it did not come with a physical manual. I asked the dealer about this and they said they did away with them, only providing the digital version. I contacted GMC recently as I saw the a recall dor 2026 models with this exact issue, but they did not seem to care and it was for 2026 models only. I find this to be a loophole GMC is following, and would just like a manual so I can log maintenance like a normal person without a phone or sitting in my vehicle. Thank you

My GMC sierra AT4 with the 3.0L Duramax Diesel, has 1,500 miles on it, when the engine failed. I was traveling from [XXX] to [XXX] , towing a trailer, when the check engine light came, and the truck entered reduced power mode. It immediately slowed the truck without warning - which made for a very dangerous situation for all of the vehicles behind me and for my vehicle. After getting the vehicle and trailer to a dealer, disconnecting the trailer, and then getting the truck in the shop, the dealer defined the OBDII code as being P06DD - Engine oil pressure control solenoid valve stuck off. U0146 - Lost communication with central gateway module, and U1605 - Lost communication with side obstacle detection control module - right on private CAN Bus. The dealer indicated that the P06DD code meant that the thrust bearing on the crankshaft failed and the engine would need to be replaced. The ending only has 1500 miles on it. It turns out that there are MANY GM 3.0L diesel engines that have failed for this issue and that GM issued a Technical Service bulletin in 2025 for this issue - TSB 25-NA-307. I work in the medical device industry and when there is a safety issue with your products - you initiate a RECALL. To date there has been no recall simply the TSB. What is the NHTSA going to do about ensuring that GM, and other manufacturers, are making engines safe? These engines can literally explode - sending metal shards through the engine into the passenger compartment. INFORMATION RED

Truck does not automatically shift into park when the door is opened. Getting out of my truck, I forgot to shift into park and opened the door, and the truck moved forward with automatically shifting into park, or applying the parking brake. I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee that did the same thing. There was a safety recall set forth by the NHTSA to have the car go into park when the door opened to prevent someone for being run over by the vehicle. My 2025 GMC Sierra is experiencing the same issue. I was not harmed, but can definitely see someone getting hurt.
