2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar and Land Rover Discovery, 2020-2023 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, 2019-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport, 2020-2024 Land Rover Range Rover, 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport, 2020-2024 Land Rover Defender, 2021-2024 Jaguar F-Pace, and 2021-2022 Jaguar E-Pace mild-hybrid electric vehicles (MHEVs.) The DC-DC converter can fail due to an internal fault in the boost control microchip. A failure of the DC-DC converter will result in a loss of 12-Volt system charging and can lead to complete loss of drive power and exterior lighting.

Risk. A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy. The remedy for this recall is currently under development. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed June 17, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available. Owners may contact Land Rover's customer service at 800-637-6837. Land Rover's numbers for this recall are D126 and H575.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2020–2025 Range Rover Evoque vehicles. The passenger air bag may tear during deployment.

Risk. A torn air bag may not adequately protect an occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, a torn air bag may allow hot gases to escape, which can cause a burn injury.

Remedy. Dealers will repair the passenger air bag module, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed February 17 2026. Owners may contact Land Rover's customer service at 800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N945.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2020 Range Rover Evoque vehicles. The cover for the left-side lower knee air bag may come loose, allowing the air bag cushion to unfold.

Risk. An improperly folded air bag may not deploy as intended, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the left-side lower knee air bag module, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed June 6, 2025. Owners may contact Land Rover's customer service at 800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N979. This recall expands and replaces previous NHTSA recall 21V-168.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2020 Range Rover Evoque vehicles. The cover for the right-side lower knee air bag may come loose, allowing the air bag cushion to unfold.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2020 Range Rover Evoque vehicles. The supplemental restraint system (SRS) warning light software is programmed incorrectly, which may cause the warning light to malfunction and intermittently illuminate.

Risk. An SRS system warning light that falsely illuminates could prevent the detection of an actual air bag system failure, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will update the restraints control module (RCM) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 23, 2022. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N664.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2020 Range Rover Evoque vehicles. The cushion cover on the left-side lower knee air bag may come loose, which could result in the cushion unfolding from the air bag module housing.

Risk. In the event of a crash, an unfolded knee air bag may not offer the driver full protection, increasing the risk for injury.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will replace the left-side lower knee air bag module, free of charge. The recall began May 3, 2021. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N566.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2020 Range Rover Evoque vehicles equipped with climate specification front seats trimmed with "Dinamica" cloth. In the event of a fire, the seat material may burn quicker than allowed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 302, "Flammability of Interior Materials."

Risk. A seat cover that burns too quickly can increase the risk of injury in the event of a fire.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front seat covers, free of charge. The recall began February 26, 2021. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N524.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2020 Range Rover Evoque vehicles equipped with a replacement part for the right and/or left-side outer second-row seat belt assembly. These seat belt assemblies may not function properly in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection" and 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."

Risk. Seat belts that do not function properly can increase the risk of injury during a crash.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the right and/or left-side outer second-row seat belt assemblies and replace them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began February 25, 2021. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N523.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2020 Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque vehicles. A software error may cause the instrument cluster to randomly alternate the speedometer and odometer units between Miles Per Hour (MPH) and Kilometers Per Hour (KM/H) without driver input to the display unit. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Control and Displays."

Risk. The changing displays may cause driver distraction or confusion and possibly result in excessive speed, which can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle software, free of charge. The recall began January 19, 2021. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N516.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque MHEV vehicles. The 48 volt electrical system may experience an overload event, causing a failure of the Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET) and result in a DCDC converter electrical short-circuit.

Risk. An electrical short-circuit increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle software, free of charge. Owners are advised to exit the vehicle when it is parked and park outside away from buildings or structures until the repair is complete. The recall began December 8, 2020. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-369-1000. Land Rover's number for this recall is N503.

My vehicle is affected by Safety Recall D126 / 26V-248. The vehicle has already experienced the recall failure: loss of charging, stalling while driving, and now it will not crank at all. The dealership is refusing towing, refusing to document the safety failure, and refusing Transportation. Corporate has also refused assistance. I am left without a vehicle and unable to work. This is an unsafe condition and a violation of federal recall obligations.

Ongoing battery and or electrical issues. Replace battery 3 times in 2 years. Car loses power. Replace Body Control module, tail gate lock. Car was in repair for 2 months and Never told an exact reason except there is an electrical gremlin. Dealer and manufacture could not determine cause. I have videos. Dealer was not interested in viewing. Only doing the scheduled service. Which did not fix or work as intended.

On 4/26/2026 My vehicle experienced hybrid system failure, electrical failure, charging system failure, loss of drive power, electrical shutdown, and loss of exterior lighting at a busy intersection, while at a red light. My vehicle had to be towed and was confirmed by the Range Rover dealership as a DC-DC converter failure. My 73 yr old mother and I had to get out and direct traffic for over two hours, to keep my vehicle from getting hit or us being seriously injured, until a wrecker arrived. I had previously took my vehicle to two dealerships, when I had a light to come on. They told me to keep driving until they researched the problem and that my vehicle would not leave me on side of the road. Approximately 2 weeks later is when it displayed another warning light, right before shutting off completely on the above date and having me stopped, not on the side of the road, but worse, at a red light busy intersection off a highway ramp. I found out by the dealership that my vehicle issue is part of an active DC/DC converter recall. My husband and I had to pay for the costly repairs, towing and have been out of a vehicle, with no loaner for over a month. I am requesting a "recall reimbursement”,“goodwill reimbursement” and “pre-remedy reimbursement eligibility."

The contact owns a 2020 Land Rover. The vehicle was exhibiting jerking motion. Fuel was noticed on the ground. The check engine light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that Fuel was being ejected from the exhaust. The vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the issue. the contact stated that the manufacturer stated there was a recall on the vehicle; however the repair is being charged at the owners expense. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

In march 2036 my car just completely stopped in 5pm traffic and I was almost hit over a dozen times car wouldn’t albe to be moved because it completed died out. When I took it to JLR had to have it towed twice . They said it was the battery and that it needed to be calibrated, sent me home and same day car stalled again in a busy traffic, this time they said it was my alternator and that my own system was shorted out, and they had to replace the alternator. Wants to charge me $4k , then I get a call saying it’s the DC Dc Converter and it’s shorted out my electric system and alternator! Don’t know I’what to believe ! Before my car died it first said charging. Battery low and died out while I was getting Dutch bros but started up right away, two days later I got the warning lights all flashing and then died completely

On March 5, 2026, while I and my 2 passengers were traveling on the 405 Freeway at approximately 40–50 mph, the vehicle suffered a catastrophic total loss of power. The engine shut off and all electronic systems failed simultaneously, including the instrument cluster and all interior lighting. Most critically, the hazard lights were inoperable, leaving the vehicle invisible to high-speed traffic during the failure. Since I was traveling at highway speeds I was able to safely glide the vehicle to the center shoulder. After approximately 10–15 minutes, the dashboard, infotainment, and climate control systems began flickering intermittently before power temporarily returned. Upon attempting to re-enter traffic to reach an exit, the vehicle stalled a second time while in motion. I returned to the shoulder again. After another 10 minutes the vehicle started and I was eventually able to exit the freeway and reach my residence. The following morning, the vehicle was completely unresponsive and would not start. It was towed to Land Rover Santa Monica dealership on March 6, 2026, where it currently remains for diagnosis and repair. This incident on the 405 freeway marks the third occurrence of a total loss of propulsion and electrical failure while the vehicle was in motion. Despite previous repair attempts, the defect persists, rendering the vehicle fundamentally unsafe for operation. A fire started under the hood roughly 15 minutes after we drove it and parked it. Smoke could be seen 1st, then the fire. Not sure what starter the fire. The vehicle was parked 3 ft from my house, which could’ve caught my house on fire, luckily it wasn’t parked in my garage. The incident has not been yet reproduced or confirmed by an independent service center, manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There not any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure

Windshield has water leaking into the inside of the car with water running out of the bottom of both front seat doors when it rains and now has severe condensation on the inside front windshield that is soaking wet. Water is pooling on the inside of both doors when opened. Very wet. Most likely a sealant fail

CAR STALLS TURNS OFF AT A COMPLETE STOP. IN ORDER TO MAKE IT TURN BACK ON YOU WILL HAVE TO TURN OFF AND TURN BACK ON. AT THE TIME OF IT HAPPENING YOU HAVE NO LIGHTS SO IT MAKES IT EASY FOR SOMEONE TO REAR END YOU. IF THIS HAPPENS IN THE HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC IT MIGHT KILL SOMEONE.

I am filing this complaint for a serious drivability and safety issue with my 2020 Range Rover Evoque (VIN: [XXX] ). For over two years, this vehicle has exhibited a violent jerking motion when accelerating from a stop. It happens intermittently but is becoming progressively worse. Despite multiple dealership visits, warranty repairs, and part replacements (including the driveshaft and oil separator). Most recently, on [XXX], my wife was nearly involved in a rear-end collision when the vehicle lurched forward at a green light despite gentle pressure on the accelerator. On [XXX], I experienced the same event, though luckily there was no car in front. These events are frightening and dangerous. We no longer feel safe driving this vehicle. I have attached a detailed document (submitted to Land Rover) summarizing our full service history, dealership findings, and recent near-accident experiences. The contact owns a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The contact stated that upon entering the vehicle, the contact became aware that rainwater had entered the cabin of the vehicle through the seal between the windshield. There was no warning light illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 46,000.

Car stopped suddenly without warning while driving on interstate on 2 occasions. Vehicle had 16K miles and was serviced by dealer as required. After weeks of investigation, it was determined that the water pump was defective. Took 15 minutes to restart the vehicle while sitting on side of highway.

I am submitting this complaint to report a significant windshield defect in my 2020 Range Rover Evoque. The issue involves water ingress due to improper windshield bonding, which leads to leaks into the passenger compartment and excessive wind noise. This is a known issue with Land Rover vehicles, as evidenced by Service Action N221, which acknowledges similar problems in prior model years, including other Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery vehicles. Despite the fact that Land Rover has documented and repaired this issue in other vehicles, Land Rover North America has denied responsibility for the defect in my vehicle. They agreed to cover the diagnostic inspection but refused to repair the defect under warranty or as a goodwill repair. Safety Concerns: • Structural Integrity Risk: A poorly bonded windshield compromises the vehicle’s structural integrity in the event of a crash. • Driver Visibility: Water leaks can cause fogging on the windshield, obstructing the driver’s view. • Electrical Damage: Water ingress can lead to electrical malfunctions, potentially impacting vehicle safety systems.

While driving on [XXX] on [XXX] from Burlington VT airport to Barre VT, the vehicle suddenly slowed and did not respond to the gas pedal. This was at about 5 pm. Managed to get the vehicle to the small curb but was partly in the right lane of highway. Many cars veered around us. Felt could easily have been hit from behind. Vehicle finally started after several tries and got it to a larger curb area. No warning lights came one before the stall, until just beforehand. Flashing lights then briefly lighted. Got vehicle towed to a repair shop that only kept it for several days and restarted several times. Then, had it towed to a Land Rover dealer in Bedford, NH, where it has been now for several days. They drove it and the problem recurred. Still no word on what happened. The vehicle has 26,000 miles and was purchased new in May of 2020. All required service was done by Land Rover dealers. The contact owns a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The contact stated that while attempting to park the vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact then attempted to shift to park(P); however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that on another occasion, while at a traffic light, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to stop. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer, but the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

The contact owns a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The contact stated that there was unknown fluid leaking from the vehicle. There was an unknown amber warning light illuminated. The contact added water to the radiator and the warning light temporarily turned off but illuminated again. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the rear emission battery needed to be replaced. The mechanic noticed a leak inside the vehicle that was flowing onto the onboard computer of the vehicle. The mechanic determined that the windshield wiper box line was the cause of the leak. The water was leaking from panel number one. The leak started at the front windshield to the driver's side window down to the air bag and the hose connected to the windshield wiper box into the firewall pillar and to the rear windshield. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

The contact owns a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The contact stated that after the snow season and the snow had melted on the roof of the vehicle, it was discovered that water was leaking into the cabin onto the front passenger’s side floor through the top of the front windshield. The contact stated that the front windshield could be slightly detached by pushing on it manually. The vehicle was taken to a local independent dealer where it was diagnosed that the front windshield needed to be replaced. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V421000 (Visibility); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,300.

My vehicle only has 37,000 miles on it. It had defective arms, which have needed replaced, as well as a defective seal along the windshield, causing it to leak, and now, after constant error messages as to the coolant, it was discovered that there is a leak coming from the secondary water pump at the flange where the hose is connected. This can cause engine failure otherwise and is a terrible safety hazard. Unfortunately, it's just outside of warranty, requiring an additional $1,500+ for the leak repair and parts replacement.
